Traveling from Dallas Texas to visit some family in San Antonio we decided to stop here and buy some roasted free range chicken to take home to our family and for the first time try this chicken that for us is a delicious chicken very juicy and fresh, but what a surprise this chicken was not juicy fresh and hot like in Dallas Texas, but was very dry and cold, it was chicken from the day before the one they sold us! We ordered 20 pieces to take home to our family and some pieces of chicken were cold and others hot. Also the flavor was not rich or juicy like the one we bought in Dallas Texas, what a disappointment for us and the whole family! We will definitely not buy chicken from here again!

Campero Chicken,Kyle,Tx Subject: Complaint Regarding Order and Refund on September 2, 2024 Dear Campero Chicken, I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with my recent dining experience at your restaurant on September 2, 2024. I ordered a 4-piece chicken breast and wings combo and was informed by your employee, Joel, that it would be prepared shortly. After waiting for an hour and a half, Joel informed me that they were out of chicken breasts. I was surprised as I had already been waiting for quite some time. Joel then offered me a plate of chicken thighs as a replacement, promising a refund and a free meal voucher. Upon finishing my meal, I approached Joel to request the refund. However, he informed me that the system was down and that I could return another day to receive the refund. Today, September 10, 2024, I returned to the restaurant to follow up on the refund. Joel asked his colleague, Marco, to assist me. Marco took my name and phone number and stated that someone would contact me to ask a few questions before processing the refund. I explained that I had traveled a significant distance to the restaurant and that Joel had assured me the refund would be issued immediately. I am extremely disappointed with the overall experience and the lack of resolution to this issue. I expect a prompt and full refund for the inconvenience caused. Went through the drive thru, first time ever here. They dont list what drinks they offer on the menu except for the three flavored teas. Somehow youre expected to know what drink to order through telepathy. Only sugar free drink is Diet Pepsi. Cups and lids are terrible. He handed me the drink that was covered in Diet Pepsi spillage. I asked for a napkin and as I was wiping down the sides, the lid came off and it spilled everywhere. Worker just looked at me and shrugged. Wont ever be returning.

Our first visit. It looked interesting so we tried some of their famous chicken. I got a spicy chicken, yucca fries and drink. The wife got the 6 piece chix nugget, Cole slaw and drink. We received the food quickly. My chicken was ok but cold. The yucca fries were also cold and quite chewy. Yucca was tough and spices on chicken was weak. The nuggets were also unimpressive. My mother in law ordered a family pack around 4pm and when I went to pick up her order around 5pm, I was informed it was already picked up but neither of us picked up the food. The manager at the time gave us nothing but attitude so I called my mother in law so that she could discuss the matter with the manager. After going back and forth, I hope the manager realized the issue was on them not checking on who picks up online orders and verifying that the pick up person is the right person. After even more attitude, they remade the order, threw the bag down on the counter and walked away without saying a word. Food was great but customer service needs improvement. I would also advise that Apollo Campero reevaluates who they appoint as manager because that was not an appropriate way to handle the matter.

I keep giving Pollo Campero a try and I keep getting disappointed. I thought at first it was because they had recently opened but the quality of chicken is not great. Growing up in Latin America and having eaten Pollo Campero in Houston, Dallas and Austin- the Pollo Campero in Kyle tastes NOTHING like real pollo Campero. It is very odd. This is not Pollo Campero. I had their coleslaw today which I usually love and unless they have recently changed the recipe, it was completely different, not in a good way. Overall, disappointed with this location. If you want to have real Pollo Campero don t expect to find it here.

We had been wanting to try out Pollo Campero since it opened. We went in for a quick relaxed dinner and ordered a 3 piece with side of plantains, the empanadas, and a salad. Two of the three chicken pieces were pretty good. For some reason, the third, not so much. The plantains lacked flavor, as did the empanadas. We had never had yucca fries so I cant say if they were good or not, but salt helped. The salad was so so at best with minimal dressing provided. ( I dont use a lot but the amount given was definitely not enough) There was some good though. Real plates and silverware. The horchata was pretty good. The service was OK. The tables and restaurant were clean as well. We will be trying this place out again in a few months...maybe. For now, well go elsewhere.

Lets start with the food- the grilled chicken was soaked in oil and was undercooked. Empanada tasted like bad mayo and pickles. Fried plantains - you cant get those wrong right? Wrong. The food is absolutely delicious! I have heard complaints that the price may be high, but you get what you pay for. I have never eaten in, only ordered via drive thru. The window server is adequate but never very friendly or offers any suggestions. But I dont want this restaurant to go away! its very high quality and really good. The chicken smelled good but ugh the taste of chicken was stale and super dry! Had no pollo campero taste-flavoring just super dry. I only went twice the first 50 minutes waiting for a piece of chicken with beans and rice other than that the raw chicken had blood the meat the second time I went something similar 45 minutes the lady who was at the register said I had to leave the place the chicken never came out I decided not to return it was an ugly experience in this place

Best fast food chicken in town. Ordered the chicken sandwich with beans, two pieces fried, with plantains and an extra Mac and cheese. Everything was better than any other fast food restaurant in town. The chicken had a nice crunch and the patty on the sandwich was larger than a chick-fil-a sandwich. Sandwich had 6 thick pickles and I added Cholula on the second in half which only improved it. The best beans in Kyle. The Mac and cheese was, again, delicious beating other fast food restaurant mnc by a mile. Fried chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I did not try the plantains but my wife said they were good. She didnt really have a comparison as she wasnt aware of any other plantains in town. The service was extremely welcoming and friendly. We didnt feel rushed as we looked over the menu. The restaurant is clean and the only complaint I had was the music was a bit loud. Nothing ear shattering, but was a little intrusive on our conversation. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the Kyle, TX area.

Old food from a new restaurant. My wife and I just got 2 spicy chicken sandwich meals that were both room temperature at best. They were hard, chewy, and dried out, but hey, at least I had some cold french fries to eat also. After getting a gift card from management, we decided to give these guys another try because we were never going to go back otherwise. I got the fried chicken and my wife got the nuggets. The food was actually really good this time. I was quite pleased and would probably say it was the best fried chicken in Kyle. Keep up the quality, and I will come back again.
