Just re did their menu and raised prices thru the roof. When breakfast costs close to 20$ then it takes the employees tip money. Add 5-10$ tip and youre looking at 25-30$. No thanks, Ill get two sausage egg and cheese mcmuffins for 5$ and call it good. Employees friendly and service pretty good. Below average for the money.

Quite possibly the worst ever chicken fried steak Ive ever had. The gravy was very plain, no salt or pepper added. Chicken fried steak was the exact same, no flavor whatsoever. Its like they prepared it with only the base ingredients. both eggs and CFS came out somewhat cold like it had been sitting there. For context it wasnt even busy and it took about 30 minutes just for my food as I was alone. The best part of The meal was the hash browns which came out perfect and crispy. That is a very sad statement I have to make about this restaurant if the best part was my hash browns and coffee. Service was ok although I feel like they tended to the larger tables more than checking on me.

This place is usually so busy we can t go for breakfast before church. We did that twice and had to get our food to go. This morning we arrived early to be able to enjoy our meal and then head to church. Food was not hot others were served before us. Place had a total of 8 people. The man that waited on us was a bit rude. Pointing to the menu unaware I couldn t see it I asked if I could just tell him what I wanted he kept pointing to the menu. Ugh. He has always been the one behind the counter he needs to stay there. One napkin! I spilt on my jacket couldn t get anyone s attention, busy I get it but few customers less attention.

For being a small establishment it was busy. It took long to get our food. Had to ask repeatedly for refills. The pancakes were extremely dry. In my opinion, the pricing is more than what you actually get for food. The plates are oversized which makes it seem like youre getting more than what your actually served. The service was lacking as well. It honestly seemed like either a lack of staff or they were just disorganized. McDonalds and Whataburger have a better value for the food you actually get. Personally, I will not be going to this establishment again.

Saturday, July 7th, my husband and I went to the Pelican for breakfast. In the past the food and service have been great. Not this day. The food was good, but the service was terrible. By that I mean our waiter, Albert took our order and never returned to our table until we asked for our bill. He and Daniella did nothing but stand around and chat among themselves. Apparently there was something terribly fascinating in the parking lot because that s where Albert s attention was focused. Daniella just followed his lead. Not once did Albert come to the table to offer refills on the coffee or ask if we needed anything. We had to ask the lady cleaning the tables for more coffee. The other waitress, Maria, was running her legs off delivering food while these two fools just stood around. We got brave and went back today fully prepared to cancel our order and leave if it was a repeat of Saturday. Thankfully Rae and Maria were working so we had a great meal and GREAT service. Maybe the food service business is not Albert and Daniella s forte. If you have staff like these you will lose customers. There s too many places to choose from to put up with this!!!

We were in Houston helping clear trees from the tornado. Thr Pelican was close to our hotel se we decided to give it a go. Staff was good if a bit blue hair/nose ring for a majority 60s customer age demographic. The food was good, simple fair. Prices were reasonable as well. The one thing missing was what makes any breakfast restaurant great; house made bread, hickory smoked thick slice bacon, and fresh squeezed orange juice. Add that to the menu and prepare to be overwhelmed with customers.

Wife and I were visiting Houston for the day to go car buying and found this place to have breakfast before our 5 hour trip back to Louisiana. The food and drinks were great and very reasonably priced, but the real star of the show was our server Albert! If he wasnt running back and forth serving and clearing tables, he took up a position to keep careful watch for if anyone needed anything. My wife used to run a cafe before Covid, and would have given anything to have an employee as dedicated as him. Kid-friendliness: There were a lot of families with children and it was great! Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp access from the front and side of the building.

First off, the food was great. The chicken fried steak breakfast definitely left a mark! I really wanted to love the place, but the waiter (middle aged guy) was so rude. It seemed like he was in a rush and frustrated from the moment we got there. Body language goes a long way. You don t have to excessively slam the water cups on the table because you are in a rush. When we were finishing up, he asked if we wanted a box, my wife told him yes. He then took her plate and threw it away (we were under the impression that he was going to box it up for her).. she still had about half of her meal left. The service was a huge let down. Aside from that, the food was great and everyone else seemed nice. I doubt we will be back - or at least avoid dining in

I have tried this place several times now. Everytime the servicers seemed super rushed; to the point of providing bad service to the customers. Either they need to train the servers better or at least higher more of them. The food quantity is not great for the price, and the food was poorly prepared. The french toast was not properly soaked in the egg mix which made it super dry in the center. I ordered the fruit add-on option, but didnt get it and had to ask them to remove the cost from the bill. The grilled ham slice was super thin to the point that I could see through it in places. The atmosphere feels like a strip mall food stall that is more worried about turning table than providing a good experience. All in all I would not recommend this place.

The food was actually pretty good. Everything was fresh and hot when it came out. I had the oatmeal and I built my own breakfast. The oatmeal was not as firm as I would have liked for it to be (just a personal preference) We did have a little issue with our order, but the team corrected it for the most part. We also, took notice that a few of the other customers had some issues with their orders as well. Maybe, the server was having an off day? The team member with the aqua green hair made sure everything was corrected when we received our bill. We will absolutely give them another shot. I do recommend them if you are new to the Deer Park/ La Porte area. Reply: Im not into Sci-fi. So I dont fully understand your movie reference. Got a romcom reference instead? As for the oatmeal. The older lady hostess and waiter here are super rude, the sad part is that the food is actually pretty good. Actually witnessed the hostess tell a gentleman, who was waiting for his party, if his party didn t show soon that she would need the table. Meanwhile there were 4 open tables in the middle of the dining area open. Like I said, her and the guy waiter are easily enough reason not to go here. If youre looking for a well-made breakfast then look no further. This is the stop. My favorite food is breakfast food and Pelican exceeded my expectations. I cant believe I havent tried them earlier. Woke up late on a Sunday with no energy to fix a meal. Bae and I were craving breakfast and Im so glad a quick Google search lead us here. Plenty of free parking in the plaza out front. No worries at all. Upon entry, the inside is well lit by sunlight and there is a gorgeous, painted mural on the wall of breakfast foods which I loved. We were warmly greeted and seated by the hostess. Our drink orders were taken swiftly and the menu was pleasant to look at and easy to navigate. There are plenty of options so everyone in your group is bound to find something they like. Our server was kind and attentive. The table had all the creamers, hot sauces, ketchup, and other seasonings as well as butter and jellies. There was a healthy amount of families and couples already inside eating. It was a relaxed and light hearted atmosphere inside. It definitely felt like a wonderful Sunday for brunch. The food was SO GOOD! If you like fresh, crisp hashbrowns and perfectly cooked eggs the way you like it. Delicious hollandaise and buttery toast then this is where you want to be. Very high quality breakfast. Seriously. The food is so good it s one of my favorite breakfast places in pasadena/deer park. However, I was extremely disappointed today because my friends and I waited exactly 20 minutes to get our drinks, also we waited for an entire hour and in this hour we didn t receive a single refill. When we finally asked where our food was after being patient we were told that our ticket was lost . When we found out our ticket was lost we payed for our drinks and left. I am really confused because it wasn t a written ticket but instead an electronic ticket. We really gave our waitress the benefit of the doubt in case it was out of her control but she was cold towards us and went to our table 2 times within the whole hour.

Tried this place for the first time. The food was mediocre. Was expecting more based on the reviews. The French toast was not good , too dry and flavorless. Pancakes are small and thin compared to other small business breakfast restaurants. Coffee was not refilled , waitress only came by to ask if everything was Ok 1 time when food came, then never stopped by afterwards. Bill was $60 for 4 people which is super expensive compared to other local businesses.

The food here is very decent. They keep your coffee full. The fruit plate was delicious. My eggs were a little undercooked and the acoustics in this place make it a little hard to hear. Maybe put some things on the walls? But overall its a solid breakfast or brunch choice. The pancakes are also very tasty.

Great little place. Its gunna sound like im complaining but im really not but was great smoked salmon was good. Service good. But all I really wanted was a chicken salad. Youve gotta be the only breakfast/lunch restaurant thats dosnt have a single salad on the menu but has every ingredient to make salads. Salads 1 of the number 1 items for brunch and you have 0. I think thats some pretty healthy criticism.

Pelican Grill has become our GO_TO Breakfast spot! Christina and all the crew over there to a wonderful job, quick friendly service and OMG delicious home fries, they Bennies are out of this world, get the Avocado one, you wont regret it!

Disappointed in how service has changed when this location first opened. Fast, friendly, and spot on. When my friend and I went in this morning, we were told 30 minutes to get your food, 5-8 minute wait to see a server at the table after we sat at the table. Two servers to work the whole entire restaurant, one food runner, and probably 2-3 people in the kitchen from what we could see. When we got our food, one plate had warm/hot food, the other was already cold. Although, our server was overworked we did have to ask again for a refill. The host while not busy (at times) could have helped with the drinks and helped with tabs (it s key to work as a team). I recommend management to come take a look at how to improve staffing and service.

My first time visiting but my partner and his coworkers eat here frequently. The waiter provided great customer service and the food was delicious. I also had coffee (which comes with free refills), we had no issues parking & inside is spacious and clean. I certainly recommend having breakfast here!

Food was alrite, the server took a little bit to get to us, but the coffee lady saved the trip. She was really cool and polite (she had colored hair and some tattoos) seek this wonderful lady out, she is great!!!!

I was really excited to try this place, unfortunately what I saw turned my stomach. There was a girl in the kitchen with colored hair, dipping her long, fake nails into a container of what looked like a crumbly topping, she was adding this to a dish with her bare hands. When she was done she put the container back up. She looked like a server not a cook. I cant imagine what else she touched before she decided to dig her long nails in there. I feel bad for whoever had to eat that not knowing any better.

Horrible service! Went this morning for breakfast. Firstly they don t have anything vegan on their menu. I ordered for toast and avocado. The toast was burnt and the avocado was rotten !! When I asked them they replace the avocado they said they didn t have another! What restaurant has only one avocado in their fridge?? Utter waste of time and money

Small breakfast spot with good food and service. The omelette was perfectly cooked and delicious. The overeasy eggs were a tad liquidy but tasted great. The coffee was good as well. We were very impressed by our waiter that even provided us with To Go cups with coffee. Very nice place for breakfast. The food tasted fresh, was well prepared and service was prompt and attentive.

I ve been waiting months for this place to open. It s finally open. Fast service, clean facility and they have grits and corned beef hash. Can t get that everywhere... Not sure what I think of the hash yet. May have to try it a few times before I decide... but everything was good overall and because you can t get it anywhere around here ... something is better than nothing.

I have been waiting for this place to open. We love the Seabrook location but this one is closer to home. We went in and were seated Immediately. We had an amazing server and the food was so good. We will definitely be back.

Food was very fresh and tasted great. Price was really good compared to other breakfast places in the area. I would come again The coffee though was pretty low quality for 3 dollars a cup. It tasted like the beans were burnt and very acidic
