I got their egg foo young , it was different they served it with a mountain of veggies and shrimp a fried egg patty under neath all topped with a delicious gravy. I added their hit oil which is super hot which I love . The food was so savory and so many veggies they did not skimp the shrimp either. 10/10 I will be back. Im a very picky eater when it comes to Asian food but this far better than any other place Ive tried here in Laredo. A must try a true gem hidden in the desert I call home

Dishonest and unprofessional business. If you leave them a 1 star poor review they harass you, then block you if the review was on facebook. They also falsely claim their recipes are the same because the restaurant is the same, it is not however. The actual original Emperor Garden has not endorsed this business in any way shape or form, they have been reminded of this multiple times but insist on lying to customers to their face. I m not sure why they feel the need to overcharge the customers, perhaps they miscalculated prices since they re new at running the business. When I ate there the food was acceptable, no complaints there. Dishonesty about endorsement by the original Emperor Garden and overcharging for meals are my complaints. Again, this place is in no way linked to the original Emperor Garden.

Asked for orange chicken and general chicken, they ended up giving us double general chcine and it was way too bitter. Its also pricey 3 items, with fried rice and a few spring rolls was around 80. The fried rice wasnt great too Shrimp cashew my friend said was decent. It is large piece of chicken but that sauce was not for me and my friend.

I have been here a couple of times & on this visit, the food was a bit off. We ordered three separate dishes as we couldnt decide what to eat. The three dish sauces were very similar in taste. The Orange Chicken sauce is just ok, it was dark, and it had no sweetness to it. The dishes were well served. I will come back in hopes that it was the cook that was a bit off on his game today not actually the food that has lost its quality.

My son and I took my wife here for Mothers Day, her choice. This was our first time dining here. I was skeptical of the place after all the negative reviews and ratings. Our experience was a total contrast to those reviews. The restaurant was clean, orderly, spacious and plenty of staff working to wait on customers. The service was great, fast and friendly. The food was delicious, great flavor and their prices are very reasonable for the surprisingly large meal portions. We ordered the orange chicken with lomein, the beef and chicken lomein and the tso chicken lomein. We each ordered a plate, we shouldve ordered two plates instead and shared. Their egg rolls are ginormous and so good. Manager Eddie and his staff made us feel welcome, and he took the time to come to our table and asked how our food and service was. I complimented him on the quality and taste of the food and our waiter was very attentive and checked on us often. Being mothers day, they served my wife a delightful complimentary dessert. Do not be discouraged or misled by all the negative reviews and ratings you read online. Go see for yourself and make your own assessment. You will not be disappointed.

One star for lack of integrity. This place is emperors garden NOT EMPEROR GARDEN and is not connected to the original EMPEROR GARDEN in any way shape or form. I am confused that the owner would tell me , to my face, that the previous owner visits this restaurant to make sure everything is as the original restaurant used to be. There is no previous owner because this is not the same place, nor does it have the same name. There is a reason why it has a different name. What is the purpose of lying to the public? It is the service and the food that makes the customer want to return to a restaurant. I think it is great that you want to go out and try to make something work, lord knows restaurants are not an easy business. Just remember that a restaurants reputation is built on service and quality, not a name. If you want to be like EMPEROR GARDEN, you have to work like EMPEROR GARDEN, and that starts with creating something on your own, putting in an honest days work, and looking at the customer in the eye and saying I made this place, and it is only mine, no need to lie to get ahead. I ordered a spicy triple delight over the phone. When I began eating food I noticed food was not spicy. I contacted owner and she was upset that I called her to complain about my plate. When I went back to the restaurant to pick up the corrected order, the owner again was upset that I told her I was a paying customer and just wanted my plate to be correct. She continued arguing with me and told me she was not serving me and gave me my credit back. Bottom line here was to correct my plate and I would have been happy. Came to visit family in Laredo and they recommend this restaurant. I went online to order and to my surprise their prices are completely different from what they charge you. The worst part is that it isn t even $1-$2 more, it s $4-$5 more for each item. Online the egg rolls are listed at $5.95 and I was charged over $10. Then the manager suggested I ask for prices over the phone next time. I asked him why would I ask for prices if I m looking at their site? All he said was, I m sorry?

The to go order of emperors shrimp was the worst thing I ever had the broccoli was like something that was cooked a week ago the emperor balls were hard, dry and stale. The wantons in the soup were of a different color and soggy. The egg rolls were burnt, this is the worst meal I have had from this restaurant. This place was not what I expected, they advertise that they have the same cooks from the previous emperor garden, but the food is not good, at least for the price, we ordered The sweet and sour chicken, sesame chicken, a hot and sour soup and a calamari appetizer, the sweet and sour chicken looked good but it tasted like it was friend in old oil, then my husbands sesame chicken was soggy he only ate a piece and discarded the rest, the soup was good, the fried wonton it came with it was very greasy, the fried Calamari was returned, it was a 14 dollar appetizer for only 4 half pieces of calamari it s seemed like it was the left over of a previous order, when I brought it to the cashiers attention she said I am sorry , so I asked for a refund, at this point I should have asked for a refund for all my order. They also charge if you want fried rice instead on steamed rice. So my check was 57 in total minus the calamari. Not worth it in my opinion, I am giving it 3 starts because they did give me a refund in the Calamari.

I wish I could give this restaurant a higher rating. The service was great. It was my first time there, and I had 1 appetizer and 1 entree. Thats not much on which to form an opinion. Also, everyones opinion and preferences are different. I had the Lettuce wrap appetizer. The chopped meat lacked flavor, imo and they served it with very hot chili sauce only. It wasnt really a sauce at all, but a ton of chili Flakes in viscous, very hot liquid. Too hot for me. The General Tso chicken was cooked perfectly, and there was a lot of sauce. However, to me, it lacked flavor. Just my opinion. I really want them to succeed.

First time I tried this restaurant was throught a delivery order and I was very impressed with the taste and flavor of the food. Yesterday, my coworkers and I decided to go to this restaurant instead of ordering delivery. Its been several years since Ive been to the Emperor gardens when it was located on Carlton road. But since they moved we decided this past Sunday to go there for lunch after church. Let me tell you one of the best places to go eat Chinese food. They really really changed their methods in Chinese cuisine. The flavors are there in the atmospheres perfect. Its smaller than the other building, But the service is fantastic The appetizers are great and the main entrees are wonderful and the food is made to order and its not sitting out there like a buffet when it used to be. Crab puffs are excellent I would recommend that The hot and sour soup also the steamed dumplings. I had the combination lo mein noodles Oh my gosh so good. Hands down, one of the best Chinese restaurants in Laredo. The last time we went to Emperors Garden was when it was still a Buffet, which was acceptable but nothing impressive. The place is no longer offering buffet, but OMG I was impressed by the quality of food, the portions and the price. To drink we got Iced tea, which you can refill for free and as appetizer we got the Gyozas (steamed), they were soft and full of flavor (if you pour in a little bit of Chili oil, the flavor gets way better). Also we ordered the Cashew chicken, which was the perfect mix between salty and sweet, we enjoyed it a lot. Additionally decided to go for one of the vegetarian options in the menu (which apparently are vegan as well since they dont contain egg or dairy), the Szechuan Tofu was outstanding, even if youre not vegetarian, I highly recommend to try it, you wont be disappointed. The Szechuan Tofu comes with zucchini, carrots and green bell peppers, which makes the dish to be nutritiously balanced. All of the dishes were very well served in terms of portions, and every dish includes white rice. The service was pretty fast, the atmosphere was very peaceful, it felt even a bit romantic. The place looks clean and prices are accessible. Another thing worth to mention is that you can get a 2% of discount from the total ticket if you pay in cash. They also sell their Chili oil in big bottles for $20 or so. Well come back to try out the other dishes. Vegetarian options: They have a section in the menu for the vegetarian options, which very likely theyre vegan as well, since the protein used is Tofu. I fully recommend the Szechuan Tofu which apparently is what people tend to order a bit more, but Im pretty sure that their Mapo Tofu is very good as well.

Ordered three items for two of us, and found reasonable prices, generous portions, and flavor that is not very distant from their namesakes recipes. The servers could pay a little closer attention to what you are telling them, instead of trying to rush away before youre done, and then playing broken telephone down the line. But they truly try.

It could be better. My husband and I each got the lunch special with the sweet and sour chicken, egg drop soup, egg roll and rice. The serving size is okay for the price of 11.95, but the quality of the food could be way better. The fried rice was just a yellow rice with a few little veggies in it; didnt taste at all like fried rice. The egg drop soup had a weird metallic or medicine-like taste; not sure if it was from the soup or crunchy noodles. The chicken had a lot of gross, stretchy pieces in it. The egg roll was the best part.
