This restaurant popped up one day as a Yelp suggestion and it did not disappoint. I am honestly not sure how long it has been here, but after today s visit, it is certain to be added to our list of rotations. I had previously browsed the Menu online and Mom and I had already decided to order the Cucumber Salad and Big Plate Chicken(medium-sized order) to share. We also ordered their Signature Walnut Honey Yoghurt for Dessert. We made an 11:15AM Reservation through Google since it was our first time here and I was not sure how busy it would be during that time. You order from the Menu and pay the bill after you eat. Received with a welcoming vibe and cultural and delightful background music as soon as we entered. Abdullah graciously greeted us and told us to sit wherever we liked. It is a Husband/Wife (didn t get her name) Team - making everything hot, fresh, and from scratch - so we knew we were in for a treat. I don t believe ambiance is the focal point of the dining experience here; rather, it is the Five Star Quality Food and Service. I will gladly support a Family Business over a chain or franchise. The Cucumber Salad was crunchy, zesty, perfectly spicy, and was the ideal accompaniment to the Big Plate Chicken. The Big Plate Chicken had a bed of Chewy, Steamy Noodles, simmered with Bone-In Chicken, Potatoes, Braised Carrots, Red Peppers, and Dried Red Chilies. The chicken was fall-off-the-bone tender and so flavorful. It was also to our preferred spice level - not too spicy and not at all bland. The Signature Yoghurt had a texture resembling that of a cross between Cream Cheese and Greek Yoghurt and a depth of flavor that contrasted very well with the Honey and Walnut. Perfect after a meal! All three were truly excellent, noteworthy, standout dishes and we would order them again. However, on our next visit, we shall consider others on the Menu. We plan to return!

Lost amid a small village of other such Chinese eateries, this place lived up to the reviews. Very friendly, accommodating service that helped us to navigate the limited menu. Gosh Nan and Korma Chop delivered on flavor and satisfaction. Generous portions. The hand-made pulled noodles are exquisite. Unlike other Chinese fare, I enjoyed learning and tasting a bit about the Uyghur people s cuisine.

The big plate chicken had very nice and chewy noodles soaked in very tasty sauce and pieces of potatoes and the lamb skewers were very well marinated. If you enjoy Uyghur cuisines, youll not be disappointed with this place.

What a gem! Some of the best lamb I have ever had in Dallas and very authentic flavors from western China. Having lived in the Uyghur region of China for 10 years, I can tell you that it s some of the most authentic Uyghur food I ve had outside of Xinjiang. The polo (rice) dish with a lamb shank is incredible, the handmade laghman noodles are delicious and you have to at least try one or two lamb kebabs. If you re a big group, the Big Plate Chicken is a fun dish to share. The Uyghur people running the place speak great English and are very hospitable. Overall a fun experience that s worth trying once, especially if you ve never tasted the Uyghur cuisine.

Food: Pretty good food but I don t like the walnuts in the naan. I usually get Korma Chop (I have to specify it to be spicy but it s not a problem for me) and lamb skewers. The yogurt beverage is alright, honey cake doesn t taste like much and I don t like some of the other dishes. Service: Not bad and it s pretty efficient, but one of the servers often comes off as rude to me. Still, service isn t bad, though wait times can get high some days. Atmosphere: I love it, though it is just a little basic. Not much to say here. Pick up / delivery problems: They always package the food differently every time I ve gotten take out. One time, I had to mix the sauce into my food but was not made apparent to me and never happened again??? Still, I ve been here a lot with my family and not a bad place to eat!

Went here with 6 other people, so we all got different dishes and shared them. Food was overall consistently solid and was a really cool mix between Asian and Middle Eastern food. Portion sizes were pretty big too. I thought the lamb shank was the best, it tasted really similar to a classic Afghani pulao. The only dish I would not recommend is the Big Plate Chicken, mainly because the peppercorn in there was way too strong and overpowering. However, the service was really good and timely too. We went during Ramadan and the owners asked if anyone was fasting - they gave complimentary dates and made sure to serve those of us who were fasting first, which was all quite nice of them. Wish it was closer, otherwise I would be back more often.

We tried Gosh Naan, Chuchvara Dumplings, and Lamb shank polow, and they all were good... But I would say they were more on the pricey side based on the quantity (which is true for the majority of halal food places in DFW). I have had Lamb shank polow, at an Uzbek restaurant in NJ, and they used basmati rice (which I liked more - my preference) ... Compared to that, here they used different type of rice that had a slightly nutty flavor.

You can tell that they don t take anything for granted and put their heart and soul into sharing their cuisine with others. I grew up in Urumqi (capital of Xinjiang province) and in the states have never found a restaurant featuring all the staples of Xinjiang cuisine and able to do all of them well: lamb skewers, lamb samsa, laghman, rice pilaf/polow, big plate chicken, yogurt, savory milk tea, nann . Staff spoke perfect Uyghur, Mandarin Chinese and English. During checkout I learned they re from Kashgar, and oh my am I impressed! Kashgar is a city in Southern Xinjiang bordering Pakistan, Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and Ladakh of India. Everyone in Xinjiang knows Kashgar is the hub of Uyghur culture and arts, and the history there is insane! It s one of the oldest continuously inhabited city. It was an oasis on the Silk Road, and since 200 BC has gone through rulings of widely different cultures: eastern Iranian, Han Chinese, Mongolian, Tibetan, and Turkic. You can imagine what that does to the food scene. It s a fusion food by default. You can tell the recipes they use are family recipes. Laghman for example is distinctively Kashgar-style as it s more acidic (they add vinegar to it) than Laghman in other areas of Xinjiang. I can t believe I m able to enjoy those dishes tens of thousands of miles away from Xinjiang. Turan Uyghur Kitchen needs to stay. We need places like this to remind us we re all human and cultures should be bountiful like stars. Though some are bigger than others they all shine bright in the night sky. Come with an open mind. Ask questions. Try new dishes. 5 star through and through!

I got laghman - a hand pulled noodle dish with lamb and veggies sitting atop a flavorful broth. This item is a must order. It s really good. The noodles are really thick. The broth had a unique flavor profile. The spices in the broth made the dish even better. I also got dumplings. These may be the best dumplings I ve had at a restaurant. The waiter went above and beyond, explaining each dish in detail and ensuring our preferences were met, especially our love for spicy food. The lamb skewer was my favorite absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this spot for a delightful culinary experience.

Just had lunch at Turan Uighur Kitchen. Good serving size and tasty food. Chochura soup was soul food on a winter day, and dumplings dipped in vinegar sauce were light yet filling. Beef Laghman with hand pulled noodles was authentic. Hostess baked Taran cake was crumbly with just the right amount of sweetness. Dishes had home cooked goodness. A nice and clean family owned restaurant! Definitely recommended!

We had the medium size chicken dish and a beef noodle dish, as well as an appetizer. I thoroughly enjoyed the food, but the prices were pretty crazy for the serving sizes. Two of my 4-person party hardly ate anything and so me and one other ended up finishing most of the meal and we were still hungry and it was about $150. Glad I tried Uyghur cooking but too expensive to go back

People who see this name do not know that Uyghur is the ethnic minority that China has enslaved by the 100s of thousands. I pronounce Uyghur as [you-ger]. The food has flavors totally new to me and WONDERFUL. Eat here for s unique treat. Very flavorful not hot; well spiced. I had the lamb shank and my wife had the chicken. What a treat. I discovered this place via some feed I have of new places. BTW: The restaurant was totally clean and the staff welcome new diners. Ask them to help you order.

Honestly, it s just an acquired taste. It wasn t bad in a poorly made way it was just an unfamiliar flavor that wasn t necessarily pleasant to me. It had a sour taste but also kind of reminded me of Indian food (but I like Indian food) lol so I don t know. It s worth trying once but it was also a bit on the expensive end in my opinion.

Nice little space. Super nice staff. And food was spectacular. All handmade/homemade, made to order. Absolutely delicious. Amazing flavors. And ate so clean felt great after eating it even though we had noodles in everything and dumplings. So so good. Highly recommend , can t wait to go back! The lady that took our order recommended a dish - big plate chicken (hand pulled noodles, chicken, potato and and a really amazing sauce) and it was great - I got the small size and it was quite large! Also enjoyed the dumplings (sauce was great too) and laghman dish which was noodles (different type than the other dish), lamb and peppers.

The lamb shank was perfectly cooked so the meat was very tender. And since its halal meat, Ill be coming again with friends.

An excellent little family run restaurant. I love that the menu has enough diversity, but doesnt try to cover all possible dishes. We had laghman, a dish with hand pulled noodles. The noodles had a wonderful texture - thick and hearty and satisfying. I enjoyed the dumplings - just bite sized with a good ratio of filling to wrapper. They didnt have a lot of flavor on their own, but picked up the vinegar dipping sauce. The drink with house made yogurt, ayran, was terrific. Savory, a little sour a little salty. Just perfect. The honey cake was much much more dense than I expected, but had a really great, delicate flavor. Overall, a great experience with friendly and helpful staff. I cant wait to try everything else on the menu.

The moist filling of the Sansa permitted the full enjoyment of the sesame seed sprinkled shell. Couldve had a few more easily. The Laghman was assembled uniformly leading one to enjoy every bite. The accompanying noodles were truly in the insatiable category. The Korma chop had regional herbs and spices. The blend was naturally aromatic and yet the only after-taste was the meat. The Chochura Soup had plenty of manti style dumplings with the herbal trimmings offering a mild delight. If you are the discernible type, you will like the yoghurt especially to temper any unaccustomed spiciness. The Turan Cake emphasized the signature caramel indulgence with firm layers.

Yesterday was our first time trying Uyghur cuisine and it was such a delight. We started off with the fresh, flaky gosh naan and a hot bowl of chochura. The clear soup was light and a perfect starter to open up the stomach. It was a delight to enjoy a bowl of dumplings after so long. For our main course, we had the yummy Turan braised oxtail with rice noodles so delicious! The dining area was cozy and service was great. We felt very welcomed and look forward to trying some of the other menu items, in sha a Allah. This is an awesome place to add to your list of tasty, local halal eateries. When we stumbled upon the name of this place, we knew that it must be unique as weve heard the story behind their culture and area in West China. Its sort of Turkish, Indian Chinese fusion or in other words Uyghur style! Love Lamb, but this is so uniquely delicious, the sauce has such depth of flavor. Lip smacking, cant wait to return and try more. Also must say we loved the friendly sweet staff who are definitely doing everything right in the restaurant business from service to quality food. A must try! The interior is modern and balanced: comfortable without being overly cozy or too austere. Lighting level and temperature were good. And everything was very clean. The food was excellent. We started with an order of dumplings, with the velvety texture unique to homemade noodles and a filling that was reminiscent of kafta kabobs. The chili sauce served alongside added a nice bit of heat and complemented the dumplings well. For the main course, we ordered the kawa kabab plate, comprising beef, carrots, and potatoes served over bread. In appearance and style, it felt very much like a hearty winter stew one might encounter in any number of American comfort food spots. The spice profile, however, was layered and complex, and (to my untrained palate) seemed to share elements with a number of other Asian cuisines, ranging from the Levant in the west to China in the east. The honey cake also made for a nice finish to the meal, with nice structure and mild sweetness. All in all, a wonderful place for your first foray into Uyghur cuisine; just know that your first is likely not to be your last. I can t wait to return and try some of the other dishes, especially the noodles. Highly recommended. And do not forget to offer a prayer or kind thoughts for the Uyghurs suffering at the hands of the brutal Chinese Communist Party.

I was very intrigued about hearing from the servers background and struggles to come to America. I ordered their Big Plate of Chicken and the Lamb Dumplings. They were delicious. For dessert, I got the Honeycake and it was the perfect amount of sweetness to it. Finally, I loved the dumplings so much that I got an extra set of dumplings to boil at home. Im going to get to the point first: theres a dish called Fried Rice Noodles on the menu (literally, on the menu; when we were there it was a taped-on paper note). Its a fried noodle dish with chicken and an amazing spicy sauce. If you like spicy food, and again, this stuff is definitely spicy but not crazy spicy, do not let them talk you out of ordering it. It is one of the best noodle dishes me and my dining companion have ever had. The service is awesome, the big chicken stew stuff is good too (though the chicken pieces were a little bone-centric for my personal tastes, delicious sauce and noodles though), and the thick bread rounds are great for soaking up sauce. Great place. Again the people there are very very nice and helpful. They were worried about us with that spicy chicken :)

Disappointed. We love Xinjiang cuisine and were excited to try this place. Both noodle dishes were lukewarm, the noodle in the big plate chicken was soggy and the noodle in the king style laghman was hard and might not be fully cooked. Beef tasted old (we each tried a piece and stopped there). The nan was so dry and stale. For the price we expected the food to be freshly made at least. Not to mention the Xinjiang restaurant we had in China, even the one we tried in Ireland was much much better. BTW, the table behind us sent their dish for reheat. The temperature outdoor was hotter than the food.
