Ok so there are a million restaurants in Dallas, right? A good chunk of those are Asian restaurants too, right? WELL, if you haven t been to Yao Fuzi and at minimum tried the soup dumplings stop what you re doing right now, get in the car, and get yourself there. These things are literally injected with a magical soup broth that seems like a Wonton soup made in reverse order. You have to pop the entire dumpling in your mouth and the minute you pierce into it with your teeth the explosion of flavor leaves you with only two questions. Where is the next dumpling and did we order enough? Our table got three orders and I m still not certain if that was enough! The rest of the meal was absolutely dynamite which included the Crushed Red Pepper Beef, Kung Pao Chicken, Chicken Fried Rice, Fuzi Prawns, and a Salmon Fried Rice. Literally, every dish was perfect! I got to try them all except for the Prawns (my no longer friend was not willing to share haha). It was and still is extremely hard to decide which dish was the best. They were all THAT good! What are you waiting for? Get to Yao Fuzi!!

The food was amazing. We ordered so many times from this place. We really wanted to try food at the restaurant. The service was so bad. Not sure if something happened to the person who was waiting our table or she was just being mean. She gave us hot water, didn t even ask what we wanted and went away. She came back 15 minutes later and asked if we were ready. We said the water didn t have ice. She said, oh Indians usually order without ice. We ordered ice tea with our appetizers. Iced tea never came. We had to ask for it when she came back with main entrees. None of the waiters made eye contact and we sat there waiting.

We have dined her for many years but have not been back in awhile. We had a group of 10. Everyone agreed that the yu Xiang eggplant, and crispy beef were fantastic. I enjoyed the slow braised pork with baby bok choy. Prepared perfectly. Definitely can t believe it has been so long since we dined here. Plan is to get back soon.

You know when you have eaten at an establishment many many times, and have your go to dishes , that you order time and time again, well this time they felt really off. pepper beef , normally a standout , was bland & tough , noodles with pork were dry and lacked sauce. Both dishes that eaten at the restaurant would have been better.

Kung Pao Chicken was tasteless. Crab meat fried rice had very little crab. For $24, I should see some crab in my dish. This place is very expensive and the food was barely edible. Avoid To go was an event too. Guy on the phone didnt want to be bothered. Hostess was annoyed I was there to pick up my food.

Weve been coming here for years. We fell in love with the food, but we fell in love with the place during the Beijing Olympics. This is an upscale beautiful Chinese restaurant that doesnt try to steal from your pocketbook like another location that I can mention. Theyve continued to expand, which is wonderful. One of the first things I fell in love with is they offer you the option of choosing white meat or dark meat chicken. However I go with whatever they want as long as I get my jalapeno chicken! Enjoy this place, enjoy the atmosphere, enjoy the food, and enjoy the wonderful service and sense of family!

First time to try this place for lunch. I ordered the mapo tofu and the Za jiang Mian noodles (reminded me of Korean black bean noodles). The Mapo Tofu was very good! My two dishes were not lunch optional. My friends had the lunch special jalapeno chicken, Singapore noodles, sesame chicken, and Gen Yaos chicken. Everyone enjoyed their food. I dont mind coming back to try some of their other dishes.

Once upon a time my family and I were considered regulars, when I first had my 2nd child we would come eat here all the time. There was a specific lady (she had a sharp cut bob about shoulder length) she was the only waitress who recognized that my husband was mixed with Vietnamese. She treated us like family at the time my youngest was about 1 years old she would make it difficult for us to eat because she d be fussy and whiny. But that one waitress would take her for walks looking at the fish and just simply talk to her so that my husband and I could eat peacefully. Well tonight we ate here for the first time in some years. I saw the same lady from before but I don t think she recognized us. But we had a different waitress this time. The food was great per usual but the service was not. Our waitress was extremely attentive to her other few tables but for some reason we had to flag her down when we needed something. As I looked around I noticed my family and I were the only black family in the entire establishment. Not sure if that had impact on the type of service we received but it definitely went UNNOTICED. I was very disappointed and told my husband we would not be returning. In a predominantly Chinese establishment where the caucasian race was treated with more care and consideration than the Black American customers is not ok. Everyone should be treated equally with the same respect and care regardless of the amount being tipped or even the color of their skin.

Y all this was the worse experience I ve ever had. And it wasn t even the food my food was pretty good but on the other hand my husband s food could ve been better. But this review is about the customer service for US. we had a reservation for 7:45 and got there about 10 minutes early. We were seated pretty quickly and got our drinks in somewhat a timely matter. When the waiter came to our table she didn t even introduce herself so I don t know her name she just asked what do you want to drink after receiving our drinks she didn t come to our table for another 45 minutes. But we saw her come to everyone s else s table servicing them and having casual conversation with them. We had an event to go to afterwards so we were already on a time crunch. So when she FINALLY came back to our table she said what for food so we told her our appetizer AND out entree orders. After this encounter we were waiting for almost an our to just receive our ONE appetizer. We noticed a couple beside us came in and she took their order and brought out their food in a matter of 30 minutes they ate and finished their food and got their checks before we even received our food. She took their plates AND bagged their food for them. Y all we finally received our APPETIZER and we again waited forever to be serviced after that she came to our table and said are you gonna eat that. We had the dumplings and ate them all but ONE . anyways after waiting we finally received our meals. At this point we were frustrated and ready to go because it was clear she was treating us differently than her other customers.. we asked for thick so we could just leave. When we asked for to go boxes instead of taking our plates and boxing them up for us like did EVERYONE ELSES she put our boxes on the table and left. I hate to make it about race but we were the ONLY POC in the establishment and we could definitely feel it. We were treated so differently than the other customer around us. We never complain we are a young couple who just mind our business and be kind but we definitely felt disrespected I d never come back and would not recommend!!!!

Great for a quick bite Terrible for a night out with family and friends. Been coming here for years but this time was different. Keep in mind, they close at 10pm we get there 8:45pm (most restaurants don t close the kitchen until 30 min prior) The guy we had (forgot his name) proceeded to take our drink orders. Shortly after we get to ordering our app s, the gentleman gives the Veg recommendations. My mom who didn t hear initially a portion of what was veg, clarified and he states I told you, we have Veg Lettuce wraps . I brush it off. Not even 5 min later we get our apps, not even a minute after it came to the table (enough time for family to put an initial serving of the apps) the guy says ready to order? I told him, can we just got our apps, let us at least enjoy this and we ll order in 5 min. He responds you have 2 minutes . At that point I tell the guy I ve been coming here for years, I get it if you have a full house and are trying to turn tables over quick, but it s literally us and 2 other tables here. Why are you rushing us? A lady server that was helping the guy says yes we close the kitchen at 9:15pm at this point I was livid. Which restaurant closes 45min prior to serving guests and secondly, we re paying to eat here with a group of more than 5 (which the serves automatically get a 20% tip on top of the bill). That is what ruined this restaurant for me. They re lucky their food is good, otherwise they d be long out of business.

Dinner under microscope!!!!!! We reserved a table for 5 and we re seated at the very first raw where all the servers are standing. There were only a few tables at that time so we quickly became a topic of the Chinise speaking servers standing literally above our heads. Very unpleasant environment let alone eat like that, the food doesn t go down :-). The food was not bad at all. if you go to this restaurant, remember, do not stop eating and do not put your fork on the table, as soon as you stop chewing and let go of your fork they pick up your plate. It feels like a speed eating, or they make you feel like that. Hope it helps to other diners to know what to expect.

Searched for soup dumplings on Maps and found this place! We noticed it had a cooler night vibe on the inside and they blast the A/C so it was freezing for us (Were on the warmer side). Server did not come to us often so there was a while before they came back to us. However, the food came quickly after and this was a weekday dinner where the restaurant was almost full! Food tasted good, but the prices were a bit high for what we felt. I would still recommend to try it out but maybe a group/family style could be better!

Chinese restaurant for Shanghai cuisine. The food was okay. But the service was not. We had eight adults and one child. Our server basically ordered food and brought the dishes and never checked on us. Then she emphasized there was a fixed tip rate when we checked out. I can tell that she is Chinese and sadly we as the only group of Chinese people were treated rudely. Not recommended for large groups. Will NOT be back! I called before going and said they could seat me, but it was actually two tables pushed together. I ordered almost all the dishes that were not American-Chinese on the menu. The waiter never showed up after serving the dishes. When I paid, I was worried that I wouldnt leave a tip. I have emphasized several times that I have a different enthusiasm for other white people in the restaurant. If I am really convinced, I will not come back again.

Highly overpriced with food thats very disappointing. Went there yesterday on a date with my wife. Ordered some of the food that other reviews recommended like the crispy beef and the soup dumplings. The crispy beef costs over $36 and was something you will easily get at a lower end buffet. It was deep fried and bathed in an overly sweet sauce. Told the waitress we didnt like that dish, hoping she would take it back, but she said thats the way it was supposed to be. Soup dumplings had an unusually thick cover. Nothing special about the $18 gin and tonic. Ive had much better. Came out of there with a $110 bill for 2 people, feeling like we had gotten the same quality of food from a $15 buffet.

When we entered, the attention was terrible and by the way they go and ask if we are applying for a job Who would think that at that time of night you go looking for work but they rudely tell you that it is closed? In a few words, it is a lack of respect from the staff and I will not return to that restaurant, nor do I recommend it, they are racists.

Tonight my wife and I went to this restaurant and we arrived before 09:30PM but their website states that they close at 10PM and so does their sign outside the door. We were not greeted at all verbally but rather by a nasty glare by three staff members. Rather than saying hello, stating they were no longer seating or offering to take a to go order they continued giving us hateful glares. I am not sure if it was due to our race or because of the time but these people need to seriously learn some customer service skills. This was our first attempt visiting and definitely the last. If they are this horrible at greeting and making us feel so uncomfortable, I wonder how horrible our dining experience would have been. Definitely telling everyone we know to avoid these horrible people.

One of our family s favorite places to celebrate special occasions or just because. The service is excellent! The cocktails, The day walker was refreshing and delicious. They also have an extensive wine selection! Started our dinner with the fried calamari and the soup dumplings! Also had some Miso soup and Hot & Sour soup. The appetizers were a great start to another excellent meal. We chose to eat family style and our Choices were the Fuzi Prawns, Shanghai Flounder and the Crispy Beef. The food was the perfect amount for four people. All dishes were delicious and tasty. We closed our meal with the Tiramisu and the Bread Pudding. This place will not disappoint! Enjoy!

Really enjoyed our dinner. Friendly service in a nice dining room. We had the basil chicken and veggies in clay pot and both were really good. We were not crazy about the appetizer selection and our choice of beef on skewers but overall,we are looking forward to going back. Vegetarian options: Veggies in clay pot is excellent Parking: Plenty Kid-friendliness: Lots of families

Went for dinner with a couple of friends. Started with the soup dumplings, blue crab wontons and spring rolls. All 3 were great, the best one was probably the soup dumplings. Then for our entrees we got the yuzu crispy beef, pan-fried duck and sesame chicken. All 3 again were amazing! The wait staff was very attentive and nice as well. Definitely will come back!

Let me start by saying the service was really good. The food was unreasonably bad. Very cheap ingredients. The claypot for 26.00 was not even close to quality. The fried rice was dry, and the beef very stringy. Parking: Parking can be tough during peak hours.

Heard about this Asian restaurant from a friend. Decided to try it today with hubby. The decor was nicely appointed overall as chinese (?) restaurants go. The lighting however, was more than dim should ever be. Downright dark. Had to use my cell phone flashlight to be able to even see the menu. Irritating. The waitress who came over and was very curt, seemed annoyed. She was not interested in any polite chatter at all. She was all business, tell me what you want and Ill go get it style...funny but yet not so when youre paying these kind of prices. Speaking of prices, we were there around 1-ish but the prices were more like dinner time prices. Hubby and I being new to the place chose something familiar. He chose *chicken fried rice. I selected *assorted meat fried rice. Both of us upon tasting the rice we were less than impressed. The rice was overly greasy, and bland and starchy tasting. The meat , chicken, beef were of a mushy spongy texture..I only ate about 1/4 of my full dish, trying with each bite to enjoy it..but couldnt. Needless to say I didnt take any of it home. I have to say as I mentioned before for the prices they are asking, it should have been 5* fare to say the least..but sadly it wasnt. *This review is solely based on the dishes we chose this day. I cannot speak for the other dishes that are offered here. However, being a native NYKer, the most basic dish fried rice should have been phenomenal at those prices!!! I know GOOD CHINESE!! On to looking for a good chinese restaurant.

Ordered over $100 worth of takeout for 5 people and was really disappointed. The food was overwhelmingly average at best: the mongolian beef was pretty good, aside from that, the five star shrimp was pretty much entirely bread crumbs, we were supposed to get pork buns, but instead were given some other pork dish we didnt order- it was tough and unflavorful. The fried rice was awful- pretty much just white rice with a sprinkle of soy. We were not impressed with anything we ordered and the biggest kick in the face is the fact that practically every dish was $20-30. Overall would not recommend, which is disappointing considering Ive enjoyed their food in the past. What changed?

The food here is good. I enjoy the hot and sour soup and the General Yaos chicken. Its not very spicy, but it usually isnt, at least not for me. The curry calamari appetizer is very good and although I usually say things need a sauce, this one didnt need a sauce. It comes over fried rice noodles which are also very good. It can be kind of pricey, but the interior of the restaurant is pretty and the staff are very attentive.

Tonight was such a fabulous experience all around. Especially the the fantastic food shared with friends. Service and ambiance were on par with NYC/LA experiences too. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

We also loved the crushed red pepper beef, soft shell crab, and crab fried rice. Everything we had was fantastic. I really enjoyed the selection of wine and my husband had a few cocktails. The restaurant was intimate yet vibrant and everything was very clean. The staff was helpful and friendly. We ll definitely be back!

Food, atmosphere was good however our waitress did not have time to stop for few seconds to hear the compliments, just walked away. We were there about an hour but she was just in hurry the whole entire time. We heard other waiters being polite and having small talks. May be she was having a bad day. We will keep looking more places to eat good Chinese.

Incredible meal in a lovely atmosphere. Everything was delicious, fresh and tasty. Portions were good to generous in their sizing, which is appreciated given the overall cost of each dish. They are not expensive, but this is not fast food Chinese either. The chef specialties are around 20 to $25 a dish. The standard dishes are around $15 to $18 from what I remember. Worth every penny given the quality and quantity provided. Overall, its excellent food in a lovely setting - several Chinese restaurants in the area have good food but are more geared for lunch and dont quite make the date night bar for atmosphere and refinement. Yao Fuzi has both and Im very happy to have found it.
