I was always wanted to consider myself kind of a... pioneer of the palate A restaurateur, if you will Ive wined, dined, sipped and supped in some of the most demonstrably beamer epitomable bistros in the Los Angeles metropolitan region. Yeah, Ive had strange-looking patty melts at Norms Ive had dangerous veal cutlets at the Copper Penny. What you get is a breaded Salisbury steak in a Shake n Bake. And topped with a provocative sauce of Velveeta and uh, half and half Smothered with Campbells tomato soup, See I have kinda of a, well I order my veal cutlet Christ, it left the plate and it walked down to the end of the counter and it I just Waitress named Irene, boy shes wearing those rhinestone glasses with the little pearl thing clipped on the sweater and... My veal cutlet come down, tried to beat the shit out of my cup of coffee but... Coffee just wasnt strong enough to defend itself.

RED FLAG TO ALL PARENTS NONE OF THE HIGH CHAIRS WORK. You walk in and you are greeted with the past. The place looks unchanged from say the 80s? The service is slow and the place is very dark. The food lacks flavor and some how they ruined red snapper which is normally a very good fish. The rice is seasoned but has no flavor. The tea is okay. Best thing I had was the corn bread. The breakfast is also okay. The hunt is still on for a regular spot.

I eat there frequently and find the food to be excellent and actually I think they offer far too many choices. They give good portions and its reasonably priced. To be honest, the reason I come is the ladies who wait on you. They are always friendly and helpful and make dining there a lot of fun. My only complaint would be that the owner needs to hire more people to work there. Invariably the ladies have to wait on 10 or more tables at one time and may be there by themselves. Thats just not right and something the owner needs to fix before he loses them. Ill be back because I love the place.

Oh my God its good. Oh, and show up hungry the portions are BIG! The wife and I were looking for some place that we had never been before and this place caught our eye. It was a bit early for dinner but we are so glad that we stopped in. Everything was delicious. The people working there were very attentive. I had not seen that in a long time. The restaurant is on a corner so blink and youll miss it. But it will be worth the trip. It was awesome.

Somebody finally noticed we were waiting to be seated, slow,seating plentiful. I ordered the breakfast burrito, it was ok, tasted good but not great. Husband ordered Eggs Benedict, he orders this everywhere we go. He barely touched it. The buns were cold, not toasted, only 1 piece of the ham looked edible. The sauce was flavorless. He has 1 bite and ate no more. No coffee refills. Asked for Tabasco, got salsa. Service was quick.

We have ordered two to go meals from here. The first time their online ordering wasnt working but they were super kind about it and when we called got our order in quick we were missing some sides but that was okay. We ordered from there again and one of the meals was for fried catfish however we received fried tilapia instead. There was also some kind of vinegar in the black eyed peas so much it was inedible. (we had 3 seperate people try it and confirmed the same thing). All in all with the food being so inconsistent we have opted to not order from here any longer. But it was definitely worth a try.

Looking for great food at a great price, a quiet casual dining room and great service, stop right here. Lunch service is always consistently great for me. The prices beat all others hands down. Fresh ingredients and so tasty. Chicken fried chicken, pork chops, chicken fried steak and steak tenderloin specials are all phenomenal and under $10 and its amazing. Lots of great sides to choose from. House salad is romaine, worthwhile. Cinnamon apples and breads are housemade. Plenty of room for large parties. Parking: Need more handicap designated spots. 1 is not enough.

My Mom and I have gone to Southern Recieps for years. Ms. Angela and the rest of the team have always been gracious to All that go in to have a Wonderful meal. The food is always hot and Delicious, they serve a meal how you ask with No problem. The setting is comfortable and everyone can join in on the conversation if you d like. Hospitality is Fabulous!! This place is low-key low-key nostalgia. I came last Saturday night. I feel welcome! I received exceptional service from my awesome and favorite waitress Gigi. She s over-the-top friendly, helpful, and informative. She has a Calm and patient demeanor. She s extremely jolly. Shes a Very caring, engaging, pleasant, calm, kind, hardworking, the biggest pro at her job, and makes me laugh. My order was gorgeously done. I ordered Grilled salmon over rice with a side of zucchini and corn. I also got a side salad crispy lettuce that tasted great and delicious ranch dressing that is homemade. It came out right and fast. She treats me like family and is extremely friendly. Gigi is very fast and talented I love her vibe and smile. Her hands and feet are a blessing. Such a professional like every time I turn she s like an energizer bunny. Gigi, impeccable taste of what choice to get. She is literally an energizer bunny fast and everywhere. She has an awesome enthusiastically. Her smile is so contagious. Shes literally the best waitress ever and sarcastic. Extremely hard work and recognizable for working so hard. Food was pretty standard diner fare. Service was okay tho Im still not sure which girl was actua ly my server. Most of the resturant was shut down and only one small section was open. The coffee was not fresh at all. I dont love when a server is cool with bringing me coffee that is as thick as motor oil from sitting there all morning. Fresh coffee is the one thing you should be able to count on at 9 in the morning inside a diner that serves breakfast. Other than that everything had a pretty standard greesy spoon diner feel.. it wasnt terrible but I doubt Id go back ever without prompting.

Last Saturday, it was my first time at Southern Recipe Grill and the food there was delicious, the portions were so huge and generous. Gigi was my waitress and was excellent at what she does. I love this restaurant. ANGELA is great. She just lost her sister to illness and this weekend, she lost her brother and brother n law in Utah in a mudslide. Her husband is in the hospital. Im totally disappointed right now. I pray that people are forgiven for their actions of rudeness and disrespect. I had an absolutely horrible experience today. I was discriminated against due to the color of my skin. When I arrived at Southern Recipes Grill in Plano, they attempted to seat me at the back of the restaurant where no one else was sitting. I refused to sit back there and requested to sit up front closer to the door where everyone else was sitting. I realized, I has the only black person in here at this time. About 5 minutes later, I noticed everyone was being waiting on except me. After about another 15 minutes, I requested service from the lady that seated me. It took another 35 minutes for my food to come out (while others that came in after me, ordered the same thing I ordered, was served before me)... twice. I asked to speak to the manager, who ended up being the owner of the restaurant which was also the person that originally attended to sit me at the back. She was well aware of the situation. She started there was nothing she could do about the situation and that she was sorry. When I finally got my food it was lukewarm and I had to send it back. Totally Unacceptable! Out of respect (being a business owner myself), I decided to leave without eating. I paid for my food in full without leaving a tip. Its unfortunate that people continue to mistreat people because of the color of their skin.

Ate here 2-15-23 and the waitress was horrible. I have eaten here many times but yesterday was my last time to go there again. Charged my meal and another meal at our table on my debit card and when I went to question it, she said she was too busy! We earlier asked for something and she had told us she was slammed and too busy. I looked around and it was not that busy. When she corrected the charge on my card she made it out like it was our fault because there were too many tickets and credit cards and she didn t know what was what, really! Nice, country restaurant serving American cuisine. We stopped in for an early dinner. The chicken fried steak and bacon cheeseburger were pretty goid. The staff are great. Very friendly and attentive.

Food was excellent and reasonable prices. I had the sampler platter of appetizers which came with 3 large chicken tenders and was a meal. My mother had the catfish and loved it. She says its her favorite place for catfish which is why we went there for maybe the 6th time and always great. Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetables to choose from and salads. Parking: Plenty of parking and shadey when we went. Kid-friendliness: I didnt see any children there but Im sure they would be welcome. Wheelchair accessibility: I saw someone in a wheelchair there and they didnt have any problems

While there was a lone waitress, she worked so hard and with a smile! Food is always great!!!! The salads are so fresh. A friend and I ordered chicken fried steak and chicken fried chicken so we could each have a half of each. They are equally delicious!!!!

Best southern find! Like the Carolinas! The portions were large, and lots of sides, soup or salad too. Best option for price like grandma s cooking. And the best homemade pie! We had the apple. They offer daily specials and breakfast too. The staff is kind as well and very clean restrooms. Worth a try, but we ll be back for sure. Thanks!

We had chicken cobb salad, hamburger steak, and eggs Benedict. Sides of green beans, mashed potato, and coleslaw. Everything was very good. The cole slaw and the gravy were excellent. Wait staff is friendly and treat you like they know you as a friend. Great price for the food.

Delicious breakfast! Charizo and egg tacos for one meal and eggs with crispy bacon ( without even having to ask)! Pancakes and hash browns and warm cinnamon apples. More than anyone could eat all for under $10. Sweet staff and nice inside. Well definitely be back!

Called in my order. They were extremely busy with only 2 employees working. Both employees were extremely nice and kind. They apologized for the wait and I was offered something to drink. The food was very delicious. Vegetables well seasoned and perfectly cooked.

I went there last Saturday let me tell you the food is delicious. My waitress was Gigi. Gigi very super duper friendly and patient, gives us time to look at the menu s. She also sits with you and gives you great suggestion. She s very fast and professional and also helpful. She s very sincere bubbly and funny. She puts a lot of effort what she dose. For example if something doesn t seem right she fix it. The girls are great too.

We finally tried this amazing place after many years of just driving by. Its hidden a little in the plaza but wow was I surprised at all the details they put into preparing some really good southern recipes. We had endless fish, beef tips and homemade pies. So so so yummy!!

Well first it took about 8 minutes at least for them to even greet us. they sat us down and didnt give us menus, I had to get them for my family myself. But They have the largest portion of food I have ever seen. My boyfriends pork chops were hudge I have never in my life seen pork chops that big before. The sweet tea was gross and, they leave the pitchers of tea out on a table where they get all watered down. One of the servers acted like she was the best thing that had ever worked there you could tell by the way she held her nose in the air. I would hate to have to work with someone like her. But the food was really good so thats why they got a 4 star.

I like this place, food was good, fast and seems like they are handling thing pretty efficiently. I had Gigi as a waitress, she was pretty funny, her charisma was excellent, just a lovely waitress hands down. And to top it off the prices were reasonable so yeah. Great service (), easily the biggest menu I ve ever seen. If you re not sure what you re hungry for then this is a good place to go. Whatever you order it s going to be a LOT of food for a very reasonable price point. The inside of the restaurant is sizeable with multiple rooms to choose from for seating. In the middle of the everything there looks to be a full bar. So basically this place checks all of my boxes. I m not drinking today but you can be sure that I will knock a few back here in the near future.
