Coats and Todd did a great job. I have MS and cant work anymore. They were honest with me and told me SSI is way behind so it took a little longer. They stayed in touch and let me know what the status was with my application. Once everything was cleared my payments started right away. A huge thank you to them for all of their help getting me approved and in the system.

I would not recommend this firm at all. I m a disabled veteran with severe arthritis. I asked Coats and Todd to help me get social security disability income. The case worker in charge of my case was Anna. I had up to December last year to turn in an application. After December I could no longer submit an application. I gave Anna my medical documentation. She gave them to attorney and they were supposed to work on my case. Come close to the December deadline, I called Coats and Todd to see what the status was with submitting my application as I have not heard from them in over a month. Anna told me that the attorney was not going to accept working on my case because they believe at Coats and Todd that Social security disability income is only for those who can t work. This is far from the truth. If what they said was true, the SSA would not pay out a maximum of $1500 to recipients who are working while at the same time receiving SSDI. So to recap Coats and Todd blatantly lied to me about SSDI and they were waiting for the December deadline to expire before ever contacting me. If you re a veteran or anyone who is looking for advocacy for SSI or SSDI, look elsewhere. You want honest trustworthy people working your case. Stay away from Coats and Todd.

I would like to share my experence with Mr. Coats. I had 4 prior lawyers and I felt like a number with no real feelings from my 4 prior lawyers. I asked around for a lawyer that was the best at Federal Appeals and 2 different lawyers said that Mr Co,ates was top notch and reffered me to him. Mr Coats won my federal appeal for me which I understood was very difficult to do. So next was another hearing and the internal medicine doctor came accross to me as unsupportive and then the vocational expert was also. Mr Coats was on top of it. He noted an MRI and some additional information in 2014 that supported my claim. The vocational expert agreed with the information and that was when I became disabled. The Judge immediately agreed with that information and said we had won our case. Mr Coats had called me the day before and this case began in 2012, so he had hundreds if not a thousand pages to go through to have been that sharp in winning my case right on the spot. I promise if anyone is looking for an outstanding lawyer who is sincere, smart, thorough and knows the law, you would be silly not to hire Mr Coats. I dont write reviews, however, he was so outstanding and knowledgeable that I felt the need to let others know about Mr Coats. I guarantee you will not find a finer lawyer than Mr Coats. thank you Mr Coats for everything!!!

Christopher Coats from Coats and Todd law firm assisted me with my SSDI claim. It was a lengthy process however it was well worth it. The first time I met Mr. Todd was at a social security hearing after being denied 3 previous times. The hearing went better than both of us expected in front of a difficult Judge. They were the only ones able to handle the federal level with my disability case. When that fell through they managed to find the SSI side of my case and push that through to get me accepted for SSI. But even if that didnt work, they set me up to try again with themselves handling the SSI. They took care of everything they could, even filling out paperwork since Im not able to write well anymore. All and all they made the process easy, explained what they could for me to make educated decisions on how I wanted my case to go forward. I appreciate the work they did for me, since I had been trying myself for many years, and once they got ahold it got done a bit faster.

I had a good experience with Coats & Todd. They won my case after my first disability hearing was decided unfavorably with a different law firm. Their paralegal staff was always on top of updates to the case, they kept me informed throughout the very long process of applying for SSI, and they always returned my calls when I needed to speak to them. When I had my hearing, my lawyer called me to brief me the day before, and represented me very well at the hearing. I know next to nothing about court proceedings, but it was more than evident that he was an expert at dealing with disability hearings. He also called me directly after the hearing to let me know he thought it had gone well and answer any more questions I had. For over a year I had been trying to get my SSI and Medicaid. I had been denied and not getting anywhere quick. I was referred to Coats and Todd by a family friend who had won their disability case with the help of Coats and Todd as I had done my initial disability application and was denied. The process of new client info. by Coats and Todd is very professional and I was assigned a specialist to help me through the appeal stage and then assigned a paralegel once I had a hearing scheduled. I was able to communicate with Ms. Coats and the paralegel easily with e questions throughout the process. All were very helpful, caring and wonderful to work with. Specifically Ms. Coats is such a wonderful person and a very determined, organized and always honest with my case s flaws. After I won which was pretty much within a week after telephone hearing Ms. Coats s provided a specialist to hep with with the issues of collecting benefits from SS. Screening process alone is already shady, i can tell that they are choosing the clients they want represent, they re typical lawyers who are after what they can get or how much from a potential client but not because they want to help people with disability. (Let s be clear of that) I wouldn t recommend them because there is already lack of sincerity from the start. This person doing the screening wanted to get all the personal information first and then asked questions as to what the situation is and said the answers to those questions will determine if they will accept to move forward or not. I told him, I don t feel comfortable giving out all of our personal information then will get turn down after, I asked if we can go through whatever questions he may on his checklist first, sure enough he told me they don t represent anyone under 18 years of age after I have discussed what was going on which is very surprising to me because when I sent my inquiry I specifically said I m looking for someone to represent my child who is 12 years old. Then and there alone they should already responded to me that they cannot do it because she s under 18 but they kept calling me and when I finally answered, this intake person wanted all my child detailed demographics and when I said I want to answer whatever questions he has first because I don t want to share all those information and then get turn down. So he basically asked what the situation is and when I answered he then proceeded to tell me they don t represent anyone who is under 18. Like I mentioned he could ve save both of us time if he had just told me that the very first time when I initially mentioned right away it s for my daughter who is 12 years old! That s why I said they re shady. It s always about the money not helping people like what you re advertising.

Would not even talk to me! Ive been unable to use my arm for over a year and every job I do will require use of my right arm! I cant even sit comfortably. The pain at this point is often unbearable. Im not even able to get Healthcare assistance to get the meds I need! They helped my dad but are not even interested in speaking with me! They took away all my anxiety. There was so much paper work to be filled out and filed multiple times. Coats and Todds team took care of everything. I didnt have to call about how my case was going because they CALLED ME FIRST. You dont get excellent service like that anywhere else. Ms. Coats took my case to court. Shes very, very smart, and explains things before and after court. Coats and Todds team still checks in on me, even afterwards. They truly have your back and sincerely care about their clients! Ive worked for two attorneys in my lifetime and they were nowhere near as GREAT as Coats and Todd. From the scale of 1-10, they are an 11.

I am posting this to recant state and apologize about the previous post I made about the law offices of Coats and Todd. I was just relating the facts of an interaction that I had with the person who answered the phone. It was not an attempt to impugn, degrade or to imply that they were not a reputable law firm. I spoke with a gentleman named Chris he was very professional. We discussed the situation and it was determined that a third party service was involved. He assured me that the issue will be dealt with. I am currently seeking representation and their expertise and will consider it an honor to be represented by their firm. I got lucky and called Coats and Todd to file for disability. I have consistently been employed since age 18 and did not know if I would qualify for disability. Coats and Todd accepted my case, kept open lines of communication and informed me every step of the way. Catherine I. Coats called me on May 28, 2019 to prepare me for my hearing. In the beginning of the call Catherine Coats did not seem like a person who was on my side. Later in the call she said she was acting as devils advocate, and explained what was in my favor. Catherine prepared me extremely well for the hearing. May 29, 2019, I met Catherine Coats for my hearing. Fortunately, the Judge was compassionate towards me and I avoided all of those worse case scenario questions. The judge gave the Vocational Expert a hypothetical situation of a person who could not preform previous jobs nor any job in the national market. Reasons: 1. Coats and Todd accumulated every medical record that existed for the last few years. 2. Coats and Todd presented all medical records rather the records favored my position or contradicted my position. 3. Catherine Coats was extremely honest to me and the Judge. June 17, 2019, the offices of Coats and Todd informed me that I received Full Approval. Coats and Todd expressed respect to myself as well as Social Security. Catherine Coats told me she wanted to win the case out of her ambition and to benefit me. Coats and Todd are very selective about the cases they accept; therefore, can be honest to the Judge and Social Security. I felt like giving up many times; however, Coats and Todd continued to ensure me that they accept credible cases and continue to the end with their clients. My outcome is spectacular!! Called to get help for appeal. Representative got my hopes up and then wasted my time spoke to 2 different people the first person was patient second person named Brandon not so much had to answer some questions as a standard procedure to ensure they could take my case was on the phone for over a hour wich I did not mind but when I asked them to hold or call me back while I got more information for accuracy I realised once back on the phone Brandon hung up no call back, voicemail or email left. Now I was placed on hold several times on duration of call and did not mind waiting but the one time I asked Company to wait it was a problem. I could not believe it. On a good note I ended up finding a better company with patience to help with my appeal and all has been great! Update 2019: Coats & Todd just responded to my review to cover there butts. Point proven. Suddenly No Brandon, No records for my call. You all beware of this company. Read the other reviews before you waste time with a bunch of liars and impatient representatives like I did. Lesson learned! On a good note I did thorough research and checked all reviews the second time and found another company last year that was amazing!! All went well with my case. Great firm with patience that was with me every step of the way and never forgot or lost me in the system.
