My experience with North Texas Family Lawyers was a very good one. Priscilla Maldonado and Trenton Wright made the entire process easier to bear. Divorce is not easy, the help and care they provided made it easier to deal with. They were always prompt, professional, accurate, but most importantly, they cared. Consultation with Chad went great and I thought he was going to have my back. Hired, then had one five minute conversation before he filed an answer that was lacking in the things we discussed at the initial consult as well as asking for things (like a jury trial) that was never discussed or approved. He filed my answer without conferring with me or getting final approval. In fact it was not even uploaded to me until about a week later, despite multiple attempts at contact. Genuinely just didn t seem to care. After a week of trying to get in contact multiple different ways, he canceled my hearing prep meeting for a TRO that was happening the next day. This man wanted me to show up at a TRO Hearing with only one five minute conversation and 1 consultation under our belts. Absolutely not. I was forced to get a continuance and go three extra months with no resolution to the frivolous suit filed against me. Ate up my entire retainer after filing less than 1 page of an answer before we even got to the hearing I hired him for. He withdrew from my case after I got frustrated with his paralegal who told me multiple times she would call me back and never did. She also gave me incorrect hearing dates. She also did not seem to care. Furthermore, BEFORE the judge signed off on his withdrawal the firm failed to send over the opposing party s discovery when received or let me know when mine was due, nor did he forward me the Notice of Hearing that was filed and served to his office exclusively. Horrible, borderline unethical practice. +1 star for filing a semi coherent answer and for showing me what a good practice SHOULDNT do. Shame on me for not seeing through the facade. Luckily I found someone else who showed me how a good firm operates and got me exactly the outcome I wanted.

Im sort of confused on how to interpret this review. I was highly pleased with the initial meeting I had and the passion/expertise regarding my case. However, Im conflicted and feel scammed because I have made several phone calls and messages regarding my inability to view the documents and invoices that are uploaded to my case. However, I had no problem with someone contacting me initially to make sure I can sign the docs and submit my payment online, but after the payment was received no communication efforts were made regarding the messages and calls I made regarding my inability to access mycase (the online portal to view docs and invoices). Its been several weeks, keep in mind this started in December so I am considerate of the holiday season causing some delays. But there is no excuse for it to be January 10th and I have yet to have any efforts made to send me my docs or assist me with setting up a new account with a different email in order to access the online portal to see whats going on. One time I was able to speak with Casey I believe and she claimed she would send me the documents that I have via email since I couldnt use the online portal. However it never happened and I am still trying to see how was my case handled, what are the charges that are/may be deducted from my deposit. I shouldnt be left in the dark for so long. Im truly disappointed and feel concerned about whats happening behind the scenes and what is/was the intent. I find it quite suspicious that someone initialized communication to make sure I can sign and submit payment but once the deposit was received; I have no response or call backs with my concerns about not being able to access my docs and invoices via the portal. I hope this is only an issue for me and no one else. I really thought I found a law office that I could trust and work with in the future. I dont know what to think at this point.

I would highly recommend this law firm. This was my first experience with an attorney for a divorce. Mr. Neal was so pleasant and understanding to work with. He was very knowledgeable and came up with things I would have never been able to do without an attorney. His office staff is super nice and they truly seem to care about the welfare of their clients. I never felt like I was being taken advantage of. I am so grateful that the mediator the opposing party wanted to use fell through. At the very last day, Mr Ashmore was available. I had no idea what to expect, and I was somewhat nervous. The staff was so gracious, the office was comfortable, and Mr Ashmore was very genuine. Even in this difficult time, I felt at peace and ease in this office. He was not pushy or impatient; in fact, just the opposite. He offered good advice and was truly helpful. The office is lovely and lunch was great too!

Bill Neal represented me in my divorce years ago & again recently in a child support modification issue (same ex). He cuts to the chase & gets a fair settlement. Like others have noted hes not cheap but you get what you pay for with him. Hopefully Ill not need these services again but if I do hell be the one I call.

After a great deal of run around with the mother of my daughter, I contacted L. James Ashmore. He let me know upfront that this would not be a quick or easy process. I appreciate that honesty because without it, I may have given up after over a year without results. Long story short, we were able to track my daughter down after a move and get our day in court. Bill Neal is experienced enough to understand the complexities of a highly contested custody situation. He has the ability to see through the weeds and get to the heart of the matter which is the best interest of the children. My two daughters were in a situation that literally put their lives at risk. Bill understood this and fought hard to keep them alive and brought them back home where they are happy and thriving once again. My children want to live now. I cant say enough about Bills experience, integrity and his true desire to fight for what is right. I have to admit that I did not like lawyers. Bill Neal is an exception! My sisters and I had just lost our Mother from a very brief fight with Cancer. We were emotional wrecks, we were sad, and distressed, and did not know who to turn to, but, we had a will that my Mother wanted us to use. She was divorcing my Father and wanted to make sure that we were going to get some inheritance. Enter the contest of the wills. Much needed to be done for our Mothers will to get acknowledged as a valid will, but we put our trust in the Neal Ashmore law firm and we were not disappointed....ever, and it was a very complex case. We did not have to call, email, or keep track of every single little thing because, this is the professionalism that the Neal Ashmore Family Law Group gives to their clients. They do it for you. We did not have to worry, because they took that burden on themselves, and just gave us the information that we needed to make difficult decisions. Having had to deal with several lawyers in the past, I can tell you from personal experience that the Neal Ashmore Law Group is the group that you want. If you want your case handled promptly, professionally and in a timely manner from case beginning to end, these guys dont drag things out, and they most certainly do not play around. We were directed to this firm by another attorney in Denton and we were glad that we got that help. Our daughter and her husband were divorcing and we needed some very strong representation. Terrible. TERRIBLE. John Denke is absolute WORST lawyer ive ever used. He had a simple, cut and dry case. A for sure winner. Even had court documents and court orders to prove this case and win it for him. The guy CHOKED. It was so bad, we, as the prosecutors, didnt even go first at the hearing. He let the defense set the tone. Then did not hold the judge to what he said a few weeks earlier in court before it was rescheduled. I paid this guy THOUSANDS of dollars, only to LOSE a SURE win that cost me $17,000. Thats $22,000 ive list due to this lawyer that any run of the mill,average, rookie lawyer could have handled and won. My ex didnt even use a lawyer,she represented herself, and still this guy looked like a clown, and believe me im being nice here. WOULD NOT RECOMEND THIS GUY TO MY WORST ENEMY. NEVER. NOT IN A MILLION YEARS.I cant be anymore clear. Do Not Use.

My divorce was dragging on and on by Ex attorney and my previous attorney. If you are working professional and responsible person there is no easy way out in a divorce case. Neal and his team help expedite the process and get you over the painful process as quickly as possible. Like everything in life, you get what you pay for. Cheaper attorney means they lack experience in family practice. I fired my previous attorney and seek Neal teams by a friend of mine. I recommend Neal and his team because they coach you the process of dealing with the Ex and how to go about in dealing with child visitation if you have children. Here is my advice, if you are thinking about the divorce then it is going to happen sooner or later in the future. Like my friend said a zebra never looses its stripe. The happiest day of a man life is the day he got married and the day the divorced is finalized. It was a big stake out of my chest, thus having the proper guidance from a great legal team helps to identify your boundary. I came to Neal Ashmore Family Law Group terrified about request for paternity establishment from the biological father who had never been in my daughters 13 years of life.
