Excellent lunch at Ajuua today. Very fast and friendly service. Had the enchiladas lunch special which was two beef enchiladas with green sauce, rice, and refried beans. Topped it off with two bacon wrapped shrimp and of course chips and salsa. Had a margarita to drink. Everything was very fresh and well prepared. Proper temperatures all around. Lunch special is only $7.99 and there was a lot of food in my opinion. Will definitely go again!

A small place but the food is really good I mean really good. The service was fantastic. Our waiter was definitely one of the nicest people ever. Bacon wrapped shrimp was really good and the rice was better than I expected. The Chile Verde plate was bomb. First time eating here, and it will be the last. The food is subpar, and the server was not hospitable. The refried beans were burnt. The charro beans were tasty. The salsa had no spice or flavor - bland and not hot. The server could not be bothered - very inattentive. With as many Mexican restaurants in Lubbock, this one is toward the bottom of the list. Came here because Las Palmas on 50th was closed due to Good Friday. Was not impressed and very let down. Their queso was that annoying TexMex yellow kind that taste like it was made in a dishwasher... chicken tasted like it came from a frozen Tyson package of chicken... Just really mad about the FAKE queso cheese. I should have just waited for Las Palmas to reopen... Bathrooms were great! And the hostess girl was very nice!!

Went on a Sunday afternoon at 12:30 for a friend on his birthday. We sat at the bar for over an hour waiting for our food. When food did arrive I already had to pack and leave I wasnt able to eat it because I ran out of time to eat. The manager came by saying the reason they were late with our order was because it was busy, even though there were people who came in after us and left before us. To the manager reading this right now I wasnt looking for an excuse just an apology. Needless to say Ill be sure to not recommend your business to others.

Was introduced to Ajuua by my son, who is a server there. We came from Abilene to visit him and wanted to see where he worked. The menu is expansive, from classic Mexican combos to T-Bones and lobster. Service was quick and the servers courteous. I look forward to returning.

Thursday nights margaritas are 2 bucks and they are delicious! We also had the sampler and it was delicious! The staff is very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is great and they have a huge TV screen at the bar to enjoy sports with your meal or drink.

The screen brought me in and the food was superb! But what will keep me coming back was the exceptional service by Ian Ian bent over backwards to facilitate us. As it was our first time eating here, he led us through the menu options thoroughly and diligently. I m looking at these reviews and I m so shocked! lol honestly, but me my husband, and daughter went here. the food was great! Our waitress was absolutely amazing! We went around 12 PM. They were super nice and got us sat down quickly and food was there fast at great quality. For 3 people we spent 50ish before the tip. So our experiences personally good, but looking at the reviews does make me scared to order again at the same time we loved our experience. Kid-friendliness: The kids menu has lots of options and my daughter ended up getting the hamburger with fries and absolutely loved it.

Where do I start. If youre Mexican and say Chile relleno you know what to expect, so we ordered beef and cheese chile relleno plate, and not even 5min later got a plate with two pre-cooked Anaheim peppers one with cheese other with nothing on top of some picadillo meat with papas ??? Long story short, the owner Alex was notified and came to us, and just looked at me, when I told him this is not what I ordered, this is not right, Alex literally looked at me and said thats how ours are... and said do you want to look at the menu? No apologies, nothing, took the plate, and immediately had the waitress give us our ticket and disappeared. We had two beers/$11.90 later... there was maybe a total of 6 people in there on a Friday evening...... goes to show why places dont last.

As a top 10% google reviewer I gotta say this food is horrible for the price... San antonio is a wayyyyy bigger city than lubbock and there are places in San antonio that are humble that serve a HUGE Molcajete with shrimp beef chicken and pork and nopales with a Chile relleno for 17$ and then u have Ajuuas thats selling a worse SMALLER molcajete with less meat its bland and expensive!!! Like no dont ever come waste ur money at this place its a total rip off and an insult to the Mexican community

***DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY*** (I went today 1/11/24 @7:20) I was highly disappointed with the food. I had Tacos Chihuahua . It was supposed to be steak, bacon, and chorizo. But it ended up tasting like Chicharrones in bean sauce...... The queso comes from a can you can buy from Dollar General, their beans are just a can of beanee weenies heated up. I asked two different staff members about the queso. Which I saw the exact cans of queso they had on the shelves. One claimed to not know if it was canned, the other lied to me and said it was made of Velveeta. I finish of my meal and paid FULL PRICE. This place isnt going to last unless they get everyone drunk first! I found their core ingredients at the store so you can make Ajuuas at home!

Horrible service. How can you completely mess up fajitas? Absolutely the worst flavor, meat was nothing but fat, veggies were basically raw with a sloppy scoop of guacamole for the set up. Flour tortillas were cold and dried out. Waitress was NEVER around. Had to flag her down each time. Lubbock has a variety amazing choices for Mexican food. This is NOT one of them.

I went there last night for the first time my boyfriend and I shared the combination fajitas. Couple hours after my boyfriend was throwing up and had diarrhea uncontrollably. This morning I woke up with the same symptoms only way worse I got so sick I had to be admitted to the hospital. After 5 hours they tell me I had severe food poisoning!! FYI: This is a Mexican sports bar, and it is very LOUD. As for the food, it was ok... not great. The menu is huge, and many things were marked off with a sharpie. We went at 7pm on a Sunday. I was really hungry for carnitas tacos, but they were out. I ordered the birria and they were very good but I had to ask for the jus that was supposed to come with. We ordered a shrimp cocktail to share, but there was not much shrimp, and only a small piece of avocado. That being said it was fresh and flovorful, and the juice was tasty. They ran out of sweet tea, so we didnt get refills. The rice was plain and not flavorful, but the beans were good except for the two huge pieces of soggy chicharon on top. I would have rather had the beans. The salsa was fresh and delicious, but the queso tasted like it came out of a can... we didnt finish it. The server was attentive and the staff friendly. I probably will not come again, as the competition for really good Mexican food is big in Lubbock. This restaurant didnt make the awesome list for me.

I m soo glad that my lunch group did not use previous ratings for our visit today Our service from Anna today was soo good and she really exceeded our expectations! She was very friendly, professional and prompt to take our order. Surprisingly it was quickly received. Chips and hot sauce was great and I had the #17 chili reno/and beef enchilada w/green sauce and rice & beans. Awesome!!!The manager also chkd with us for groups satisfaction. Who could ask for more. I have never read these reviews, but apparently if you do you can get an accurate overview of the product and services you may receive. I am sad to say the Beef Fajitas were ordered medium rare and I received beef jerky. The setup for the Fajitas look like scoop of guacamole for a toddler. My expectations were so high because I ate at the locations in Midland & Odessa and they are top notch! Well, I hate to say it, but people work hard for their money and this isnt worth the money it costs to eat there. Go to Plaza on Milwaukee, they have great service and food!

Ive passed by this place several times and never took notice when I used to live in Lubbock and was recently back visiting family and we wanted to eat somewhere on a busy holiday weekend and everything around was pretty well booked for hours and we came across this place and Im glad we did. Our family got seated quickly and the sever was very friendly and kept our drinks full and was very attentive. The food was really good and came out very quickly which was nice because some of us had a pretty strict timeline to follow, definitely would consider this place again on returning visits.

We got the floutas and the Gina s. The floutas were great! The sauce for the enchiladas was GOD AWFUL. It tastes like it was straight chili powder dumped into water but waaaay too much chili powered. Maybe I m biased, but I m from midland Odessa area where the original ajuuas are and it was my favorite restaurant. The Lubbock location just doesn t cut it. I really wish it was better I could ve ate the midland locations enchiladas every day that s how much I loved it. Update: the enchiladas made me very sick. I don t know what all these one star reviews are talking about. This is some of the best Mexican food in Lubbock. The service was great, fast, and the food was delicious. Their tortillas are homemade (YUM!). Not many restaurants around here can say the same thing. Food and drink items are priced well for what you get. I m definitely coming back again. Lubbock natives aren t used to eating authentic Mexican food, so maybe they re not used to what it tastes like, hence all the 1-star reviews (coming from a border town native)

Just went in and sat at the bar for 20 minutes and no one greeted or took our order. They were not busy enough that we couldn t be served in a descent time. Too bad we would ve tipped well. 2 of the staff we re sitting by the manager hanging out casually while we walked out

Combination caldo was excellent, wonderful flavor! The ribeye was cooked perfect, was so tender and had an amazing flavor! Service was was great and very friendly! Will definitely be coming back!

This place definitely needs work or at least to close down until they get some training done. Ordered the appetizer platter to start and it didnt come with quesadillas as stated in the menu. The wings looked cooked, but when you bite into it, it was frozen!! The staff was all over the place and still learning their own menu. This place definitely has potential but for now, Ill wait to ever go back again. The host kept telling everyone 15 to 20 minute wait but we waited for an hour for only two people. The drinks were the only plus to our experience

Slow start. They really came through with the food it was delicious. They even had different servers come check on us which made up for the slow start. Definitely would go back and cannot wait cause I know it will be even better next time!

We were waiting to try this place we came during lunch and the food sucks ....nothing special but the only good thing I can say was aguas frescas were homemade and best I tasted here in Lubbock !

Worst experience I have ever had money wasted there!!! My steak was burnt my loaded potato just had cheese the size of a lemon and we ordered wings when I got my plate they informed me they didn t have wings so we ordered beef nachos when she finally brought them out she said we don t have beef but we brought you this! First of all who brings whatever they want us to eat after we are paying for it ?? THEY DONT HAVE ANY FOOD THERE WORTH EATING AND NO KIND OF Customer service! Will never eat there again when I tried to call to speak to the manager no number available how convenient ! The only reason they have one star is because it wouldn t let me post without picking a star so don t get confused not even half a star they get from me ! FYI if you use your debit card they charge you more!

Just dont go. The service took way too long, the food was so simple a 10 year old who never cooked before could have made it more flavorful, and some of it was wrong. There are a lot better Mexican food restaurants in this town. Go to one of them instead.
