Added some new pictures of my Bo, as you can see he is a big boy, and the staff at Pearland Barkway are so good to him! Ms. Rachel always calls me when she needs to trim a bit more but she has always done a good job with both my Miniature Poodle & Golden Doodle for their grooming. I do recommend you brush your doodle as much as possible to avoid matting. Highly recommend Pearland Barkway

For at least eight years, we have taken all of our dogs to Pearland Barkway for grooming. They go in looking scraggly and come out looking beautifully groomed and cut. They take into account your requirements for grooming your dogs. If you re looking for a place to groom your dogs, Pearland Barkway is it.

So, I dropped Pi on Saturday at 8 am without making an appointment. It was very busy and front desk lady told me to pick him up around 2 pm. They called me around 11 and I picked him up around 12. I noticed he is shedding and his fur is not shiny. And he didn t smell good. I forgot about it till next day when I saw him etching and he was covered with a lot of dandruff . I have never seen anything like that. I wiped him but he etched more every day. He etched himself to a blood. We bought spray, and other dog medication. Then I realized his nails were not trimmed. I decided to clean his ears and his ears were not clean either. Why I paid almost 100$? I usually take him to petco and wash him for 15$ and I have never had him in a such condition. It looks like they shampooed him but didn t rinse it well. A few months ago I took him to a different SPA and when I picked him up he didn t shed for a several days, smelled good and his fur was shiny. Not sure what happened here. I m expecting a manager call me back on Monday. That s very frustrating. I need my money back. I will never go there again and will not recommend it to anyone.

I switched from Petco to PB when my dog began having severe anxiety whenever she would be seen at Petco. Since switching, she has had no issues and always comes back looking great! I have not chosen a set groomer as everyone she has had so far seems to do a pretty solid job. I also love the morning drop off as it allows me to drop her off before work with no issue. Would definitely recommend for grooming services!

Avery is absolutely amazing!!! Winston is generally long haired and a wavy black golden doodle. He is always handled with care and always comes home like a brand new dog. My favorite shampoo is the silky something or another when they have it stock. His coat is shiny and he smells amazing for at least 3 weeks after. Avery has taken the time to explore different hairstyles including braiding his head hair as seen in the first photo. He just insists on hanging his head out of the window so the pics don t do it justice.This is the only groomer I take my 75 pounder to. Nothing bad I can say!

I relocated to the Pearland area 3 years ago when I purchased a home. Finding a dog groomer was amongst the top priorities for my family. We did an online search in our area and we found great reviews for Pearland Barkway. The great reviews were most definitely accurate! Five stars for Pearland Barkway! I recently took my dog Margo to Pearland Barkway and had a fantastic experience. The staff was friendly and attentive, but I especially want to recognize Avrie for her outstanding service. Avrie was incredibly knowledgeable and patient with Margos sometimes aggressive temperament. She took the time to answer all my questions and put my worries at ease. I recently had my Maltese puppy groomed at Pearland Barkway, and the whole experience was very pleasant. The ladies checking us in were very friendly, and Cindy was amazing! She sat down with me to see exactly what I wanted in terms of grooming and was also very informative as this is my first time to own a Maltese. Theodore came out looking terrific! Went to three different grooming places like pet supplies plus and two different petsmarts and they always had a problem with my dog and where unable to groom her, which was weird to me because she s a very friendly dog. Pretty good place. I have a lot of animals and have taken them for various services from just a nail trim to a full groom/cut. Everyone seems friendly and weve always had good service. I was a little disappointed when I took two of my pups in recently for a nail trim and was charged more than usual. I was told that prices had gone up due to new management (but as of that date, the website still reflected the old prices).

My dachshund puppy has been attending daycare since she was 4 months old. She attends daycare about 3 days a week. I drop her off as soon as they open at 6:30 am. The staff is very friendly and always welcomes her when she arrives in the morning. She has made several friends while attending daycare. They tell me how she gets along with both the little dogs and big dogs. The dogs have a nap time during the day. During nap time they are put in individual crates. As a result, my puppy has learned how to see her crate as a safe place. Before attending daycare, she would whine anytime she was placed in her crate. Now she goes in her crate willingly when I say crate time.

I loved it. My dog went in looking like Chewbacca and came out looking like Ryan Gosling and smelling just as good (I think because I dont know how good Mr. Ryan smells). Just received my dog from boarding and they failed to call whenever something went wrong with my dog so they locked her in a cage her entire stay. My dog comes back sick from this place every time, she s on a strict diet and can only eat her food, also i send specific feeding instructions every single time. Dog owners beware! This is the worst grooming service Ive ever received in the 5 years Ive had my dog. I asked for a teddy bear cut on her face and a 4 amount of hair. The cut was choppy my dog is unrecognizable not at all what I asked for. I have sent them pictures to show the damage they had done and I have not been accommodated at all. I have been promised a call back by the manager and Ive been waiting for weeks with no call. Dont bring your dog here! I wish I could add photographic evidence.

They butchered my once beautiful red miniature poodle. They said she was severely matted. NOT TRUE. They said she was and needed to cut it shorter. From 2 to less than a quarter inch. She looks like I took her to a butcher not a supposedly professional groomer. I m so mad i literally cried for an hour. Do not take your poodle there. They did not care that I was unhappy and offered no explanation as to why they butchered her. Thankfully it will grow back one day.

The hound lady working the service desk at this time was very rude with providing information and immediately you can go online if you want to know about us! I wish I could give more stars. The staff were friendly and I believe that my dog was well taken care of. That said, we were not warned about the very high fees to board our dog. They have a $12/day holiday surcharge and early/late fees that were not told to us until we paid the bill. These were separate from the standard $40/day charge for staying the night. There is a health care warranty that was charged but not explained. As I said, I believe that my dog was taken care of by a professional staff, but the lack of transparency in pricing in person means that I do not expect to come back.

I placed a grooming appointment for Friday but when I arrived they said they had nothing booked. I drive 30 minutes to this place because I like how they groom my lo. I was very frustrated at how they dont know how put in appointments to reserve you spot and on top of that there was a line of owners waiting to drop their lo off. I used to love this place but Ill be looking for another groomer that know hows to honor grooming appointments. Very dissatisfied.

After reading some of the negative reviews, I was skeptical, but they treated our big boy perfect and gave him a haircut to make him look 50 years younger! Weve had some negative dog grooming experiences with other groomers and have been handling it at home for a while. We decided to take a chance with Pearland Barkway and they exceeded our expectations with the treatment of our furry puppy and the results. His haircut was perfect and he had no cuts/nicks anywhere. Our dog is a large golden retriever/ poodle mix. He had some matts and lots of hair and they were done within 4 hours, which is what they quoted us. Quality service, you pay for what you get, would recommend coming here.

They cut my dog behind his ear and didn t say anything to me about it. I didn t notice until after I got home and they were closed when I was scratching behind the ears. This picture was taken two days after cause I didn t know if I should make a complaint. But I feel like the groomer could have at least come out and apologized when I arrived for pick up but no one said anything. Anytime I have come here, the people are never friendly and they never act extra loving to the dogs. I gave them more chances because they do a good haircut, but I ll never come here again after they hurt my baby and didn t say a word. Btw my dog is 5 lbs. There is no way he was uncontrollable.

I don t know if they changed groomers or management but they shaved my poor Mandy nipple this last grooming and the one before that they took of her skin tag on her back. I called back and they took my info said manager would call me back they never called me back. And they always had trouble finding her in the system to schedule

If I could give zero starts I would. I used to take my older small dogs, 12 and 13 years old respectively on a semi regular basis. The dogs didn t enjoy the groomer so I would wait months in between sessions to lessen the stress for them. With that came additional charges for some matted hair and tips which I was ok with, But one day they kept my schnauzer all day, call us to pick her and tell us that they did not cut her hair because she would not stop moving around, and still charged us for after not cutting her hair. Once she was home, we called to clarify the situation and whoever spoke to us told us that we needed to find another groomers because they didn t have time to deal with my dog because they were trying to complete appointments as fast as possible and didn t have time deal with her moving around. Afterwards I was hesitant to take her to a groomers at all until today I took her to Best Friends on Hughes. I explained the situation that she was skittish and old but they still took her and did an amazing job. They did say she was a little difficult because she didn t like being messed with but they still did it and did a great job at it, unlike Pearland Barkway. I understand that they are a business and need to go through multiple digs at an effective rate, but that s why they schedule appointments, and should allow for dealing with these type of situations. If there was additional charges due to her behavior I would understand, to offer some calming solutions, or at the very least call me right away to get her out of a stressful environment immediately, but to hold my dog all day just to not do any grooming and still charge me is just wrong. This wasn t the first time I took her here, we had been going occasionally for years and never had this issue, but I guess that day they were tired of her stressed out and handled the situation how they wanted. Never will be using these services and figured worth mentioning for anyone that has small, older and/or don t like being messed with.

Unfortunately big changes from my last visit. If I could give them a -0 star I would. Took our 2 boys to Pearland Barkway on Nov 23 for a simple bath and de-shed. As soon as I walked in, I noticed the empty shelves (this should have been a sign for me to leave). They have gone up in prices but service has gone waaay down. I paid $174 + tip. I picked them up and placed them into the car. On the way home, I noticed they didnt smell clean, my large boy was shedding terribly, and the areas around his eyes werent cleaned well. Our boys are inside dogs and my wife immediately said, They dont smell like they have been cleaned. We have never experienced this poor grooming before. I gave Pearland Barkway a call and shared my concerns. They offered a do over and to spray some cologne on them but couldnt get me back in until the following Friday. I didnt feel comfortable bringing them back and it had only been one day after picking them up. Plus, grooming should get it right the first time there; are no do overs. This was the worst! We will never be returning to Pearland Barkway and I strongly recommend not to trust your pets with these folks. Lastly, the time before this one my wife picked the dogs up and one of them was extremely red-eyed and skittish. Hes been groomed by many many professionals and this had never occurred before. The young staff was dismissive and the groomer gave her some ridiculous explanation about the dog being nervous. They also charged her a ridiculous amount for some dog treats that she didnt ask for nor receive. My wife as a result was nervous about the dogs returning to Pearland Barkway. I shouldve listened to her and not given them a second chance. They will never get another with our 2 boys.

Pearland Barkway currently has a new owner and unfortunately we are parting ways. In the past 5 years we have never experienced such unprofessional management. Our last visit with Pearland Barkway my husband picked up our dogs once they were ready and when they arrived home I noticed we were overcharged and our dogs were not up to standards. I called to learn that there was a new management and prices had gone up, but this was never discussed when we made our regular appointment. I left a message for Nathan , the new manager, to get back to me so that we could discuss and was told that the situation would be rectified. In three weeks time I had left a total of two messages for Nathan, who always seemed to be out.I was finally able to speak to Nathan who told me he had left me a message and could screenshot the phone call from his cell phone if I would like proof. First, I thought that was quite over-the-top but nonetheless I discussed my concerns on the dogs last grooming, on staff never discussing the price changes before booking or during checkout. He actually blamed staff for not being trained properly and continued to say that only a few staff members he kept and the others were gone because the place was a mess. He also blamed our groomer of 3 years for failing on the last haircut. The best, he said for the past 5 yrs my dogs were not having their teeth or ears cleaned, but they indeed were. Of course my response was , no sir these are my dogs I m sure of it, he said Um no you are mistaken, I have their records and it s not checked off maybe the last owner was not being truthful with you. He offered to refund me what I was overcharged, but he made it a point to say if I needed to part ways that he would understand because some people just cant afford the extra fees. Yes, he said that. I asked to speak with the owner because I honestly felt that his level of unprofessionalism needed be brought to their attention , and I said go ahead and forward me that screenshot of when you returned my phone call please. Needless to say he has not sent me the owners name or phone number nor has he sent the screenshot. Instead he sent me a text asking for my email. This morning I received an email from Nathan Hernandez that stated we are parting ways. I have asked for my refund and I would like the owners information, please help send that over to me, They deserve to know who is representing this business as their manager.

Dont schedule your dog for a grooming appointment expecting for them to return your dog in a timely manner. I dropped my dog off at 10:30. I was told he would be ready by 12:30, perhaps a little earlier or later. When I called at 1:30 I was told that he hadnt yet been groomed because there was another dog in front of him to be taken care of first. So whats the point of scheduling an appointment? Based on the amount of hours it took for them just to give my dog a bath and the fact there was another dog needing to be groomed first meant I would be not be receiving my dog back until 5 or 6 p.m. Never again.

Dropped our dog off at 12:30 and didn t get her back until 7. This is the third time we ve taken her and it s taken almost 7 hours. Plus, we asked for her hair to be cut and (possibly because they were so far behind) she was returned with only a bath and a brushing. Based on other reviews, this seems to be a consistent issue. We have used them for many years. Its nice how much they care for the dogs. That being said, the hours are somewhat inconvenient (they are open but you cant pick up or drop off). For the cost, Id expect more flexibility. In addition it takes SO LONG to drop your dogs off. Despite making a phone reservation with all the details, and that the dogs have stayed there before, they ask you all the same questions (how many days, how much food, bath etc) and write down all of what you already said in your reservation. Why isnt it already written down or in a computer? For many people about to leave for a trip they will not anticipate taking 20 minutes to drop off a pet.

Great grooming experience! The groomer came out to go over what I wanted and what she recommended for my cavapoo. I didn t love that they have to take them to the back for grooming and you are not able to see them but they made me feel comfortable. They also contacted me to inform me that because it was my fue babies first cut they would not push it when it came to cutting too much and that they would give him breaks to not traumatize him. I really loved that. Overall a great groomer and fairly priced.

My 15 year old yorkie is very hard to handle in his old age. We had to sedate him a little. Pearland Barkway did a fantastic job on his hair. He looks like a new dog! Looks at least 10 years younger. So happy with his cut. Staff was friendly. This place was busy too. Will go again.

We took our dog Jax here and it was fantastic! He was treated so kindly. Also one of the Pearland police k9s walked in as we were dropping Jax off to get groomed. I appreciated how the staff carefully made sure all dogs were restrained to the side before allowing the k9 to come through the front doors. It assured everyone was safe. I took my 2 dogs here for the first time and I loved it. They are very attentive to the dogs and introduce who will be taking care of your dog before you leave. Afterwards they came back out to tell me how my dogs did and what they learned about them. One of my dogs is a butt head and they noticed a few things about him and gave me some advice. The cost was competitive even though they went above the rest with customer service. I will definitely be bringing my dogs here from now on.

Brought my 6 month old puppy here for the first time and for her first full haircut. The groomer actually did a fantastic job and Im super happy with her cut, but I agree with some of the other reviews about scheduling. I had a 10:00 appointment and was told it would be about 3 to 4 hrs but it ended up being almost 6 hrs. Thats way too long for a puppy to wait for a haircut, and no one bothered to warn me or call to say they were running way behind. Hopefully theyll get better about scheduling cause I did love the job the groomer did, but not sure if Ill go back.

What can I say. The people that work here love Dogs. They live, eat and breathe dog!! Everyone knows our dog, everyone says hello to us, because of our dog. They also do A to Z for dogs. You have to sometimes remind them when you ask for nail clipping etc, but this is a great place to take your fur baby if he/she doesnt have a sister or brother. They have separate rooms for big dogs and little dogs, and they take them to Do Their Business every hour or so. They have plenty of space to play and they dont let too many dogs come in. I cant recommend this place more. Our MOUSE loves it!! (Great Dane).

Took my Shepherd Husky Mix from hair machine to yea I guess I should vacuum this weekend. My dog was even upset when I took of her little hankercheif which they gave her, I washed it and let her wear it for another couple days because she loved it so much. My dog normally doesnt wear things, so I was surprised that she liked it so much. I guess she was treated very well :) behind the scenes. I ordered the full monty and did the Shampoo treatment for reduced shedding and it was well worth it. Next time my dog looks like she did I will do a before and after picture. So far it has been about 1 month and the shedding is still minimal. Thanks Barkway.

I ve used this groomer for a while and although it is a bit pricey I felt it was worth the extra attention for my pups. I referred my daughter who came in with her dog for a 10:30 appointment for a bath and groom. Keep in mind that s what time they said was available for a groom. As her mom I was going to pick him up and when I called him them at 1pm the person told me she had 5 dogs ahead of him. I told her that it normally takes 2-3 hours and she didn t have an answer for me. I then called back at 4 pm and they told me my dog hadn t even been seen yet and that it was going to take 2 more hours at least. I was furious. All I could think about what her little pup being stuck in a cage for 6 plus hours! They didn t seem to think it was a problem and tried to explain how other dogs took longer and that it couldn t be helped. That is unacceptable. I asked why they couldn t have called me and they said they should have. What upsets me further is not even an attempt to make it right. No I m sorry , nothing! And that was from the owner. Don t make an appointment and then totally disregard it for 6 hours! I picked my dog up and they didn t say one word to me!
