Let me begin by saying that my Mom has been a handful here lately However, I popped into today a little after noon and she was laying in bed with her feet dangling off the side. I got her up and made her go to lunch. Most of the others were finishing their meal when we got there. The attendant (I forget her name) told me I went in there twice and told her about lunch . Lunch = hot dog and waffle fries for memory care Lunch for A.L. was a beautiful chef salad

When we were looking for memory care for my wifes 89 year old second mom, we looked at a number of places before deciding upon Kyle Orchard Park. The choice of location was not made lightly as she has been a very important member of our family for years. However, we have only been overly pleased with the level of care and consideration that they have showed to her since entering the facility. The staff has been wonderful, as they keep us updated on her progress between visits. The place feels much more homey than other facilities that we had looked at and she is thriving! I am appalled by the experience my family had with Orchard Park. My father was a resident there, and the conditions were shocking. First and foremost, the staff shortages are disgraceful. It s clear that there are not enough caregivers to meet the needs of the residents, leading to neglect. My father often waited far too long for assistance, which was heartbreaking to witness. Even after a fall, they didnt know how long he was laying on the ground in pain because no one was around to check on him or know where he was. I visited my father every other day so Im aware how constantly the residents are left unsupervised constantly. Even more alarming was the lack of overnight care; there were times when residents were left unattended for hours. This is unacceptable for anyone, let alone vulnerable individuals. The food served at the facility is nothing short of disgusting. Meals were often unappetizing and lacked basic nutrition. It s appalling that a facility responsible for caring for our loved ones would provide such substandard meals. Its a weird thing to not be able to trust a place that is caring for your father would serve nutritious meals that were edible, there were some weeks where theyd serve a small half of sandwich as a meal for three times a week. There was also no activities for the residents as they advertise on their tour of the facility. They have a wall where they post the calendar of events posted but all the activities are tentative and they never happen. After multiple conversations with staff and administration, it was still very rare to see any activities going on in the facility. To top it all off, after my father s passing, the administration completely ignored our family. Not one person reached out to check on us or offer condolences. This lack of empathy and professionalism is unforgivable, and this is coming from a very involved family in which my mother visited every single day and I was there every other day, so we knew the staff and administration very well. The caregivers themselves are great and try their best in a tough job with shortages but there is a lot of problems with orchard park, and Im speaking to the memory care side. I cannot recommend Orchard Park to anyone. Families deserve much better for their loved ones, and the management s indifference to residents and their families is truly disgraceful. Please seek a facility that genuinely cares for its residents and has more resources available.

I have been sharing a Music hour with Orchard Park residents every Tuesday for the past four years. We have printed sets of music that cover 7 decades: Hymns, Patriotic Songs, Oldies and Goodies, Christmas Songs, and Western and Broadway Melodies, so we vary our 60 minutes each week. There are about 12-14 participants.We also concentrate on posture, deep breathing & a little body movement to the rhythm. Sharing the hour also means that I get as much or more out of this lovely group as I put in. We often share a story or two between songs. Our average number of songs ranges from 15-20 during our 60 minutes. Teresa is a wonderful activities director and usually has popcorn & juice waiting. Today I brought tiny 2.5 oz cups of home-churned Buttermilk ice cream to snack time, so we had an extra treat. It brought back past memories to share. My Chapel in the Hills Ladies Guild in Wimberley, where I have directed and played 52 years, answered my plea for funds for a new electric piano for Orchard Park three yrs ago. It is a real blessing in that it will transpose to more comfortable keys for older voices. It is my joy and pleasure to share my love of music with these Orchard Park residents. We went to see a relative and we couldnt see her and the manager Kim chased us away and told us to leave or shell talk to the police. Thats not the way to miss people leaving in the first place when we werent doing anything wrong just waiting in the waiting room. but we are already seeing everything with the FBI

My Father-in-law just moved into Orchard Park of Kyle. We have found all the staff to be very friendly. When we were looking at places, Tina, the Community Relations Director took us on a tour of the facility. She is very knowledgeable, warm and great to work with. You can tell she really cares about the residents. She went above and beyond in helping us get our questions answered and the paperwork completed in time since we were having to move him the day after a holiday.

Specifically want to commend the staff and especially, Tina, the Community Relations Coordinator, on how accommodating they were during the admission process for my Mom. We live 3 hours away, so being able to complete all the paperwork and assessments remotely/virtually was a huge help. I couldn t have asked for a better experience and am so thankful for the attentive support from Tina as well as the entire team upon move in. Everyone made a point to come introduce themselves as we were moving her in and it seemed as though they really enjoyed their jobs and genuinely care for the residents & the facility. Orchard Park was the cleanest and friendliest place I checked out. Tina and the staff have done everything they can to making the move for my mother the most pleasant experience. My mother is adjusting wonderfully and I believe it is all due to the staff. They put their heart into loving each person in their care. I haven t run into a frown yet. I have worked in senior living facilities for many years, and I can really appreciate how well this facility is run. The staff is friendly and caring, and they go out of their way to make sure that the residents are happy and comfortable. The dedicated management team are incredibly responsive and willing to step out of their departments and assist anywhere they are needed. My husband and I recently made the decision to bring my 92 year old Mother-in-law from Florida to Texas to live. I visited 7 Assisted Living Centers in one week. I was give a tour by Tina and throughout the tour I became more and more impressed with her. She was the ONLY person from all 7 of the Centers that I visited that could answer every single question I had. The atmosphere is very classy, yet thoroughly homey and inviting. The layout and configuration of the building is so well thought out for elderly people, which makes it easy to navigate. The food is delicious and served as if the residents are going out to eat every meal. The activity calendar is amazing .there are many choices every single day to entertain and stimulate the residents minds. Teresa, the activity director, is such a bubbly, caring and innovating person. She truly loves her job and the community of people she is in charge of. Every single resident I have met is alert, friendly and so easy to talk to. It is obvious everyone is getting their needs met, both socially, nutritionally and cognitively. My Mother-in-law has been a resident for just a week, as of today and has already immersed herself in the programs, which we were pretty leery of, since she has been by herself with very few visitors for over two years. Tina has helped us in every single step of the way, going above and beyond with every detail of moving in and getting settled. She was made for this position and we are so thankful we found Orchard Park. We have 3 different Assisted Living Centers in our own little town, where we could have been less than a mile from, if that was our objective. Instead, we chose for her to be in a place that truly is it s own productive interacting community. And a place where the staff knows exactly what they are doing. I would like to give special kudos to Caregivers Jay and Anna who have gone out of their way to help and assist me and my Mother-in-law with several different situations. These situations were not their particular duties or areas to work in, but they didn t hesitate to come to our aid with a genuine caring heart and a much needed helping hand.

They set up a very successful Cinco De Mayo festival that had a salsa competition for residents, staff, and visitors to enjoy. Their facility was clean and filled with happy workers. My father was in the Memory Care community for a year and half. It started off as a good experience but after complete turn over in management and staff, I had to move him to another facility because he was basically being ignored. There were no activities for Memory Care, staff would routinely ignore needs, room was not cleaned regularly and a lot of his clothes went missing. I understand they have had yet another turn over in management after he left. Do not put your loved one here. Too many problems that seem to stem from the top down.

Orchard Park has exceeded my expectations and more! When my dads health declined last year, I knew I couldnt provide the care my dad needed at home. As a practicing Nurse Practitioner, I did not take this decision lightly. I spent time researching communities that I felt would meet his medical needs and offer amenities and a lifestyle he was accustom too. As a former employee of Orchard Park, I can said that this was one of the best establishments I have worked at during my career as a cook. The kitchen was immaculate and the staff surrounding me was very hard working and driven. I would recommend this job to any cook, and also highly recommend the facility to any person in need of assisted living. The menu was fun and seasonally driven. When a resident had a birthday or anniversary the kitchen would always make them feel special. And, if you are a person like me, that makes me happy too. The staff outside of the kitchen would always go above and beyond for the residents. The management there is always on top of what needs to be taken care of and will do anything to accommodate the residents. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and from the residents I got to know sounded like they enjoyed being there too. This place is a great place to work and a great place to take care of your loved ones.

The Executive Director Glen Gillum gave me a tour of the Orchard Park assisted living community. I along with my 7 siblings are looking at options for my 90 year old mother. My dad recently began behaving differently than I d ever seen him behave. He was verbally aggressive and extremely confused. I wasn t sure what was going on. I called Orchard Park of Kyle and spoke with Deanna. She was very kind and compassionate. She suggested we start by taking my dad to his doctor and she offered to be a resource for me. We are not ready for assisted living, but I feel like Deanna is someone I can talk to to help guide me through this journey when that time comes. My mom is really independent, but when she was to be recovering from surgery, we knew she would need more care than I could provide at home. I reached out to Orchard Park to learn more about their Respite Care. They were exactly what we needed. The staff were very caring and friendly, and Deanna answered all my questions and made me feel at ease. She walked me through the process for a seamless transition. When the time comes that mom needs assisted living full time, Im moving her to Orchard Park of Kyle. Its nice knowing they care about my mom as much as I do!

I have worked at Orchard Park of Kyle for a little over four months, and I am still blown away by something every single day. I have never worked for a management team that helps each other and builds each other up like this one. Our staff sees that and responds in kind, too. The best example of this was during the winter storm. We had several staff members and most of our management team stay here 24 hours a day for the entire week to ensure our residents were taken care of and safe. We faced many challenges that week, as did the entire state, and we worked endlessly to keep our residents at ease. We never missed a meal time, conducted hourly hydration rounds, continued our activities to keep our residents entertained, and kept smiles on our faces the whole time. Several residents commented that because we were still smiling and joyful, they were as well. Attitude reflects leadership, and that week was a testament to our amazing Executive Director, Glen Gillum. People can say they care about their residents, but here at Orchard Park of Kyle, we SHOW we care about our residents. They put smiles on our faces, joy in our hearts, and a spring in our steps. I was very happy with my visits to Orchard Park. It is a beautiful community, it s well maintained. I met so many residents who were happy and outgoing. They told me how nice the employees are and how much they love living there. Nothing better than hearing what it s like to live in an assisted living straight from the seniors who live there. Deanna and Glen were warm, caring and helpful. They spent a lot of time with me to understand what I was looking for. They introduced me to employees and I was really impressed. I m sold!

We moved my mom into Orchard Park of Kyle in November 2020, this was a difficult time due to the pandemic. The transition from one facility to another could not have gone more smoothly, all paperwork had been completed prior to this day with the executive administrator (Glen), was a good idea! During the holidays visitation was limited due to the pandemic, they were trying to keep all the residents safe and healthy. On Christmas Day everyone who wanted to visit their loved one was welcomed to visit outside on a bench/chair, the executive administrator (Glen) was making sure everyone was warm enough with blankets and a place to sit and ofcourse, social distancing with a mask on. This act of kindness was so heartwarming. All the residents at Orchard Park of Kyle always look happy, and well cared for. I could not say enough good things about everyone at OPOK!!! Id like to give a BIG SHOUT OUT to the few staff I know... My mom is in the advanced stages of Dementia and it was time for us to put her in a memory care community. Its obviously a very hard and emotional decision for the family members to make but necessary nonetheless. From the first step of this process Orchard Park of Kyle has been truly wonderful! They understand the anxiety families go through during this time and are very compassionate. The atmosphere at Orchard Park is very pleasant and upbeat. Very loving community! They offer activities geared to the residents needs. They provide my mom with 24/7 care. A nurse practitioner comes every Monday to assess mom. They are in constant contact with us providing updates. My mom has been there now for 4 months. Due to the COVID pandemic we have not been able to visit as much but they have provided ways for us to see/communicate with her. Every time we have visited mom shes smiling, she looks very well kept, she looks happy! The staff is so loving and caring!! I cannot say that enough! They have made comments to me we love your mom!. I can see that in how my mom relates with the staff. As a daughter, that means so much!! We couldnt have asked for a better memory care community. I would highly recommend Orchard Park of Kyle!

Why I would recommend this loving community to anyone and everyone who has a love one that needs some help. I may not have any family members that are here yet but I ve been working here for over a year and love it. All the residents I am close to and get to know them on a personal level way more than my grandparents. I see them here as my own grandparents and how I treat them is how I want my own family to be treated. This community has everything that anyone would need. We can work with any allergies for food. Any medication that needs to be taken. Also any changing that is needed. We make sure that everyone is comfortable and happy. That s why I love this job.

From moment one of entering this facility to discuss options for a lady/friend for whom I had been a caregiver, I was impressed. The staff at the front followed all current COVID-19 protocol, which assured us that safety was of utmost importance. We were greeted warmly and given as much time as was needed to make our decision. We were given a thorough tour of the facility that did not feel like the other assisted living facilities we had toured. It felt like home. Everyone we came across had a genuine smile on their face, and it made our decision easy. This is a fabulous place, and I highly recommend it. I did suggest it to a friend of mine in the same situation. They also saw the high-quality level and signed up to move their significant other into one of the units. The meals were well thought out not only for nutritional needs but also for taste. We witnessed many fun activities taking place, and all the residents were engaged. The unit was entirely ADA accessible, and safety measures were added to avoid falls. Any time we had a concern or question, the response was immediate. The most important part of this equation is that my 93-year-old friend was happy and content, said all her needs were being met and said it felt like home to her.

Deanna exceeded expectations while assisting us in navigating the transition from independent to assisted living. Orchard Park will provide a safe and caring environment for your loved ones.
