Earl s Kitchen + Bar is a hip and stylish restaurant in Plano s Legacy West. We started with Yuzu Calimari. Our table ordered Steak + Sushi, Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl, Southwest Chicken Avocado Salad, and Earl s Classic Burger with fries. All was good, but the Southwest chicken Avocado Salad was very good. A very good restaurant for business meetings since the noice level is low.

Service is non existent. Food is just ok. Although we never had good service at Earls from previous visits, we decided to give it another try. Big mistake! As usual everything started great but quickly went downhill. Multiple servers came to our table so we didn t have a dedicated server to ask for refills etc I had to go to the bar and refill a drink myself. The servers were all standing around chatting. Come to Earls kitchen if you want crappy service. Spend your money somewhere else. Never agin!

My daughter and I came here on Sunday 5pm for dinner. It was a good experience, the food was good as well but for it to receive a 5star from me it had to go above and beyond or something really special. This place was good. And I will definitely come back but there was nothing outstanding about it. Actually hearing the staff go on about drama behind my table was annoying but still a good experience! We both enjoyed our meals! We ordered charred corn and avocado and spicy crab roll to start. The roll could ve had more flavor but still decent. Dip was good overall. I ordered the miso bass with mushroom risotto instead of quinoa and it was also decent. Nothing special. My daughter ordered the carne tacos and enjoyed them. The crème brûlée cheesecake was good as well.

So I havent eaten meat in about 25 years. I was clear with the server when I ordered the vegan garden burger since there was a similar vegetarian item on another part of the menu. The burger brought to me was the vegan bun/condiments but a meat patty. I took a bite thinking it was some version of seitan. It was not. My omnivorous friend tried it and confirmed that it was meat. The server had sent the order in wrong because she was trying to make it gluten free. I never asked for gluten free anything. She was polite and said sorry. The manager was polite and said sorry. Neither were overly convincing in their apology. They brought me a new one which was vegan but not very good (its a test item they should not keep). The only reason they comped that part of my bill was because my friend asked. The appetizer I had was lackluster. The drink I ordered was pretty good but we wont be going back. Dietary restrictions: Not vegan friendly even with advertised plant based options.

*July 2024 update: Visited for lunch with 3 friends. It took about 10 minutes after being seated for the server to get our drink order. A glass of coke is $4.95, and my lunch was over $20. The service was still a bit slow, especially for the lunch rush, but Im increasing my rating because the food was very delicious. And it was fun to people watch while sitting out on the patio! Ive been here several times since I work nearby. Love the food but the service is horrible. With every visit there has aleays been a 15 minute or more wait after being seated. Today, we were seated for 12 minutes and no one had been to our table to take my drink order. I finally found the Hostess who seemed shocked when I told her I had been waiting. I went back to my table and waited another 10 minutes before deciding to leave. A few months I went with a large group for a special lunch. We waited for almost an hour and NO FOOD after ordering. The manager apologized and gave us all giftcards. I eventually gave the giftcard to a friend a vowed never to go again. But today, I decided to give them another chance and bam! And that same manager was on duty lol. So, Im 100% sure at this point that neither myself or my coworkers are goung back. Ive never given any restaurant 1 star but this place deserves it. Message to the Owner: Although your staff is cute and young, they should still understand the importance and value of providing good customer service. And they should also know that its not a good look to be standing around gossiping when its busy during lunch hours. It may be a good idea to hire more experienced staff. I expected more as this is the Legacy location!

I rarely post negative comments about a restaurant. But I will this time. I walked out of this restaurant feeling highly dissatisfied and displeased. I was mistreated by one of the managers here. Let me tell you what happened. I ordered a steak & frites and was misinformed on the pricing of the dish. I ended up grossly overpaying as the bill for my dish was more than double the correct amount. It took 20 minutes for one of the managers to come to my table, and she asked for an explanation. I asked her to adjust my bill but she told me there is nothing she can do since the transaction has been closed. She offered either free deserts or a gift card. I took upon a gift card option thinking she would provide an enough recompense. Then, it took her another 15 minutes to process it. She gave me the card without revealing the amount or offering any word of APOLOGY. While she gave me a gift card that made up the difference for the pricing, she gave me an impression that I need to hurry up and walk out. It was her rude behavior that irritated me. I was mistreated. This is not the type of impression that you want to leave on your customers. Missteps happen and its fine as long as you redeem yourself. While the server was friendly, the manager was clearly not. I will not recommend this place as I dont want any of my friends to encounter this type of unacceptable mistreatment.

it pains me to say this as a fellow service worker but the service i received my first time here sucked. i had heard of not great experiences here but decided to give it a shot anyways. i was on a date sunday july 21st. we came in around 6ish. i forgot the name of our waiter but he was male and i m pretty sure he was a recent hire (just based on him asking someone else how to check out a table in cash lol). starting off: my boyfriend ordered 2 drinks but only received one (i m pretty sure we weren t charged for it but i ll get to that later). then when we finished our food we had to wait and flag down our waiter for the check. that would ve been fine if he were busy but i could see him chatting with other staff and even glance in our direction. i was not eating, drinking, or even on my phone, just waiting. our water pitcher was empty half way through the meal and not refilled (partially my fault as i had not asked for more but it would ve been nice). after finally flagging our waiter down to get the check, i was not given a receipt (hence being unsure if i was charged for the second drink but again maybe my fault for forgetting to ask). i was just given a number to pay. in an attempt to break the awkwardness i asked him hey, do you have any dessert recommendations i was met with a disinterested uhhh.. not really . again, this would ve been fine if he played it off lightly but i had felt i had asked an unnecessary and unwanted question when i was just trying to cut through the awkwardness. i still tipped (18%) if anyone was worried. anyways, the food was great and the hostess was kind.

Loved having brunch with our friends here over the weekend. The wagyu beef oshi press was amazing and so was the tuna tataki! Absolutely a wonderful experience on a sweet summer day in DFW area. We reserved the table ahead of time for our 25th anniversary dinner. We were seated promptly upon arrival at the place of our choice, outdoors. Our waitress, Olivia, was very courteous and friendly! I mentioned about the occasion to Olivia and she gave us the Sticky Toffee Chocolate Pudding to celebrate. It was a kind gesture my the management, not to charge us for the main course but charged for the drinks and appetizers. We had, Street Corn + Avocado Dip for starter, Vegan Angry Tofu Lettuce Wraps, Southwest Chicken Avocado Salad. Absolutely delicious! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! The new menu is a curation of the best dishes from all the top Cuisines like Japanese, Barbecue, Mexican, French..etc. I had the California Roll and Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl while my wife had the Pork chop. If I could do 0 stars it would still be too much. We were 15 people who came to enjoy a nice dinner and a good time but the waiter was the worst! We waited 1 hour 30 minutes for our food. They brought the food only for 3 people and the rest of us were watching and waiting for ours to come. Finally we got our food, which was cold, and they forgot 2 people s orders so we ended up not eating. The manager came and she only said sorry we have a lot of big tables (not even a good excuse for the horrible service). The waiter never came to check on us or stopped by to serve more water even. Always had an excellent experience. Good food and service. We keep going back. 5/15/24 Earls was my go to restaurant. I am a vegetarian and not a lot of places serve really tasty veg options. I had tried everything on their vegetarian menu and their mango tofu roll and Bangkok bowls were to die for. Really delicious! But as all good things come to an end, this did too. On my last visit, they were no longer available on their menu and had been taken off. I was and am disappointed and not going back.

Went for lunch today with my husband and honestly I don t want to come back. Our steaks came well done, when we ordered medium / medium well. We were very hungry and with an angry baby didn t want to bother to give the food back. ( but is very annoying spending money for something that s not right) We did tell our server our $60 + steak was overcooked and he just said Ok thanks . Not worth it. Took clients there for lunch and ordered the fish. It was supposed to be flakey and juicy, but it was a sliver of fish that was thin and dry. 1!!! It took an hour and 38 minutes just to get a check after I told him I Was ready. I ordered a coke and he never came and refilled it. He barely bought the water pitcher back or filled the water. We went for dinner on Mothers day. What cost them one star in the review was that all mothers were given a rose but we werent. Unfortunately my wife noticed it. Our waitress was actually attentive and engaging, but I was a little irritated when I requested an alcohol free Spritz and got upsold to an Aperol Spritz, and secondly they didnt have cheesecake so we had to make do with creme brulee. Our dining experience left much to be desired. Right from the start, our server seemed annoyed and disinterested. Every question was met with a huff of annoyance, and my father was frequently interrupted when asking questions. Despite the restaurant being only half full, she acted rushed. My father ordered a sushi dish to test, but he didnt enjoy it. When we requested an alternative, she reluctantly accommodated, implying my father lacked cultural appreciation for sushi. We both settled for burgers, which were basic. When we inquired about cooking the beef to a specific temperature, we were told the patties were thin and could only be cooked one way. I disagreed; the kitchen should be able to customize orders. Despite being a simple dish, the food took an exceptionally long time to arrive, and combined with the poor service, we wont be returning.

I always enjoy Earls and try their test kitchen dishes as often as possible. The two latest test dishes were SO good! The Oishii Wagyu sushi and the Tuna Poke Bowl were both GREAT! I would eat the wagyu sushi all day - I hope it becomes a permanent dish. Until it does, y all should GO get it!! The coconut mint margaritas were refreshing and not too sweet, Oysters were fresh and sweet, and the chicken sandwich wasn t bad either (although after everything else, it wasn t the highlight!).

We were a party of 6 on Sunday evening. The initial service was okay, and we were able to get our orders in. Surprisingly, on this visit, some of our party were told they couldnt customize their dish. There was initial confusion regarding the vegan pizza option as the server made sure to point out it included mayo but wasnt sure if it was vegan mayo. After going back and confirming with the kitchen, it is vegan mayo. The vegans in our group were going to order it. One does not like mayo but was told it could not be made without. Both just decided to go with the impossible burgers. My partner and I both ordered the bacon cheeseburger, which was good, but my fries were on the cusp of being served cold. The other two in the party truly enjoyed their dishes. Once the food was served, our server was not attentive. We had to request the water to be refilled, and after someone cleared our dishes and drink glasses, there was no follow-up for the checks. We finally stopped someone else and informed them we were ready for our checks, and he sent our server over. Given the storms that day, the restaurant was not crowded.

Another one meal! I enjoyed the jumbo lump crab cake with greens and a small portion of the harvest seasonal vegetables. The crab cake was packed full of flavor and ingredients tasted very fresh.
