Went here for my Mothers birthday and had a wonderful time. Food and cocktails were delicious. They change their menu every 6 months to reflect what s in season. The owner came to our table and chatted a bit which was a nice touch. Every single server I encountered was SO nice and went above and beyond to make my mom s birthday dinner a memorable experience. Our server (Hayden?) was wonderful. We will be back soon!!

Every time I come in the experience is amazing. Im a specialty cocktail girly and am partial to gin drinks. Every gin cocktail Ive tried has been amazing, my personal favorite was The Amethyst. I also absolutely love the seasonal salads. Nothing is worse for me than going to a restaurant that only has romaine or iceberg lettuce salads. Everytime I order a salad here its full of dark leafy greens and I feel super healthy eating it. Obviously the steaks are delicious and Im always excited to see what seasonal sides they have. My current favorite is definitely the Cauliflower!

I came here Sunday, Aug. 25, for my birthday brunch reservation with my husband and our parents. Pros- The birria tacos were different but seasoned well and delicious. All enjoyed the breakfast potatoes. They have a light, crisp to them. My husband had the pull pork burrito, which he loved. My dad had the Chicken fried steak dish. He stated the meat had a great taste but was a little tough. My mother had the chicken and waffles. She enjoyed her chicken but stated the waffle was too hard. My MIL enjoyed her dish. She had the Chicken Fried Benny. The drinks were excellent. Cons- My party of 5 was seated in the corner next to the bar on two small round tabletops. We had very little space to eat or have drinks. So it was crowded. When I reserved the date, it stated the lounge and patio were available. When I saw the area, I was taken aback because it was not the optimal seating arrangement or space. The waitress stated that it was the only space available or we could sit on the porch (it was 100+ outside). The lounge area around the corner was more spacious, and she said she would move us once one of the larger parties left, but before I could remind her of that, they sat other guests in those spots. The room with tables across from where my party was was empty; however, a party of 3 sat in that room, which was odd because the room was not offered as an alternate space when I arrived.

Tried this place with my husband for brunch last weekend. Great experience! Delicious food, from a pretty extensive menu that changes seasonally. Mimosas were on point. Our server Tina was helpful and prompt and answered all of our questions since it was our first visit. This place is inside a restored Victorian house on Founders Row. The interior had a bougie library vibe but still casual. Well be back!

What a great concept! Owner and staff were welcoming, attentive, and warm. The hummus appetizer was some over the best I ve ever had. This was our first time and we were excited for the main course. We were told items like the pot roast ended today because of a new menu coming with the new chef. Seasoning ratios were unbalanced. Hopefully it s just a transitional phase. The decor and historical house are beautiful.

Wonderful dinner and after dinner cocktails! Visited for the first time for our Anniversary. Tina was our server and was fabulous. My husband had the bone-in pork chop and I had the pot roast with a great tasting bottle of wine. Both meals were outstanding with a wine list that is top notch. You can dress up or more casual if you would like. After our dinner we decided to head over to the lounge area where we enjoyed more cocktails. I highly recommend for a nice romantic dinner or just a straight up great meal. If you are not hungry and would just like to hang out at a nice chill place I suggest you go in and hang out at the bar or lounge area until 11 pm on weekends! Seriously, go and enjoy the company of your loved ones in this outstanding restaurant; you wont regret it!

Very inviting, but shocked about the food. When we sat down the couple next to us had a complaint about the scallops being bad and smelled of ammonia. Our server was not knowledgeable about the menu and then we get our food and it was horrible. My pot roast was dry as a bone, my risotto was cold and my husbands Cornish hen was way overly charred. Our server had the nerve to ask us if we wanted a Togo box!! Like hello, no we don t after what we got served. We were very honest to them about our experience and they didn t offer us any incentives or try to keep our business. The atmosphere was nice but the service and food, not good. I hope the owner takes our review seriously and makes some adjustments. Based off of what I ve read so far they haven t responded to anyone s reviews.

Our first visit to this restaurant on Saturday. - decor and ambiance are very nice -menu was a little smaller in variety than we hoped. Only 2 salads, one of which is tailored to a specific palate- a few more entree salads would be helpful -our server was very nice and mostly aware of the questions we asked about menu - featured steak was a poor cut and quality. - cocktails are fairly priced - UNLESS you order an old fashioned. Then it doubled, that was a huge turnoff. Literally each old fashioned cost what a whole bottle of the bourbon costs. - restrooms are clean and fully equipped with all needed supplies. Setting is cool, love the old house. But y all need to figure out how to improve the food and balance the pricing. Some items lower than I expected and many much higher than it s worth. We eat at a lot of fine restaurants and have a good gauge for this. If this isn t addressed this place will slowly decline and fade away.

My wife and I have been regulars at this restaurant, dining here once a month for the past two years, totaling over 20 visits. However, our recent experience was disappointing. The prices have increased significantly, well above inflation-adjusted rates. A classic Old Fashioned, which used to be reasonably priced, suddenly cost $26 per drink, not listed on the menu! We expected prices around $15-$20 per drink based on previous visits. Furthermore, weve noticed a decline in the quality of food compared to when the restaurant first opened. Sadly, we wont be returning after this experience.

I asked for an old fashioned with the house bourbon and the waitress asked if Blackland Rye was OK and I said yes, thinking she was confirming with me that the house bourbon was fine, we get the bill and the house old fashioned I ordered was $26 a pop - in midlothian texas!? I haven t even seen a $26 old fashioned in NYC. It was also the thinnest NY Strip, if you can call it that, I ve ever seen. It was more like a strip steak and that was cooked well beyond the medium rare I ordered. Overall, the pricing here is ridiculous, there s gotta be better values in town.

I came here with my family for Mother s Day. I had passed this place a few times and I was pretty excited to eat here, the atmosphere seems pretty nice, particularly the porch seating seems very inviting in the evenings. I feel like the porch is the main selling point of the establishment hence the name, it is very nice, but it is very much weather dependent. It was rainy when we were eating, I don t hold that against the establishment but just know if you come here you should do so when the weather is good. One thing that had me quite agitated though is that we had a reservation for 5. Due to the layout we had to split amongst 2 tables, which we attempted to put together however the staff would not allow us to do this because of future reservations . The tables were next to each other, there s no reason we shouldn t have been able to do so. Most porch tables are optimized to seat up to 3 which is a little odd, but this makes it a good date spot, but I would not come back with a sizable party. The drinks menu is reasonably expansive, some of the cocktails intrigued me but I did not try any so I cannot speak on their quality. I will say they had a good variety of beverage options in general as my sister wanted grapefruit juice, I thought it was odd, but they had it. Their food is good but not really anything to write home about, it s definitely on the more expensive side, you are paying for atmosphere. Wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable.

To start off, the only reason I know about this place is because I was invited there. I was shocked to see a restaurant in an 1800s style house. That part was cool. We sat upstairs and it was nice, but to me they are trying too hard to be swanky. As for the food, I ordered the Cowboy Hash with medium rare steak. I received a pathetic choice cut cooked medium well. It was like shoe leather. It came with a small egg, pico, sweet potatoes, and a pimento cheese filled jalapeno wrapped in bacon. The bacon wrapped jalapeno was the best part by far. For that food I would pay no more than $5, though it was actually $24. My daughters both wanted the noodles and cheese sauce (mac and cheese) from the kids menu. After ordering it, the waitress said that was on the lunch menu and that they are only doing brunch right now. It was 1pm. Pretty sure that is lunch time. So now my kids had to reorder something from the brunch menu. But wait, there was a cheeseburger and fries on the brunch menu. So you can order a cheeseburger for brunch, but not mac and cheese? I checked their website a few minutes ago and they dont even serve lunch on the weekends. What a joke! I do not recommend this place whatsoever.

Im not usually a person who would post about a small business restaurant, however Porch Pour has to be one of the worst managed places we have ever dealt with for having an event from start to finish. They dont have a clue how to manage events. Its a very poorly run and managed place. They will tell you one thing, even in writing, then turn around and say something different or no you cant do that. They will charge you extra fees after the fact. The contract that you sign is a total joke. Food is mediocre at best. Dont ever get anything that has to do with the word gravy because its basically butter soaked gravy. Meat is all chewy and fatty for a farm raised blah blah whatever spill meat. There will be a HUGE party that will NEVER return to this establishment and word ofoith from us will get around. Good luck to a not so good restaurant, but a nice vibe. Oh and if you have to sit upstairs, watch your step, stairs are very steep.

I recently dined at Porch Pour, located in a beautifully preserved historic home on Founders Row in Midlothian. The restaurants atmosphere is its standout feature, offering a unique dining experience that capitalizes on the charm and character of its historic setting. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for both casual and special occasions. The food was good, featuring a variety of unique dishes that were enjoyable but didnt quite live up to the hype I had heard. The drinks menu did not disappoint. Each beverage was well-crafted, with a good selection of both classic and innovative options that paired nicely with the meal. The service at Porch Pore deserves a special mention for being exceptionally friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and seemed genuinely happy to accommodate guests, which is always a plus in my book.

I was invited here on an initial meetup on a Friday night. I love the setup of this place. It has a lot of character and was really beautiful to me, inside and outside. There is an upstairs and downstairs. No reservations were needed. Parking was sufficient and so was the availability of tables. From the hostess, waitress and owner, all were welcoming and had great hospitality. We did not have any appetizers but we did indulge in an adult beverage. He had a Noble Mule and I had a Glass of Red Wine. For Dinner, he had Bone-In Pork Chop w/ Bourbon Butter, Southern Greens and Fried Okra. I had Gnocchi served with Burrata Cheese, Heirloom Tomatoes, Spinach and Mushrooms with an addition of Grilled Salmon. He stated that he enjoyed his meal and I did as well. My only add is that it lacked flavor/ seasoning to really bring out the dish. It is a place a would visit again and feel like it is great for the overall experience. As a side note, we ate up stairs. I have bad ankle and I do not suggest taking the stairs because they are steep . Gratefully, the gentleman I was with was patient and walked m down the stairs. Dietary restrictions: I am Kosher Pescatarian and was able to tailor my meal to my liking based on the menu options. Kid-friendliness: A good variety on the kids menu

We met Terry, one of the owners, and we loved how she greeted every table. It was our first time, and we learned the steaks come from a family farm. You truly can taste the difference. Delicious. Super cute and intimate and was the perfect setting for date night. If we lived closer, I would hang out in the lounge all the time. You can come dressed up or in your fancy jeans. What an awesome experience! This was our first visit to Porch Pour and my only regret is that we hadnt come sooner. The restaurant is in a Victorian house thats been refurbished in the Midlothian Founders Row neighborhood, and the eclectic vibe of the establishment perfectly matches the neighborhood. Everything about our visit was more than we expected or anticipated. The owner and GM both came by multiple times to check on us. The food! Oh My Goodness, was the food good - off-the-chain AWESOME! We had the Pork Belly Puffs for appetizer that were amazing. Each bite was an explosion of perfectly matched textures and flavors. I had the cherry-glaze pork chop with broccolini and citrus risotto and my wife had the pot roast special with garlic mash and creamed spinach. Cant say enough about both; was tempted to lick the plate. We ended with a smattering of desserts that were all top notch. Crème brulee was perfect; elegant smooth, creamy, and the perfect crust. They have a great bar with an excellent Bourbon selection. Great old fashioned! You would expect to pay double for this in Dallas, but it was an awesome celebratory dinner that is affordable for almost any occasion. Cant wait to go back for dinner, drinks, or just to hang out with friends on their beautiful porch.

Visit Jan 18 approx 2pm Hate leaving a bad review on a new cool spot in the area but here we go. First off the structure and build out is stunning. Unfortunately first floor dining room is tiny with no sound mitigation. You can t hear the people at your own table. Service - couldn t hear our waiter over the women in the dining room. Hostess was awkward at best. Sets the tone for the entire meal when staff isn t friendly. Now for what that matters Hummus + pesto - fun flavor combo no pesto in the slightest. Did not emulse with olive oil. Essentially a block of dried chickpeas. Not edible. Tostada - not terrible but no wow . I d expect this from a taco truck, and not a good one. No play on textures. Decent pork, beyond thick beans and a soggy tostada. Burger - fries were oily and not warm + unseasoned. Burger was less than inspiring. Pork belly - whomever is pairing pork belly with sour cream really? Fat with a fat? No acid, no salt, no flavor. Cool structure trash food

Went for brunch and had the chicken fried steak meals. Quite tasty but very small portions for the price, the cut of steak seemed cut in half. Also, there was an error made on the way I ordered my eggs, when I told server about she said the chef said no to fixing the error? I thought that was odd and I was going to escalate to owner, but then chef came out to table and said eggs would be corrected the way I ordered them. I was put off of having to go to these measures about error made by either server or the kitchen. This was our first time visiting, we may return or maybe not. First impressions are very important. UPDATE: In response to your message below, I need to clarify that I did not decide that I wanted cheese on my eggs after food was delivered. I requested cheese to be cooked in my eggs when we ordered our food. Obviously, there was a disconnect between the server and the kitchen. When the server checked on us, she seemed surprised the cheese was missing. She came back to tell us the chef said no. The people and atmosphere are wonderful here. My partner and I think the food has great potential but needs some refinement. We talked to the owner, and she was very grateful for our feedback, and we hope to return soon to see how this place progresses. The cocktails were delicious, and there were plenty of unique options to explore. We had the London Fog, the Gatter Fashioned, the King George, and the Java Shine. All of them were interesting and delicious. The appetizer we had was the blue cheese stuffed meatball, and it was absolutely delicious. This was something we havent had anywhere else, and we would definitely want to eat it again. For dinner, my wife had the pork chop with risotto and scalloped potatoes. The flavors were on point, and the pork chop was cooked nicely and very juicy. The potatoes and risotto were both undercooked a little but still tasty. I had the picanha with broccolini and risotto and I asked for a side of chimichurri. The picanha was cooked perfectly and was delicious but Ive never had picanha that didnt come sliced already, even when I make it at home for guests I serve it sliced. So cutting through the fat cap on my plate with a serrated steak knife was a little difficult and I think this experience would have been remedied if the steak came sliced or I was given a sharper knife. My risotto was slightly underdone but tasted amazing. The broccolini was steamed and had a soft texture, which was a surprise because Ive always had broccolini served charred with bold spices. The chimichurri was very garlic forward, which I liked, but I couldnt taste any vinegar or spice in it. For dessert we had the cheesecake and we both loved it. Overall, the food here was good but has some room to improve. If the food can come up to the quality of the service and the stunning building, then this place would be 5 stars. I have to say again, the owner was very nice and seemed genuinely interested in our feedback. We will definitely be back to try brunch.

We had such a lovely time dining here on Friday night. The building is so pretty and the ambiance was just as I expected. We didnt feel rushed at all, which I appreciated for a Friday night. To start, we had a couple of drinks: Sweater Weather and the Noble Mule. Both of which were SO GOOD! For starters, we went simple with the Sourdough Points, which O.M.G. looked so normal but was hands down the best bread and butter Ive had. This sounds dramatic but someone please bottle and sell that herb butter, please! For our main courses, we had the beef special of the day, the Picanha steak, and the Pot Roast. My bf said the steak was a 10/10! Id give the pot roast a 7/10, but the meat was so tender! I wish I could take their meat and stick it with my grandmothers broth. Im very interested to try their burgers next time. To finish it off, we tried the Apple Puff for dessert. I wouldve liked the puff pastry a little flakier but the inside was so good! Overall, we were very happy with the food.

Overall a very unpleasant dining experience. First - the whiskeys are WAY over priced! They want $40 for a 2oz pour of Macallan 12!! An entire bottle costs around $86 - retail. This is usually around $17 anywhere else...maybe $20 at a really high end joint. Good luck recognizing any wines on the wine list or beers they have. Whoever made their list must REALLY love IPAs. That or they are a hipster who LOVES hoppy beers. No domestic or imports we all know (or like). Youre in Midlothian, TX - know your audience. We had ordered a bottle of wine, and when the server brought the bottle, she couldnt open it...it was a twist top. She kept saying her hands were sweaty and couldnt grip it. Just what I want...my servers sweat on my wine. I finally asked to take the bottle from her and I opened it. Well...this particular wine tasted like Welchs grape juice. She did allow us to send the bottle back and get another selection. Since I really didnt recognize the majority of the beers, I asked if i could have a tiny sample of their most like a domestic beer on draft. The server told me...we dont sample the beers. So we can send an entire bottle of wine back, but cant sample a draft beer?? I ordered the bacon wrapped meatloaf and it was raw in the middle, the bacon wasnt done, and my sides were barely room temp (and the two bites of meatloaf I had were pretty tasteless). The other people I was with also commented that their food was a tad warmer than room temperature. The owner came by the table and inquired about me sending my food back and not wanting any replacement. She tried to smooth it over and said....You dont like your burgers medium? I actually do like my burgers medium, but my meatloaf was raw in the center, not medium. And you dont cook meatloaf medium. Then she talked about how they cooked it and so forth. Well.....Im an Executive Chef and understand cooking techniques and proper cooking. Ive also built and ran resturants, and understand about wanting to go out on a limb on some things, but also have to balance knowing your area and demographics (talking about the beer and wine selections). Wanted so badly to like this place.

Food was very good. The only reason I didnt give a 5 star was because they put our ticket in late. We received our appetizer right before we received the main course. The food great, a bit pricey, but very fresh! High class dining!

Title: Disappointing Skirt Steak at Porch Pour I recently dined at Porch Pour, and unfortunately, my experience was less than satisfying. I ordered the skirt steak, and to my disappointment, it arrived burnt. I had to remove the charred parts, but even after doing so, the steak still had a strong burnt taste that overshadowed the meal. I rarely write reviews, but this experience left me no choice. I hope this feedback helps Porch Pour improve their cooking standards in the future. Parking: Plenty of parking.

The setting is an old restored building with multiple rooms and was very impressive. The food is farm to table and is excellent. They were out of a few items on the minu, but it was still a very enjoyable experience, and Im really looking forward to going back. Our orders consisted of a steak with sides and a pork chop with sides. Both were cooked to perfection. Parking: This is a new dining and shopping area with a lot of parking.

*Update* after communicating with the manager I m updating my rating. Their concern for the guest experience seems genuine & I appreciate their contact. I d heard mixed reviews about Porch Pour so wanted to check it out for ourselves. First impression was flat - shades of brown inside & out (which is such a shame for such a majestic house). Decor was uninteresting. The uncomfortable chairs were the only color. We were expecting higher prices but market price of $135 for a rib eye steak? We had a delicious blue cheese stuffed meatball as an appetizer & it was tasty. I had the airline chicken (chicken breast with leg). It was cooked perfectly but had zero flavor, garlic mashed potatoes were kinda runny, the broccolini was good. Hubby ordered a medium well burger with no cheese. Burger had cheese so sent it back. It came back but not med well - hunk of very pink meat in the center & no char. I had a beer, hubby had a soda and bill was $75. Waitress was the only highlight of the meal.

Whether choosing to dress up for date night dinner or enjoy a casual lunch, you ll feel comfortable here. Oh yes The food was delicious, too! We had the bacon wrapped meatloaf and catch of the day with risotto. It was well prepared, artfully plated, and delicious. I love to ask servers for recommendations from the menu and at other establishments sometimes get responses that lack substance, but our server was well acquainted with each entree and made excellent recommendations for craft cocktails. The food and experience were so wonderful, I failed to take photos! We will definitely visit again!

Well 10/10 will recommend Tina was amazing as our server and this review calls for a 3 part over view! Let s just take the facts that setting, atmosphere, selection, and staff were all on point. 1. Appetizer: the pork belly buns and deep fried south were amaze-balls they were worth the trip alone 2. The market catch (striped bass) was done like it should have been. The flat iron with sides was its own flavor journey. Both 15/10 3. The key lime crème brûlée was what you need it to be but the cheesecake and caramel brittle was something that you think shouldn t be found in midlothian Texas. This dining was a perfect date night. Ohhhhhhhh Fridays just FYI HALF PRICE BOTTLE OF WINE. Now it is the wine of the week and we got a Argentinian Malbec, that I would ve gladly paid full price for we also signed up for a whiskey and food pairings coming in September so I guess it s safe to say we booked our next visit while there.

I remembered this house when it was in Waxahachie and pink in color. I was very interested to see the work done on it. It is a beautiful structure, well designed, and ornately furnished. A wonderful atmosphere for what was a wonderful meal! This whole experience would not have been what it was without Corry! He was extremely knowledgeable and our biggest cheerleader every time we ordered something. My wife and I had a flight of beers and red wine and there was a large selection of which to choose from on draft. For our appetizers our party ordered the blueberry steak flatbread and the Deep South amidst cheers from Corry, and they even put the red onions on the side to accommodate us. Our partys entrées were the NewYork strip, Airline Chicken, Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf, and the seasonal Mahi Mahi. All was cooked to perfection. Our dessert order was the Strawberry Shortcake, Chocolate Silk Pie and Lime Creme Brulee, and I finished off this meal with a cocktail called London Fog. Everything was delicious and memories were made! Thanks again!

The place is beautiful, very well done. Drinks were great and refilled promptly. The real issue here is the steak is filled with gristle and they dont know how to properly cook them. Final temp was under on both of our steaks with no char on the outside but the amount of gristle was overwhelming to the point of spitting them out in napkins and inedibility. Sides were delicious, desert was meh but decent. If they brought in proper steaks and learned how to cook them this would be a 5 star restaurant every time.

The lunch menu was extremely limited unless you want something very greasy or salmon. I would have expected much lighter fair to fit with the vibe of the place. 5 out of the 6 of our food was too greasy to finish. The 6th meal was salmon, so .... The food took forever and there were the only 4 other people there and two had just showed up. The food is very overpriced and lacks any flavor. The ambiance is unique and inviting. Thats the best part about the place. I wanted to love this place and had looked forward to the visit. We had to wait for a table because the kitchen couldnt keep up. The place wasnt half occupied. The server couldnt recommend/explain a cocktail because she wasnt old enough to drink. My friend ordered a specialty burger, which was not served without the sauce as requested. My friend pointed this out to the server and later the owner. She was offered a new bun without the sauce, not a new burger, a new BUN! I ordered the daily special; some meat cut the server couldnt describe; she would have to ask. I took a chance. It was inedible. The owner came by to introduce herself and inquire about our experience. I inquired about the meat and got a lecture that a cow isnt just made of tenderloin. The Daily Special was made of a shoulder cut (suitable for a pot roast), grilled medium rare like a steak. I didnt eat it and paid $34 for Brussels sprouts and limp truffle fries. The conversation between my friend and me was constantly interrupted by various staff making the rounds and asking every occupied table if we needed anything. We paid to go elsewhere to have a drink and visit. P. S. I ordered Henrys Icecream, which was excellent! The owner told me it is made in north Dallas and served by the best restaurants in the metroplex. Ill have to find another restaurant where I can enjoy it next time.

Overall experience was garbage! Went there last night and had the most unpleasant experience. We were so excited to try this place out due to all the great reviews. The place was nice and quaint. We sat on the porch and the cute little settees looked comfy and inviting, we couldnt resist sitting on them. My mistake for thinking they were safe to sit on!! My jeans were soiled with food and grease from the settees!! I am so glad I didnt have another place to go after this. Atmosphere was nice and despite the soiled and greasy furniture our waiter was terrible. Although he was nice, he disappeared quite often. We waited about 20mins before getting our drinks, my drink was watered down by the time I received it, you can tell from the picture provided. Its supposed to be orange throughout. (Yes, my husband went to go get me a straw to stir it so it was enjoyable). We waited another 30 mins before getting our food. The airline chicken was good, sides and portions were ok. My husbands braised short ribs were crusted chunks of pot roast with ZERO sauce. It was gross. The truffle fries were not worth it, probably about as much as a small fry from McDonalds. And for his other side, he had about 1oz of spinach. He ended up using the ranch for the fries for his braised short ribs! We asked if its normal for this meal to come without any sauce and the server said yeah just the juice thats on the plate. A warning while ordering would have been a nice pro tip. It was an overall bad experience, we dont plan to make another 1.5hr round trip to see if it was just a bad night.

We saw the houses that were moved into founders row and watched with anticipation. The transformation is amazing. We made reservations for a group of 10 and was asked for a deposit. Which isnt totally out of the ordinary, but to pay a non-refundable deposit at an eating establishment thats not applied to food or drink when the reservation was honored is unheard of! I dont see that anyone else mentioned a non-refundable deposit. Also my niece whos now in med school, but was in the food service industry for a few years before working her way into management was so engaging and customer oriented that she had customers who only wanted her to serve them. She wanted to speak to the manager right away about our servers attitude, but, refrained. I see Tina has several good reviews, but she was very dry and not engaging at all, answered our questions with a blunt NO. Our orders were correct alright and the food was good, but we didnt feel our presence was appreciated until my husband visited the bar the girl was very nice and engaging as was the manager when she visited the table. She kept mentioning her other party on the patio! We had bragged about this place from the reviews to our family that was with us that day. I hate to give it three stars, but it is what it is. This is the second time Ive dined at this restaurant. The atmosphere is definitely 5 stars. The cocktails are well-made, and wine selections are pretty good, too. The service was standard; 4 stars in my opinion. We had the same server on both occasions, and while she is nice enough, shes young and seems bored, not interacting much at all other than taking an order. For the atmosphere and lack of patrons, she had plenty of time to create a more engaging experience. The owner came to greet us and was way more friendly, talkative, and willing to answer questions about the homes history and restaurant itself. The food leaves something to be desired, and thats why it gets 3 stars. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich with an up-charged side of brussels sprouts. The sandwich was okay, but there was not even 3 ounces of meat on there, and it was dry. The brussels were too salty. My husband ordered the meatloaf. He HATES mushrooms, and nowhere on the menu does it indicate those are a part of the recipe, yet, they were in there, and a lot of them. The texture of the meatloaf was odd, somewhat loose, like it had been mixed with olive tapenade. So the taste was not like the country meatloaf Id come to love. The price for the steaks and some dishes are a bit overpriced. The only other thing to note was the fact you could see and hear the cook in back yelling at the waitstaff about how unhappy he was over someones order. This was easy to hear, since the bathrooms are fairly close to the kitchen. I really wanted to love this place, but its atmosphere and drinks are the only things that make the visit worth it.

My wife and I greatly enjoyed our Valentine s Day together at The Porch Pour. It was our 2nd time to eat dinner there. Once again, everything was perfect. Having entertained clients in the finest of restaurants in many major cities throughout the country over the last 30 years, I can honestly state that The Porch Pour is as good or better than most other high quality establishments, and most certainly meets and exceeds our expectations. It s definitely worth a try. You will not be sorry. Darrell and Lynne Adkerson

Sadly, we must amend our earlier review. Weve again given the Porch Pour another try. But, on our last two (2) visits things have spiraled downward. We scheduled a birthday brunch in December 2022. For the longest time, we were the only ones in the restaurant & the only ones in our reserved area. Eggs were cold, grits were intolerable & ham was tough & overcooked. Service was distant at first, but improved. We visited, had brunch, opened birthday gifts & then were approached by management to wrap things up. By now, there were only six (6) other guests in the restaurant besides our party. Thats inexcusable. If it was busy place? Yeah, maybe. We didnt respond. We just paid & left. We didnt write a review or lodge a compliant, we counted it off to an inexperienced manager. This evening (2/11/23) took the cake. A member of my family & a friend went in and were seated. This time only two (2) other guests were in the restaurant at the bar. After fifteen (15) minutes, no service. No visible wait staff or management. They left and no one cared or noticed. Leniency again... two stars. I fear this establishment wont be around much longer. Hurry up Wilsons Seafood; Midlothian needs you!

This place is wonderful! The hospitality and atmosphere was amazing! We came in for dinner. We tried the porch board and pork belly puff pastry for apps. Both were excellent the meatballs on the board were out of this world. We did French onion soup instead of salads. Amazing! I ordered a NY strip my wife got short ribs. This steak was the best Ive eaten in a very long time. The quality of the beef shined through and it was cooked perfectly. We loved it so much we went back for brunch the next morning and it was also very delicious. Highly recommended!! We will be visiting this spot frequently. Parking: Great parking right in front.

Do yourself a favor & head to The Porch Pour ASAP! The atmosphere is truly exquisite as was our brunch. An absolute gem of a dining establishment which is well worth the drive from Fort Worth any day of the week. Impeccable service, decadent cocktails & a menu that has you salivating before you even arrive. Speaking of the menu, I also must add you will find their prices extremely reasonable. Almost a rarity this day and age. Dining at The Porch Pour is an experience .and one that you don t want to miss out on!

We had one of the rudest waitresses Ive had. She has a nose ring and attitude to boot. We celebrated my sisters birthday this evening and had to sit at separated tables for our party of 10. While I understand the situation where they say they cant move the heavy outdoor tables it was very awkward, but then to have one of the waitresses say yall have a too big a party size, but we love it (in a sarcastic manner) was inappropriate. Food is overpriced and I did not appreciate that specific waitress. We wont be back.

Food was good. However, they brought me the wrong dish, so had to wait while my SO received hers. They also forgot one of my kids grill cheese. Two mistakes on a Wednesday night was odd to me. So, not sure if it was waitress or kitchen fault. It was my birthday, so it wasnt a good experience, but will give credit that food was good.

This was our first time going to The Porch Pour. It was for our anniversary dinner. Even put that on our reservation. So let me start with the pros: Atmosphere is fantastic and the house is decorated beautifully. Tawny came to our table to introduce herself and wish us Happy Anniversary. Wait staff was very good and very knowledgeable about menu. My dinner (Mahi Mahi w/tomato jam, broccolini and mushroom risoto) was fantastic. We had the pork belly puff pastry for appetizer and it was very tasty! (A friend told us to get the Cowboy Egg rolls, but they had run out). My husband had a couple of beers and although they only serve craft type beer, he was able to find one he liked very much (hes a Pilsner guy, had the Texas Lager). Cons: We had reservation at 745pm, but our table was not ready until about 8pm. Not really a big deal as we had a drink at the bar while we waited. We ordered our food about 815pm. Got our appetizer about 830. Our actual meal didnt come out until almost 920pm. Like I said earlier, my meal was fantastic. My husband had the bacon wrapped meatloaf which he said was very good; however, he got fingerling potatoes and Brussel sprouts, both of which were burnt. After our meal, our server asked us how our meal was and I shared with her that the meal was very good, except for the potatoes and Brussel sprouts being burnt. She stated she had noticed that on several plates. I guess the biggest con for me is that this dinner was for a special occasion and most high end restaurants that I have been to in the past will have some sort of table decoration in honor of said occasion or a complimentary dessert. Neither was offered. In my personal opinion, this would be a nice touch to add......especially when you have spent $100+ on dinner and drinks. With all that being said, it is WONDERFUL that Midlothian has such a nice upscale restaurant and we dont have to drive into Dallas. It is literally onlt 10 minutes or so from anywhere in Midlothian!! Looking forward to trying their brunch in the near future.

Very nice place not too far from Dallas. Loves that they have indoor and outdoor seating. The food was delicious. They had just switched to their winter menu for both their food and cocktail menu. The cowboy egg rolls were delicious as well as their pork chop and short ribs. Id definitely recommend this place for a nice night out. Vegetarian options: The menu specifies vegetarian options. Not many but they do have them. Parking: Plenty of parking both on the front and back side. Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp on the back side.

We had the Winter Mule & London Fog cocktails which were so good . The tenderloin is the best we ve ever had. Love that everything if farm to table. Dessert was apple cinnamon bread pudding with cinnamon ice cream - yummy! Highly recommend!!! We will be back!

My wife and I enjoy this place! First, the food is outstanding! Although pricy, the quality is worth the extra penny. It is obvious after the first bite that the food outperforms any corporate chain restaurant; the food tastes like it was made with pride and love. Second, the service is welcoming and attentive. Tina - our server every time we have gone - is a delight! She was very attentive, a witty conversationalist, and offers fitting recommendations. Yesterday s recommendation was the French toast, which was on the mark and very tasty! Finally, the atmosphere is very inviting. From the second you enter; the greeter makes you feel like you walked into your own home a very beautiful 19th century home! Visually deceiving from the outside, the restaurant offers plenty of space to eat and socialize privately, without having to compete with loud music or rowdy customers. This is a huge recommendation and possibly the best spot in Ellis and Navarro counties!

The story of how the house brought to the area and the inside decorations were worth seeing! However, I would only go back to this restaurant for the drinks. The food is overpriced for how bland the food is. While the manager did come to the table to give us information on the house and renovations, the service and food lacked. Our server had a RBF and seemed like she should be working at Buffalo Wild Wings. The only time she was attentive and mustered the fakest smile was when she brought out the check in hopes of a great tip. While she did receive a decent tip, I will not be returning. Save your tip, money and hunger for a different restaurant.

I get it: the developers of this block need a huge congratulations for the concept. The restaurant owners need to be congratulated on creating a quaint and cozy high end dining in Midlothian. My experience was that the service and food quality did not match the prices. Tina, our server, was either (at best) over-worked or (worst) just didn t care about us. Food came out room temp with very little flavor and she was consistently inattentive to our table. The owner came over to greet us and to tell us about the concept. Her mission: to create a fine dining experience without having to drive to Dallas. I ordered the Airline chicken. Thought the name was hilarious and my guess was that they under-promise and over deliver. No. It was exactly as advertised. The short rib was very tender, and oddly- was the only dish that had any flavor. The chef smothers it in spice, making it unbearable. Truly, a form of torture when hungry because you WANT to eat, but simply can t. I found it interesting because every dish lacks flavor, but this one dish they decided to make up for it and went all in. Well- I live in Dallas and we came down to experience Porch Pour. Overall- I should have stayed in Dallas to receive a high quality, high service dining experience. Restaurants sometimes have the concept, but fail the execution. This seems to be happening here at Porch Pour. Hopefully, they ll stay afloat until they catch their stride and maybe in another years time I ll come back to try it again. Our total spend was over $600 - in which it was merely a quarter of the value received. Updated response to owner: No, not at all. The food and service are horrible.
