Me and my wife traveled here from Rendon, a little town outside of fort Worth. Over a 3 hour drive and left me say I was quite impressed with all they had done with the place. Very rustic but homey. And a lot of work. The menu was thought out well. It went perfectly with the atmosphere and all the flavors were on point. So two out of three so far. Now for the 3rd. The staff. We were served by Kira and Adriana. Not only were they nice and helpful they took the time to come sit and talk to us. Very kind and polite. I even finished my banana pudding after closing. And was never rushed. So 3 out of three. With great atmosphere, great food, and a really great staff this place will be there for many years to come. Sorry it took me a couple days to post this but I promised you a review. I hope you like it. I hope we can come back again one day.

*Update it s been a couple months since I ve last been here. First impression is everything. With that being said the hostess is very rude. We came in and she breezed by asking as she went by has everyone been helped? . I had to flag her down to say 2 please & she seemed offended. Yeah I was already peeved having stood there being ignored. Secondly, after the 4th party comes in to join the wait it is announced that we are all free to eat elsewhere since there are only 2 cooks in the kitchen and the kitchen was running behind. The food the coffee was lacking. The bacon is still good. Sausage was cold but tasty. Hashbrowns are good. Pancakes are ok. I m very pleased there are more brunch options in the area because I m not too sure decent food could is enough to is going to make up for the lack of friendliness from the hostesses, the lack of kitchen staff and the lack of decent coffee. It seems better management is needed. First time at The Treehouse Cafe and found it to be super cute. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We got the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes & fried okra and the Magnolia Breakfast (scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, 2 bacon strips, 1 sausage patty & a waffle). Everything was good but omg the waffle was perfect. On a side note I had seen a waitress give some very cute young kids a small bucket of lettuce to feed the turtles outside. That was a nice thing to do for the kids. We ll definitely be back.

Food wasnt horrible but honestly would rather had Waffle house, there you know all food is cooked fresh to order. Bacon was like eating beef jerky, wasnt fresh. Sausage gravy would have been better if they browned up raw Sausage instead of using sausage like they do on pizzas. But if was nice to not have to cook my breakfast. Just little touches can make foods taste alot better. The place has a homecook vibe to it. But after getting food it felt more commercialized.

The waitresses had horrible attitudes to the point you couldnt communicate with them because they rudely responded with a horrible attitude rolling there eyes. And to top it off the food was HORRIBLE not even cooked all the way. So please make sure NOT to stop by this establishment & waste your time, YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!

The waitress asked us if everything was alright I had to say yes because I vas very hungry we drove an hour to get there so like I said we were really hungry to send the food back. But service was great I believe the name of the waitress was Leah. She went above and beyond.

Phenomenal place! Love the Halloween vibe. BEST BURGER of my life, the Magnolia burger! I come for that cheese skirt and to see Leighsa ONCE A WEEK! Leighsa and all the servers are phenomenal! Also, love feeding the tortoises outside! My ONLY hiccup is the place is SO incredibly hot inside, it s uncomfortable. I brought my friend last week and her baby & they had to leave it was too humid the baby was restless; I don t know how the servers and cooks can handle it. They have a wall unit, but it s hot hot! Would give 5 stars if wasn t for the temp inside!

Oh my god! Found this hidden gem today! Drove about 40 mins to come check out the tortoises and have a great home cooked meal for lunch. The Tree House Cafe did not disappoint!!! The restaurant was very busy when we arrived but the waitress let us know there would be about a 30 min wait to be seated and a bit longer wait for our food since they re busy on the weekends for their small kitchen. Completely understandable in my opinion (esp for a Sunday with church getting out and larger groups coming in). Once we got our meal we were shocked at how much it hit the spot. Haven t had a good home cooked burger like that in way too long. Highly recommend everyone to try them out. Even with the wait it goes by quick getting to check out the turtles and fun atmosphere th restaurant provides. It s a one of a kind spot. We will be back with our family and friends next weekend!

We were so excited to try this place. We came from Cypress because my husband and brother have been wanting to try it. We were disappointed as soon as we walked in the door. There were 8 of us (2 families) and they said there would be at least a 45 min wait for a table for 8. I told them we didn t mind being split up and asked if we could just do two tables. The young waitress with a high bun walking by rudely blurted no! without even looking at us. We were all surprised and caught off guard. The woman behind the counter also said she couldn t give us two tables, but then reluctantly told us we could. The rude, young waitress overheard and began shaking her head and kept walking past with an attitude. I saw her also looking at another employee shaking her head and rolling her eyes. We all were very uncomfortable at this point and decided to take our business elsewhere. This was a complete let-down as our families were so excited to try this restaurant. After reading recent reviews, it seems this is common at this restaurant. Because of this rude employee, we will not be back. Don t give this restaurant your business. They are rude & unwelcoming. I ve never been to a restaurant that didn t want business.

First and probably last time in. We, especially our kids, were so excited to try this place and even more excited once they saw the turtles. We sat outside until the bugs got to our toddler and then waited for a table inside. We were told we could sit in the booth by the window as the family with children already sitting there asked to be moved. We took it. Big mistake, DONT! There is a zombie out that window that terrified our young kids. Then, as were eating, a zombie head flies up and slams into the window right next to our faces. Talk about terrifying young children to the point that one family leaves the table and ours are terrified. Not to mention a family member who is a veteran with PTSD sitting there with us getting scared/spooked. THIS IS NOT OKAY. NOT THE SETTING TO HAVE SCARY ITEMS. We asked the waitress if that feature could be turned off and she said its a manual switch in the kitchen, Ill ask them to stop. So they just see a family sitting there with small children and do those types of things in the middle of lunch... During the summer... Not like we took them there at Halloween or anything. HOW INCONSIDERATE! What happens if someone sitting there chokes because of this or someone who has legitimate issues (like PTSD) or an anger problem sits there and this happens to them at lunch one day. THE TARGET OF YOUR PRANKS SHOULDNT BE YOUR PAYING CUSTOMERS... ESPECIALLY FAMILIES WITH YOUNG CHILDREN! That alone will keep us from returning. I truly hope the owners have no idea this is happening but read this and correct the behavior. Running customers off on purpose isnt funny. Scaring unknowing people isnt funny. Terrifying children isnt funny. And hopefully, losing business and terrifying people is the worst that comes from this, for their sake. The service was good. We did have to ask the other servers to fetch our server as we waited about 20 minutes with just menus and water but after that, we had excellent service. My food was ok. Nothing to write home about but I ate most of the sandwich. The fries were great. Neither of our kids would eat the burgers... And after a bite of it myself, I understand why. It tasted off... A bit weird.

The food here was not to my or families personal liking, however the style was home cooked meals which are generally heavy eating meals. I had chicken fried steak and they did nit have any knives available so I had to do my best with a single fork to eat it. I also had chili cheese fries and oakra which were both delicious. The chicken fried steak was good but a little tough for my liking. Pur server was awesome, very kind and open with explaining delays and issues. My wife and 2 kiddos ordered breakfast but they didnt wat much because the meal style simple was not what they like (home contry cooking). Overall good food and good experience. My kiddos loved the live turtles that were at the location.

Dont go. This restaurant is not prepared to properly handle the growth of Magnolia and additional patrons. As soon you go in theyll let you know the kitchen is backed up, as you look around to an half empty place. The people at tables outside are not even apart of the restaurant seating; theyre also waiting for seating inside. After a wait looking at the turtles on poorly kept grounds, you get seated in a booth with a table thats too far from the benches. You order your drinks; be advised no matter the age of the kids they will charge the adult price for the drinks, if you dont catch them. Youll order your food and then wait. Theyll come back in 15-20 mins and let you know the kitchen is backed up and the food will be out shortly and can they do anything for you. Youll have to tell them what drink you need a refill for because they wont offer. The very below average and bland food will eventually arrive that you will have to force yourself to eat because youre so hungry at this point. Then its time to ask for the bill which you will sit another 15-20 mins after theyve taken your half eaten plates because the waiters are so busy talking to each other they forget to come back to you, which makes sense why the wait is so long for a table; hint: not because theyre so good. Youll look at the bill and see they have nickel and dime you for every little thing. I ate with my 15, 5 & 3 year old. With two kids meals, theres no reason our meal is almost $70! The kids meal do not include a drink and its $8 already and they charged additional $3 for a waffle SUBSTITUTION when theres no meal that includes a waffle and its no mention of an up-charge for it with the kids meal. After pushing back and them sending 3 different people over to us they finally reduced the total bill about $5. Save yourself the trouble! Theres a brand new Toasted Yolk down 1488, that got it together. Supporting this local business will leave you feeling robbed and hungry!

First impression was that the place looked dirty. Ordered chicken fried steak and it was way overcooked and lacked any seasoning. Gravy lacked seasoning also. Had a side salad. It was served in a tiny bowl and it was loaded with red onions on top. No tomatoes? Table seemed sticky and the place smelled of pancake syrup. Would not recommend this place to anyone. I read several good reviews about this place. I guess the people of Magnolia don t know good food. Sad.

This is a place Id been curious about for years, and I finally was able to stop by. It is a treehouse in the middle of the woods (its actually quite close to parking), but with more of a southern small-town vibe. There are several tortoises on the way to the front door, but they are only for looking at. They did make the entire space wheelchair accessible, which is why Im giving two stars. The food, unfortunately, is not the star of the show. We had several items that seemed like freezer food that had been cooked in old grease. I will say that the French Toast was at least edible, so maybe their breakfast options are better. I do believe I heard the waitress say to someone that they serve the entire menu all day. Im sure for people who love this place, they are loyal. Id say save the drive unless youre in it for the tortoises. Wheelchair accessibility: The parking lot is a dirt lot, but they do have accessible parking spots marked. People still park very close, so it is almost pointless. The dining area and bathrooms are wheelchair accessible.

We ended up sitting in the beer garden on a 40 degree morning because they were a little busy but, still thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast. Our waitress was very attentive even though we were so far outside. The mimosas and food were great. Glad to have this breakfast spot down the road.

I went a few years ago and it was alright, but I guess they changed management. We went a few days after Christmas. Halloween decor is still up, the place is covered in dusty taxidermy animals. I ordered the egg and sausage crossaint sandwich and it was ok, not as good as the donut shop back home. A few things from my tables party had to go back: hashbrowns were cold, chocolate milk was mostly milk. The table next to us was smelling their food like something was wrong. I would not eat here again.

Unique setting, always wanted to come here but never got around to it until today. Hubby got a Bonfire burger I believe, he loved it. I got a shrimp po boy, it was okay. The shrimp didnt really have any flavor and overall the sandwich was too much to handle between my hands it was falling apart. Fries were pretty good though. Other than that Its a very chill atmosphere.

Food was good, nothing crazy but we ordered a burger and chicken salad on croissant and sweet potato fries. Kids enjoyed the chicken fingers. Our server was great, she was friendly and made the boys feel special offering them to pick their own colored straws. Also, we LOVED the turtles!

Such a homey small town vibe that came from this place. You walk in and are instantly greeted with a smile. Service was fairly quick, waitress was very polite, they pulled a little jump scare prank with one of the props from the window which was hilarious. The food is the only thing we had a problem with. Sausage was overcooked, pancakes werent cooked all the way, asked for scrambled hard but got a very runny scrambled soft, coffee wasnt amazing but it was fresh and hot. Id recommend going on your lunch break or if you just like the environment. But still worth trying out!

My clearly overcooked sweet potato fries were the best part of this meal. We used to go here quite often for a quick breakfast. My kids love the turtle place. We decided to stop in for dinner after seeing multiple posts from them saying how great their dinner is. This place is small. The menu is limited, but it was pretty consistent. Now this was a Friday night. Around 6:30. There was clearly a larger group outside in the tree house. Inside the restaurant was two other tables. No one outside. As we were seated directly in view of kitchen.....we had a clear understanding of what was going on. We ordered our food, knowing it might be a minute, I ordered cheese sticks to passify the hungry gremlins. After 20 min.....no cheese sticks. We watched the bewildered cook.....fumble around with ZERO sense of urgency. We asked our server about the cheesesticks....she said she would check on them. 29 minutes or cheese sticks came out. 48 minutes after ordering, our food came out. 1 grilled chicken sandwich. - not half a chicken breadt but 1/4.... tough as nails, on an unrelated toasted chiabatta bun (gross) , and burnt sweet potato fries. $12.99 by the way 1 wagon wheel (Patty burnt to a crisp about 2.5 inches in diameter) and more burnt fries 1 kids grilled cheese- $7.99 1 kids chicken tenders-$7.99 (Three nuggets and 7 French fries) And another order of cheese sticks he made by mistake. We ate our burnt fries. Paid our $50 bill and left. Yes, they were aware we were upset. We understood it was not our servers fault. The other server explained the only had two servers and two cooks, one who was completely incompetent.....and a big party. My irriration is WHERE was the manager? Where was the owner? If you know you have an incompetent cook, and short servers and you refuse to be there helping your staff....that is absolutely disgusting. As a former business owner I have had those nights and I was right there in the trenches with them. I will not be spending another dime here. I have a feeling Im not the only one. Stop being greedy. Help your staff. Stop jacking up insane menu prices just because you can. I get it...food costs are up....but 3 nuggets and 7 fries for $8????? No.
