When I did not think I had any hope, as the DAs of Collin County are very hard core, I got my family and my life back! My job and my career were on the line. I can t say enough bout Kent s work he put in for me. At first he was court appointed to me in 2017 and did a great job. So In 2021 I had caught my 3rd dwi and had already been to Tdc 3x. So they hit me with another 25-99 big habitual. I was worried like hell. Kent reassured me that I was in good hands. Being a lawyer, Kent was incredibly unique to work with. He interacted with me directly, not through his office. He was very responsive when I would send him text messages or emails inquiring about the status of my case as well as other relative items as this was both a law related case and administrative case with the state. We contacted Starr law in June of 2022 after my brother was failed by his court appointed lawyer. Our family was drug through the dirt over a crime that was never committed, He was accused of a felony charge and was facing up to 99 years in prison. Kent was absolutely what I needed in a lawyer. Very straight to the point and honest about the situation and any requests I made were fulfilled. He brought my felony controlled substance penalty 2 to a misdemeanor and my DWI > .15 to just a regular first time one. I was arrested for a DWI in Collin CO. Generally this would sentence me to up to 24 months of probation and thousands of dollars in fines, but Kent got my conviction deferred and 15 months probation. I was facing 10yrs TDC for 3 felony drug charges. I hired at 1st the Scott edgett law firm in Plano, which they took 15k! to retain my case and get this they went along and took the person I got arrested with to get hired by them too! which he paid probably 20k went to court and gave me a deal of 5Yrs TDC. which I definitely will not take. because, I have 3 kids and a wife out here that needs me. I fired them immediately! Asked for a partial refund, they all of a sudden changed it to charge me by the hour. I lost on that but that s when I stumbled upon Mr Starr he immediately began working on my case and I swear to God! within a 2 days when we went up to the judge he already assured me that I wasn t going anywhere near TDC!!! I had 2 possessions drug charges all 2nd degrees felonies. and I had prior charges Mr Starr somehow got the same DA that was trying to give me 10yrs TDC no probation and got me 10 yrs on deferred probation. I cannot express how deeply I appreciate Mr Starr and his staff for their quick response. and solved my case and the price I paid was nowhere near the edgett law firm in Plano. If anyone facing any criminal charges I wouldn t go to nobody else. I promise I kno the system been thru it and you can just tell how hard he put his work in! made sure and gave me every single detail, even letting me read the emails between him and the DA. always answered whenever I had a questions, never held back very straight forward. got to a point where if we had to take it to Trail he will fight for me, and my freedom. The best attorney Collin county has for a county that highly frowns on drug and alcohol cases.. A professional man but he still has that small town simple man personality.
