I visited Haywire yesterday with my mom. I heard about this restaurant through a coworker and thought it might be a nice place to visit and I am glad I tried it out. The atmosphere is really nice. When we arrived, we were told to go to the second floor and the host was ready for us with menus in hand. We sat on their side patio which was pretty cool temperature wise given the Texas heat. We had a fantastic waiter named Trevor who was so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. He left no stone unturned when it came to service. We never had to ask for anything. I have a pineapple allergy and he was able to get one of the mocktails made from scratch without pineapple so I could enjoy (the Lady Bird is delicious). My mom tried the Texas Tea and gave it high reviews. If you love lemon, I would highly recommend trying the blueberry biscuits with lemon glaze. The biscuits are small but cooked perfectly and the glaze is a perfect mix of sweet and tart. I created my own vegetable plate and I must say the roasted corn and whipped potatoes were worth coming back for. My mom ordered the ribs and the servings were plentifu and delicious. The entire staff made us feel welcome with their warm smiles and friendly attitude. I can t wait to go back and recommend Haywire to others! Edit: I returned to Haywire yesterday for my 30th birthday and was served by Sky. She was fantastic! She was very attentive and provided me with excellent service. I ordered a veggie plate and the food was delicious as always. I finally tried a dessert and the bread pudding was to die for! I even did a little happy dance. Thank you for the great service!

The used car lot of fine dining. We had a group of 16. Every single interaction with server was an upsell, some fairly pressure: No I dont want a double What are you, scared? Beyond that, server added multiple apps and desserts that we didnt order...in the case of deserts, only 2 people asked for desserts, server says Ill bring several for the table. When he brought we said we didnt order this he says they ordered for you no, no they didnt. This morning, rather than talking about the fantastic food, the team is talking about the terrible upselling.

Over the years, Haywire has become a spot to celebrate with my family and friends. From special dinners, to anniversaries, and even Valentines, it is safe to say I look forward to visiting. My last visit was no different! The atmosphere is great, and I love the seating. The food was just a little less impressive than the previous times I went. The cornbread tasted slightly different, and the ribs were just a tad overcooked, but still yummy. Still giving it a high rating, because I had a great time!

Edit I upped this from 4 to 5 stars gave this place a try again and had a wonderful experience. I finally got a reservation to take my in laws out for an early father s day brunch. We were not greeted at all when our party arrived at the second floor hostess station. The staff was talking amongst themselves when our part arrived. There was 4 staff and not one said welcome or hi or anything they were talking among themselves and we stood there waiting to be greeted. only later did I find out that one of them was actually a manager. When we arrived I noticed a young lady braiding her hair at the hostess station which I found incredibly bizarre behavior for a restaurant. This was also the gal they decided to have seat us. she picked up our menus etc. and walked us to our tables I told her very quietly and politely just a heads up walking into a restaurant and seeing the hostess braiding her hair and touching menus etc. is a little odd since this is a restaurant her mood instantly changed, she apologized but got really rude. I said its a food place so it just seems odd to see that, but your hair is beautiful. she set the menus down and stormed off rudely. it was weird because I was discreet with her to let her know like hey you should low-key not not do that. but she got so rude and storming off just put a bad taste. So now we have very low expectations of what our experience would be. that changed when our waitress showed up. DJ was AWESOME!! She was an amazing waitress!! super attentive, listened to everything and was incredible. she was what made the experience memorable. the food was good, but honestly she was the best waitress we have ever had. We asked to speak to the manager just so we could rave about her, we wanted to make sure that someone understood how awesome she is as waitress. I tried to express the experience with the hostess and the manager did NOT care. His facial expression changed completely and he did not ask any questions about the experience or seem to even care about staff literally braiding her hair at the hostess station??? he seemed nice that we were complimenting our waitress and reminded us her name if wanted to request her again, but had ZERO interest in our experience with the hostess. So the manager was meh and really didnt care about feedback or improvement. I was shocked he was the manager because he just did not seem to care about the feedback. This place will survive/go on without my opinion or review simply based on its location; I understand that, but I feel its important for the actual owners/management team to know what is happening in their establishment. It is legitimately gross to have someone full on braiding their hair and then touching the menus and handing them to you. The manager did NOT care that staff was not attentive at the front. He was also joining in on the not greeting and just chatting with them. The front end host staff was terrible and if this was the only experience I would never attend again. I am glad I got to experience the food and actual wait staff as they made up for the terrible front end experience. but the front of house hostess is the first and last you see so should be the NICEST and they were the absolute worst. There are way too many places in this area to frequent for me spend money at for brunch for this type/level of service and I simply expect better. The food: Queso was cold and not good, fried green tomatoes were delicious, onion rings and elk tacos delicious, the lamb burger with guajillo potatoes, the lamb burger was amazing I would not order the potatoes again (too greasy and no flavor), my husband had the meatloaf it was delicious one of the best weve had. In laws had ribs and chicken fried steak both reported they were delicious. Overall, this place is an expensive/pretentious trip and we would expect top level service from the door to the end and we did not receive that. Food is a 4.5, waitress was a 5, hostess is a 1, manager is a 3, location/ambience is a 5. overall rating 3.7 so I gave it 4 stars.

I have been several times at this restaurant. Tonight 09/21/24, me and my husband ordered steak. The quality of the food was wonderful and it tasted amazing - no complaints here. However, it was the second time now, that the waiter brought me a 8 oz steak, stuffed with garlic, although I clearly ordered the 6 oz steak without garlic. I even stated, the smaller steak is enough for me and I don t want garlic. He was very persistent and explained that 6 oz would be very small and I should order the bigger one. I kept repeating no thank you, I go with the 6 oz steak what s so difficult to unterstand that I don t want garlic inside my steak and 6 oz is totally enough for my appetite?! Long story short: of course, the waiter brought the bigger, garlic stuffed steak and he acted like he got confused. I was too nice as I didn t want to make a big deal and decided not to send it back to the kitchen and simply said it would be fine. Of course he charged me more since this is a deja-vu as the exaaact sameee situation happened a few months ago, I start to think they do this on purpose?! That s definitely not okay. This behavior shows me the waiters didn t take me seriously in both occasions which is disrespectful, simple as that.

We had dinner recently at Haywire in Plano and it was spectacular. This was our second visit and it did not disappoint. We started with a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand and it was chilled and delicious. The appetizer of choice this visit was the Fried Green Tomatoes which were lightly battered and had a pair of great sauces; one on top and the other on the plate below the tomatoes. The steaks, both filets, were cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The Pecan Pie was a bit different, more cakey than expected, but the caramel and vanilla ice cream on top took it to the next level. Our server was in training, but you really couldnt tell. We only knew because she said so. I highly recommend Haywire for the food, the atmosphere, and the unexpected, reasonable prices.

So I m late writing this review but we had brunch here for my now sis in laws pre-wedding celebration. When I tell you I wanted to hug my plate! I got the ribs with some mac and cheese and a corn muffin. It didn t come with veggies but it was delicious! That Mac and cheese ooh wee! Had ham chucks in it and breadcrumbs on top! My sister tasted my food and ordered her own! The ribs were absolutely perfect. No one complained about anything. If I visit Texas again anytime soon I m heading straight there, no cap! Also it ll fill you up I had to take some to go lol

Our recent visit to Haywire was delightful! Especially in the cozy whiskey lounge. The atmosphere was inviting and perfect for a relaxing evening. We were lucky enough to be served by Nathan who was an exceptional bartender. Very knowledgeable of whiskey selection which was impressive and his recommendation was excellent! His friendly demeanor and attentive service made us feel at home. While the food took a bit longer than expected, it was the best porkchop Ive had. Absolutely delicious cooked perfectly. We were pleasantly surprised Adrian one of the managers stopped by offered us complimentary appetizers and dessert. His thoughtful gesture made our evening even more special. Overall, our visit to Haywire was a memorable one which I intend on repeating. Total Gem and I recommend it highly, food, service and ambience was perfect. If you are looking for quality dining experience Haywire is the place.

I had a wonderful experience dining at Haywire yesterday evening. Ian, our server, was attentive and ensured our food arrived promptly. I appreciated how he split my steak and my moms sides without us even having to request it. To my surprise, Adrian, a new manager, approached us and inquired about our first time dining at the restaurant. He provided a comprehensive overview of Haywire and expressed his gratitude for our patronage. As a delightful gesture, he presented us with a mouthwatering bread pudding. The attentive service and genuine hospitality of the server and manager made our dining experience truly exceptional. We will definitely be back soon to enjoy another memorable meal. I am visiting from Seattle so this was a special occasion. The dining room was booked so we ate up on the third floor. We were able to have dinner in one of the teepees which comes with its own mini air conditioner. Our server Heejin gave us five star service. The filet mignon melted in my mouth. We also had the crab dip, tossed salad with fresh bleu cheese dressing, roasted asparagus, mashed potatoes and ended with Homestead Cake. We kept telling ourselves how amazing everything was. Kid-friendliness: I would not recommend as I did not see any kid friendly items.

Met a friend for brunch on a Saturday. Food was on the lukewarm side. Portion size was small compared to the price. Drinks were good. This is quite a unique place. I love the decor, the variety of seating options, the view, everything is so original. I cant judge the menu because I was part of a group eating a buffet. But I can tell what was good from the choices I had. The mashed potatoes, green beans, and chicken fried steak were good. The salad and mac & cheese were very good. But the best was the brussel sprouts and fish. I wanted seconds but everyone in my group gobbled it up. Ill also note that the service was super friendly.

I love this place. Plenty of food selections, daily specials or daily new meals, great service, nice wine selection. The redfish was amazing with lump crab and shrimp with Brussels and a salad. Had bread pudding that was amazing and took the pecan sweet potato pie to go. Reservations are suggested and i always book reservations. It s a nice atmosphere. The manager makes herself/himself visible and are always friendly and I can t say enough about the elk tacos. I get them every time. It s an app that comes 3 but i always add a 4th for me and my friend. Parking: I always valet and tip

We were in the area shopping for appliances and our salesman recommended Haywire and we went on a night where there was a concert in the garden which was cool. The food was good, the crab dip and ceveche were delicious. Our steaks were cooked as we ordered them and the sides were also tasty. Drinks were good as well. We attended The Haywire for an event, and upon walking in the place had a great vibe and appeal. We went up to the second floor and were seated. We made a reservation days prior as we were a large party. The service here is top notch. They are on their A Game! We brought a cake, and they put it in the fridge for us till it was time to bring it out. The downside to the place was the food. The menu lacks in options in MY opinion. The one thing that the whole table agreed upon were the onion ring tower was great. The main entrees we got varied from Ribs, Meatloaf, Bass, Chicken etc. The food needed more flavor, example the chicken tasted like it was hit with maybe salt and that was it. My in law ate the meatloaf and he said it was way to mushy and lacked flavor as well as his sides (Asparagus and Cornbread, Mashed Potato). I would recommend this place for perhaps a drink and appetizer. It has a western/modern cowboy feel to it which I liked, just wish the food was a bit better. I do like their sister restaurant in Las Colinas, The Ranch. So maybe it was an off day, I would give it another chance.

we arrived 415 pm sat eve. we earned our lesson quickly . They ask for our reservation we stated we had none they said hang on just a minute and a lady then came to take us to outdoor seating . We asked if we could be seated in side at anyone the many open tables. We were quickly told that since we didnt have a reservation we would have to be seated outside or no where at all . We were shocked with all the open tables remaining inside . So frustrated we just said we will leave . On my way out I spoke briefly with a lady who indicated she was the manger . I explained and she seemed shocked at first and couldnt believe we were turned away . Then she also endorsed the fact that without a reservation they had no seating available inside. We guess they have to much business and didnt need us there so we left . Frustrated as we walked out we looked on line and found by there reservation options they had availability. We went elsewhere . We and been there before and had a great eve . But never again .

Our favorite restaurant for a steak in the N. Dallas area, the mashed potatoes and salads are fantastic, good wine selection, great bread pudding. Tables are often pushed way too close together and it can get incredibly loud, which can be a deal breaker for some people.

Yesterday my best friend and I were craving the charcuterie board because in Oct 2023 it s was amazing (photo on the right). So we had to go back and get it. We were more than disappointed. (Photo on the left) Not only was the portions smaller but they changed it!! It was mediocre at best. The sauce was like a runny watered down raspberry jam. No idea what that white sauce was but not good and it tasted sour like it went bad. For as much as it was for 2 items, that bill shouldn t be anywhere near $65 that was spent. With that being said, whose idea at corporate was to change it? Don t fix what s not broken Unfortunately , we won t be coming back.

Excellent, even for a grumpy, old man like me. I had the pork chop and I would eat that every day. Its so tender & thick, youd swear it would be raw, but its perfect throughout. I think theyre doing the hot water cooking, then grilling. Definitely recommend the rice and I generally dont like rice.

The atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing here with plenty of seating. The kitchen has an open design, so you can see the chefs creating their masterpieces. Large bars with ample liquor choices. We all started with the crab dip that came with warm pita bread to dip. It was delicious. I had the 13oz ribeye. It was cooked unevenly, but to my liking. The side I chose was the brussel sprouts, and they were seasoned and cooked perfectly My wife got the burger and fries with chipotle ranch. She said the burger had wonderful flavor and that the fries were the best she ever had! Now Im sad I didnt give them a try. For dessert, we had the bread pudding and the pecan cake. Both were very decadent. Star was our server, and she was definitely a star to us! Our drinks were always full, and she wanted to make sure everything was perfect. Had a delicious meal here today. Went as a group with a toddler, infant, and baby and the staff was so attentive and helpful with it all. Plenty of room whether inside or outside. Our food was absolutely delicious and everyone really enjoyed it down to the last bite. Chicken Fried Steak: Perfectly battered and fried with a nice kick from the gravy. The steak was tender and flavorful. The green beans were sautéed to perfection with a nice snap to them. The mashed potatoes were nice and buttery and with almost a slight tanginess to them which threw me off at first but grew to like. Haywire BBQ Ribs: Tender ribs almost fall off the bone. The sauce was sweet but also tangy which gave it a nice balance. The corn bread had a delicious sweet crust and also very soft and moist. Bourbon Smash: Very refreshing cocktail especially on a hot day. It almost went down like water so you can consider it a bit dangerous. Haywire: It was an alright drink nothing to rave about at $14. Would I get it again probably not. Overall, had a great time and meal. The atmosphere is lively and the service is amicable and food came out at a great pace. I brought my bf here for Father s Day and I was really disappointed in our experience. The food was good, the drinks were okay and the place itself was nice but our service was horrible. Our server seemed extremely unhappy to serve us, she was very rude and wouldn t even reply when we would say thank you. She brought us our check without us even asking for it. The other staff seemed nice and I wish we would ve gotten a different server and maybe our experience would ve been a better one. I called for a reservation on the third floor at 2 PM today. I was told that they don t take reservations on the third floor his first come first serve. unannounced when I get here the section that I was requesting was reserved. I reserved when you guys said they don t reserve nothing on the third floor. I was told it was a special guess my response was just like a special guess. I have to talk to the manager. The manager came over and said it was above her pay grade for that decision. I asked for the managers manager she said she would go and get them.. they never came back. Finally the manager said just go sit there and we ll sit them over another section. An hour and a half later the people that reserved the table as well came in and said they reserve the spot and I asked the manager to tell them what was actually going on in her comment was she was afraid. I was surprised I said you were afraid of me. I didn t say nothing that was fearing towards you. I didn t threaten you. I didn t say nothing out of ordinary. I wasn t cursing. I was just adamant to the fact that you guys said you don t reserve tables on the third floor. at this point I m offended because she s afraid of Black people and she is a blonde manager. Came here to celebrate a milestone. I always have a good time at Haywire but my visit last night was off putting. First I was asked for my card to start a tab when I sat & ordered my drink . I have been there several times and was never required to pay before ordering. It felt profiled. I let the waitress know I wasn t interested in starting a drink tab just wanting a drink with my meal. I ordered the garlic stuffed filet. There was no garlic in it . Sent it back. 5 minutes later it s brought back to me cold pointing out garlic is inside. I say okay. Slice the steak, there s no garlic . Waitress disappeared for 15 minutes then comes and asked is all okay. I say there s no garlic, please get your manager. Manager comes and apologizes and admits they have been having that issue with their filets. She offers to take it off the bill and removes the plate. I m STARVING at this point so I ask for what I initially ordered to be made. Manger says sorry, kitchen is closed. So y all gave be the run around all night about my order and you have the audacity to remove the only thing I would have had to eat? When I asked if she could just leave the plate and comp the steak she said sure as if she was doing me a favor Good customer service would have been allowing the customer to keep the meal and remove it from the bill for YOUR MISTAKE especially if the KITCHEN IS CLOSED!

Texas cuisine great atmosphere. I visited twice in under two weeks. I came 40 minutes before close for dinner and Rider was my server he gave 5 star service. I frequented this location multiple times. I can honestly say most of the times I would easily give it 4-5 stars for the food, service and ambiance, but unfortunately just when we thought we could depend on this location to deliver its usual quality for our anniversary lunch, it failed miserably. The drinks were fantastic as usual and arrived quick. For the minimal number of customers present (we arrived for a late lunch), the food took a little long. I enjoyed my plate of blackened catfish and shrimp with Cajun corn. The extra side of broccolini was fantastic. My wife had the opposite experience where she could barely go for a second bite of her ribs. It seems they ve changed the recipe as the ribs were beyond dry... I m talking chalk-level dry and stringy meat. We politely brought it to the server s attention and switched to a filet. It took forever to arrive, come to find out the chefs switched shifts and forgot our filet so they overcooked it and had to cook another one, which wasn t cooked to the right temperature either. I may give it another try because of my previous positive experience, but I certainly won t ever order their ribs again.

If you cant get a table, then try to find a spot at the bar. The charcuterie board is one of the better ones around, and the workers are always very friendly. When you order Prime Rib at $46.00, you expect a quality piece of meat. My jaw got tired from chewing, as it was as tough as if I was at a $12.99 all you can eat buffet. All you could taste was the smoke flavor, as it was overpowering. My first thought was that they werent even serving USDA Choice grade. We also had the pork chop which, again, all you could taste was the chile seasoning. It was overpowering. Didnt finish that one either. The Brussel sprouts were burnt to a crisp. There is a difference between caramelized and burnt to a crisp. Someone in the kitchen killed them but served them anyway. The service was the best part, as he was very attentive. Went for lunch with family and order the ceviche, crab dip, blackened shrimp and catfish and my brother in law and sister had the lamb burger. For dessert we had the whiskey bread pudding! 1st visit here and atmosphere and decor make at first a great impression. We had been given a gift certificate and came to spend it all. We were familiar with location next to Legacy West Food Hall and choose arrive at north end of Windrose Ave and go into parking garage. 3d/4th level usually open. I added a photo of map to give you better direction. Then take the elevator down to street and you are right there. Making a reservation is best. Most dining is on 2d floor. Some dining on 1st floor and there is a 3d floor for more stuff. Or sit on outside balcony overlooking ground level entertainment area. Elevator is available. One downside is the noise level in dining area. Very hard to talk to someone next to you because everyone is taking to person next to them or shouting across the table to be heard. Not a place for engaging in family conversations. Next bone to pick is slow bar service. We ordered drinks before the main order and they came far too slow. Food was excellent; one filet and one meatloaf entre. The meatloaf meal was a better price for the amount of food served compared to filet. The Charred Broccolini side dish was very under cooked so I only ate the tips. Bummer. We had finished our before dinner drinks and ordered wine but bar service was too slow so we cancelled. If we had gotten the wine promptly we might have ordered a dessert. Slow bar service cost them wine and dessert revenue. Our waitress was good but handicapped by bar. Paying for meal is easy as the staff brings a hand held credit card reader so it all takes place at table. Bottom line: best if someone else is paying as the supper menu costs, be prepared for loud atmosphere and if there is a crowd slow bar service. We were there on weekday and it was 2/3 full on 2d floor from 6-7pm.
