The Benedict Arnold (eggs Benedict) is so delicious when my family comes to visit Scratch is always on the agenda. Its so good we are planning on a wedding brunch rehearsal instead of dinner. I already asked and was told Scratch will be open on December 26th 2020 so please have plenty of the Benedict Arnold (6-12 people) Update- August 29th, 2024 Im back in Laredo for a baby shower and told we should go to La Finca instead, but we really wanted the Benedict Arnold. We should have listened our food was cold and they were very stingy with the ingredients. Barley any jalapeño hollandaise.

I ordered the When Pigs Fly for pick up. I arrive home and see that 3 ingredients are missing- bacon marmalade, tomatoes, & lemon vinaigrette. I called asking if they could remake the sand-which and they said no, that I could go pick up a side of bacon marmalade- very disappointing.

The home made potatoes are very delicious. The conchas are delicious, the best in Laredo Tx. The pressed chicharron is delicious, they could add a little more meat to the dish. The waiter is very attentive. Parking: Few spaces in front, you have to look at the back of the place. It is worth the walk because the food is delicious.

Used to love going here for the scratch sandwich. Up until my most recent visit about 2 months ago, my boyfriend, son, and i went and ordered. When we were told our total i thought there s no way we got $70 worth of food! I asked for the receipt and there was several things added to our receipt that we never ordered or got! Our waiter KNEW he added things to our receipt, and thought he would get away with it. I don t remember his name, but he overcharged us almost $20! Gave us $10 from his tips and said for us to go back the next day to get the rest. I will not be going here anymore!!

Unfortunately I went today for brunch with my mother and I waited over 40 mins for a cup of green posole, her sandwich and an egg entrée. Very disappointing to see other big number of families who got there after us to get their food first. The posole was good but the dinosaur egg was not for me. Waitress could have been more attentive with our time and service. We still left her a tip but I don t think I would come back here. This is just my experience!

Marvelous food. The kindest, absolutely most service-oriented angels ever. I live in Houston, a culinary capital, and Scratch is better than anything I have experienced in Houston. So happy for this business. If I had a magic wand, I would see Scratch in all 50 states. Just a matter of time. Scratch would knock down the market, and absolutely capitalize on the sandwich game. We ordered chef salads with honey mustard dressing which didnt taste like honey mustard. Added grilled chicken because its separate and it didnt have any flavor and looked like boiled chicken not grilled at all. And our waitress was horrible. She took our order and brought our unsweetened teas with no sugars. Had to ask for them. And after she brought our salads she never came back until we waved her down to pay. And when we mentioned about our food that is was not good she replied well no one has ever complained which I found a bit rude.

Really sad to have to leave this review. But this is the second time in the last few months that Ive eaten here and gotten food poisoning. Its such a shame because I love it as a local business and I think the concept is so cool and we quite literally dont have anything close to it. But this last time was sadly my last. I cant keep getting sick off food :( Other than that the service was a little sketchy. We placed a to go order over the phone, had to repeat our order 4 times and then still almost was not given 1 of our items. The chef and the server argued in front of my partner about the soup belonging to our order which is just kind of unprofessional.

Called at 1030ish trying to place the order for pick up gentleman told me they opened till 11 but he would help me have my order by 11am which was really nice of him (I appreciate that ) then at 1050 called to add another grilled cheese and it was a different gentleman this time , he said yes I can add it but it would take a little longer which was fine ok let s do it! So then I get there to pay and I think it was the guy that answered me the 2nd time said that they don t do orders in advance for future reference so basically don t do it again ! But it s like man I wasn t even going to proceed ordering ! The first guy was nice enough to help me out and to have it ready by 11am , so this wasn t even my request to begin with ! And to top it off I get home and both of my grilled cheese sandwiches were all burned I wish I would have taken a picture of them ! Luckily for them I didn t , I still even apologize to the gentleman which I didn t have too cause I did nothing wrong and just turned his face away from me !! Very bad customer service!! Never again I promise you that!

So sad. The food is delicious. We have been regulars for over a year, until today. The problem is they do not know how to treat customers. (We consistently had subpar service but forgave it because of the food, but we can t stomach it anymore) The straw that broke the camels back? Today, they brought my food a good 10 minutes before my wife s. I will not eat in front of my hungry wife. When I told him my food was cold and to take it back, the excuses flowed about how long her particular food takes. I don t care how long it takes, get the timing right in the kitchen and recognize that polite men will wait for everyone at the table to get food. That is common restaurant practice and shouldn t have been a challenge. Skip the excuses and fix the kitchen. Teach your waitstaff how to be polite and communicate and maybe someday we can give you all a chance again. But for now, you lost real good customers.

The kitchen is infested with roaches previous employers have confirmed. The food(bread and chips) are put in containers and placed near the floor next the mop bucket & Cleaning supplies. This place is unsanitary and needs an inspection a very serious one.

Food is amazing the chilaquiles are 100% recommended. We always get really nice servers even when its packed. This is our to go place when we dont know what to eat. We usually come once a month. I wish I could give them a good review but not going to lie this is the blandest food Ive had in a restaurant. I had the flying pig sandwich or something like that and the chicken was really dry and had no flavor at all. Maybe if the added a bit of salt it would be good. My partner had the SS burger and it was atrocious. The meat was dry and bland. The food look beautiful but it is nasty. We also had the choriqueso fries and they tasted like nothing. How do you make cheese taste like nothing? The chorizo also made my stomach hurt. The chips were so bad and had no salt at all or flavor other than burnt. Fries tasted burnt too.

I ordered pancakes here and they came with some things I didnt want on the pancakes (to be fair that was my bad, I didnt specify I didnt want them) so I sent them back and they came back plain. While i was eating the pancakes I saw that one had a hair in it. Disgusted, I sent it back and when it came back, I checked to see if there any hairs. And they was ANOTHER HAIR underneath the pancake. Almost as if it were hidden. At this point I believed they may have even been doing this on purpose, just because I sent the first pancakes back for having strawberries and berries on it. Please dont come here, the employees are about as salty as a star bucks worker when they have to do their job 6 hours before their shift ends.

Horrible simply Horrible. The brisket sandwich was dry, the meat was tough and cold. Chicken strips were cold also the barbecue sauce was bitter. Fries came with both orders and they were Horrible as well... soggy and cold. Extremely disappointed and saddened that $28 was wasted.

Wow! We had valentines day dinner here and they did not disappoint. We ate traditional caesar salads with hearts of romaine and it was delicious and beautifully presented. There was a NY strip that was cooked perfectly to a medium rare with some sort of garlic crust and a mushroom risotto that was so delicious. For desert we had a lemon and caramel mouse with toasted almonds served in a glass mug that was done in layers. There was absolutely nothing missing. One of the best dinners Ive had in Laredo!

The music is always AMAZING. Please give a raise to whoever s on AUX on the weekends. The food is delicious and always steaming. I ve been a regular since I was in high school, so give or take, 10 years. Anytime I am in town, brunch at Scratch is obligatory. Definitely my favorite restaurant in town.

Everything was great! 2 concerns though. One, the strawberry daiquiri was horrible. I paid for it but didn t drink it, I took one sip and could not taste the strawberry at all. Second was the group of employees having a hangout by the bar and it made me uncomfortable to watch the TV that was behind the bar area where they were at.

Really good sandwiches. I got the When Pigs Fly. Great flavor and great bread, got the full sandwich with chips. Handmade chips that were very crispy. Wife got the Cuba Libre. It was good from the bite that I tried, only thing I would say would be an improvement for it would be if it was pressed. For me, thats part of makes a legit cubano. Kids got a grilled cheese and the grilled ham and cheese. The ham was really good quality. We also got the Choriqueso fries. They were really good as well and the fries have great seasoning on them (not exclusive to this dish, even the ones with the sandwiches come with the seasoning salt on them) and have a good texture. Parking: Limited parking but it wasnt super busy when I went. Kid-friendliness: Kids menu is inexpensive

Everything about this place is fantastic! The food, the service, the atmosphere, the mimosas! Just an FYI- the Google hours of 9am are incorrect. For now they open at 11am during the week and sometime in June they will begin to open at 10am. But for now 11am. Just so you re not excitedly waiting for your birthday breakfast and they re closed! Great lunch spot. I got the La Costa Nostra and upgraded my side of fries to the Crazy Fries. Both were delicious! The Chicken Buffalo Dip is another must - huge chunks of chicken and not too spicy. I left full but not a miserable, overeaten full. Would definitely come here at night for food and to take advantage of the full bar.

We were seated and waited 15 minutes before someone took our order. We were not given napkins or silverware. waitress and waiter were arguing who was going to take care of our table in front of us. They brought our food and we were not offer a refill on our drinks nor condiments. Our waiter never came to check on us. Just to bring the bill. The waiter and waitress passed by our table many times seeing we haven t touched our food waiting for someone to come by and asked if everything was ok This is the first time we come to this establishment and the last after this experience.

We have been here several times and its has always been a great experience. Their food is FRESH and I love that most of their items have a gourmet twist. Their servers are all well trained, we were greeted when we walked in. Food was brought in a timely manner and servers were attentive to our needs during our meal. The only thing they need to work is their customer service, the cashier is super rude,it was my first time picking up an order didnt know there was a name attached to the order all i was told was the phone number. So I gave her the number and she was making faces just cause you have a face mask doesnt mean we dont know what your doing she made faces like if i was STUPIED She kept saying well like i said what name is it under? Then she rolled her eyes and said in a very rude way whats the order! Like if Im wasting her precious time. I would have spoken to the manager but i was in a hurry to take the employees lunch back. Didnt get her name but she was wearing a black dress or shirt with yellow flowers. Like i said the food is great nothing bad to say about it totally recommend it but the customer service needs improvement.

I m a huge salad person and it s hard to find decent salads here, but this is one of my absolute favorite places to eat at! I love that it s conveniently close, but they offer delivery as well. I love this business for their ease of communication and them really taking care of their customers. Try the Chef Gone Crazy salad with their homemade cilantro lime dressing. Absolutely delicious. Surprised by the affordable price considering that they make everything from scratch (No pun intended). Great place to enjoy a healthy and unique restaurant experience in Laredo. Terrible service. Took 40 min to get our food which ended up being cold. They didn t have 2 of the 5 ingredients for our salad but I was still charged the full amount. The fries were disgusting. They were burnt and cold. Our sandwich was okay though, just cold and a bit soggy. Not worth the money!!!!!!

First time I came here, it was fine. I did go home feeling nauseous though but brushed it off and thought it wasn t the restaurant s fault. 2 days ago I went to go eat here with a friend and ordered the same thing I got the first time (Buffalo poppers), and a couple hours later, not eating anything at all since I left the restaurant, I started feeling nauseous. I threw up the whole night and wasn t able to hold anything down until 10 hours later. I m 100% confident it was because of the food. I was feeling fine the whole day before I went to the restaurant and did show up to the restaurant on an empty stomach as well so it was not anything I had eaten earlier because I did not eat before showing up. Not sure how clean this place this. I gave the stomach flu to my sister as well, the same night I came home.

Even though the food is pretty good, the last 3 times I went there, i felt like the waiters were rushing me to pay and leave. They are not always aware if youre out of soda or anything, sometimes I even wanted to stand up and ask the cashier directly to pour some more soda. But food is good though as I said.

I love the food from here, it s amazing. But on my last visit I couldn t enjoy my food as one worker by the name of Jesykah R. charged me for her mistake. She got my order wrong. The manager offered to replace, but in the end, I had to be charged because that s how it is. (As said by worker Jesykah R.).
