I use to go here a lot. Tonight I ordered a brisket and sausage plate. It was not good at all. The brisket was mostly a big blob of greasy fat, and the small piece that wasn t fat had no taste to it.. The green part of the fried okra was hard. The pinto beans were pretty much mush without any flavor. The sausage was good, after I soaked all the grease out of it. Barbecue sauce and bread were good. I m so disappointed. Y all can do much better than this. I usually go to Slab s, and I wish I would have gone there tonight instead.

This is great downhome bbq. The ribs are always great(SO GOOD YOU DONT NEED SAUCE), customer service on point and place great. This is the only Bakers I go to. You cant bet the value, Its like coming home to your own family for bbq, not fancy just good food and good people.

This is a nice little hole-in-the-wall style of rub place, with basic bench seating and an array of comedic sayings on signs around the counter. Its sweet, its comfortable, and its terrific. It being Monday, I had the rib plate on special, with potato salad and green beans, and a pecan fried pie for dessert. First things first: The ribs utterly eclipsed my childhood favorite of Split Rail. The meat is good and smoky, with an excellent bark (and a tender bite). The meat was literally fall-off-the-bone tender. The sauce is much more smoky than sweet. This caters to my preferences, but I know some people prefer a sweeter sauce. You get an entire bottle all to yourself, though I used it sparingly to enjoy the flavor of the ribs. The potato salad is mayonnaise based. Not my usual (I prefer mustard), but delicious and well-made. No stiff potatoes here! The green beans were absolutely traditional, right down to the bacon they were cooked with. A slice of Texas toast served as a vehicle for more sauce. Okay, Im not a huge fan of most breads. A large half-sweet tea finished it off and was just right for my level of sweetness. Finally, the fried pie was big, soft, and full of delicious pecan pie filling. Absolutely loved every minute, from the attentive host (and free wifi) to the last sip of tea. Definitely looking forward to a return trip!

The food wasnt all that. It was okay...ish. The ribs werent the best, they were thin and had little meat on it. The fries, sausage and the toast were the only things I enjoyed. The consistency of the beans was sloppy, and had a weird burnt after taste. It wasnt the worst food Ive tried, just wouldnt convince me to go again, especially since it was pretty pricey, I dont think it was worth the amount we paid.

I went to their Mesquite Texas location. Yes, it s old and a bit run down but that kind of adds to the charm. At $15 for a two meat dinner plate, it s a huge bargain. I got the brisket and smoked sausage with coleslaw and potato salad on the side. Comes with some thick Texas toast as well. Everything was very very good. The sausage was super flavorful and just the right amount of kick. The sauce was excellent as well. The meats were juicy and flavorful, not a lot of fat on the brisket, in fact, I didn t notice any. But it was still moist and juicy and really good. Maybe not the absolute pinnacle of perfection but very close at a very reasonable price. Other places it could ve cost twice that, but then it would probably have come with something other than Styrofoam plates and plastic utensils. It was so good I got a pulled pork sandwich and a turkey sandwich for lunch tomorrow. I m traveling so in a hotel. That sounded so much better than any other fast food type place I would ve gotten lunch at.

The drive-thru clerk was very helpful and honest with helping me decide,which meal to order between a choice for a kids meal or (2) meat plate. I chose the two meat plate and I was very happy with my choice and side selections. The ribs were spectacular and just the right smoke taste I had been previously searching for, while dining at other barbeque restaurants but unable to find. I will be visiting again very soon. I went in for the Brisket and I keep returning for the ribs. The brisket is not bad but it also isnt the best. The ribs on the other hand are great. I found out about this restaurant a couple of weeks ago and now Ive been going about 2 - 3 times a week. Ratings Ribs: 9/10 The ribs are nicely cooked to a proper temperature and the flavor that the ribs carry is really good. Brisket: 5/10 The brisket doesnt have a lot of flavor and its slightly overcooked and dry. (Adding their barbeque sauce would make it into a 6/10) Barbeque Sauce: 7/10 I dont eat barbeque sauce just because I dont typically like the taste of it but the barbeque sauce at Bakers Ribs is surprisingly good. Smoke Sausage: 9/10 The sausage has a good flavor and would be better if it had cheese inside Mac & Cheese: 7/10 Nothing special but still good

THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY!!! I went here December 11 ordered a brisket plate. When I got home, I opened the plate it was a lot of bark and not edible. I took it back to them and asked for a refund. She gave me a ticket showing the transaction had been voided. A couple of days later the money leaves my bank account, I think fine, the money should be returned to my bank in another day. A week later, still no credit. December 26, the funds have yet to be credited to my bank account, I have filed a dispute with my bank. I m guessing she voided it and printed me a receipt but must have went back into the computer after I left and voided that transaction hoping I wouldn t notice. I did notice and I m warning everyone about your deceitful business practices.

This place is amazing, their sloppy joes are great and the prices are insanely good, our total came out to 16 dollars and we couldnt even finish our meal it was so filling, I particularly loved the scallops and pasta salad which were amazing though I also absolutely adored the sloppy joes, its good meat and the buns are toasted, the best part, they give you the barbecue on the side so you can give yourself as much or little as youd like

Went to the drive thru ordered sandwich baskets, I asked for sliced beef on sandwich. They gave me chopped beef instead. Basket came with fries. The fries were either leftover from day before or sat under a heat lamp for hours. They open around 10:30 and I was there about 12:45. Usually good, but worst meal I have ever had at Bakers Rib. I will be a long time before I return here. Parking: Needs to be repaved. Have to dodge holes.

First off I love Bakers ribs! I literally come to the mesquite location ever other day! Today I came through the drive thru, a man answered the intercom and kept acting like he couldn t hear! I proceeded to the window, told him that I wanted a kids plate w/ Ribs, Macaroni& Cheese, French Fries ! Then I asked him to make sure Mac& cheese wasn t runny because sometimes it do be, I don t complain! I just don t order it.. he said it was fine, then said your total is $16.75, I m like for a kids plate.. he seemed annoyed! He corrected it, I paid! Received food, asked for onions, he said $.25 extra I m like never mind! I leave check food, Mac & cheese is runny! Called them to explain what went on, A girl kept saying hello, Hello, hello , I can t hear you! And I know she heard me.. You guys lost a faithful customer today all because of poor service! WOW! I live in Irving TX. Come to do some shopping in the area. Soon as I get out of my car. The smell of BBQ hit my nose. I look around an see Baker Ribs. Im not a big BBQ person. Once I finished shopping I said let try it and plus they sell Fried pies took. Bingo! I opened my plate. Presentation was on point. I took a bite and OH MY GOODNESS! Ribs was Super Super Super Tender and Seasoning on point. Bake beans was Great. The regular and hot BBQ sauce was Excellent Flavor. Now the Peach fried pies were the BOMB! Overall was a 5 Star! Bought 1 lb of sliced brisket to go. Got home and opened container. The brisket was not sliced and it looked like it was pulled and placed in container. It was the worst brisket I have ever eaten. It was over cooked and dry. I gave it a 1 and it should have been zero stars. The mangager needs to find another Cook who knows about brisket. I paid $26.00 a pound for this awful meat.! Will not refer anyone to this resturant.

First time here. The place is nasty. They need a health department. The floor was filthy, the seats in the booths are terrible(badly peeling). They got pieces of papertowel or newspaper under the tables and chairs to level. Looks bad. I could not eat my mac&cheese because a gnat was on it. I tasted the other side and it tasted nasty with no flavor. I really couldnt concentrate on eating because of how nasty the place was. My fiance was feeling a certain way about me and my sons complaints so I just forced myself to eat some of it. I know he didnt want to waste money. He didnt have anything bad to say about the food or the place. Coming here 5 years ago might have been a better experience. It looked cleaner. I wont eat here again.

Overall it seems as though the service declined. I was excited for BBQ and decided to get a drive through order. There was an older Hispanic female and younger Hispanic male who took and gave me my order (okra and ribs). I received my ribs but not the okra. I waited and the female employee comes back to the window and asked if I needed anything else and I told her I didnt get my okra. She said oh. Leaves and comes back to the window and asked if I needed anything else. I replied no just my okra. A young male employee came to the window a minute later and handed me a container. I took it and drove home (NO pre snacking). Opened everything (attached photos) to see I only got a pinch of okra and paid full price. It seems as though they were trying to avoid giving me my entire order and Im not sure if they didnt have enough or was rushing. Either way this was one of the more less satisfying experiences here because...well money paid for services and goods. I will say this - their turkey is the BEST (It wasnt included in this order). Its a 50/50 chance Ill recommend - depends on my next experience. Its advised to double check your order before arriving home. Also be mindful the portions may have gotten a bit smaller with the same or increased prices due to inflation so be prepared to spend a little more for less.

Went thru the drive thru and the gentleman at the window was great. Food was excellent. People had some reviews saying the meat was dry but I didnt have that issue. The pork and turkey was both moist and delicious. I loved their take on the pasta salad with peppers, very good.

The worst lunch experience ever. Ordered a chop beef sandwich combo and wanted a couple of ribs on the side. When he told me the price I was floored (he charged me for a whole order). As I was asking him about the price I observers the chef throw a big hunk of fat in sandwiche as big around as a coke can. When I spoke up the chef immediately started apologizing, he know that was not cool. So I asked for my money back, after several minutes of not being able to open the register, they gave me money from their wallet. Poor poor management. Have patronizing this establishment for 25yrs, cant say Ill be back.

After a terrible experience in the drive through where they gave me dry brisket on more than one occasion I decided to go inside to get something to eat before going to work. I was the only one in the entire restaurant so I figured it would take a couple of minutes at least for them to prepare my order. There were 3 cars in the drive through and 2 that pulled up while I was there. I paid for my food and attempted to find a clean table to eat at. There wasn t even one. 5 people were there but only 2 were actually working in between the times where they were so relaxed that they were playing around with each other. No masks, no hairnets, no gloves. I waited around 15-20mims until I just couldn t wait anymore. They served every drive thru customer and never got around to making mine. They gave me a refund and a sorry bout that and then they went back to conversing and playing with each other. $17 is a lot to pay for one meal when no one wants to make it or give customer service. I won t be going back to this location.

Ordered $50 of food thru Doordash and i can say is that the food is meh. Fries were soggy and had no salt. Ribs didnt fall of the bone and had barely meat in them, mind you, the ribs were $18, thats a Cheesecake Factory plate price. The food was meh. Their bbq sauce was too sweet. Toast was soggy, and ordered extra ribs and it just came wrapped in foil in a plastic bag, not even a plate. The restaurant also failed to send a drink.

I wasnt sure when we entered the restaurant if it was a daycare for employee family and their children or an eatery. The kids were running and screaming all through the restaurant , the staff were not wearing masks or gloves when they handled the food. The brisket was oven cooked, it never saw a smoker. It was very dry and sterile tasting, the french fries were covered in sugar. I would never recommend this place to anyone. The tables were filthy and when the busboy did come to bus the tables he used the same dirty rag on all of the tables with no sanitizer whatsoever. I would have preferred to rate this place with only a half of a star but the app does not allow this.

I ordered the chopped brisket plate and the brisket was dry and the end of the brisket was hard so I was chewing hard burnt brisket. Oh no! I almost got my money back but I felt they needed the business due to the fact I was the only one in there. Unfortunately I ate the sides and threw away the brisket.

Always a treat to eat here.The dining room is open, and clean, and the atmosphere is quiet, and gives off a nostalgic vibe. The food is great, and the associates are always courteous, and friendly. They make us feel like family everytime we visit. Nice portions of BBQ, and a nice variety of meat plates, sandwiches, and sides. And, if you happen to be a fan of the fried pies like Grandma used to make when you were a kid, then this is the place you need to be. They feature huge fried pies from the original fried pie shop. Soft and delicious, and a good selection of fruit flavors, and you can wash it all down with the sweet tea. They are open for takeout, and free delivery within 5 miles of their restaurant. We order from this location at least once a week and we have always been very satisfied with everything that we have eaten. Yesterday I ordered two of the Baker s potato which is a large baked potato filled with your choice of meat, in this case I ordered one for my son with brisket. Needless to say half of a potato on the bottom was rotten. My son has special needs so he didn t understand why I did not let him eat the entire potato like he normally does. You can clearly see in the picture how the potato was rotten and black. I don t think I ll be ordering a baker potato for a long time. All of our other options were delicious with the exception of one side that we paid for and did not receive. I will be going back today to pick up that side to have with lunch today.
