Reposting as the manager had it removed because he is a controlling freak We really used to love this place but not sure what happened to it (change of owner or chef or struggling financially) .got the lamb seekh kebab ($23!!!) which was dry and missing any real flavor, garlic naans (2x$4)which must have been plain naan as we couldn t see or taste any garlic . Then the butter chicken (18$)which must have had the chicken rationed and the sauce was anemic but at least flavor was decent. All that for $53 . Not worth it at all .. spend a large number of years traveling all over India and tasting the food and this used to remind me of it but not anymore . So sad !!! Remember feedback is a gift take it but don t attack or try and ridicule the person who gave it to you . Lets see if your reply here is accepting or attacking.... Last time you attacked me like you do with 95% of the people who complain on here.

We just drove 45 minutes to come and enjoy the delicious food at this restaurant. It was worth the drive. We ordered several different items and everything was delicious. We also ordered food to take home for dinner. I have to recommend the Chicken Biryani,Chicken Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken, Chicken Kabab, Chicken 65.

The food is excellent, no doubt about it. Presentation? On point. Taste and quality? Fantastic. But seriously, what s up with those ugly spoons? You can get decent ones at IKEA or Marshall s for cheap no excuse to keep using those eyesores. And let s talk about the water. It s got this weird, rotten smell, like it s been filtered through a damp rag. Maybe the towels you re using to wipe the glasses are leaving that smell behind, but it s downright gross when you drink it. If you re using tap water, stop. Costco sells six-gallon packs for a buck each. Stock up and serve fresh, clean water without the nasty smell. And what s the point of having amazing food if the water tastes off or your utensils and glasses reek of damp towels? Oh, and that ceiling storage situation? Hide it with some IKEA curtains or a space divider no one wants to look at that clutter while eating. A fancy restaurant with great food but an ugly mess of a view? Come on. The fans are so high up that they barely cool anything in the summer. Either lower the temperature or bring those fans down. There s a lot to improve, especially when your food is this good. Start with the water you serve and the overall hygiene customers will appreciate it.

I would not recommend this to anyone expecting a wonderful ambience inside. I found the dinning area to be dark and depressing. Talking about the food, I found everything pretty okay however if youre looking specifically for fresh butter naan (unlike the baked ones in the entire US), this place serves it and is really good. Quantity is smaller than usual so thats something to keep in mind while ordering

So I just ate there and the food was good. I was literally the only person there and the server stared at me the whole time I was eating. It made me very uncomfortable. Then when he brought back the check w my credit card, he stood there - like to watch me put the tip. I told him to leave. They remodeled recently and honestly I liked it better before. Prices went up I think. Like I said, the food was good, but being stared down the entire time made me so uncomfortable.

What could go wrong in a long-awaited family lunch? If it is DHAMAKA restaurant (formally KING restaurant): ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING. From the get-go everything is WRONG with this restaurant. Below are few to get a feel for our ordeal. 1. They brought wrong dish to our table. 2. They have served a Paneer Biryani (for a vegetarian person) with an Egg in it. 3. They served a chicken sizzler so SALTY that we could not eat, so we returned it. 4. We have ordered all the food with spice level as MILD, but the food was so SPICY that we all started sweating. 5. Not to mention that the service was so slow that we had to wait an hour for the food to be served. For everything: Their short answer was OUR APOLOGIES. Finally, after this horrible experience we wanted to leave as soon as possible and not to return ever to this pathetic restaurant. They served the bill and we have paid for it. And then we realized they have sneakily added the SALTY sizzler that we have returned. When we asked, their response was WELL WE HAVE GIVEN YOU THE BILL, YOU SHOULD HAVE REVIEWED IT BEFORE PAYING, NOW WE CAN NOT DO ANYTHING . When we requested to talk to a manager, the response was IT IS PAST 3 PM, WE ARE CLOSED, YOU HAVE TO COME BACK AFTER 5 PM , While all the happening, the manager was right in the next room, when we insisted to talk, she came out and instead of handling the situation, she was EXTREMELY RUDE. She repeated the same thing WE ARE CLOSED, THERE IS NOTHING WE CAN DO, CALL US ON THE PHONE OR COME AFTER 5 PM . -------------------------------------------------------- After about 2 weeks, The restaurant responded to my review. The points that stand out in their response were 1. our staff went out of their way to replace every dish that you or your party werent satisfied with 2. Both you and your party have left with carry-out boxes packing all the leftovers ---------------------------------------------------------- My Response. 1. As mentioned in the first review, There was only ONE dish that we returned as it was way too salty. so, please dont say you replace EVERY dish. 2. This is a utter lie, as a matter of fact we have explicitly told that we dont need any carry-out boxes as the food was way too spicy and there is not point in carrying-out. By the way, I wonder how conveniently the restaurant missed to respond to the point WELL, WE HAVE GIVEN YOU THE BILL, YOU SHOULD HAVE REVIEWED IT BEFORE PAYING, NOW WE CAN NOT DO ANYTHING

Food is great! Service sucks! It s no longer called King but Dhamaka. A group of 5 we were seated on a small table, the new chairs are really uncomfortable, when asked if we could change the chair, the request was denied. Appetizer came after the dinner was over and we were all done. When we inquired as to what happened to our appetizer, we were told the tandoor was too busy. There were only two other families besides us! When we asked if we could talk to the manager, he was a no show. This is really sad as the food was great but the dine in experience was bad.

Had one of the worst dining experience of my life. Food was not bad but service was just awful . We were there for celebrating couple of our friends birthday - first , they did not allow us to take cake inside citing it to be outside food , even though we tried explaining that we will not have it inside just will cut it there . Secondly , we requested them to at least keep the cake inside their refrigerator so that it does not go bad - to this initially they agree and then they cane abd returned it to us saying they cannot do that either . Thirdly, we ordered drinks and told them to not to add ice - but the drink was served with ice - on confronting them - they claimed by the team no ice was informed -- the drinks were already prepared - which was an utter lie . Fourthly , we wanted to talk to the supervisor to complain about the bad service we received - to this the staff told us that they do not know who the supervisor is- which is absolutely ridiculous . Fifth , we wanted to split the bill and asked them to have it split in multiple cards to which they said they can only split to a max of 2 cards - I mean really ! There are many more such instances which annoyed us to an extent that we left the place after having g the appetizer . All I can say is seemed like a bunch of incompetent , argumentative people are running the business who absolutely have no knowledge of service and hospitality . Utter disappointment and will never visit again.

Brilliant service by him and his team. Food was mostly either too oily, lukewarm or low on taste. Some items like the Goat curry and Naan bread were okay but we couldnt eat anything else. Everything else was passable, definitely not something you pay so much for. Then they added a sneaky 22% gratuity charge that they mandatorily took. If you want to force gratuity you mention it at the door or in the beginning. Else its called thuggery. Sorry about the word but we are not returning to the place until they change this policy and make better food. Not a hope with the current management.

Food is not authentic Punjabi we used to had. 2. Once you order it takes 1 hour to get food. 3. When we ask for 1/2 soup they said not allow. We said ok and ask to bring soup but give extra bowl or cup something. They said their policy not allowed to give any extra bowl or cup. I was thinking where is courtesy ? 4. When we ask for papad they say they out of it and next thing I saw they were giving someone else. 5. When we told them we are waiting from 1 hour person said you were here from 30 min only and after they apologized but they need more staff and management here Overall management and food goes from high/ 5 to down/1 . So think before you go if you are looking for test and service before you used to then this place is no more like before at all.

Also the restaurant is charging way more than their competitors and sadly even after paying that amount you don t get the desired quality and quantity. The tandoori roti they served was literally rock solid They are certainly overpriced. Also, it took them around 45-50 minutes for just serving the food we ordered. It got served at 9:58 pm and they told us that you have just 5 minutes if you want to order something else!! I mean how is it even practical? We can understand if they don t take any new dine ins after 10:00 pm but the ones who are already in there should be served appropriately. Conclusion: WORST SERVICE! FOOD NOT SO COMMENDABLE! Worst place to eat Indian food. New management . Very very long wait. Short on staff , short on chefs . Too much pricey for zero service. 2 Kakab , 2 lollypop, one chicken tikka , one biryani and 4 naan costed $140. Automatic 15 % gratuity for everyone. 18 % Gratuity for table above 5. Two appetizers never come out the kitchen even after 1.5 hour wait . Andhra Goat curry made up with malai and sweet sauce. Goat curry was so bad I had to return it . We had ordered 4 Naan . Every naan comes after 10 minutes of interval. Imagine 3-4 table experiencing same and arguing with manager. I literally feel sorry for waiters since they were facing all the issues . While talking to our table waitrers I asked him where is owner . He said owner usually don t come in busy hours. That itself tells the story. Owner don t give a damn about it and completely ignorant of his own team . Other team is doning best they can do. Zero ownership. Never going back . Don t waste your money.

Horrible horrible horrible experience.. service is a foreign word.. the restaurant seems understaffed, unknowledgable staff, owner seem totally disconnected. Priced like a high end restaurant and service like a hole in the wall. First they got the order wrong, then waiting on the correct dish the other dishes got cold. .. I then made a mistake of ordering extra Nan s .. 20 mins later and tracking the waiter down 4 times .. no nans and I was told it s because we put in a new order not a single apology .. infact I was made to feel it was my fault for putting in a another order of nan. I had to track the waiter down 3 times before we got water glass refilled when the bill came was shocked to see few slices of onions and 2 slices of pepper was $4.99 - through my work travels I have visited many Indian restaurants across many states and countries.. I have to say this restaurant ranks lowest of the low. I will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone.. there are other better options ..google nearby Indian restaurants.

Not sure if they were understaffed or just had an unknowledgeable staff. When we got there they were not busy but still took a while to get service. They brought food to our table that was not our order but they could not tell us what dish was what. When we ordered more naans they took 20 mins to come and that was only after reminding them a couple times. When we said something one of the staff members started arguing saying do you see how busy we are like it was our fault and we re unconvincing them by having to serve us more naans. The food was actually decent which is sad for this place because customer service is what makes a restaurant. Very disappointed and we drove over 30 mins to try it out! Appearances can be deceiving. The facade of this restaurant is pretty grand. But the inside is a let down. The food itself is quite good. The menu has a good choice of vegetarian and non veg items. However it is pretty standard Indian fare. There is nothing unique or special on the menu at this place. Service slows down when the restaurant gets crowded because of limited staff. The place also lacks a bar. It is BYOB. The place has potential to be much more.

we recently visited on friday evening, restaurant seating capacity was half filled/half empty. we ordered the starters and food all together at once at 7.45pm. received Gobhi Manchurain(nothing like manchurain just fried cauliflower with ton of oil) at 8.30 pm after 45 minutes. we asked politely that how much more wait time for main course, they said 10 more minutes. At 9.10 pm(after almost 90 mins) we were told that they dont know how much more time ot will take, it could be more 30 mins. (mind that 75 minutes were already passed) just bcos we order 2 Naans. Owner lady and her daugter works at the front, super rude and walks away when you are asking the question and dont bother to answer. we left the store without food at 9.30 pm, and there is pretty much no more option, as other indian restaurants are closed by that time. my little boy peft hungry without the food. These people should be shamed of themselves. There is Huge brown color vent in restaurant dinning area which is super dusty, seems that it has not been cleaned from many months. seems that owner/ management has changed and new Name is Dhamakasomething. Definitely will never visit again. Food = 1/5 waiting time = 0/5 (90++ mins, no main course even though small order) attitude, customer sevice, accountability=0/5

I have visited this restaurant one time. Interior of this restaurant looks great. Restaurant looks really cleaned and standard. Furnitures used in this restaurant are artistic. There was outdoor swing which was aesthetically appealing.Because of its better quality in everything. Price of food is little higher than other restaurant. Which is reasonable. I highly recommend everyone to visit this restaurant to have a different and amazing experience.

Not even deserved single star in anything! Beware of hidden charges at Dhamaka! Make sure to double-check the menu prices before paying, as we were overcharged. The 22% service charge seemed excessive and is not standard for any restaurant. The food quality was subpar, and the server made mistakes with our order. We initially visited when it was King Restaurant, but the recent change to Dhamaka didnt live up to its name. Disappointed with the overall experience, and the rude attitude from the owners brother and sister only added to the frustration. Proceed with caution!

Ordered food via online app. When I arrived they told me that the site was taken down or not open for orders that night, however my card was charged. The host leaves to go fix the situation but instead helps another guest and forgets to put the order in. So 10minutes later he tells me the same thing and says he ll put the order in for me. I was unable to wait an additional 20min (which would be close to an hour past my online pickup time) and so I requested a refund instead. I was assured it would be processed but a week later I still am awaiting my refund of $30 and no one is answering when I call.

I am sure some random person is cooking because the worst chef will cook better than what this restaurant serves. 1. Many items were not available. Had to choose from limited items. 2. Chole Bhature was disaster, Bhature was thick and soaked in oil and chole has no taste except salt. ( $17 Seriously!!!) 3. Veg Jalfrazi = It was Aloo tamatar (potato tomato and peas, Cant believe I paid 15$ for this), I am sure who ever cooked, does not even know what jalfrazi is. 4. Shahi panner = ok ok 5. Naan - thick, burnt, hard. 6. This waste food was so expensive. Not visiting this place again, even when food is free.

Nestled in the Adriatica neighborhood, the restaurant is located at the corner boasting 2 giant elephant statues and a grand Jhula! As you walk in, they have an open seating area and a beautiful outdoor space. You are welcomed by the friendly staff, and amazing Royal pictures/portraits on the wall. It makes you feel like you re in a palace of sorts! The menu was vast, with many options (veg and non-veg) We enjoyed the chola kulcha and butter chicken with mango lassi! PSA TO ALL NON-INDIANS, please do not base you opinion of Indian cuisine on this place. This place is an absolute disgrace to the Indian community. The greatest disappointment, amongst a very long list of disappointments, was the food. Every single dish tasted as if it was purchased from the frozen section of Patel Brothers and cooked in the microwave. The Chicken Tikka Masala tasted like repurposed Penne sauce. The Shrimp Pakora tasted like they ordered it from Popeyes. The waiter had AirPods in his ears - it felt like I was talking to a person with a faulty hearing aid. I was sad to see the quality of this restaurant diminish - it once had actual cooks in the kitchen who knew what they were doing.

This is my first time leaving a review for a restaurant. I saw an article today that said the food was good at this restaurant so we decided to give it a try. Got there right at 6:00. There was one table that was occupied. I went to order butter chicken for my husband and I. It was listed on the menu for almost $16. I asked if it included rice. It did not. Rice was an additional $4. I was shocked that rice wasn t included. I ordered two butter chicken dishes and two sides of rice. Total was $43. I got home and was shocked how small the butter chicken dish was. I opened it up and there was barely any chicken in the container with tons of sauce. I took the chicken out and there were 11 small cubes of chicken and that was it. It was barely enough for a child s plate, much less an adult entree. I called the restaurant to see if this was their normal portion size and was told it was. Needless to say, I won t be going back. Not worth my money for such tiny portions and the food itself wasn t that great.

I recently visited Kings Restaurant in McKinney with my friends. We ordered aloo tikki chat, paapa chat, malai kofta, panner Karahi, and garlic nan. The chat items were absolutely outstanding and packed with flavor. I was particularly impressed by the presentation of the chat items. While I wouldnt highly recommend the malai kofta, the gravy was still very flavorful. The panner karahi stood out with its unique and delicious taste. The restaurant itself is quite spacious, with tall ceilings that set it apart from others. The outdoor seating area with the jula and elephant decorations added a charming touch. Overall, it was a great dining experience!
