Superb staff that is not only informative, but spends time to describe the environment and wildlife at the birding center. We visited on a hot day so the tram ride was a welcome way to visit the park. The only drawback of it was the truck pulling it was Deisel and fumes permeated the carts. The best birding was done around the visitor center.

Awesome birding experience. Added quite a few members to my life list in a few short hours. The feeding stations were so much fun to sit at to watch birds and get some great pics!

Great place. You cant drive in the park anymore because technically its behind the stupid border wall, but they still allow camping, biking and hiking in the park. Small trolly gives rides throughout the park every hour. Lots of birds and cool wildlife. Make sure you bring your bug spray though. The mosquitoes are brutal!!!!

Went during peak birding migration time. Unfortunately, between the high high winds and the border patrol chopper hovering above my bird count was low. Saw Green Jays, Kiskydee, and a few other species. A bit disappoint, decided to call it a day and we t to work. Second time Ive been here. It was not a total loss since the place is very relaxing!

Many childhood memories of family gatherings, cook outs, camping, fishing, along with sights of many different species of birds.Though many things have changed, I still visit frequently just to get a bit of fresh air, listen to the animals calling as i take a walk through the multiple trails on a fresh morning. I wish we had many more places like this nearby, and i hope it continues to thrive for many years. Filled with friendly, knowledgeable staff.

This is the main location for the Operation of the World Birding Center, but the individual properties (all of which are Excellent!) are all over the Valley. I am not sure that the Valley Land Fund can be credited for creating the impetus for this type of an affair, but I doubt they can be denied some influence. These public lands make it possible for folks to truly see what nature can do in South Texas. Each of the parks are wonderful and guaranteed to lead to unique sightings in the spring and fall. Mission is the main office, but the other locations are as follows (someone else can enter the rest of the locations unless I get around to it on my next trip home): - Bentsen-Rio Grande Valley (Mission) - Edinburg Scenic Wetlands - Estero Llano Grande (Weslaco) - Harlingen Arroyo Colorado - Old Hidalgo Pumphouse - Quinta Mazatlan (McAllen) - Resaca de la Palma (Brownsville) - Roma Bluffs - South Padre Island Birding and Nature Center
