*****This is Baked Jerk****** *Horrible horrible Horrible! I don t recommend any one who loves the Caribbean island tastes of Jamaica! to go here.(1st issue)They re selling Sorrel with rum without informing you. I specifically asked if you had sorrel and the lady said yes!! Not sorrel and Rum. Like that s not professional nor cool. I have high blood pressure and to be drinking alcohol at lunch time isn t it. Secondly, Be prepared to get child size portion of fry s literally for adult meal with wings. Last but not least the rice and peas is just plain white rice and red beans without the herb s and coconut Jamaicans use to make rice and peas. I don t recommend anyone. There was not a lunch special requested FYI

This food is horrible the worst I have ever had. The cabbage taste old or spoiled. The Stewed Chicken is pink under cooked. The jerk chicken tastes weird the stewed chicken tastes bad. Rice and peas no taste just the stink from the chicken. $25.00 wasted. Never in my life have I had Jamaican food this bad.The people are very nice and the place was clean. Good music.

I got a large cup of chicken soup at Reggae Wings & Tings . The soup had me at aroma and first taste confirmed everything I was smelling. I was immediately whisked back to halfway tree road in Kingston Jamaica and front of a street cookshop. Those little food stands sell the best and tastiest soups on the island. Thats how good this soup was.

I m at a lost for words. The first Jamaican Spot I tried in TX disappointed me so much that I was almost scared to try again. But THIS PLACE? Raggae Wings & Tings!? ON POINT!! Everything was beyond my expectations!! It s authentic. It s Fresh. It s delicious. You HAVE to try it!! The food was AMAZING and so was the customer service!! 10/10 absolutely recommend! The food was so good I didn t even make it to taking pictures. But we got the Chicken Curry, the Brown Stew Chicken, The oxtail, and the Jerk Shrimp. Our sides were rice n peas, cabbage, and macaroni cheese for everything. We also got a few pieces of Coco Bread and Plaintains. EVERYTHING was banging. I personally like my plantains fried HARD and these were more on the soft side but they were still SO GOOD!! I m definitely going back!! I m in LOVE!!

worked there for 13 days just to get told that i wasnt able to work there anymore or couldnt get paid because my mother came up on my behalf because I felt attacked when the owner said I was killing their business because im not getting any tips and that helps pay them.. but they never wanted to talk about how pay worked for me especially as a minor. ive done my job everyday and is respectful to everyone. once the conversation was over i asked if i was getting my money she said no. looks like U.S Labor laws and department is the only answer.

My coworkers and I decided to try this place out as weve heard nothing but good things about it. Fir starters, the lemon pepper wings were the star of the show. They were cooked very well and seasoned to perfection!! The jerk chicken was good as well, along with the cabbage which was very good. Now the rice and peas, had no flavoring whatsoever. The oxtails had a good flavor but they were so tough, you couldnt really enjoy them. The spinach was good as well as the fried bread. The jerk salad wasnt anything to write about as it was just meat and lettuce, literally. We also tried the curry chicken, which had a good flavor not sure it was authentic though. The chicken patty, barely had any fillings and it didnt really taste like anything. The macaroni was just okay. Id definitely go back for the wings though, lol

Not authentic Jamaican or very inconsistent. I went off of the reviews and ordered lunch. The cabbage was disgusting and wasnt cooked or seasoned, the rice and peas was old (stale) very dry and tasteless, the cloves seasoning in the oxtail was overpowering to the point of being nauseating (you cant be heavy handed with cloves!!). Couldnt even taste the flavor of the oxtail, just spicy and cloves . The whole plate was inedible and stunk so bad (like dirty socks). Maybe it was just a bad day or they changed the cook or I got some old food.. but yikes! Very disappointed with my first experience. (Only thing edible on the $25 plate was that little coconut thingy.. dont know what it was Lol)

I wanted some authentic Jamaican food while visiting Mesquite TX and my guy suggested this place. It did not disappoint!!. We ordered oxtail, mac and cheese, rice and peas, jerk chicken, cabbage, spicy orange wings, pound cake and rum cake. Everything thing was good but the star of the show was the mini coconut muffin thing. OMG, they were so good paired with the dishes and I normally dont like coconut anything. The service was welcoming and the atmosphere was pleasant. We will be returning.

This was my first time visiting this place, but definitely my last. Bought 3 large meals, curry chicken, oxtails, and jerk chicken. As a true jamaican, this wasnt authentic at all. The rice must be parboil rice. If that is the case, you need to let your customers know. Its definitely not edible for me. Curry chicken was too salty, oxtail not good and the jerk was way too spicy to even taste the chicken. Plantains are suppose to come with the meal not that round coconut muffin. For the money spent, it was a waste.

Out of everything Ive ever eaten this is hands down the best and now my favorite food I have ever eaten, the jerk chicken is for sure the star of the show when foods are seasoned they should taste and feel that way this is far from all exceptions it has an indescribable taste that will have you wanted more and it comes in surprisingly large proportions with super fair pricing, the sides I had fried okra and white rice were perfect more on the fried okra also was the best Ive ever had it was super crispy and full of taste, the service was really nice the man was very respectful and most shouldnt have a problem communicating there was also another woman who was really kind and talked to us I believe shes one of the cooks or perhaps owner she was really humble and had a charming aura, the overall atmosphere of the place was nice too the smell of their amazing food fills the place and the decor all around is interesting eye candy and the music was a very nice vibe overall a really nice experience that I will 1000% be having numerous times as long as they are here you will not regret trying them.

My boyfriend and I both ordered the large size of the Jerk Chicken plate. I chose mac n cheese and fries as my sides, he chose mac n cheese and white rice. The proportions were HUGE! We could ve shared a single plate & it would ve been more than enough. It was $15 a plate & for the amount of food we received that s veryyy reasonable. The chicken was seasoned to perfection, wasn t dry, & had just enough spice too it. The mac n cheese was very good. Full of flavor and creamy. The fries even had a seasoning on them that was good. The lady who helped us was very kind & patient with helping us look through the menu. There s a stage for live music but when we came they just had music playing over the speakers. We both can t wait to try more on the menu.

I was excited to find a Caribbean restaurant in Dallas. My friend and I had the pork, brown stew chicken, cabbage, beef patties, and Mac and Cheese. Unfortunately, it was not good. The food took about 30 minutes to come out, and lacked flavor. The patties are frozen then reheated. We ended up just throwing the food away, and buying something else. Giving the food 2 stars because it s edible and not the worst thing I ve had, but definitely not going back when I want some Jamaican food.

In the mood for some island food? Look no further! Thursday night and we were in the mood for some spice and comfort. Enter Reggae Wings & Tings!! This Caribbean eatery in Mesquite is a black owned establishment, that strives to bring good vibes and food to all. The party starts in the parking lot! As you drive up, you are greeted by reggae music that prepares you for all that is inside. The restaurant is decorated with beautiful art that makes you feel like you are peeking into memories of island bliss. The staff is friendly and makes it a point to make you feel like you are part of the family. The menu is full of your typical caribbean favorites. Jerk Chicken, Oxtails, Rice and Peas. All the tings that tickle the senses. Sah and I decide to divide and conquer the menu by sharing. Its a good thing that we did! These people are looking to FEED YOU! Once you leave, be quick to head straight home, because the ITIS is on the way! The small Jerk Chicken, with Rice & Peas, and Plantains is a meal upmatched! At first, I was a little skepitcal since the chicken was oven baked, but I am here to tell you; THEY DID THAT! The chicken was juicy, spicy, and had the reminiscent char we experienced in Jamaica. The small was also dag gone near a HALF CHICKEN! The rice and peas were flavorful, but the plantains? Deep amber and carmarlized, pillows of fried plantain goodness. If you do nothing else, be sure to order these! We also ordered the 6 wings and fries in the Bob Marley flavor. The wings were cooked to perfection, well sauced and just the right amount of spice. The fries were fresh and hot(truly the only way) and in a heaping mound! Served with dipping sauce. Now, the dipping sauce was kind of weird. Similar to a broken ranch, but didnt quite taste like it. Honestly, I cant wait to eat my way through the menu. Island worthy, CHECK IT OUT!!

I was recommended by a patient of mine who said the food was similar to food in NY. 1st i like to say the service was great , real down to earth people and very nice. However the place seems dirty and it smelled like a bad sewer problem. ( Im not sure if it was just that day) We spent $100 We got oxtails i had to cut the meat with a knife so that tells you about that. Jerk chicking wings i felt like they put a spoon full of walkerwoods jerk seasoning on each wing. Im West Indian so i can deal with spicy but it was too much spice to the point i couldn t enjoy the wings. Pepper shrimp was good. Plantains were good. I simply wouldn t return because of the cleanliness.

The food is always delicious however the rice and peas are hit or miss. Most of the time the rice is not done, extra crunchy, and dry other then that the food is delicious. ***Also the beef patties are not authentic they come frozen out the box.***

Ppl, di food nuh have nuh taste. I should ve trusted the reviews. It s my first time ordering from this place because my favorite Jamaican spot was closed. I ordered the jerk chicken and the curry goat on UberEats and it took them almost 30mins to even accept my order. When I called in to confirm if my order was received, they said they have no record of my name or anything and I should cancel and try again. I tried canceling on my end, but it would prompt a cancellation fee of $30+ as my order was $40+ so I left it. Started a new order with a different restaurant (which ended up coming way before this order) and 2, 2s mi see seh a driver is heading to pick up the food from Reggae W&T. My food came and it was a hot a$$ mess. Curry gravy all over the place, curry gravy seep through the box a jerk chicken and - it was just unpleasant. The curry goat had 0 TASTE, I didn t even know if I was eating goat or wah, the jerk chicken very spicy but nooo flavor. I feel like if it had flavor, it would ve tasted sooo good cause the right amount of spice is definitely there. I had just a taste of each (literally like a toddler s taste) and I couldn t have anymore. It just wasn t enjoyable and I could definitely tell it wasn t a Jamaican in that kitchen . I am DISAPPOINTED. Mi born and grow a Jamaica and lived in South Florida for years so I know what authentic Jamaican food tastes like and this is NOT IT.

Their jerk chicken with rice and peas was an absolute revelation. The chicken was baked to perfection, generously seasoned with a balance of jerk spices that hit just the right note. The rice and peas were the perfect accompaniment, infusing every bite with a delightful taste that complemented the chicken wonderfully. In the sea of Jamaican restaurants Ive been to, Reggae Wings & Tings truly stands out. Its not just about the food, its about the experience - and theyve nailed it to perfection. Undoubtedly one of the best Jamaican food experiences Ive had. Five sun-soaked, flavor-filled stars!

Having worked in the hospitality industry Im accustomed to the terms front of house and back of house. Front of house at this hotel is impressive. These are the images that you see on the internet. Back of the house needs some updates. I pay attention to details that most people look over. Rusted light fixtures, corrosion on shower fixtures, popcorn ceiling falling apart, torn lampshades in guest rooms, musty odors from old carpet that needs shampooing. Obviously an older facility.

Also a kids shrimp basket. The oxtails were smothered in a tasty, but a bit salty sauce, the oxtails themselves didnt have much meat, the cabbage should have been called dry coleslaw, but the plaintans were tasty even though I didnt get very many. The kids shrimp basket was basically just a huge pile of under seasoned fries and a few mini size shrimp. Definitely wont be trying this place out again anytime soon.

First time :) Jerk chicken with mac n cheese, plantains, 1 chicken pie and x2 meat pies. Nice portions! Everything tasted like a home cooked meal and was authentic. The jerk chicken is tender and falls off of the bone. The meat pie crust is so flaky and delicous I will be back to try other items on menu Vegetarian options: Veggie pies

Customer service was SUPERIOR!! I came by 4/16 to try the jerk chicken plate. I never heard of them just googled something and decided to give them a try. I honestly didn t have much expectations of this place, but I was honestly shocked at how good the food was and I never knew about them sooner seriously!!! The young lady working the front was very gracious with my serving for me having to wait a while for my order (it was very fresh) I came back the following day 4/17 just to test my luck and see if they were really that good lol, YALL that s how good it was the Mac, cabbage, and jerk stew chicken is a BANGER!!! New favorite Thank you Marissa

A waste of food and money. I called to inform the manager of my experience. She offered me a comp meal but after nearly choking on the dry rice and peas and cabbage I could not bring myself to return. That s what I get for not listening someone told me they were not a good choice but I always use my own judgement. This one time I wish I had listened. And she right the place further up the road is awesome.

Listen the waitress/cashier was just delightful, but we really felt catfished. When you enter the establishment incense burning and the sounds of Bob Marley actually greet you before an actual employee does. We stood there confused and in an incense daze of whether we should sit or wait or what. Finally a young lady showed up to the counter and asked how she may help us through the glass. We inquired if we were supposed to seat ourselves or??? She indicates that we could order first and then sit wherever we would like. We quickly eyeballed the menu and ordered. Ok now wait for it .she immediately gave us our total and asked for form of payment. Talk about deer in the headlights look. Anyway we obliged. Then the question came up on the touchpad about a tip. Are you kidding me? You expect people to pre-tip, absolutely not. So we had a seat. We were the only customers and that for me is always scary. But anyway, I thought we re here now let s make the best of it. When the lady appeared 7-10 minutes later with two greasy paper bags, I was perplexed. Opened the bags and to our surprise our meat pies were just dropped down in the bag. Ok I ll stop now. Let me say this, if you re gonna be operating like a food truck do that, don t give the fake illusion of a restaurant. Food was just blahhh. Not impressed and unfortunately we won t won t return.

If I ever step foot in this place again, I m dumping out ALL THE HOTSAUCE and flipping all the tables. Absolutely HORRIBLE. The woman who took my order (who I was told is the owner) put in chicken patties, which I corrected verbally with her once I saw it. As I was paying the lady went to the back with out even completing my order which is why I never got my receipt from her. A very long wait later, the young guy mumbled something and gives me cabbage, which I did not order, because their cabbage is very dry. I tell him I did not order cabbage, he goes back to the kitchen again. Then the owner comes out again and tells me I ordered cabbage, which again, I don t even like their cabbage . I could barely hear her the whole time which is probably why she got my order wrong to begin with. She was unnecessarily rude and said she would not give me my money back for the order she put in wrong. I m going to the other Jamaican spot off Military from now on. Smh Come on. We can do better.

The food was decent but I dont like getting played. When ordering the food, I wasnt offered small medium or large so I guess the owner decides I wanted large everything including the sorrel! What the heck?! Who drinks that much sorrel at one sitting?! I love jerk chicken and have had my share of street jerk as well as Scotchies in Jamaica, but this jerk was not authentic. It was covered in walkerswood sauce. I can do that myself. She called my husband a cheap date because he wasnt ordering much (due to a mouth injury); so I guess I had to make up for the difference (in price) with my order. Needless to say, we wont be returning. Plaintains were the best thing going.

I was looking for a good Jamaican Food restaurant here in Dallas because I m new here. I ordered the Curry Chicken and was terribly disappointed, the rice was OLD & HARD like it was leftover from 3 days ago. The Chicken had some kind of Jelly-like substance (SEE PHOTO) in it and there wasn t a curry flavor at all, it just taste like smothered chicken & Jelly. Coming from a state like California where there is authentic Jamaican Food, I can honestly say that this was definitely a disappointment.

I had been wanting to try their food again because I had tried there chicken wings a year or so back. I had business in the neighborhood so I decided to try because they have a lunch special for $7.99. I ordered the chicken curry which a customer told me was good. When the cashier told me how much it was it was 1399 plus they charge me for the drink and an appetizer meat pie. It was $24 and I tipped them 15%. The portions were large especially the beans and rice, plenty of chicken, but I did not like the cabbage, it had a sour smell reminded me of something spoiled. Im sure thats just the way it is made. When I asked about the lunch special price they said it was very small amount and that I wouldnt like it. At that point I agreed go ahead stay with the larger entree. I realized now that I do not like curry chicken and the beans and rice to me are rather Bland. I wish I had gotten the wings or shrimp as I saw other people doing but they had ordered before I even ordered and they were still waiting on their food after I head men serve and finished my meal. The most unbelievable, mind-blowing, occurrence while I was dying there, I asked the owner if I could have some hot sauce to put on my food. She looked me Square in the eye and tell me that I had to buy hot sauce because people used too much of it and it was very expensive. I replied to her that I had to spend 20 something dollars plus tip almost $5 if she was going to deny me a common courtesy of a condiment with my meal? I could not believe that she was basically accusing a paying customer because she had problems with other previous customers of being a thief of hot sauce. This was some really outrageous treatment and a ill-mannered attitude towards a potential future customer. I was not impressed with the food but I certainly was not impressed with the treatment over a $2 bottle of hot sauce from which I only needed few drops. You wont see me or my family ever patronize this establishment again. We only go where we are treated fairly and our business is appreciated.
