This place is garbage, if you care about your family dont put them here. Employees are obviously underpaid and mistreated. Owner obviously only cares about money and should just quit caregiving and go to the stock market.

I have been in healthcare for 28 years. I have worked in the hospital, home care, and now geriatrics. This is the best facility, asand job I have ever had! The facility is beautiful. The decor is very tasteful, elegant, and comfortable. Makes you feel like youre home. The administrator, Debbie, is fantastic. She is very smart, and a strong leader. She keeps everything running smoothly. The best part for me, as a healthcare provider, is seeing the excellent, above par care the residents get. Especially in the Memory Care building. The residents need more care there and after being in a couple senior facilities, the care here is well beyond what I have seen elsewhere. The caregivers really love their residents, like they were their family. Its really a pleasure to see. In my professional opinion I would recommend Gruene Senior Living to anyone looking for a place for their family member. In my civilian opinion, I would love for my family to be able to live here if needed.

Moving my Mom to this facility was the best decision. The administrator and staff are wonderful. They take great care of the residents and are very friendly and respectful. My Mom has been so happy living here, mostly because she is constantly being waited on. Thank you GSL!

My dad spent the final year and a half of his life at GSL. Its hard to decide to place a loved one, but I neednt have worried. From the moment we settled in, the residents and staff all became our extended family. I spent lots of time there myself and never saw anyone treated with anything but kindness, love, and respect. GSL holds a special place in our familys heart.

I cannot say enough good things about this facility. My mom has been in Assisted Living there for about a year and we have now moved her to their Memory Care facility (located on the same campus). The facility is very clean and tastefully decorated. When I walked in the first time I felt like I was in my moms living room at home! I have eaten there many times with my mom and the food is great. (especially the soups!). But the best thing about this place is the staff. The staff is exceptional. They have cared for my mother like their own. The nursing staff is great. They are on top of my moms care and prescriptions. This place has been a huge blessing for my entire family and I recommend it wholeheartedly.

I was fired today because I spoke up about other shifts leaving there work for over night shift. People said that I was angry basically for speaking up an not allow in them to leave their work for someone else. The Administrator an RN told me that I didnt have the right to tell them about their unfinished work because I didnt run anything but when I ask what the role of med tech was they started to justify why the other stift did this an that. Then it was bought to my attention from the Administrator that the reason why they fired me is because I went an talked about the problem to another stift. Well let me just say that everyone there talks about each then smile in there face.. The fact that she said that was crazy because it was bought to my attention that the office people had conversations about me leaving notes an saying they needed to talk to them about it. When I had my interview I stated that I was a strong wrker an that was also my weak. Its very puzzling how they fired me for expressing how I felt about things but DIDNT FIRE THE PERSON CAUGHT ON CAMERA SLEEPING OR THE THREE PEOPLE THEY DRUG TESTED THAT FAILED OR THE PEOPLE THAT ARE ALWAYS LATE TO THERE SHIFT.. AN YES I FEEL SOME TYPE OF WAY ABOUT BEING FIRED BUT IM PUTTING THIS OUT FOR ANYONE THAT IS THINKING OF WORKING HERE JUST TO LET IT BE KNOWN THIS IS WHATS GOING ON AN HAVING A PROBLEM I FELT I COULDNT GO TO THEM BECAUSE THEY TOOK EVERYONE SIDE OVER ME BECAUSE I WAS SAYING THEY NEEDED TO FINISH THERE WRK. IM NOT WRITING THIS TO BE MEAN JUST STATING FACTS AN ANYONE THAT FEELS LIKE IM WRONG AN DONT KNOW WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT PROVE ME WRONG!!

My mom stayed at this facility and loved it. I have 4 sisters who were all involved and loved the staff. Mrs. Fendley was the sweetest and most caring person that I have ever met. I have recommended this place to my friends and one friends mother is there now and is very happy. They also think Mrs. Fendley is wonderful as well as the rest of the staff.

The staff is hardworking and caring, its great when they know their residents individually instead of only by room numbers. Debbie Fendley is the downfall, very rude and inconsiderate. And rather pay attention to money than having her building actually staffed. Good luck on the outrageous prices and not paying your staff justice.

Worked here most of my entire time I was going to college in the area. It has a great atmosphere and is very well run. I had the time of my life working beside the residents and made great friends with all of them in the process. Even the other workers are a second family to me now. Every time I stop back by to visit I am welcomed with open arms by the staff, and end up spending at least an hour talking to the residents that I came to know so well. Debbie Fendley was more than willing to work around my school, rugby, and ROTC schedule. Management is very corporative with those who work hard and have their heart in the right place. Its a very fulfilling job with great people. I am posting this because I saw that there is a past negative review that does not reflect the Gruene Senior Living that i came to love. I have seen disgruntled employees in the past, but it is hard not to love what you do at GSL. Some people just dont have their hearts in the right place I guess. They dont usually last long (thank goodness) before someone with good intentions takes their place. :) 10/10 would recommend this place to both my family members looking for a place to live, and for anyone with a good work ethic and a love for putting smiles on peoples faces

My closest friends are involved with GSL in two completely different ways. One has a child who is staff there, the other has parents there. First, let me say, the environment is an incredible place for our loved ones to be. The feelings I know my best friends feel knowing that their parents are in such good care are out of this world! They have events constantly, and the way the community responds shows just how wonderful the environment this place is for our family members needing assisted living. Second, let me be the FIRST to say that most people who write bad reviews about a single person, especially one that is in an HR role, are typically showing part of the reason that they may no longer be with the company in the first place. I know my other girlfriend is very happy with the environment that her daughter works in at GSL. GSL, youre doing a great job!

I have 4 loved ones living at GSL. Two have lived there over 5 years and within the last 6 months the other two have moved in. They wanted to move into the same facility as their brother and sister-in-law because they saw how happy and well cared for they are. As the person charged with the care of 4 seniors I have been extremely pleased with the attention they receive from the administration, medical staff, food service and general staff. The place is well cared for and responsive to any questions or concerns I have had. I unconditionally recommend you put this place on your list when you are searching for a home for your loved one.

The executive director (Debbie Fendley) doesnt care about your loved one or the people who work there. She is only concerned with whether rent is paid at the end of the month. Ive witnessed her make derogatory comment about residents & employees. Shell do ANYTHING to cover her behind and is not above lying or altering paperwork to get her desired result. Aside from Mrs. Fendley, they have a great staff and great food. If you place your loved one here, expect great care from the aides, but prepare to be ignored by administration.
