This was my first time coming the food was excellent and delicious I got the seafood platter and a Greek salad and it was phenomenal. The server Keiona was very sweet and attentive to us. Me and the wife had the Mumbo Gumbo, OMG this was so good. I only wish they would remove the beef. The rest is the bomb. I picked the beef out and was probably the best Gumbo I have ever had. Great job just lose the beef.

I was craving fish and shrimp after a day at the beach and found this place on the way home. Was not disappointed- everything was delicious, fresh and crispy. I actually really liked my fiancé s shrimp feast platter more than mine - the coconut shrimp and bacon wrapped shrimp were my favorite!

This was my 2nd time at Little Daddys Gumbo Bar. The first time I got the red beans and rice. It was fantastic which is why I decided to try it again. The 2nd time I took my family. We got the gator and fried pickle appetizer. It was good but the gator had a slimey texture. Not sure if that is how gator is supposed to taste. My son enjoyed his tribeca burger he finished the whole thing. We ordered two of the lunch specials. Which was half of a shrimp poboy and bowl of gumbo. The poboy was good minus the ketchup and shrimp were pretty small. The biggest disappointment was the gumbo. The fact that gumbo is on the title of the business name I had high expectations. From appearance the gumbo look great. A good dark brown roux and consistency of the roux was great. The taste gets zero stars. Not even a hint of salt. It also had stewed tomatoes in it. Which absolutely does not belong in gumbo. It tasted exactly like vegetable soup. It had the tomato base flavor and full of celery and little meat. I would love to come back and try a seafood platter. Hope that this is seen and the recipe is adjusted for the gumbo. Service was good,food came out quick, restraunt was clean.

Nice place. The only reason I gave it 3 stars was I had the gumbo and it was average at best. All the other Cajun food Ive had there was really good. Its just they call it a gumbo bar so I expected better gumbo and the crawfish were a little more expensive than other places at the moment even tho they are high everywhere rn. The crawfish also have a very strong Tabasco flavor which was new to me and I didnt ask for it that way. I think they just cook it with alot of it. I just dont like Tabasco on crawfish others might

My boyfriend and I like to go out to get gumbo all the time. Since its just the 2 of us we dont like making a big pot of gumbo and buying all of the ingredients when it is cheaper and easier to go out. The gumbo at Little Daddys Gumbo bar looked really pretty. It was a dark chocolate brown. I really wanted to like it. It came in a huge portion too. I tasted it and it was thin and very bland. I tried putting Tabasco in it and it tasted just like Tabasco. I think it didnt have enough roux or something but it is very dark. They also didnt put enough meat. I would much rather pay more and get more meat. My boyfriend got 2 oysters and 3 shrimp in his big bowl of gumbo. I did not like the meat. I thought the sausage was ok but the chicken was tough, perhaps they could have used bone in thighs. But the worst offender was the prime rib. There is a reason that prime rib is not a traditional addition to gumbo. The prime rib was really flavorless and tough. Nobody wants a big flavorless chunk of meat in their soup. Pot roast would have been way better but I still would not have wanted it in my gumbo. That dish doesnt go well with beef. If they wanted to elevate gumbo crab would have really worked.

TRASH!!! You can tell that this place doesn t keep the lights on by providing good service and quality food, why else would they have a packaging fee. Gotta recoup cost somewhere. Their gumbo is literally just rice and gravy, with some meat they add in. Anyone who knows a good gumbo knows a roux takes time and gives so much of a better flavor. Kettle is giving burnt, pot flavor, under seasoned meat. Respectfully.

J. T. and his crew are the BEST. If I owned a restaurant, I would hire him as my manager. He can do any job, cook, bartend, wait tables and always does it with a smile. Jade is very friendly and professional and Blanca can cook some great waffles. This is a weekly stop for my family. Food is always fresh and great. Worth a visit.

I have been going to Galveston my whole life and have never found a gumbo that I liked until yesterday. I grew up with (Port Arthur, the Cajun Capitol of Texas) gumbos that did not have okra in them and all of the ones that I have had in town have been so okra forward that I could not eat them. The gumbo I picked up to go from Little Daddys is the best ive had so far on the island. I could smell the okra, and it really added a depth to the flavor and smell of the roux.

Staff was VERY helpful. The place didnt give that WOW factor like some of the other Cajun restaurants do. Food wasnt the worst Ive had but it surly wasnt the best. What do you keep your thermostat on?? The place was FREEZING!! I only feel for your staff, especially when front door swing open, letting more cold air in. We had great service from the time we walked in until we walked out. I had a cup of gumbo and my husband had the Jambalaya. Mine was good but my husband s was even better. It was filled with chicken, real andouille sausage and topped with shrimp. I highly recommend the Jambalaya if you want an authentic Cajun dish.

I have lived in Dickinson over six years and passed by this place so many times and only recently found out about it when I went inside. Everything is running very efficiently, the manager JT is awesome, the bartender Diana is great. She makes a great old-fashioned. The crawfish empanadas are amazing. I ve been back several times since my initial visit. Will be back again! Keep doing what you are doing, 10 out of 10, would recommend.

We had Ms.Jade as our server, phenomenal service she had multiple tables and still my glass never was empty and she was so patient with us looking at the menu, even helped me decide- which she did not have to do. The what I assume is the manager was walking around very involved, saw me looking confused for legit one second and immediately pointed me to the restroom, and guess what? THEYRE PLUS SIZE FRIENDLY enough space to take kids with you or move around very comfortably, single stall so breastfeeding friendly aswell. The food was soulful to the max I can tell someone back there knew what they were doing and did it well. Not greasy even the fried food was minimal grease! Family of 5. First time dinning at this establishment. Atmosphere is great. Chill. Music is befitting the theme as was the art on the walls. The food was delicious. Highly recommend the bacon wrapped shrimp, jambalaya, seafood platter and wings. Great options for the kids as well. Fried fish and chicken tenders were great. Our server, Jade, was very nice. She even offered us a sample of the red beans & rice so we could see if our youngest would like it before we ordered it. Manager came by our table to ask if we were enjoying our meal.

Delicious food ! Went there yesterday for my first time , accidentally came across it I was in the area trying to find something to eat. Wow, What a great place to have lunch ordinary. What time does restaurant easy location with ample parking in great atmospherian. I was greeted and seated by friendly staff right away. Very disappointed in their $2.50 takeout fee. Apparently its to cover the cost of supplies. Since I ordered a single meal for myself, that $2.50 was for one plastic to-go container, one plastic bag, and one set of utensils. Way to nickle and dime your customers on a Tuesday night. When I walked in, there was only one other person at the bar so Im not sure if its a good idea to punish those looking for a quick bite. Will no longer be returning.

Food is the best I have had outside of New Orleans original. Cant say enough! I have no idea how the restaurants nearby do any business whatsoever with this being an option. Beautiful presentation, steaming & piping hot. the veggies looked seasoned but werent very seasoned taste wise. Asked for blacked catfish, it was more grilled than blackened. It had a nice flavor to it. The etouffee was nicely seasoned. The shrimp poboy was great, no complaints from my son who devoured the whole thing in timely matter. My husband and I ate there on Sunday afternoon and it was perfect as always. The food and service from Trevor were top notch! Trevor is polite, friendly, and on top of the game! I m posting on principle. The staff was great and the food was as well. Myself and others from work eat here often so no complaints in that regard. It was late tonight but I decided to stop in for a quick to go dinner, ordered and noticed a $2.50 to go fee on my receipt. $2.50 for what exactly? The to go containers? No those are provided free when you dine in and I didn t dirty up a table, napkins or cutlery. You would think the restaurant saved money in labor and cleaning supplies on to go orders. I would rather give the $2.50 to the wait staff as a tip. Please, please don t charge this anymore.

Have been visiting this location for several years. We liked it so much that I usually spend several hundred dollars on gift cards here during the holidays, but probably not anymore. My observations over the past year and a half has revealed several things about this location. 1) The food quality has steadily declined while prices have increased. During our last two visits the gumbo was meh, with little fill and served barely lukewarm. Not a good look for the signature dish and restaurant namesake. After the first experience I thought maybe it was just an off night, but after today s visit, it s now been three consecutive occasions. 2) There also appears to have been multiple managerial changes over this course of time, most likely the reason for the obvious decline in meal quality. 3) And there is now a $2.50 up charge on any to go order. Just doesn t seem right. My daughters and I witnessed a somewhat heated conversation between a very dissatisfied long term customer and the manager at another member restaurant of this chain in Galveston a few weeks ago regarding the to go fee. I know she truly was a long term customer because I ve seen her there several times before when we were there. She said (for everyone there to hear) that she had been patronizing their restaurant since it opened and had never been charged a to go fee. The manager explained it was a new charge that started in 2023 on all to go orders, so I guess it applies to all of their restaurants. While I understand take out containers, etc., there are also no dishes, tables, or linens to clean for restaurant personnel so the up charge seems a little unnecessary, especially at the already peak price point of the product. The people at all of their restaurants have always been friendly no issues there ever. But what used to be a standout dining option is now just an also ran, and for the $ there s better choices out there. We still enjoy and will still visit some of their other locations but unfortunately Little Daddy s Gumbo Bar is scratched from our list.

Let me be blunt for a moment. Im very critical of Cajun cuisine. I personally love the complex flavors, the simplicity of it, and the fact that its just plain good. This place went above and beyond my expectations. The fried alligator was tender and flavorful (unlike some so-called Cajun places where you are better off biting a tire). The gumbo had a beautiful dark roux that wasnt burnt. Gabby was my server and they made sure my drink stayed full and I was pleased with my food. 10/10 will come here again.

Gabby was our server and she was amazing!! We mentioned st the beginning of pur meal that we had an appointment and she was very mindful of that and even asked if we wanted boxes because it was close to time for us to go to the appointment. The food was top notch as well and everything Cajun food should be without being over spiced. Definitely get the fried gator, the gumbo (of course), and the fried oysters.

Dont know why Ive never left a review before! This place is phenomenal! I love their gumbo and have tried other dishes that were just as good. Service is usually top-notch, and tonight was no exception. I usually eat here but came in for a to-go order tonight. Josh greeted me right away, answered ALL of my questions, and helped me figure out the best way to order Gumbo for 4 with some leftovers. He was so helpful and funny. After a LONG work day, he was just what I needed to keep me going home. Laura is amazingly sweet to talk to. I just cant say enough good things about the staff here or the food! My husband and I have been looking for a good Cajun place close to home. We are so happy to have found Little Daddys! Their fried shrimp is the very best shrimp we have ever had and the gumbo was absolutely delicious! The wait staff is excellent! We had a great time. We love everything about Little Daddys Seafood Gumbo!! We will definitely be coming back and we will be sharing our experience with family and friends!

We live in Galveston and usually go to the Gumbo Bars here, but we stopped at the Gumbo Bar on FM 646 last night. Their gumbo was so much better than the gumbo I have eaten at our Gumbo Bars. Their fried okra is also delicious. It is hardly battered at all, not greasy or uncooked. Also, the service was great. They were attentive but not pushy or dismissive either. If you have not tried this Gumbo Bar, I highly recommend it.

My family and I ate here on our way to the airport, so we were in a bit of a hurry. They did a fantastic job getting the food out fast. I ordered the gumbo and jacked jalapeños. The jalapeños were the best thing we had fantastic. The étouffée was just ok. I didnt see any whole crawfish tails, and that is what Im used to. The shrimp poboy was also fantastic. I would get that next time. My kids are picky eaters, so I was impressed by the number of choices for them. They had a Tribeca Burger and chicken fingers with cheese fries they said it was very good and ate every bite. The service was wonderful, JT was perfect, I couldnt give any criticism, he was wonderful. To finish it off, we got beignets to go, and they were the best beignets I have had outside of Louisiana.

This is a places has quaintness to it. The staff didnt seem like they are ready for business. I sat at the bar waiting from a to go order and it took 30 minutes to receive my food. Once, I received my food, I drove to work to only be disappointed in the quantity and quality of the food I got. Wish, I would have saved the photos of my order. The jumbo tastes more like a curry lke stew and then roux.

This was the second visit to Little Daddys Gumbo bar. Staff is always very nice and helpful. Food is great. I cannot pass by without getting the jacked up jalapeños. The Mumbo Gumbo is the best around. Every time I pass through the area I will be stopping in for the great food and great service.

When I got to the parking lot it was full. I told my mom (who needs a walker) that I would drop her off in front of the door. When she got out the waitress came out and said I got this, you go park. She had my mom at a table and everything set up. When it was time to go it was the same. The staff was amazing. The food was great. And Olivia was the best. It came up on my Facebook as a invite to like the page.. so I did.. photos of the food looked pretty good so we went and tried it and will never return. The waitress Olvia was so nice and good at her job.. the gator wouldve been good if not for the hair. Then the fish and fries came and everything was a greasy mess.. it was probably the worst fish and fries Ive ever had. WE shared a plate couldnt pick the fish up to put it on another plate.. it just fell to pieces .. and batter was not adhered with the greasy fish. They did fix us another gator. But it shouldve just been removed from the ticket. Even the tea at 3.59 a glass was a waste and not good. The whole bad experience cost me 40.. plus the tip.
