Very very good! Antichuco Pasta is what I always get... And it awesome! The meat ball and pasta is good too. Update its been a couple years since I posted this review it is now October 2024 prices have gone up extremely $30 a plate its the plate we get and very small portions not happy...... Not sure what else to write.....

Food good, drinks good BUT, there is no waitress station at bar. Bartenders pile up drinks at end of bar. Patrons stand there with 7-10 drinks 12 inches in front of them. I watched a guy laugh, yell, and spit when yelling. All with these drinks right in front of him. Very unsanitary and unhealthy. For gods sake make a waiter drink section and forbid patrons from standing there. Can t believe management is this BLIND!!!

It s definitely a hit or miss when it comes to the food lately and find ourselves going less and less. The staff we ve never had a problem with and seem to be doing their best when in the weeds, But this last visit the food was so bland. We first ordered the nachos and for the price they were I can t say they were worth it. Just 8ish stale tortilla chips with flavorless melted cheese with about 3 pickled jalapeño s on top of em. The wife and I had our usual, which is sliders with parm fries. We each asked for them to be cooked medium/ Medium rare but each received burnt, flavorless pucks with super dried out buns. They had obviously been sitting under a heat lamp for far too long before being ran to our table. Very unseasoned, very flavorless. Even the cheese really didn t taste like much of anything. Which hasn t always been the case for this menu item, We each agreed the only thing worth ordering again if we go back were the Parmesan fries. Those are still lovely and consistent.

We were referred here, but sadly we were disappointed. We ordered the Big Boy 1/4 lb hot dogs with skinny fries. My wife ordered the Chicken Salad Sandwich with home made chips and coke slaw. ***I think management needs to spot check the food served. While our server, Trystan, was excellent, it was too loud in the restaurant, the Diet coke was flat, the home made chips tasted rancid, the fries were pre-salted....way too much, the chicken salad was too salty, and my big boy hot dog looked like a normal hot dog. We were starving and we didnt want to make too much more problems.

Its tough to do this, but Im giving it 3 stars! This place is usually our favorite spot; we come here at least 3 times a month and always receive great service. However, today when we brought our family from out of town, they seated us quickly but at a small table for four, adding an extra chair on the side. There was a table behind us that they wouldnt let us combine, so we ended up feeling cramped and in the way of people passing by. My mother-in-law was so uncomfortable she asked for her food to go and went to the antique store. To top it off, the table next to us remained unused the whole time we were there! Now, about our server who reacted poorly when I asked for her name. She was rude and when I suggested putting the tables together for more space, she replied with a surprising comment. Despite all this, the food and drinks were still fantastic, which is why it gets 3 stars.

We love Mozies. Food is always great, service is great and the drinks are always spot on. If you like the family friendly bar atmosphere then you ll enjoy this place. I particularly like the panko chicken sandwich with the garlic Parmesan cheese fries and my wife like the nachos with grilled chicken on them. My only complaint is that they only offer one desert option which is strawberry cake. It s good and comes in a huge slice but I d like to have a couple more options. It s can be a bit loud depending on how busy they are but never terribly loud. It can also be very busy during the summer months and weekends because it s f the tourist season. Other than that I highly recommend Mozies

This was a nice spot in the heart of downtown Historic Gruene. The restaurant was cozy and everyone welcoming. I got the grilled cheese which I felt was a decent value, though my side of cole slaw was aggressively under-sauced so it was more like a bowl of cabbage. The margarita was strong and when they didn t get it exactly right, they offered to remake it for me which I appreciated. Service was great. The restaurant was a bit small so I could see it getting busy quickly and a wait forming, but still worth checking out!

The food here is delicious. We always order the same thing because we love it so. The wait staff is always good and the place itself is very cool. The longest antique bar Ive ever seen. Parking: We always go a little early. Weve never had a problem with parking. I have a bad knee and there is easy access if you cant step up high.

We were excited to try this restaurant based on the reviews. Disappointed to say that we didn t get to eat because their largest table seated 4, we were a party of 5. This left one person sticking out at a corner, two others elbow to elbow. We decided to put two tables together because who wants to eat uncomfortably?? The waitress, Julia, told us we couldn t do that because the restaurant is going to get so busy that we had to stick to one table. So forget about the fact that we were already there, they wanted to cater to people who weren t even there. Terrible. Kid-friendliness: There is no kids menu. Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is literally a hallway, don t bother going in with a wheelchair.

My biggest complaint is the meatballs. This is Texas... everything is big in Texas except Mozies meatballs. They werent bad but soooooooo small. But it comes with a loaf of bread. Also can you guys spread the ricotta out. Maybe put it in a squirt bottle. If it is too thick. Add Ricotta, cream cheese, Italian seasonings and cream. The Skinny fries are delicious but Im more impressed about the clean oils taste. What I mean is they keep their oil cleaned.

Best Reuben weve ever had!! Loaded with meat and sauce on the side. Waitress was great BUT the $10. shoestring onion rings in a tiny bowl were a joke and there was no sauce on the coleslaw, just plain cabbage(?) We both had food in our mouth when she asked how everything was of course ~ lol or we would have mentioned whats up with the slaw?

Went out tonight with friends to get a bite here because they have really great food, and Ive only been here once before, but tonight was not it. Firstly, I understand that it was a busy night and our waitress was wonderful. Many years as a server myself. But it took over an hour to get our food, watched people who arrived after us get their food, told waitress before food arrived we needed a to-go order and she was understanding. We were the last table to get our food tonight. So when we get our food and find out theyre out of burger buns and the kitchen closed at 9, we were surprised. We didnt know the kitchen closed at that time. So our food came out after the kitchen closed. And then the manager came out wanting to know why we wanted more food, explained the situation, told her my bread was MOLDY i refuse to eat this, and our food is cold and my food was missing ingredients, manager lady then, gave me sass that my bread was rye bread so it looks like that, like I didnt know the bread my sandwich had and felt like she treated us like children. Manager comped our food And we paid for our drinks and left to get fast food. Tonight was very disappointing and hollow. We kept wondering if we said or did something to piss them off or if it was our clothes? Did we not look good enough to eat here? It was just really sad night.

Mozies is in the Gruene Historic District, Just across from Gruene Hall. Rustic casual sports bar atmosphere, TVs ,serving fresh American food, cocktails,beer and wine. We tried the juicy tasty cheddar cheeseburger with skinny fries. Also the sliders & crispy onions rings. Loved that the burgers are big & cooked the way we requested - lots of melted cheese! Service was spot on! Friendly staff. Ill be back to try the shish kabob!! Parking: Expect difficulty finding parking when there are events on the weekends.

Today my husband and I decided to have lunch at Mozies, this was our first visit. I must say our Server, Ashley presented herself with a very warm and welcoming personality. When asked, Ashley, offered food and drinks recommendations. I must say the lavender lemonade was delicious and refreshing. My husband had the spicy margarita, which he definitely enjoyed. The food presentations were impressive. I had the panko parmesan chicken with anglehair pasta. My husband had the meatball sub. Both meals were deliciously good. We plan to visit Mozies again.

Excellent service. Friendly and helpful. We had the Reuben and the Fish Tacos. Tried the homemade potato chips with the Reuben. All very good. Its a small place and they fill up quickly so get there early or be prepared to wait for seating. Returned to try the anticucho pasta dish and appetizer. Both excellent. This last visit we went back to try the blackened chicken salad and chicken salad sandwich. Wow! LUVd it! Next trip we wanna try the panko parmesan chicken sandwich and the char king. I highly recommend Mozies. We will definitely be back!

We were wandering around Gruene when hunger struck and this was right there almost like it was meant to be! It was already busy since it was a Friday, but we grabbed 2 seats at the bar. The bartenders were friendly and quick, keeping us refilled on drinks all through the night. For dinner we started with the meatballs and they were delicious. The garlic bread was the perfect complement to the meatballs. For dinner we ordered the sliders with garlic fries and the big dog with homemade potato chips and extra sauerkraut. They were all home runs! Cooked well, perfect combination of flavors and very filling. We ll be back next time we re in the area.

We come to Texas once or twice a year for mainly music events and bbq/food. This trip was special in that friends were renewing their wedding vows. I always, ALWAYS, plan a trip to Mozies for a meat ball on angel hair pasta. Now i work in a restaurant very similar to Mozies and i always leave a review when we travel. Most people send negative reviews. I am honest and always try and have a smile or a joke for our server. You see, working with the public often makes service workers become reflective of you. So last night, i have a wonderfully sweet server named Kyleah. Mozies was packed but we got a table fast. I got my meatball and angel hair plus an old fashioned to sip on. My food was perfect as always, my service was impeccable. Kyleah can come work for us anytime! She ALWAYS had a smile! Thank you Mozies for keeping my cravings alive! Thank you Kyleah for more memories!

I work in Gruene and this is my favorite place to come when I get off to grab a bite to eat and a drink. Casey (sorry if I spelled that wrong) is usually here and she is always friendly and takes care of me and my friends. Looking for a restaurant that brings the tradition of Gruene?? Go to Mozies!! I went for the first time ever this weekend, and my oh my, I made the right choice. The food was absolutely amazing with a lot of flavor and very generous portions, the skiny fries and the onion rings go SO well with the garlic aioli that they will offer as a dip if you ask for it. They have a really diverse selection of cocktails and beers since the first half of the restaurant is essentially a bar. The service was delightful, Taylor Lane (Please forgive me if Im butchering your name) was such an amazing waitress!! She greeted us with a big smile, she recommended great food, she was checking on us the whole time even though it got really busy at a point, she was truly part of this experience and without her, I am sure everything would have been amazing but she made it just perfect. (Thank you so much for being such a great hospitalitarian) Overall, I highly recommend you stop for a great food and beverage experience at Mozies if you are visiting New Braunfels and even more if you are already in Gruene.

Texan AF sums this up. One long bar is the main attraction. Food is tasty and quality meats are used. The nachos are tasty but poor value for what you get. They re about $6 too high for what s served. Drinks are decent.

Was my first time there for afternoon with friends shopping then eating. Unfortunately, had a horrible experience. Emma was our server she was was not rude at all but should have handled our table a little better. My turkey sandwich had hair into my third bite. I mentioned that to her and she asked if I wanted to keep the other half of the sandwich. I said no idk if the other part of the hair was in the sandwich. She took the plate I kept my fruit and she never offered me anything else never apologized or had a manager apologize or offer anything. Since we were not there to drink just a quick bite before heading back to Houston. Maybe why our table wasnt too important. I see there is nothing there for kids to eat in the menu I asked for a simple grilled cheese sandwich and they brought an adult sandwich that was hard before my grandson finished the first half. My softdrink was flat did not offer a new drink. We asked to combine 2 tables together because the one next to is became open and our table was crowded with 5 people. All she said was I cant but didnt explain why and we saw other tables put together. When she finally brought the check she said I took off the sandwich well I hope so I didnt get to eat it. Which was too bad the first couple of bites were good. Then she still had the flat drink on the ticket she needed to also remove... Ill never go back. I understand its a bar but need to accommodate your paying customers when in your establishment...still plenty of families in there.

Stopped in for a sip and a bite to eat today. The sip came quickly with a smile, but my SALAD never came. People at the bar next to me received their food, ordered after mine. When I requested of the server to cancel my food, as I needed to leave, there was ZERO reaction, no apology, nothing! Simply the check presentation for my drinks and a comment about checking with the kitchen to see whats going on. I was shocked at the lack of empathy. The guests surrounding me at the bar were as astounded as I was. Ill reconsider returning to this location if they cant even deliver a SALAD as ordered.

We came in today for the first time, it was very small and crowded, but not because it was busy. Our server disappeared for hours. My buddy and I ate there in August before a concert at Gruene Hall. We both got food poisening. I know someone else that had same experience there two weeks later. Not sure what s going on in that kitchen whether keeping food at wrong temp, keeping raw food too long, something else I dunno. I just know they need to fix it ASAP, but I ll never go back. Also, the service was slow and inattentive.

Current rating is a 4.4 but dines like a 4.8 Anna was our server, she was fantastic, attentive, and inviting. We ordered the sliders, Reuben, and Shiner Bock onion rings. All of which were great, but the Reuben was my favorite. Sadly I originally wanted the house chips but they were sold out at the time. The fries were still great and better than just places. No pictures were taken, but this is a go-to spot, and we saw why. Food and drink offerings are as good as they can get. All food was well prepared and seasoned. Food was good and our waitress was great. Times what they are its difficult to find servers. Especially servers who are friendly and work hard to meet the needs of the patrons. Our server had all of those qualities. People should realize if you want something good you may have to wait. Good things like well prepared food and friendly service deserve a little patience. Great lunch place in Gruene! Cool brick alley pub atmosphere, delicious food, fast and friendly service. Our server Geo was prompt and helpful. No drinks for us this time; I had the Big Dog and put some extra jalapeno and slaw on it and it was absolutely delicious. Wife got the Chopped Con which scratched that deep paleo itch. Both highly recommended. And of course, undoing all those good choices, we opted for a slice of their famous strawberry cake at the end. Famous? Well I liked it. Its famous to me, and thats what matters.

8/1/2023, 3PM, seated. Served some 30-40 minutes later, Exceptionally LONG wait for our order and when received, cold fries. Burger was nothing special, Whataburger is better. Wife had a turkey sandwich which she liked. Garlic fries, (mine) cold. Hers, regular fries cold. Lots of servers scurrying about, no information on status of our long awaited order. This place is nothing special and more Bar oriented than food service, pass it by and you will be much happier. 40.00 dollars too! spendy for a burger and sandwich, Ice tea.

Wow. Being a frontline worker now and in the pandemic and trying to enjoy the night out. We went to mozies because the majority of the bars were closed d/t rain. We went to mozies to have a snack and a drink. My friend and I went to the bathroom (couldn t have been a more normal bathroom trip). Well they come back with the boys drink and said per policy they can t serve us girls and we can ask their manager. Behind our server, was the manager and a Comal county deputy. We literally haven t had one drink tonight. I m actually shocked. What a establishment this place is! Especially when their own employee is snorting stuff in the bathroom . It s one thing to be truly intoxicated and kicked out but we hadn t even had one drink. Warning: DO NOT GO HERE, they deny business for those who are sober. Update: YES we were absolutely speaking poorly about the establishment since we were harassed from the moment we walked in. Believe me, I wish I was intoxicated!

Took a break from the show at Gruene hall to get some grub at Mozies. The staff was extremely professional and courteous. Food was good we split the Chimichurri Steak and my girlfriend espresso martini for dessert. While we were walking in I can only suspect it was Meaghan and her group that were standing at the entrance speaking poorly about this establishment to patrons entering. With this type of behavior from Meaghan I can understand why they might have been asked the group to leave. I also overheard people at the bar talking how they had witnessed Meaghan stumble in the restroom. The Officer was professional. I m not to sure what her ramble about the pandemic or being a nurse has anything to do with her being asked to leave for being intoxicated.

I have to adjust my rating based on my most recent experience a couple weeks ago. I have been a Mozies regular since they opened and have patronized the restaurant a couple times a month ever since. That will not be the case moving forward. On our last visit my family and some friends grabbed some dinner. I ordered the Char-King Burger. After 2 bites I hit something extremely hard. To my disgust there was a very large piece of very hard plastic, and when I say large it was 2-3 inches long. Not expecting to bite into something hard I ended up chipping a tooth. I immediately called over our server and showed her what I had bit into. She brought over a manager, and he asked if I would like to file an incident which I replied absolutely. He assured me that someone would contact me on Monday, which being a Friday afternoon I guess is reasonable. However what is not reasonable is it has now been over 2 weeks with zero contact from anyone at Mozies. If they care this little about their loyal customers then this is not an establishment deserving of our business. After my experience sounds like a visit from the health department might be in order.

Update: Fish tacos tasted all right, but the corn tortillas were so soggy, they totally disintegrated in my hands. Had to eat with a fork. Do not recommend. Almost always good food. Wonderful onion rings. Havent had a meal I didnt like. Except a couple of times the Chopped Con was charcoaled hard on the bottom. Nice, efficient servers. Good atmosphere. A regular stop for us.

My mother and I went there when we walked in we were standing there for a few minutes didn t know what we were suppose to do we were about to leave as the lady told us to pick a seat somewhere. They should have a sign that says seat yourself or something so people not just standing and waiting. She ordered the sliders and coleslaw and when the manager brought it to the table it was fries and my mom said something and the manager said he would bring her back the coleslaw that she asked for and he never did. Her sliders were good but had only cheese on it no lettuce pickles or tomatoes as shown in pictures. I had the chicken salad sandwich which was good. Then at the end the lady asked if we wanted two to-go containers and I said yes when she came back she brought me only one small container so I had to put my chicken salad sandwich in the container and before we could ask for more to-go containers to put our fries in she took our fries and plate and walked off.

My husband and I were driving through town and decided to go to Moxies because the reviews were so great. However my food to go took longer than the 15 to 20 minutes I had to ask for the food and they told me it just came out but when I got it it was cold. Also the sliders that I purchased one was cooked as ordered and the other one was so well done could have broken a nose if he threw it at someone. My husband sandwich was okay the only good thing about the whole meal was the thin french fries. We will not be returning

I ve been coming here many years. My daughter Sara , ordered the hot dog! All the time! Every time I visit Mozies I try to order some thing different. Today I had the con burger which is a delicious grilled charred cheese burger without a bun. I also ordered the fresh homemade chips. OMG they are yummy. For desert this is the first time I ordered this strawberry/jam cake I recommend this place !
