It s in the HEB, not a fan of that but the food was good. Was particularly impressed with the beans. Had the brisket and it was good. Good smoke and the BBQ sauce was complimentary to it, but it only comes in single serve dishes. I expect it may cost extra for more but I didn t bother asking. Service was with a smile and there was no waiting at 2:30 in the afternoon.

When I arrived to the restaurant I showed them my receipt for pick up and for what ever reason they couldn t find it. I was first in line yet the cashier told me to wait until the person behind me ordered their food. After maybe 5 minutes I asked what about my order, yet none of the workers could speak English and finally I got my food. When I was walking away the same workers started speaking English so what was that about?? By the time I got my food it was all cold and I was missing my extra bread and sauces that I ordered. The restaurant has been going downhill since the last couple of times I have went.

This place has gone down hill big time. Worked in Midland in 2019 and 2020 and this was one of my favorite spots. Brisker use to be great, and sides were on point too. Came back for work today and was excited to go back to this place. Man was it terrible. Brisket was cold and dry, cornbread has completely changed and was dry and nasty. Service was slow and one big lady with a bonnet and a mask just mean mugged me and my son the whole time we were getting drinks. Not to mention the soda machine was down, and they messed up our order. Completely mismanaged. Absolute garbage, won t be back.

Ordered delivery with Favor because no vehicle. Missing collard greens and BBQ sauce. We had to make our own BBQ sauce. Called store and took what seemed like forever to get through to them. When they finally answered the phone, they wanted us to come into store to get missing items. They sausage is also so tough that my 13 year old nephew cant even chew it. I usually eat here when I shop at H E B and usually good. I ate here 5-8-24 and was worse I ever had here. 1. The lady taking orders acted like she would rather be anyplace but there. 2. She got my name wrong so my order sat there until it was cold because they were calling a name not even close to mine. I ordered the same thing I always get fatty brisket, collard greens and Mac n cheese. How does fatty brisket get so dry. It looked like they gave me dry brisket and threw a chunk of fat on top. When I have to recommend a BBQ place in Midland, this is it. Yes, it s not as home style as KD s, but it is pretty close for less than half the price. The food was the best I have had in a very long time. I had been craving some bbq for a while and im so glad I decided to order from this place. The ribs were juicy, tender and meaty. The turkey is tender and yummy. And the chopped brisket is just delicious. For the sides I got their Mac n cheese and the beans. Ever was so good. I have eaten here a couple times, and if you want really good down home, Texas barbecue, this place is it, they have such a good selection of not only BBQ meats, but also the sides. Today I had the beef brisket and the barbecue sausage, with collard greens and coleslaw. The brisket had that nice crispy outer edge and a nice smoke ring, and the flavor was delicious. It s hard not to love barbecue, but really good barbecue is the best, the smoked sausage was just as delicious and flavorful. I like the side choices they have like I said I had to collard greens And the coleslaw which both were great, and the other sides they have like mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, cornbread, and many other sides to choose from. The service is excellent always friendly, and the nice thing is it s inside the HEB grocery store so it s perfect. Definitely worth trying if you re in Midland.

I ordered a two meat plate, ribs turkey with mac n cheese and cornbread. I also ordered a brisket potato on the side and extra bbq sauce. Well they charged for the potatoe and did not give me the potatoe with brisket, gave us zero bbq sauces, cornbread tasted like it was made two weeks ago. Turkey was dry I mean as dry as dirt, ribs were severely over cooked. Mac and cheese tasted bland, I didn t even think that was possible. For a $30 plate I should get what I pay for but nope. I highly do not recommend this place. Worse bbq in Texas hands down.

I was honestly a little disappointed. We got our food pretty quickly, but I had much higher hopes than what we got. We ordered two lean brisket sandwiches and a smoked turkey sandwich. They were out of cornbread and mac and cheese, which is what we had originally wanted. We got the sandwiches and discovered a rather large amount of fat in the lean brisket. The flavor was almost nonexistent as well. The turkey was dry, as if it had been sitting awhile. The workers were nice enough, but I dont see us coming back. Its disappointing because I really love BBQ and was hoping to get some good eats.

The food is ok at best definitely not worth the price. Ordered in the app and before I got there they called to inform me they didn t have the brisket I ordered and I could have pork in its place. That would have been fine except the price difference. The bbq sandwiches are inexpensive but really tasty and filling, the brisket chili was a warm hug of meat in this cold weather, and the Mac and cheese side battled for star of the show. I used to love this place! It really was a hidden gem. For about the past year this place has had some issues. A lot of the times the orders have been wrong, completely forgetting an entire plate. Of course this isn t realized until after arriving home. They also tend to forget the little things like bread, onion and pickles. I ve seen where the soda fountain is out of order and canned drinks are served. One thing I have noticed is that the plates have been downsized. McDonalds may get away with this, but not real BBQ. Communication/ comprehension could be better too. I m very disappointed because it s so close to home. I have given it multiple chances but it s just not working out anymore.

Ordered a slice brisket sandwich and peach cobbler. The cobbler was absolutely delicious. But, the brisket sandwich was fatty and gristley. It was simply awful. After 2 bites, I threw the rest away. I dont recommend True Texas BBQ at HEB Midland, at all.

Grocery Store Texas style BBQ. Now HEB knows how to do prepared food well and this eatery is no exception. Friendly front staff and food tasted great. Especially like the side orders of coleslaw and beans. Skip the fruit cobbler since most of the dish is white bread. Would have given higher score but took 22 minutes to assemble a simple order.

Was hoping to try True Texas BBQ, but they said they don t accept call ahead orders over the phone (like a normal to-go order), and she told me to use Favor for delivery. Such a bummer because I was getting my curbside groceries and was hoping to snag dinner easily. Really inconvenient.

The BBQ tastes great, but dont get the lean brisket or it will be too dry. Also, the wait times can be pretty bad. I came at 3pm on a Sunday and waited half an hour for a pound of brisket and a mac n cheese.

I ordered their turkey sandwich and let me say I was really shocked. I was expecting it to be slightly dry as that has been my past experiences with other BBQ joints. I was really shocked how juicy their turkey was. In fact I ordered a pound to go and thats what I ate for lunch the following day and it was still just as good as it was the first. If you like turkey then I recommend giving it try!
