(Keep in mind we are from Louisiana). We wanted something different and decided to try The Boiling Crab. Overall it was okay. I say that because we are from Louisiana and seafood boils are an everyday thing here. The boil had a different twang to it. It was a little bit spicy. The crabs were BIG. I liked the potatoes. Some were hard but since I knew I wasnt going to eat all of my boil, I didnt say anything to the waitress. The service was good.

This is the worst Boiling Crab I ve ever been to. We usually go to the one on Audelia Rd, but this one was a huge disappointment. The shrimp was so mushy, the wings were undercooked, and the calamari tasted fake. On top of that, the service was absolutely horrible. Definitely not coming back here.

My last experience here was terrible, so I wanted to give an honest review. We went yesterday. My snowcrab was gritty, and I paid 30 bucks for 1 claw with 4 tiny legs and a teensy claw, had to order another crab (30 bucks) just to feel like Id ate, and we had fries before the crab. *I should have took pics. Please note:1 lb of snow crab legs is about 3 clusters. This does vary depending on the crabs size. Generally, youre looking at 2 to 3 clusters or 8 to 12 legs. The weight will include the body section that big white piece attaching all the legs together. I dont want to think theyre cheating, but it really seems like thats the case. We get far more food at AwShucks when we order the same thing!! I used to like this place but its gone down terribly. I gave 2 stars because its clean, and the entire wait staff was kind, although our own waiter was terrible. We wont be back for a very, very, very long time. Hopefully things improve.

Ive been going to the boiling crab for a while in several states. Wanted to treat my son during our last visit with some fried scallops, which he had never tried. When our waitress brought his plate, she brought us about 5 small breaded pieces that looked like small breaded shrimp and a bunch of fries. I know people complain about shrinkflation, but this is just ridiculous. Common Boiling Crab do Better!!!! The scallops are the most expensive fried item on your menu, its not like your food is cheap!!! Update: Response by the restaurant says plate comes with 8 scallops, but the plate pic shows they served 7 and size was that of small shrimp. STOP SHRINKING PORTIONS

I have frequently visited The Boiling Crab in Southern California, it is a must every single time I go to visit family... I discovered recently that they are in Texas to so I jus had to go! I went in Saturday afternoon about 4pm. It wasnt crazy busy, there was no wait. I was seated in a booth that was very comfortable with various TVs. The service was all star amazing! My table was checked in on frequently and there were several offers to refill drinks made. I appreciated how attentive and friendly everyone was. Now, I didnt take pictures of the food because I was so excited... it did not disappoint!! I loved every single bite! I got a bag with shrimp, sausage and potatoes, whole shebang mild... all the flavor! Ive definitely missed it. My guest got a catfish basket with mild Cajun fries and shrimp basket with lemon pepper fries... they left the baskets empty so Im going to gander a guess here and say they were phenomenal too. It wasnt as fun of an experience as the shared shenanigans with family but the FOOD was on point !! Highly recommend. Great experience... even if it is on the messy side

Actually very disappointed with our last visit on 7/14. We ve been here multiple times and it s usually exceptional. During this last visit I am so sad I wasted $250. It was my birthday dinner and I was showing friends this spot and the ball was dropped majorly. The waitstaff is usually so attentive but I guess a bunch of kids were working unmanaged. We had to ask multiple times for refills. We had to ask for our lemons and bibs and gloves. All of our bags came out separate which has never happened before. The food all came out at different times, I got my crawfish 35 minutes before my king crab?! The crawfish was dirty and grainy, the snow crab was delicious but took 45 minutes to come out, the King crab was so overcooked it was all stringy and a HUGE waste of $70. We watched our waiter spend most of his time messing around with his friends. Anytime he was at our table he wouldn t listen to what we wanted or even tried. He would come say one thing and leave without asking us for refills or anything. We came in 2 hours before close so I wouldn t recommend that to anyone. Overall this was such a damaging experience I doubt I will ever revisit this business again.

Felt it was a little over priced for the other seafood options but definitely worth it. Would have rated 5 for service had the potatoes werent missing when served first with the shrimps, but thanks to it getting corrected later.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Boiling Crab, and it was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment I walked in, the vibrant atmosphere and friendly staff made me feel right at home. The crawfish was cooked to perfection juicy, flavorful, and seasoned just right. The variety of sauces and spice levels catered to all taste preferences, ensuring everyone in our group was satisfied. The garlic butter sauce, in particular, was a standout! Not only was the food incredible, but the service was also top-notch. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations. The portion sizes were generous, offering great value for the price. The casual, fun dining experience, complete with bibs and gloves, made it an enjoyable and memorable outing. The Boiling Crab is a must-visit for any seafood lover. I cant wait to return and indulge in their delicious offerings again. Five stars all the way!

EDIT: 5/3/2024 this is an update to the response from the restaurant. What the restaurant said was correct, and I said nothing to the contrary. They do weigh accurately, however, they weigh the unedible portions of the lobster as well. The blue crabs are weighed accurately, but there are very little edible portions to begin with. 5/2/2024 The atmosphere is friendly, the servers are nice, but the reason I put three stars is as follows. Simply be aware that though they charge by the pound, they serve by serving sizes. This means if you expect to get a pound of crabs legs, you will only get four crab legs in the case of a snow crab, and be charged according to the way. If you order the lobster, its $40 a pound at this time, however, they weigh the lobster based on the entire body. Only the claws and the tail are really edible, and my lobster came with one claw. Their soda machine needs to be cleaned and maintained, my iced tea tasted like root beer. The snow crabs are absolutely not worth it because the weight of the entire crab maybe 1 lb for 13 at this time, however, the total meat and a snow crab is negligible. When I say negligible, I mean, you could fill up on sunflower seeds sooner. I believe the way that they charge their prices is a bit inflated and they play around with how they weigh and what they consider to be a pound, but nonetheless I paid for it and Im not complaining about the price. I am only letting you, the reader, know what to expect. This place might be good if you decide to get a bag full of shrimp or crawfish, but the more expensive items is fluffed up. In short, I filled up on potatoes and corn. For $128.

I tried to order extra sha bang bang sauce previously on Uber eats and was told that I couldn t. On this day, I called my order in and was told that extra sauce would be approximately $5. I politely declined. There also weren t any naps in my bag when I picked up my order. I rated this restaurant a 3 because of those things but I ll be back because that shrimp is definitely one of a kind!

I called earlier to place the take-out order. When I arrived, there was one host/security at the entrance inside the restaurant. He greeted and asked if the pick-up or dine-in. Then he instructed me to wait at the pick-up/check-out desk. Another staff member came and asked the name on the order. He quickly checked my order status and brought it out; then, processed the check-out quickly. The whole pick-up process was easy and quick. The staff member was friendly and very helpful. The order was 2lb cajun shrimp and the Gumbo. The shrimp and the Gumbo tasted very delicious. The Cajun sauce was awesome. However, some of shrimp was quite mushy and the head was broken from the shrimp body. It s probably overcooked or the shrimp might be not fresh. The establishment looked clean and spacious; half of the restaurant was not open for seating though. The restroom was bright and clean. There was a wide sink outside the restroom; you don t need to get into the restroom to wash the hands. It s quite convenient to the customers as their hands always get dirty when digging in to the seafoods. Parking: Lots of parking space outside the restaurant.

I ended up at the boiling crab on accident meaning to go to Outback. I am glad I made the mistake and stayed because this dinner was delicious. I am not much of a seafood person so I got the chicken tenders which were good. The best part of the meal were the delicious onion rings and french fries. I got them both with medium Cajun Seasoning. The were some of the best fries Ive ever had. Service was fantastic as well. I highly recommend.

I was in town for work and stopped by here for dinner one night. The food was great! I got the boiled shrimp, potatoes, corn and boiled eggs..kinda weird but wanted to try. The seasoning for the bag was plentiful. I had Hamilton as my waiter and he was very attentive. I will definitely be back!

We relished our modest meals at The Boiling Crab. I opted for a pound of boiled shrimp at $16 per pound, while my husband chose the fried shrimp meal, approximately $14. The prices are quite reasonable, and the attentive waitstaff regularly checked in with each table to ensure our needs were met.

Highly recommend the shrimp with the whole sha-bang seasoning with sweet potato fries on the side! It was soooo good! Service was great. We usually go to the Dallas location. It was our 1st time at the Plano location and it did not disappoint.

We visit most of their locations never had one time bad experience it s a casual seafood place not An open bar or winery tasting , nor an upscale restaurant, if you have a bad experience simply talk to one of their Managers and for sure they will solve any concern , NO I DONT WORK FOR THEM LOL , but some negative reviews is quite OFF too bring down a local business in such way , using the word ( Ga ge ) it show what kind Of manners you raised on . Period .

I just love the shrimp in a bag here, my favorite flavor is the whole Sha-bang! If you like spicy, medium is your flavor, the place is big but can be crowded sometimes, they also have crab legs, mussels, and chicken strips for kids.

So glad they opened this place closer to home! The wait is much shorter than the original location. The sauce is still awesome as well. The only thing is short a star due to the last couple times I have gone there, the pound of snow crab legs was more like half a pound. We normally get 2-3 crab clusters and we only got one the last couple of times. Other than that, the food, service and atmosphere is great. Location is excellent, right off the 75 highway. We came here when they first opened and of course visited since so its always fun finding our names on the wall. Everyone here has been great and kept our drinks filled. Definitely check them out if you are in the mood for crab legs, shrimp and you are in Plano.

my experience was good!! i had a party of 3 and we waited for the booth which took about 5 mins. they had just serverd the last dungeness crab they had before we got there at 5:30pm on saturday. they were also out of live crawfish. we got shrimp and blue crab legs. also got sweet potato fries, they were the right size between thin/thick. crab was so good!! we also got the rajun cajun original sauce, medium. it was a little spicy. you technically have the ability to eat it with as much/little sauce as you want, so i would recommend it medium unless you really dont like spice! the service was good and i would come again. i dont know if they knew or not but when we asked for a fork (as in the little metal forks to scoop out the rest of the meat from the crab leg) they gave us plastic forks. but they had the two crab cutting tools. overall great!! they also provide plastic gloves if you dont want your hands getting dirty, and wet wipes at the end with the bill

DO NOT EAT HERE. I tried to split a check with cash and card, then the waiter pocketed $40 cash and charged the entire bill to my card. When attempting to rectify the situation, the restaurant refused to return my payment and my phone number was blocked. Be wise with where you spend your money because they may just try to scam you out of double your meal price!
