My family loves coming to the YMCA! We participate in several sports, and its been a wonderful experience for all of us. Coach Singleton is especially amazing with the kids. Hes patient, encouraging, and really knows how to bring out the best in them. We couldnt ask for a better environment for our children to grow and learn.

The Perry Family YMCA is very well run and maintained. The remodel is very good and the facility is very clean. There is ample parking on a very busy avenue near retail businesses. I am an early morning attendee and am greeted warmerly and made to feel welcome by your staff, especially by Rachel. I am in the spin cycle class lead by Jessica Mitchell. Jessica is a true professional fitness instructor. Always on time and prepared to lead the class with a smile and great concern for the safety and well-being of all participants. I have been a member of several YMCAs throughout the mid-west and this YMCA ranks very high on my list. Thank you. Lew Hill Sr

The Perry Family YMCA embodies the spirit of community. The classes are fire and the instructors are proficient, supportive, caring and skilled. I love that the facility is well maintained and clean. It warms my heart to see families working out together, participating in sports or enjoying an event. The best part is walking in the lobby to see a group of elderly gentlemen playing cards, or group of women having bible study or a book discussion, friends visiting after a workout or even business meetings taking place. The Perry YMCA is so many things to so many of us. It is a true staple in our community and lives.

Absolutely the worst experience with their summer camp. Horrendous decisions, bullying, unorganized and unprofessional. Had disected animals without parental ok. Child is 7!!!! And this was the weekly field trip held at the facility. If child didnt want to view, which was the case she was sick to her stomach and almost vomited, they told her to go play with Legos. Pathetic excuse for field trip. Absolutely disgusted!!!!!

I absolutely LOVE this YMCA!! The child watch has been incredible. They are so professional,organized,and kind. It has been the biggest blessing to be able to know my kids are safe and taken care of while I go workout. I can t say enough good things about that! I looked at other gyms and couldn t ever find a child watch/kids club I felt good about or liked. I have been to a few classes as well and love them. The YMCA is clean and has such an uplifting,positive vibe. I am soooo happy I signed up! It has been a game changer as a mom of 3 little ones! Love this place!

Perry Family YMCA offers so many activities for children, and adults alike. Also, with the facility s renovation, the floor plan is spacious and flows well, the gym equipment is modern, and it s so clean every time when we re there. And referring specifically to the OG team members, they ve always made us feel so welcome, and their service goes above and beyond. Going to a gym to work out is nothing spectacular, have been to plenty of other brand gyms and got good work outs in. But, when walking into Perry Family, it s so nice to see the smiling OG faces with their warm welcome. It s kinda like the old skool tv sitcom Cheers, sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name, and theyre always glad you came, you wanna be where you can see our troubles are all the same

My local YMCA shut down their lap and recreational pool at the last minute and we decided to head to this location. I just needed a recreational pool for the kids to hang out in. Little did I know this location was a mini water park for the kids. I cannot believe they have a water slide and very cute selection and fun fixtures for the kids to play in. They emphasize a lot of safety at this pool which is a huge plus. I believe they enforce a 10 minute safety break for every hour, due to the extreme heat exposure outside. They have plenty of life guards who also dont allow for kids to rough play (also another plus). The people at the front desk are very nice and helpful as it was our first time. They have plenty of parking and this facility is very clean.

Good Price, But they need a better setup for communication. They are only able to email info like game and practice reminders to one email even though it has Family in the name. Also I have always had to drive up to get anything done, their web page does not let you register your kid,. And often no one seems to be able to answer questions. One lady seem to be in charge, if she is not there, then youll have to come back

I like going to this gym when I have my kids with me. They have such a great child care area. They do crafts, play outside or organize different activities for them. Some days they will give them popcorn or have a special treat for them. I feel the staff is very nice and friendly. You also get a discount in classes you put your kids in like swim or Ninja is you are a member. When it s summer, my kids love going to their kids pool area. As far as the actual gym area, there is a good amount of machines. The pics on the website have not been updated. They have a lot of cardio machines but still have 5 squat racks with 3 having deadlifting platforms. They also have a turf area. I think this gym is one of the least intimidating gyms I have ever been to so it would be good for beginners or people who get anxious at gyms.

This facility if very clean and well maintained. The exercise room is very large and well equipped. Great day care for the parents who have small children. The staff is really friendly and helpful. I have yet to participate in organized activities / workouts so I am unable to comment on the quality, but they have quite a few to offer (yoga, boot camp, spinning, etc.). I do like the Mon - Fri pickleball time in the gym, great for rainy days when I cannot play outside.

I love coming to the ymca. The ymca has great classes and great instructors. I love how the instructors motivate you. I love doing Bodypump, Bodycombat, Yoga and zumba there are different instructors for zumba. I love coming and I am glad to be a member. I also love the workout stuff thr elliptical and treadmill and stair master.

I feel comfortable leaving my son with child watch while I go and workout. My son enjoys his time there and the crafts they have for them. He also enjoys the Ninja Warrior class and tumbling classes they offer. I recently learned they offer Home School P.E. classes!! I am overall satisfied.

These people lack communication like crazy. I m someone who has to leave work early to drive home and get my child to participate in Swim. Not only are the hours already are inconvenient for me but just trying to have my child join the team was a hassle between all of the run around and different people I had to email and various emails back and forth to keep up with with a mess. Now that he s on I can barely make it to his lessons. I really wasn t going to review my experience because I am grateful for the place however the final straw was when swim class was canceled due to weather but no email or notification was sent prior. I spoke with a mother who had called prior to her coming and she was told classes were still on going and when she arrived to the lobby they notified us classes were closed. Not only did I have to leave work early for nothing but no form of communication was given beforehand. The only response I got after my complaint was we ll do better. Since I m here, a few weeks ago while enrolling my child for after school id like to note that there was an older woman I spoke with over the phone and it wasn t the first time and each time I get her she is just so rude. She lacks mannerisms and phone etiquette. It s really sad because this is suppose to be a fun and safe haven for children but again the communication here isn t the best so be mindful to ask lots of questions and always get a break down of what you re paying for and the names of who is helping you.

I joined the YMCA for the gym and children. My children attended swim lessons, which was a wonderful experience for them. I like that the gym is so well equipped, and that members have a variety of activities to engage in. I like that child care is offered, though it would be nice to have child care during a larger part of the day. The staff is kind and helpful.

Visited for the first time this week and was frustrated by the kids making a scene, screaming, and hogging all the equipment but not really working out. Thought Id visit today during the work day for a quieter workout only to find a little girl being forced to run on a treadmill by her mother, crying and distraught. There is zero supervision in the gym and there are kids there younger than 10 lifting weights in flip flops. Will avoid this location at all costs.

The facility is great and clean. However the sign up for sports for the youth program is not user friendly. I have been using different apps and sign ups for youth sports for 30 years now and the YMCAs by far is one of the worst. However the staff outside of the disorganization of the youth sports programs are fantastic. I will give it 3 stars because of all the confusion and horrible communication. Again the staff is friendly and the facilities are always clean.

Love the variety of group exercise classes offered at this locate (really appreciate the daytime cardio/Zumba type classes, too) and I love that the b cardio machines and weights in the main weight room are all relatively new and well cared for. This is a big gym that doesnt feel overcrowded and we appreciate that they dont blast music in the main gym like many local gyms do, so we can hear our own music in our headphones. Staff at this YMCA is always very friendly and welcoming, too.

Poor customer service. They owe a refund, weve been getting the run around for over a month. The person who supposedly does the refund claims she didnt know , but it has been in process since June. Parents be advise the splash pool can be dangerous. First time my kids use the splash pool and one got hurt after losing his balance and losing his step on the stairs. He got all scratched up in his knees and feet I will try to provide a picture. We had to leave as soon as that happened. The bucket of water that dumps/drops the water down has to much water causing it to have so much pressure more than any waterpark I been too.

We cancelled our memebership well well before the 10 day minimum to cancel.... They didnt enter it into the computer until almost 10 days after we cancelled it... So they ended up charging us again and told us oh well it wasnt put in until this day so we have to have it approved before we can refund you... It was thier mistake and lack of doing thier job properly as to why it wasnt entered in... Its been 3 weeks and still being told its processing.... I will never go back to the ymca... It was fun for the gym and pool but they dont care about you after you leave

We had a membership here for about a year. We used it for their little water park area for the kids. Kids have to take a swim test before they can get a wristband to use the slide. Since my youngest was just learning to swim, they did not allow arm floaties, so I had to walk around behind her at all times. It was against the rules for my oldest to pick up her sister in the water. Its a bit oppressive with lifeguards placed like every 2 ft, so lots of whistle blowing. They take breaks, so everyone has to get out for like 10 mins. There is a covered patio area that you can sit and put your stuff. Plus, a walk-up window to order smoothies from Smoothie King. I had taken both kids there for swim lessons. The older one went when they had a different system where they were grouped by level of ability. She ended with a the top level where she had to tread water for so long and learn how to group together if there was a group of people needing rescue. Now they teach by grouping by age. Not as good. They use their lap pool for lessons and have a separate time for lap swimming. This is not a full Olympic sized pool. We also went there for family yoga. I would put my youngest in the free daycare (for members). There is a weight room too. My older daughter went there for their camps. But, they are outside in the pavilion area most of the day. The camp counselors are teens and dont know how to handle conflict most of the time. My kid said that after they swim, they arent allowed to shower off in the shower/changing rooms. That drove her crazy the most.

My family and I have been here for almost a year, while the gym is well kept and staff is helpful the experience with Kindergarten soccer has been dreadful. We have no coach, half of the games have been postponed 3-4 hours after scheduled times, and to top it off the team is constantly misinformed via email for games. Hope they can get themselves organized, will likely be asking for a refund.

I called to get some more information about the swim classes, and I wish I didnt. I spoke to a very annoyed Cheryl who could have cared less about helping me. I asked her if she was able to help me, and she informed me i can actually find all the info online... Well i needed pricing, because I was not able to fins the info online. After a very exaggerated sigh of annoyance, she says well are you a member! me: No maam well its $115 per session. Okay, what if i was a member? her response, $75! I do not mind spending the money but it will not be with them. You are asking people to spend that kind of money, you nee to invest some of that in training and people skills.

Good selection of equipment and classes in the fitness center, and my kids liked the summer day camp. Some of the instructors arent so great, so if you go into, say, the evening yoga classes, its a good idea to err on the conservative side with poses or just sit out anything youre not sure of.

Great community YMCA. I think the trainers need to do a better job of engaging their clients, members, and bring more energy to the table. Some trainers need to focus on their clients and making sure their movements are fluid and not letting their clients continue through dysfunctional movements.

Clean place. Locker room is clean and not too hot so you dont just sweat after a shower. Machines that are down get fixed fast. I wish they had plate loaded machines. Dont play music, or at least what you can hear, but most people have headphones so I guess it doesnt matter. Friendly crowd too.

I would give this place a 0 out of 5 stars if I could strictly based on the service at the front desk. The older, white haired gentleman who works the front desk appears to have been hired straight from the DMV. If you want to deal with a condescending/arrogant dude, you ve come to the right place. It would best serve the Y to get rid of this guy.

Friendly, clean, great staff. My kids LOVE the daycare. They actually take the time to interact and have fun with the kids rather than just throwing them in a room. Swim lessons were great. I would suggest this to anyone.

Weve been members here for over 2 years now. I love the YMCA but this review is for the gym. I like that its not as crowded as the bigger gyms. Im always asking the staff how to correct my form when trying a new exercise and their always helpful. They actually come out and walk around and stand and look around as well. They do not have all of the equipment such as the bigger gyms but they are much smaller and would not be able to fit everything but it works for all levels of fitness.
