Went here on a whim after smelling it while we picked up pie from Texas Pie Co. on Saturday. Let me tell you: the aroma did not lie. The brisket was DELICIOUS. We ordered 3 sandwiches and they were packed full with brisket. My mom and I could have split one. The barbecue sauce was perfectly flavored and the spicy one was just that, SPICY. But the star of the show was the banana pudding. To be able to overshadow the brisket, it has to deliver and it sure did. Be sure to ask to keep it in the fridge and pick it up at the end of your meal. IT S ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. I wish I took photos for yall but honestly the food was gone in .5 seconds so the phone did not eat first.

Duuude.. this is some of the best Q Ive had, and Im a 50 year Texan. Stopped off on my way back to SA from Austin to the super convenient location. Had the simple chopped sandwich and a sausage link. Both were excellent!! Got my food in about 3 minutes.. Highly recommend. P.s. open up shop in SA Mr. Bloodworth!

The barbecue we got was excellent, but we took it to go - which means it wasnt til we got home that we realized the pulled pork we ordered and paid for wasnt in the bag. Theres no phone number to call so we couldnt sort it out easily and its a bit of a trip for us. LOVE the food we got but being charged for a full order of meat we dont have is not ok.

Easily the best BBQ my fiancé and I have had in Texas. We ordered a Dino rib, sausages, pulled pork sandwich and pasta salad. Everything was consistent with flavor, smoky, moist and slow cooked. Bloodworths house BBQ sauce is delicious and tangy with flavor. The spicy version of the BBQ sauce has a good heat that complimented the food but not overpower the rest of the flavor. 10/10 recommend the Dino rib! The flavor, the fat, the texture, the char, the smokiness- and it falls off the bone. Staff was friendly and Thomas (owner) came out to check on how our food was and introduce himself. There s an outside canopy with mist and fans that keep it comfortable to eat outside even with the hot summer weather. Good luck with y all s business and thanks for incredible BBQ!!

Bloodworth BBQ fills the Brisket-shaped hole left behind by Milts Pit BBQ. Seeing as that was my first job and Bloodworth is right next to the old building, I was excited to have hometown BBQ back in Kyle and the atmosphere left me nostalgic. After trying it, I can say that I throughly enjoyed my time! The staff all appeared nice and welcoming and the food came out quick! Its nice to have a new food option Downtown and I hope this is a sign of more food truck/stand activity in the future. The food quality is good! The Brisket was cooked for the perfect amount of time. Perfectly moist, just how I like it! I do wish that the Brisket and potato salad I had was a seasoned just a bit more, but other than that, I was very pleased with my food. If you enjoy good BBQ and want to support a good local business, I recommend checking out Bloodworth BBQ at least once or twice. I hope they continue to grow and I definitely will be returning to try their Sausage and Macaroni!

For a brand new BBQ place, this joint is AMAZING. Thomas smokes all his meats on site in a screened in area so you can see exactly what he does. All the meats are really juicy and tender. Laticha runs the inside and I have to say that both Laticha and Thomas are super nice. Everyone needs to check them out at least once but I guarantee you WILL be back!

Ok, I finally had to give this one go. I tend to be a BBQ snob and do like a little bold flavor with my brisket. I was impressed that the brisket was not over seasoned. I was on the fence about the whole lack of season crust on the brisket. I was impressed it was not over powering with salt and pepper (a la Franklins BBQ... his rub is 50/50 salt and pepper.) Nice that you used the smoke to do the talking in terms of flavor. I had first been on the fence about a BBQ Sandwich without sauce. I have always said good BBQ does not need sauce. The sandwich was mix of lean and fatty bits. It was over over powering and the bun they used had a nice chew to it. Unlike some of the big box stores BBQ that uses their own brand of hamburger buns, this was a nice touch. The potato salad had that homemade taste to it and as not over bearing with mustard or pickle. Overall, it was a pleasant surprise. I am curious to try some of their other items they had on the menu. It was a quick trip to stop in, order and you were on your want. It is definitely worth a stop.

Great bbq, so tender and flavorful! The pork ribs are amazing as well. They are cooked just right with a really good rub on them. The chopped brisket sandwiches are huge with lots of meat on them! First...I live in Lockhart, officially christened the BBQ Capital of Texas. We have six...SIX bbq places here. Some of it is so-so. Some of it is pretty good. Lemme tell ya...Thomas Bloodworth does one heck of a job and outshines any of the places here by miles! First visit was a pulled pork sandwich with drink and chips. BBQ sauce, pickles, and onions are all served on the side but in my excitement to finally get to try it, I ran off without all that. It doesnt need it. The pork was so tender and moist (ick I hate that word but there isnt a replacement lol). Amazing flavor and HUGE. Definitely not skimpy on the meat. Next trip I got the pulled brisket. This time I did grab all the fixins. Drizzled just a little bit of sauce but like the pork, didnt need it at all. Ended up eating the pickles and onions by themselves...lol Do yourself a flavor favor and GO SEE BLOODWORTH BBQ in Kyle!

The Bloodworth family is wonderful. You re supporting a local family business when you eat here. The food is always great. Ive been eating Bloodworth BBQ since I moved to Kyle. I consider myself somewhat of a brisket snob, and this is the best brisket Ive ever had, literally. Before they had a storefront, Id buy a few pounds at a time and freeze it, so I could have it anytime I wanted. Now I just stop by on Saturday or Monday for some. All the meats are great, and also the sides, though Im a little partial to that yummy, creamy mac and cheese! When they start churning out the jerky again, you gotta try it...delicious! I ve had BBQ in various parts of the country, but the best BBQ I ve ever had is at Bloodworth s. I have had the Brisket on more than one occasion, both by the pound and in sandwich form as well as the Sausage. Their Facebook posts will make your mouth water and once you have tried the Brisket, just seeing a picture has that effect on me. I have gone to buy this great BBQ even when I was not initially planning to, just by seeing a glimpse of their post saying they are open with their mouth watering photos. You won t regret it. I recently visited this restaurant on a Sunday when they were unusually open. I ordered a pound of brisket and a pound of pulled pork. The pulled pork was absolutely delicious and I really appreciated the fact that the Texas-style sauce was not on the meat itself. The brisket was also very flavorful and moist, but some portions had a bit too much salt on the cap, which a couple of people noticed. However, this was only on a few portions and not throughout the meat. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place and would love to visit again on a Saturday night. Tried the chicken sausage brisket 16oz slaw & potato salad. All was amazing. $52 for three of us was not bad at all especially for really good bbq. Lots of picnic tables. Parking is no issue at all then walked a few doors down to get a Pecan Pie & a Coconut Pie. Be aware they are open Saturdays & Mondays only. I will be there both days this weekend.
