Small cozy restaurant with really good food! Service was attentive and fast. If you re OK with grilled fish done Asian style with the head in, I recommend the Tandoori grilled pomfret!

It was ok. Based on other reviews I expected more though. The tika masala was good but the chicken biryani was disappointing. It lacked spice and flavor. There was hardly any chicken and the small amount that was present was dry and tough, like it had been sitting under a lamp. The paneer butter masala and chicken butter masala were also rather bland. It was ok but for the price, I can get better curry elsewhere.

We have been to this place multiple time even though we stay over 40 minutes away. The food has always been to my liking. The reason for the reduced stars is our last visit. The server was very good, we had ordered spicy food as we always do, but this time the food only tasted of red chili, we requested the server to fix this, on which the kitchen staff told us, that is what we get when we order spicy, after requesting again, the food was remade with almost no spice. The manager also stated that, that is what we get when we order spicy food. When we stated that we have been there multiple times and have ordered the same way every time, he dismissed our claims and told us to order medium spicy next time.

This was one of the best, if not the best Indian / Nepali cuisine I have ever had. Coconut curry dish, aloo gobi, chicken C momo which are the dumplings shown. The regular chicken momo is steamed. Both are delicious. This place had large portions, EXCELLENT customer service, and delicious garlic naan.

This is THE place to go to or order from is you want the best biryanis or curries anywhere in Texas. I lived in the middle east for four years and ate a lot of curries and biryanis. This place is authentic. I just wish I could find a place that does a tandoori mixed grill. Probably against fire codes to use open charcoal containers at the table in the U.S. Curry Kitchen is the best youll find in this area.

Stopped in after a movie at the theater nearby. Extensive menu of Indian, Nepali, Indo Chinese recipes. You are allowed to choose mild medium and spicy degrees of seasoning. Papadums with chutneys on the table, generous servings of rice and extra plates to share. The chicken Momo (Nepali dumplings) were delicious. The decor is simple and sparse, the food is outstanding. Vegetarian options: The menu has many vegetarian options and a whole page of vegan options Parking: Ample parking is in drive up spaces in front of the storefront.

Food was below average. It seemed fresh but lacked spices and missed on taste. Momos were subpar which I see lot of people here seem to have liked it. There are better places for nepalese food in the area so I wouldn t go here. The kadhai paneer was bland and tasted sweet.

I would categorize this Indian restaurant as below average. Our order included momos, samosas, Paneer Tikka Masala, and Paneer Kadai. Unfortunately, the dishes did not exhibit authenticity, lacking both in flavor and spices. Despite requesting spiciness in the Paneer Kadai, it ended up being sweet. The momos were decent, but they didnt stand out to me compared to the other places I had it in Austin.

Otherwise would recommend going somewhere else for authentic authentic Indian food.

We also tried the Pani Puri appetizer ( crispy puffed bread filled with potatoes that you pour an herbal water into and then take it all in..kind of, like a shot), and that was a fun experience! Part of the reason we came to Curry Kitchen is they have Pashwari Naan, which for some reason seems hard to find in Austin. I had the Saag Paneer and my husband had the Lamb Keema, which was very spicy (as he likes it). They had a full page of Vegan entrees, so we will definitely tell our vegan friends about it. Curry kitchen in my opinion is highly underrated that s why I never tried it despite their high ratings. I can absolutely confirm their grilled pomfret fish is to kill for. It is often really hard to do a grilled fish well and they have done it - if you like grilled South Indian style fish - definitely try this. If you are a fan of sweet curries and mango flavors - I ll recommend the chicken mango malai - it is unique and sweet, not spicy at all. The paneer methi matar was fine. The laccha paratha was crispy and flavorful, a bit different than the traditional flaky laccha parathas tho. The free appetizer of papad with the tamarind and mind chutneys and onion masala was amazing - highly appreciate it. The servers are great - my only feedback is, make the place a little brighter or make the ambient lights better.

The absolute best Indian restaurant I have ever eaten in in America. Clean, simply decorated, attentive weight staff. Next to it Indian Nepal grocery store, and a huge cinema. Well worth a visit there were three of us, and we shared two lamb dishes, bindi, eggplant, and chicken 65. Basmante rice. All were excellent

One of the best restaurants in Austin! The food was very authentic and delicious. Every bite was full of flavor and each dish was very unique. The spice level was just right where it didn t burn your mouth but you could definitely feel the heat. If I could eat from here every day I would. This is for sure somewhere that I will be visiting again and highly recommend you to visit too

We dined here last night and it was divine, the food is awesome and the staff is very helpful and friendly. They asked us about if we preferred, mild or spicy and the dishes came out perfect. this is a dining experience worth repeating and we would recommend it to every one. They also cater per the ad in the window and give cooking classes. All around a wonderful experience.

From Seattle to Nashville, this is a close tie for the least enjoyable Indian food I have had across the country. I am giving you an extra star because you are a small business and the American Dream. Please quit serving big mistakes and flavorless nightmares.

The aromas coming from the restaurant is enough to entice you in. It is a quaint decor. The chutney was a nice surprise after being told that the kitchen was backed up, as you can see by the massive amounts of take out. To which it made me excited to see what the commotion was about. Samosa Chat and Lamb Choila came out, fairly quickly. Samosa was tasty and yet maintained a crunch on the exterior. The Lamb was beautifully tender and gave a nice heat so be warned.Chicken Vindalu and Lamb Saag followed and continued to impressed. Every dish cooked perfect. The service was friendly and attentive. I implore you to come in with the mentality to dine family style.

Been here a couple of times. Pros: great staff and service. Definitely try the tandoori chicken (I don t like chicken but this one was the BOMB, so moist and juicy and flavorful). The desserts (I have tried most of them) were on point, and better than quite a few places. I love their bread selection, they even have puri too! Cons: Their goat and lamb curries were decent, nothing to write home about. The flavor and consistency of the curry was just not there compared to other Indian restaurants. Had a chicken pakora once, that was just bland batter and chicken.

Finally found a good place for North Indian food. In Austin there are many good places to eat but surprisingly I didnt find good North Indian restaurants until yesterday. Ordered Chicken Curry and Gobi Manchurian and really loved them. Now this is one of my go to places when I have a curry craving.

Not the most authentic Indian food Ive had. The chicken biryani leaned on the sweet and minty side, which was odd, but they provided generous chunks of meat. The ras malai was overpowered by rose water and the halva was a pool of oil. I recommend trying the vegetarian dishes over the meat ones.

Occasionally we come across a restaurant that stands out in an otherwise nondescript strip of stores. Curry Kitchen is one of those finds. We were a party of six with two vegetarians who ate Indian food regularly and four meat eaters who eat Indian food very rarely. We were all delighted, the menu clearly describes what is in each dish and we were able to choose the level of spiciness we wanted. For most that was no hot spices, so we could, for example, taste the delicious flavors in the Lamb Korma, Matar Paneer and Vegetable Shahi Korma along with Naan, Puri and Aalo Paratha to dip in the sauces. Excellent food, reasonably priced wine, comfortable seating, a reasonable noise level and super service, all the ingredients necessary for a very pleasant evening with friends.

Tried vegetable chowmien and it tasted like a curry. Not very great. Chilli Paneer was very good. The mix vegetable was average at best. My friends tried chicken momos and they said it was good. The Chinese chowmien which my friends tried also tasted like a curry. Overall average experience.
