One of the best places to eat around here tbh. Lagunas food is better quality and better portions than other seafood places in this price range. Very few non seafood items on the menu fyi but still the ribeye and chicken quesadillas are delicious too. Drinks are excellent and look just like they do in the pictures on the menu. Staff is always great and attentive.

Food is delicious but damn the service was bad. I wish I got the ladys name but she had red hair, age close to 50. She will be talking with other employees by the front door, I always had to wave at her for service. Suddenly she disappeared and we just went to the front to pay. I still left a tip but as Im writing this now, I regret it.

First time here and Im gonna be coming back at least once a month! The service was great. The prices so reasonable. No wait time. The food was super fresh. The portions were gigantic. I ordered the filete y camarones with double rice and got a huge playe with 2 filetes and 3 or 4 colossal shrimps! My husband ordered the chicken milanesa with fries and rice and got a playe with 3 crispy thin and delicious milanesas! My mom got the Torre de Mariscos and it was super fresh, no imitation crab. Bill was only $74! Yall must try this place. I wish I had tipped the server more. But I definitely will this weekend.

The first time I went with my wife and my sister, they asked me for a small plate of seafood broth, and I was angry because it was not enough. I ordered an octopus/shrimp campechana. First half was good until I found a piece of paper inside the cup, showed it to one of the servers, my server was very apologetic. She then offered me to get me something else; I asked her to get me another cocktail with the same amount of food my original cocktail had left, so she brought it in to find out after the second scoop a piece of octopus had a terrible taste. I stopped eating and reported this to her. She was going to speak with the manager who never showed up. At the end my server only charged me for the drink; I asked her to charge me for my food but she declined, I left her a good tip (35% of what was supposed to be the total). I am a frequent client at Mariscos La Laguna everywhere I go, but never had an experience like this. So this particular location is off my list now. Hope I don t get sick, if I do, I will make sure the owner who lives in SA is aware.

Title: Disappointing Experience at La Laguna on My Mothers Birthday My family and I recently dined at La Laguna to celebrate my mothers birthday, and I regret to say that our experience was nothing short of disappointing. I ordered the Tacos Ensenada, and when they finally arrived, the tortilla was cold, and the shrimp still had its shell on - a clear indicator of poor attention to detail. When we tried to address our concerns with a server, he blatantly brushed me off in the middle of my speaking, showing complete disregard for me and my family. After a while, we managed to get a managers attention, but they were of no help either. They offered no solutions other than to continue waiting for our food, which had already taken an incredibly long time to arrive, or to leave and pay for what we had consumed. To make matters worse, the drinks and appetizer alone amounted to a staggering $100. It felt like a scam. We even mentioned to the manager that we were celebrating my mothers birthday, but they still did not compensate us for our terrible experience. Considering the hefty price tag of $17 for tacos, we expected good service to accompany the meal. The manager did not offer any discount or compensation. I would strongly advise against dining at La Laguna unless youre willing to risk an unsatisfactory experience and deal with unhelpful staff. Super disorganized, the Host was all over the place. As people where coming in, they where all crowded in the entrance not being able to sign in to get a table because there where people going out and people waiting. ( There were table available.) On the last visit in MARCH, I think the demand was very good, they started well, but there is already bad service, dishes made in a hurry, for example if you order an Octopus Toast, they give it to you, the pieces of octopus and an attempt at pico de gallo, and the parking is now smaller, in addition to the odyssey of avoiding crashing with the cars going for a coffee at Starbucks, oh and now no live music. Absolutely wonderful staff! Our waitress did not speak English but, contrary to other reviewers experience, she was extremely attentive and able to understand us and do her job. I did however manage to confuse the staff by asking for a sushi roll with only avocado, rice, and seaweed. It was pretty fun feeling like the only vegetarian in McAllen and, after understanding what I was asking, the staff was very accommodating albeit curious. The starter salsas, pepper sauce that comes with the sushi, and everyones meal tasted and looked great. A friendly place to stop by
