When did you guys change the meat you use? Ive been coming to black meg since I was 8 years old, and its always been a quality burger. Last time I came in, the consistency was like... Playdough. Easily one of the worst burgers Ive ever had, and Im not at all picky.

Ive been here about six or seven times the first time I came was the best time. Food with spectacular and then it seems that its Hit or Miss after that. I didnt like that one time I came in an hour before they closed and they wouldnt let me use the restroom they said it was locked an hour before they close which is ridiculous cuz Im eating there and I have to go outside to urinate by the dumpster. Also several times Ive came they gave me the wrong order. So check your stuff before you leave

Ive heard so much hype about this place, been here 4-5 times and gotten different things, always a bad or mediocre experience...I dont get it!? As of today my order was a burger and cheesesticks, the bun was wet and soggy, couldnt eat it like that bc it was just mush and the cheese sticks were cold, no pull...basically a waste of my money and Im done giving them a chance at this point.

The hamburgers dont taste like they used to. They used to taste like real ground beef, now it seems to be shaped into some type of formed Patty and doesnt taste like a real burger at all. The fried Zucchini was mushy, very greasy, and the crust slid off every piece before you could even put it in your mouth. The sweet tea tastes watered down, and restaurant was not very clean in the dining area.

Update: This was 2 years ago. I did go back a couple of times after the employers had changed. It s not better. Their lemonade is like lemon water. The fries are over seasoned and the burgers are dry if you don t all for a fresh patty. The prices are decent. Ordered this with extra cheese and got an attitude from the huge, gray haired old lady with a fade in the kitchen while the little black man was trying to fix it after he couldnt find cheese either. She snatched the ticket from him and approached me like Im supposed to be intimidated over some cheese and then she lied about insignificant stuff saying @aint no Hispanics ever worked there. LIES. Ive patronized this business for 10 and I know whos served me in the past. I cant. You lie about insignificant things youll lie dealing with food, sanitation, etc. I cant. They need to give me my $28 so I can top off my gas. This is NOT a Philly CHEESE Steak...wheres the cheese?

Went with my family yesterday around 8, got 4 cheese burgers. Thought it was really cute they had games to play while waiting. But the guy at the register was short and dismissive when trying to orderer, which everyone has there off days I guess. The burgers were kinda dry, and the fries had barely any seasoning or salt on them okay price for what we got. The reason I will never go back though is because it gave my entire family food poisoning so we spent our Sunday at urgent care.

Ordered steak and cheese and upgraded to onion rings and they were very uncooked, thought would give them another chance but failed asked for extra mushrooms on the steak sanzeewedwich and it already comes with them paid a extra $1.75 and got a total of 5 mushrooms on the sandwich and a lot less steak on our steak sandwiches just lost our business guess they didnt like me telling them we got bad onion rings first time and order was almost $40 never again.

I stopped here for lunch with my wife and kids. It was a great experience. I had the double meat with bacon, my wife had the burger with avocado, my kids had the hot dogs and we shared a shake and fried pickles. The food was fantastic, the employees were great.

Parking lot could use a make-over. Inside could use some modernization. That stuff matters for this review. Keep the food hot & fresh, keep seasoning the cheeseburgers and fries+full flavored drinks, keep the place as clean as possible, and its all good with me. We liked the old-school/local atmosphere at the Cove location. Really cute Christmas decorations inside. Guy at the register was friendly and efficient. We both had burgers, fries, drinks. This has been my go to burger place in Killeen for quite a while now. I always order through Uber eats. I have ordered their small hamburger meal a few times. But today was the first time that I received what can only be a joke! I looked at this biscuit size Burger and almost went up to the location to see if this was a mistake. But I realized it wasnt a mistake the quality of the food has just come to this. While the prices for most of their burgers are extremely overpriced, to know that they are pushing this meal as a small meal instead of a kids meal is deceiving. Like I said Ive ordered the small meal numerous times and received a regular size bun and patty which was to be expected. But today I had to measure what I received in my Uber eats order because I couldnt believe my eyes. Now to the french fries its very clear in this photo these fries arent fresh at all. Initially my orders would stand out! I have even called up to the restaurant to compliment how well the food taste and the presentation and the size of the meals for the price. Ive been told there are a lot better burger places to patronize and Killeen but Ive been very faithful to Black megs from my first time ordering burgers. But after todays order Im definitely looking at other options.

What Happened To Black Megs? Returned back to Texas from a work trip after being out of the state for two months. Was totally excited to get me my usual Black Meg meal with bacon, grilled onions and extra sauce (tator tots with Meg sauce on the side.) Had it delivered via Door Dash(DD) and delivery was quick and reasonably priced. The food quality has gone downhill tremendously. The tator tots have a horrible, old- grease taste to them and are soft/squishy despite being dark in color. Definitely going to toss them, but its a shame as I paid $1 each for the Meg sauce on DD to dip them in. The Black Meg??? This is NOT a Black Meg! The burger is edible but not delicious like it use to be. The meat is different. It tastes cheap and has absolutely no seasoning (Im not even sure theres salt on the patties.) The bun too is different, cant quite put my finger on it but it tastes way different than I remember it. Again its okay, but not the same quality. The Meg sauce was good but the bacon wasnt cooked fully and my burger didnt have the grilled onions (I paid for.) All-in-all, I gave a 3 star rating because its not a bad place to eat, but its not a great place anymore. I understand with inflation that many smaller places have been hit financially hard, but I hope the quality of food doesnt go any further downhill.

I order food for the salon the potatoes and I went the other day and spent 40 dollars on just 2 potatoes and they were a complete let down so I called to let someone know how I felt and I was told they did there part and that was all I won t be ordering potatoes ever again

The vegetables on the burger were so fresh and the burger itself had something about it that really took it the extra mile. I really recommend trying this as a summer lunch meal and getting the burger with the cactus jam.

The burgers are great! Steak and cheese was great and so were the beer-battered fries and regular fries. Had we only got it to go we might have given it 5*. Service inside was slow and a bit unorganized and the floors are extremely greasy and dirty. It feels like they spilled dirty fryer oil all over the ground and mopped it with a dirty mop. Check the bottom of your shoes before you get back in your car because itll get all over your floor mats.
