The park has a historic info panel and picnic bench, but you have to cross the creek to get to the Muncey family gravesite. I am happy that this early colonial site has been acknowledged and the wildlife preservation area set up.

In 1976, my friends lived across the street from a marker and it was this one, different marker. Before we ever knew about the marker, we used the Oijie (spelling) board. A boy named Bob started talking to me for hours...came back the next day, hours more. I talked to his brother, Will, only once. I can t make out what the marker says in your pictures. But I do remember that it said that the last of the Indians were cleared out (dead). The Muncy family lived there and they were killed. Bob has been with me ever since. Not sure about Will cuz he was pretty quiet. I could go on and on, but it would take hours for all of the details. I had to correct 2 words, but I posted this about 2-3 years ago.

This burial location is easy to access, doesnt matter if you park at the Mustang Building on K Avenue, or access the cemetery by the nature preserve off Jupiter Road. If you park at the Mustang Building, go around the building and park at the parking spots facing the field. You should see the large headstone if you park at the very first spot. Because of the new building being built right next to Mustang, either access the cemetery by the Nature Preserve off Jupiter Road, or use the Mustang Building on a Sunday. There will be a heavy construction worker presence until 5 PM.
