I went with the family to celebrate my husbands birthday. The extremely rude waitress who was serving us made faces when we were ordering the drinks and of course I got up and told the manager to change my table because of the attitude. From her And then we had another waiter who, instead of speaking, almost shouted, until that day it was our favorite restaurant and of course he left a lot to be desired. They should train their staff well. Needless to say, we had a bad time, check this comment and do something. We tried It was good for my husbands birthday but it was a very bad experience.

This is the first time I have heard of and eaten at Saltgrass. Its a little more upscale than Longhorn. I had dinner here with a few coworkers. The atmosphere was great and we all enjoyed our meal. For appetizers, we had fried mushrooms and fried onions. Again, I chose my usual grilled salmon, sweet potato, and a side salad. If ever in the area again, I would come back! It was all good!!

They make me feel like their most special guest, their pats ribeye is my absolute favorite, they did get rid of the bacon wrapped shrimp, but i won t hold it against them they always make fried zucchini for me when i decide to order dine in or to go. AND THE CARROT CAKE TO DIE FOR, baked daily to keep them as fresh as can be. They go above and beyond for me and my family 10/10 would recommend to anyone craving a good steak and one of the best services I ve had in the valley, very friendly and knowledgeable staff!

Best chicken tenders I ve ever had in my life! I ve been a Landry s member for years now and this place really knows how to treat its members. If you re not a member I highly recommend signing up! Vegetarian options: Available. Dietary restrictions: The menu said that they re amenable to people with dietary restrictions. Parking: Plenty of parking around the restaurant and on the back side. Kid-friendliness: Seems like a good area for kids. Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of ramps and space for wheelchairs to move around.

Typical Saltgrass Steak house but it was clean and service was quick to start. The Rattler appetizer was very good and flavorful. The Titos Ice Tea went down smoothly.....too smooth. Service was fairly well but the waiter was slow on getting requests i.e. water and checking up on the table but otherwise service was fine. The NY strip was delicious and was cooked to my request. Cesar salad was a typical restaurant salad nothing special there. Overall the experience was good. Definitely recommend for a nice steak night out visit.

Absolutely wonderful dinner experience. The fried mushrooms were perfect and prompt. I had the filet and shrimp and it was a nearly perfect meal. The baked potato was excellent and the shrimp was fresh and grilled to perfection. The only issue was the steak being slightly overcooked, but the flavor was great anyway. Our server was friendly, fast and a delightful person overall. I highly recommend this location.

I try to order something different every time and every time the food is DELICIOUS!!! My most favorites are the wagyu steak, filet mignon trio, BBQ ribs, queso frisco with brisket and their carrot cake is like the best homemade!! All of the staff are great, but Innocente is the very BEST server!

I Went for dinner with my coworkers, for appetizers we ordered the Cheese Fries they were delicious we also ordered the Queso fresco with brisket that was ok nothing special. I ordered the 12 oz. Pats ribeye. It was cooked perfectly, to my liking. Tortilla Soup wasnt my favorite because it tasted like wild rice instead of tortilla soup.

I ve been to this location various times. Overall my experience has been okay. Wouldn t say I feel like I m dining in a fine restaurant when I see my server Kat sucking on a lollipop across the dining room. Shows a lot about management. It s been a well handful of times that my order doesn t come out right I ve ordered the chop steak before that s supposed to come with cheese, tomatoes, on top & they brought my steak simple, dry, with sautéed mushrooms on side which is far from what I ordered. When I mentioned to the server about it, she just brought me the shredded cheese and tomatoes on side which is not nearly the same as having the cheese semi melted on top already. That s just one of the several experiences I ve had there. Somehow I keep going back, because I do hope they ll be better next time. Can t hurt to try again, right?

This is the New Applebees. That what came to mind after eating here. Asked for a Caesar salad, instead i got what it looked like chefs salad minus the ham. My salad had cheddar cheese instead of parmesan. Asked for dressing on the side and instead it was on the bottom half of salad bowl.Range rattlers were alright. Didnt taste the cilantro though. Ranch was salty. Chicken fried steak was not it. Soft texture but breading had no flavor whatsoever.. Country gravy was bland and peppery. Who puts fresh cracked pepper as a garnish on gravy? First time here from AZ. We were celebrating our anniversary & decided on this place for dinner, saw it had great reviews and boy it didnt disappoint! Food, service and total atmosphere was excellent! My only thing was that i ordered my steak medium & i got well done, upon mentioning it to our amazing waitress Yesenia, she apparently told the manager ( wasnt looking for it to be replaced or fork the bill, steak still was good) but Daniel (manager) came out politely introduced himself and offered to replace our steak. I told him it wasnt necessary but he did. To my surprise when the steak came out in the plate it was the whole meal. He said it was customary for the business to keep their customers happy. So yeah I was happy! Thank you Saltgrass in McAllen, TX for making our anniversary great!

So it was my sisters bday today and she decided she wanted to go anywhere she could eat ribs and shrimp. No one else in our family had gone to Saltgrass so we decided to try it. As soon as we got there, they told us there was no high chairs and they would let us know as soon as one was available, they never took it.... Then we placed our order, the waiter comes back and tells my sister that they ran out of ribs and shrimp, it was 1:30pm and they opened at 11am... we ate and everything was going good, i ordered a cake to sing happy birthday and we asked the waiter for the checks(party of 13). While we were waiting for the cake and the checks a manager came to our table and asked if we were almost leaving, I just looked at him like whaaat. I said we are waiting for the cake a the checks, he said its because its already been the 2hr limitation or something like that. No restaurant had ever done that to us, I have never heard of a limitation of 2hrs that u can be there. We thought maybe they are packed up front, but when we got out there was just a party of 4 and a lot of empty tables. Food was ok by the way, I prefer cheddars, but it wasnt my choice. I would never go back to Saltgrass. And our waiter was good, he was not the problem. Kid-friendliness: Not enough high chairs... my 1 yr old had to sit in a regular chair.

I had dinner here with a large group of veterans, which can quickly become hectic. All the entrees ordered were great and had plenty of flavor. My steak was perfectly cooked and the flavor was outstanding. I didnt get the servers names but they were awesome and kept checking on us. To end the night we had an assortment of desserts. My favorite was the carrot cake, but others raved about the cheesecake and chocolate cake. I will definitely be back.

My family and I came from Brownsville to enjoy some steaks. I highly recommend the Brisket Queso dip to start off with. The Cajun Steak with Shrimp and crabmeat is amazing. Ask for luis or Alex as your waiter. Great Customer service from both of them. They made sure we had the best service. My recent visit to Saltgrass Steakhouse was a mix of pleasant surprises and disappointing moments. Arriving at the not-so-busy time of 3:30 pm on a Saturday, the restaurant was less than half full, which set an expectation for quick and attentive service given the visible abundance of waitstaff preparing for the dinner rush. The immediate seating was a welcome start, signaling a potentially smooth dining experience. However, the restaurants temperature was uncomfortably cold, presumably due to an overly enthusiastic air conditioning system. This minor discomfort soon became a recurring theme affecting not just the ambiance but also the dining experience directly. Our waitress, while promptly arriving to take our order, embodied the awkwardness Ive come to notice at this location. Service missteps, such as forgetting straws and needing multiple reminders for simple requests, hinted at a lack of attentiveness or perhaps training. Service speed also left much to be desired, as tasks seemed to take longer than one would expect in a less-than-busy setting. The culinary experience further mirrored this inconsistency. The decision to butterfly a medium-well filet mignon without consultation was perplexing and unfortunately resulted in an undercooked meal. Additionally, the chilled environment hastened the cooling of our dishes, detracting from their enjoyment. A glaring issue was the lack of follow-up service. Our waitresss absence post-serving, especially to check on our satisfaction or even when refilling drinks, felt neglectful. The missed opportunity to correct or address our concerns, such as the forgotten condiments requested from another staff member, compounded the feeling of neglect. Observing our waitress struggle to manage merely four tables raised questions about either her capacity or the establishments operational efficiency. This observation was hard to reconcile with the otherwise buzzing activity of the staff preparing for the evening. In conclusion, while Saltgrass Steakhouse offers the promise of a delightful dining experience with its quick seating and potentially great food, the execution falls short in service and attention to detail. The ambient temperature, service lapses, and food preparation issues suggest a need for management to reassess both the staff training program and the restaurants environment control settings.

It was just okay. I guess I had too high of expectations but considering the prices none of the food seemed worth it. I prefer other steak houses. Also seems understaffed as the waiter kept forgetting things we asked for and also took a long time to get us the check. Overall it wasnt bad but I wouldnt go here again over other places.

Started the evening with Especial Margarita. It was not too strong and nice flavor. I ordered the steak and shrimp meal. Steak was perfectly cooked also great flavor. We ended the night with the carrot cake. Our server highly recommended. He was spot on. The carrot cake is large and could probably feed three people. Server was delightful and friendly. He made the evening enjoyable. Overall, great food, great drinks ka and great service.

We have eaten with a small group at Saltgrass on Christmas day for the last 3 years. It has been excellent, especially 2023. The food was excellent the server Mercedes and the service as a whole were phenomenal. We will definitely be there next Christmas Day!

Music was very loud. Could not hear the waitress talk. The dining room was very cold. I shouldnt have to wear my jacket while dining. My steak was rare and I ordered it medium. Not a good experience.

Wish I could give half star reviews. The service felt rushed, even though there was plenty of seating. There was a few very small issues with our food. One being the toppings on our steak werent correct. Of course, the order wasnt remade, they just swapped toppings in less than two minutes. One of my sides, Mac and cheese, was pretty much cold. My drink was incorrect, but close enough so I didnt say anything. Other than that the steak itself was just alright, though it was properly cooked. Overall Id say its hard to justify the price, given the quality of the food and the service. One time experience, never again.
