Feels like a secret, and looks like a indie speakeasy. Super cool, great vibe and would love to bring my friends and show them how cool I am. Ordered the desperado drink which was delicious and deceptively strong. The hot chicken bun was a house made chicken patty that they ground. I wasn t a big fan of this sandwich but it was serviceable to be sure. Would have preferred a chicken breast for sure. Would love to come back, super cool place that I hope keeps its good service and good vibes. I was here around 4-5pm on a Saturday and it felt very safe and not a dingy or dangerous bar at all. Very nice place

My husband and I took a day trip to Lockhart and wanted a quick bite to eat & some A/C! We were pleasantly surprised by the calm atmosphere (we went at 3:30pm) and the very kind waitstaff. They seemed incredibly young but were so personable and gave great recommendations on the menu. They seemed to work as a team, but Brayden, one of our waiters was a delight! So funny and kind. We will definitely be back.

I was predisposed to like this place based on the photos and location, but it was a weird experience. Pro: Delicious cocktail for a reasonable price. Cool atmosphere and quirky decor - definitely good vibes. It would be a good bar to hang out in for a while. Cons: absolutely not accessible unless there s another entrance I didn t see. The food options seem to have changed significantly from past reviews, and what they called their summer menu and small plates was a small selection of slightly fancy bar food options. I m not sure why a tiny hamburger is a shareable small plate, and I wasn t enthusiastic enough about the choices to order multiple plates. The empanadas were good, but again, not a full meal. It felt more like they were offering snacks to go with drinks - which would have been fine, but I thought this was a place to have dinner. Our server also seemed to be poorly trained. I might go back for drinks, but I can t recommend it for dinner currently.

This is one of the best places to have drinks in Lockhart. I don t know what this person is talking about, because she was very confrontational was given free food and drinks to attempt to overcome her disappointment for some menu items changing since the establishment opened FOUR years ago. She had a very entitled attitude from the moment she walked in, she was never going to be happy no matter what anyone was willing to do for her. I was sitting next to the lady who posted the review attached. She seemed to be very upset that the management were lgbtq. She was commenting on the way they dressed and it unfortunately escalated from there. It s very unfortunate to see someone bash a small business in our small community, where we all try to be very supportive of everyone.

I ve been a patron here for about 4 years. I literally drive down from Austin for the steak tartare, no longer offered, but that s completely fine. Here is where my issues come into play if you are going to attempt Austin prices on a Subway sandwich caliber meal, please don t have management that come off as unhoused people due to the holes in their oversized t-shirts. What happened to the mature and attentive wait staff? Why replace them with teenie-bopping staff who don t know classic cocktails or the menu? Make it make sense. Also, are we normalizing juveniles behind the bar, in an ADULT atmosphere? and WHERE IS DOLLY?! Edit: The two poorly dressed young adults in the photo are the managers and have a knack for spreading falsities about persons of color in the community. As an experienced manager, the choice in management here is egregious.

A Little Trouble is experiencing a rebirth under the management of two enthusiastic young women working through the growing pains of this new venture. Its got a SpeakEasy vibe in an underground setting in an historical downtown building. The weekly WineDown Wednesdays draws a crowd from as far as Austin and San Marcos. Jazz on Thursdays makes for a relaxing evening, and bring a friend! Arrive before 10pm and enjoy seriously good food from the kitchen. Be sure to try their signature cocktails, and youre in for a lovely experience!

My husband and I had been looking forward to eating here and made a reservation for our anniversary through LT s website. We drove an hour to get there only to find that the doors were locked and no one would answer the phone. According to their posted hours, they should ve been open. I messaged them on Instagram, no response. Emailed the owner, no response. This place is probably fine if you already happen to be in Lockhart *and* they happen to be open, but I wouldn t go out of my way to eat here, or choose this place for a special occasion.

Went here for a little date night and had some seriously AMAZING FOOD! This place has such a fun/funky vibe, and the staff was very friendly too. Felicia, I believe, was the bartender/server and she was awesome. We asked for a couple recommendations off the menu, which she happily obliged, not the the generic everythings good here response you sometimes get. The duck special was DELICIOUS, like, lick the plate clean, delicious. The scallops in green curry was really excellent too. I dont have anything negative to say. My husband and I left feeling very full and very happy. Well definitely be coming back more often.

This is such a interesting place. For our visit, the way the bartender/ waitress was dressed didn t leave anything to the imagination. Never dined anywhere that showed that much skin around food. Must be part of the vibe for the place? Food was good. Had the Salmon appetizer and then a burger with a tea. Cons: no sweet n low or substitutes for tea and music was loud, and too much goodie exposure around my food. Not sure if I will be back, I recommend trying it out though.

This is a somewhat hidden gem. Lockhart is lucky to have this place. The restaurant sits underground in a really cool low key, kinda dark cellar looking thing. They have exposed brick that makes you think you might actually be somewhere trendy on south congress, except the food is incredible and at very decent prices. We came for the Valentine s Day dinner and enjoyed their 4 course pre-fixe. We were started with a shellfish mignonette that was delicious with a little truffle surprise. The second course I enjoyed the baked oysters in a delicious miso mayo (tasted like a well made dynamite bake from a Japanese place), my wife enjoyed the caviar deviled egg salad which she enjoyed as well. Third course (main) was either duck or scallops. The duck was INSANE. Some of the best duck breast I ve had. It was perfectly salted, the texture was great and cooked to a perfect medium. It was accompanied by roasted beats. This was dish of the night. The scallops were good but the duck overshadowed it for sure. Finally, the dessert course was also great. Chocolate delice with some yummy crunchy stuff and whipped cream. They had special drinks for the night (nothing over $13) and to top it off they brought in burlesque dancers to entertain throughout. I love this place; if you come, you will too.

A mysterious set of steps lead down to Little Trouble in what seems at first a hole in the wall bar. Nothing could be further from the truth. The small dining area and modest bar hide a fabulous eating and drinking experience. Its a small menu, but everyone in our party of nine found a wonderful selection of eclectic drinks and exceptional dishes. The service was friendly and attentive. My ribeye was one of the best steaks Ive ever had. The chicken dish was like nothing youve ever seen, served with peanut cole slaw, lightly marinated cucumber slices, 2 sauces, and the lightest, crispy, thin tortilla chips ever. Try any of the specialty drinks! A great experience overall.

Trying way too hard to be boujee dive. Steak was ok , cooked as ordered. The pasta and cheese was plain couscous with a little parm and Asiago on it thrown under a broiler. Not worth the 40 bucks. The crab claw starter was inedible. Old frozen Tiny crab claws in an indistinct green sauce (possibly Hernandez green salsa in a jar). The Chicken Experience served on wooden charcuterie board (sanitary?) With slices of cucumber that have just been drenched in vinegar and salt - basically underbrined pickles. The yogurt herb sauce is watered down bottled hidden valley Ranch dressing. The little trouble sauce they wouldnt even describe, but its just hot enough to burn your taste buds off. Chipotle is the over powering flavor. Underwhelmed. No alcohol and still over 120 for 2 with tip.

Sometimes these reviews feel like homework or some thing that I am obligated to do after a ho-hum meal. There is no way for me to share in a few words just how much the team at little trouble made my 44th birthday an experience I will never forget. The crew there did not feel like they were just going through the motions, you could sense true passion from the moment we walked in to a beautiful bright smile from our hostess until the very end of the evening when the chef came out to introduce himself and ask for feedback. I am truly gracious for everyone at that restaurant who contributes to high quality service, impeccably cooked dishes, and a sensation that you are somewhere far far far from here

Ive been wanting to come to this place for awhile but hadnt had a reason to trip down from Austin. I finally bucked up and took the toll road (I hate toll roads) over and WOW am I glad I did. First of all, the space was all decked out for the holiday and was very inviting and cozy, but without feeling like covid-central. I had the special for the evening, which was pork shoulder on greens and broccoli with a garlic cream sauce, and Im pretty sure it was in the top 3 things Ive ever eaten. I had a couple glasses of their Cabernet as well, and the bill was a very reasonable $48 for myself. Add the fact that you dont have to pay for parking in Lockhart (not shocking, but a welcome difference from Austin), and I am so glad I made the surprisingly short drive over. Small menu, but Id be shocked if you couldnt find something amazing. Im now trying to talk all my friends into going for their fixed menu NYE meal. 10/10 - you should absolutely check this place out!

We have found our new favorite spot. The staff are professional but friendly. The owner is a breath of fresh air, so glad to have a cozy, casual, yet sophisticated place to get amazing food and spectacular drinks. Come dressed up for date night or dressed down for cold drink after work. The dark cherries in the Manhattan adds just the right touch. My daughter loved the Pineapple/Ginger/Lemon mocktail. The Rock Shrimp salad knocked our socks off. I need an entree size of that salad to be added to the menu; soooo good. The salmon is well prepared; a thick fillet (no thin tiny trapezoid dried up tail meat) cooked to perfection. Get the shrimp avocado dip, its delicious. I just cant say enough about this little gem. If you want to spend your money on dinner and drinks that are made with care and attention to details, make it rain at Little Trouble because you will definitely get your moneys worth.

We waited too long to check out this underground gem. Having moved from Austin to Lockhart, we enjoyed a little slice of home in Little Trouble. The tar tar was killer and made us feel like we were in a cantina in central Mexico talking about our recent bank heist. I had the pastor fish (perfect portion, flavor, skin, toppings, everything) and my husband devoured the pork chop save for the one bite he left for me. I love that I can tell a bartender that I want a cold gin drink and she makes me the perfect compliment to my meal, alongside a perfectly executed old fashioned for le boy. We loved the atmosphere, the staff, the music and the fact that we can stay late like the old days. Also, I hope they keep that banana pudding cake on the menu because it went so well with my dessert tequila that I wanted four more of each. Go get your pocket book into a little trouble at this place. You wont regret it.

Love this underground intimate and stylish space. The cocktails are imaginative and the food is out of this world delicious. Lockhart is lucky to have this place and it fits right in the beautiful town square! Can t say enough good things about this spot. <3

This place is fantastic. It s filled with one of a kind atmosphere. Very quirky in the best of ways. The food was fantastic. I ve been 3 times. Have had 2 excellent fish dishes, and had the ribeye last night. One of the best steaks I ve had in ages. The service was warm and genuine.

Best food by far. Original threw and threw. Service was great and one of the best old fashioned I have ever had.
