Chris and Sarah did a wonderful job handling our adoption case. The matter was handled in court quickly and efficiently which is far more than we expected. It made the process easier for us so we could focus on our child. I would recommend them to anyone especially those going through an adoption. I recently lost my best friend of 34 years. I knew it was very important that I contact my attorney and get my will updated as soon as possible. Unfortunately the attorney that prepared and updated my will twice was not in the business of doing Trusts and wills anymore. I looked online and found several in my area, Harris and Schroeder was, fortunately the first one on my list to call. Truthfully it was because they were located like not even two miles from my home, but when I spoke with Sarah I knew within minutes of our conversation that I was going to pick her to update my will. I am sure, I exhausted her with my life story, but she was a champ and I could tell that she was on my side, we picked a time and date to meet up at her office. I cannot express just how comfortable I felt with her in just minutes of our meeting. She knew that I needed this done asap as soon as I explained to her my situation. When I left her office and meeting her kind husband who works in the office as well. I left feeling like finally, someone heard me, someone gets me. With in days the documents were drawn up and ready for me to sign. Sarah knew that this would be one less burden for me to worry about and worked diligently to get it done. I could not be happier and will certainly use her firm any and every time I need anything done that she can take care of for me. I cannot thank you enough Sarah. Sam Loehr

Communicative, quick, personable and fair- highly recommend! Sarah was so amazingly helpful during the most difficult time in my life. She was extremely communicative and took her time explaining my options at every turn of my uncontested divorce. I felt like I got great advice from her (which I should have listened to more) and she did a wonderful job keeping our interactions positive but realistic. She advocated for me but was definitely not out to get my former spouse. Its clear that her intentions are to do whats best for everyone involved, especially if there are children. Her billing/rates were extremely reasonable; she even went out of her way to follow up with our judge multiple times without charging me. Sarah is kind and empathetic-- I appreciate that she talked to me like a person, not just a client. I have already recommended the services of Harris & Schroeder to multiple friends!

My divorce started about a year ago and I reached out to a local lawyer. The things that still stand out to me, months since, are the following: 1. Coming to mediation unprepared. I had to re-email him important financial documents during the mediation. He also disappeared to a black screen repeatedly and returned late for the mediator. 2. Ignoring or misremembering terms I had discussed with him in multiple previous conversations, and failing to bring them up as my representative. 3. Mentioning that women, specifically ex-spouses of other clients, can be petty 4. Failing to notice terms written by the other party which were clearly favoring the other party with no benefit to the child. 5. A remarkable lack of understanding of why a parent wishes to spend more time with their child. 6. Lack of an initial interview, failure to proactively reach out with information and updates, and inaccurately referring to some delays as the responsibility of the other party. I offered an exit interview but received no response. No money was left in my trust to be returned, and I was left believing I spent thousands on a lawyer who did not care about me as a client and as a fellow parent. I hired a lawyer because I could not do this alone. I am not unintelligent, but reacting to an unexpected divorce, with a young toddler who was still nursing, and going back to school, means I was neither emotionally nor mentally prepared. The correct decision for someone like me is to seek professional help and have ones interest be represented, with common sense towards the welfare and happiness of the child. I do not recommend this law firm to help anyone else with those goals. NOTE: No, I dont wish to further discuss anything with this law firm. I had offered an exit interview when it counted.

The representation I was able to get from Chris Harris was exactly what we needed. My children and I left an abusive situation and I needed help to obtain a divorce and address custody that would be best for the children. Chris was patient with my never ending questions and always kind. He quickly responded to my phone calls and always took my concerns seriously. He requested from the judge supervised visits and it was granted. Although he represented us back in 2006, I am thankful to this day for all the work he put in because of how my children have grown up. My son is now 17 and is a senior in high school and working a great job. My daughter is 15 and plays basketball in high school and already has her college selected to become a veterinarian. I was able to go back to school as a single mom and become a licensed professional counselor. We are all doing well and I attribute many of life successes to making a great choice in who represented us in court to keep our family safe and healthy.

Two stars, not one, because Chris seems to be a really nice guy. But the representation was very poor, and inefficient. Not only for my case, but for the one he handled just prior, he was completely and totally unprepared... The judge was annoyed by it. We were obliterated, even though the case was simple should have been straightforward with a little preparation. Unprepared meaning that the opposing council came out swinging with outrageous claims, and he not only did not have materials or ideas or talking points to counter them, he also did not seem to have in his possession, let alone in his command, the other materials that had been shared with him prior.

This is an exceptional law firm and truly honest attorneys (rare to find such good people these days) who know the law, remain calm under pressure and get the job done. They were very honest and upfront with us and did everything to make sure our interests were fully represented and fought for. We were out of state clients who had to deal with a unnecessary suit. These attorneys ensured this suit stayed within a reasonable cost. We had a great experience with them, keeping us in the loop and conferencing with us as needed, sharing the plan moving forward up to the point the issue was resolved.
