Food was ok. I ordered the Greek plate and nothing stood out as fantastic just the very bare minimum boxes checked. Service was good but the bar and restaurant looked a little rundown. All said and done good enough for a quick bite but dont expect a true authentic Greek flavor.

Ive always loved this place. We drove two hours out of our way going back to Alabama. Arrived around 2. We waited at the hostess stand for over ten minutes. I even walked to the bar. Nobody ever came out from the back. There was a couple seated up front and people outside. I was very disappointed. I have raved about this place for years to my friends. Another couple entered and left when they saw us standing there waiting. This was Friday afternoon, June 21. Please keep your eyes on the front.

We had not been to Bakkhus since pre-COVID, Ill start there. We went on a Friday night, 7:30ish, which we thought would be lively, not being, was just fine with me. We sat inside due to wanting to watch the Astros vs Rangers game. They had it on behind the bar, the other TV had a cooking show, which they would not turn to the game. Ok, their perogative, their place. We knew then we would leave after eating anyway, its cool. The service was great! Very attentive. We cannot remember her name, young, short, blonde. Ok, now for the food, HUGE disappointment but I will take some of the blame on myself. I ordered the 2 beef shish k bobs, lemon potatoes, onion rings. I neglected to mention I preferred the meat medium rare. This is my go to dish there and I have NEVER had to specify medium rare, just came that way. The meat came out EXTREMELY dried out and medium well, grilled veggies were great but the potatoes were extremely over salted and lacked lemon flavor. They used to be perfect, tender and full of flavor. These were so dry, like they were cooked earlier, a lot earlier and reheated. The onion rings were great. My husband had the gyro plate. His meat was like cardboard, so dry. The French fries were just not the same as years before, dry. Pita bread was great. We should have seen it as a red flag that there were only seven other guests there which includes the three at the bar. I remember this used to be a very happening place with a waiting list. I know it is post Beryl but folks are begging for places to go to. I have gone to 3 other places this week and chose to sit at the bar or take out due to the waiting lines. Overall, very disappointed. Worse $60, plus tip, which she deserved, however, we have wasted in a long time. We will not be returning anytime soon.

Atmosphere does not meet the high prices. The owner does not feel that customer needs out weigh his business smarts..... based on certain condiments not being available. Servers are argumentative but try to be nice in their own special Kenah way..... not to dissimilar from other places in this area. Disappointing, as this place has a lot of potential!!!

Crawfish here was 5.99lb ! It was spicy and needed more flavor. But it was okay. The Parmesan fries are so good and crunchy. Ribeye was so good. We spent roughly $160 for a family of 5. Good place to eat

My wife ordered the grilled shrimp and when we got our food the server said she will get us water refills and come back, My wife tried the shrimp and it tasted like ammonia we waited for the server to come back with the water and tell her about the bad shrimp, we waited for 15 minutes and then I got up to find her and she was sitting at the bar I told her about the shrimp she said shell bring us a menu if she wanted to order something else, she finally came with the water refill and the menu and took the bad shrimp and didnt come back for another 20 minutes by that time it was about closing time so we didnt order anything else. She never apologized for the bad food neither did the manager come out and talk to us.

First visit. The food was great. I had the souvlaki and my companion had the ribeye. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. I knocked one star off for atmosphere because its small and there doesnt seem to be any effort to decrease sound levels so even one large party laughing and talking loudly can make conversation difficult. Ive eaten in much noisier places, such as anywhere in NYC. Overall, I think its a great place. I want to try their brunch.

I have eaten here when invited by friends. I have never had a good meal I ordered a prime rib sandwitch this past week it was Disgusting full of gristle and the meat was tough. I ordered a salmon plate several months ago and the fish.was over cooked dried out and not ediable. The only reason I go is to Socialize with my crawfish eating friends I would never go or take anybody there to have an actual meal. Is overpriced for the quality. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We stopped by for a simple dinner in Monday night. The restaurant was almost empty and the dinner took 2 hours due to extremely slow service. I eventually had to get up and get my own condiments from the server station because the server would never come by our table. Visited from Thailand with my sister, intending to enjoy some cocktails and order a few small snacks. However, the term small seems misleading for Thais, as its practically impossible. We ended up ordering steak and soup. We was amazed by the incredibly delicious taste of the food here. Great service The waitress was super friendly and helpful. Introduced us to the town and told us which places we should visit. Unfortunately, the food sucked. The Greek festival platter was the worst. They probably warmed it up in the microwave because some parts were cold. Nothing tasted fresh other than souvlaki, which was only ok. Gave a pretty generous tip since its the New Year. Hopefully, she didnt have to share with the kitchen.

This restaurant has amazing Greek food and a lot of it as well. The kabobs are filled with chunks of meat and lots of veggies. Make sure you get the lemon potatoes because they are mouth watering. This is your go to place lunch or dinner. Bring a furry friend as well as our furry friends are allowed.

I have no clue why Ive not reviewed this restaurant before now because I freaking love it! Weve been here tons of times and never had bad service. Its always clean (including the bathrooms). theres a very nice patio area. Almost everything Ive eaten here I loved. The gyro burrito and triple dip app are a couple of our favs. Their bloody mary is TDF and theyre only 5 bucks during Sunday brunch. Today we got the gyro burrito and a soup flight. I didnt really care for the poblano potato soup. But I love their gyro chili and French onion soup. the soup flight was only $14.

Fantastic food. The house salad had a really good taste, it did come with too much onions. I ordered the Souvlaki with Brassica. Nice restaurant. Reasonable price. Large portions. Service as great. Dont know the name of the server. She was very friendly. There was a younger server with blonde hair not so much. When we told her that we got fries instead of onion rings. She just grabbed the fries and when she gave us the onion rings she just dumped it on my sons plate. We were quite stunned. She does not understand customer service. Overall the food was great. Calamari was really crunchy and tasty. My gyros pita was good but the gyros was a little bit salty. My sons shrimp pura was great and so was my hubbys chicken souvlaki. I would recommend visiting this restaurant.

Tried them for something new and was not disappointed. Fire feta dip really was fire & the calamari was my favorite . The calamari was perfectly breaded & a great sauce. I ordered the chicken pita all the way. I was very happy with the chicken seasoning and sauce! The chicken was cooked very tender and i gladly gobbled it up! We waited over 20 min just for someone to take our drink order. We should have just left at that point, but wanted to give this place a try given the good reviews. Once they finally took our drink & food order it took another 45 minutes to get it just for 1 of the 3 entrees we ordered to be completely wrong! We were told they were short staffed & kitchen was backed up and it will be another 30-45 minutes to correct our order. No apologies, no offer to take wrong order entree off our tab, nothing. Stuck paying for food we didnt even order. If they are short on staff then they should do to go only or close until they get proper staff.

The Trojan poppers are amazing. I ordered the gyro plate but the waitress brought me the chicken plate. My husband told the waitress but we didnt have time to wait for a correction. Love the outdoor seating, especially for this time of year in South Texas. I love the gyros, Greek bar trash and cheesecake!! The server was quite busy for their small lunch pop, but she was very attentive.

We were all hunger after being on the boardwalk. Stopped in a birthday party was going on. Had to wait till staff sang happy birthday, helped another table than we finally ordered. Since establishment was closing soon, decided to order, get check, get drinks and go bc after appetizers mseemed like we were invisible again!?

I have been going to Bakkhus for many years. I have never be so disappointed in a restaurant that I frequent. I usually get one of the dinners that comes with a salad. Today I am cutting back on my intake and just got a salad. $14.00 with no protein. Protein for the salad started at $6.00 for chicken! The salad came out and it was the size of a side salad. My friend got the salad and soup, $17.00. With tea our lunch was near $40.00 and we left hungry. I would love to hear back from management. The place was nearly empty and I felt like I had to beg the waitress for a refill on my tea.

Didnt get any photos but we did stop in today. We had a salad, veggie pita and they were also able to veganize a kids menu item for our daughter which really saved us money. Portions are big. I couldnt even finish my salad. The price was great. Vegetarian options: We are vegan and had 3 different meals. The Greek Salad no feta, the veggies pita and side salad (again say no feta), my daughter got fruit, salad, pita bread, and potatoes from the kids menu she just asked for no meat or eggs etc. $30 (before tip) for the 3 of us is the least amount Ive spent on food for us especially walking distance to the Boardwalk. Cant beat it.

Wife and I ate here f9r an early dinner and found it to be REALLY good. My wife started with their sangria with white wine and I had the huckleberry lemonade(i would call it refreshing), we both liked the drinks. Went on to share a Gyro pita with parmesean fries and we really liked it. Food came out hot and fresh. They are a little light on the tzatziki, still good but if you like the stuff maybe order extra. Staff were friendly and helpful. Patio was nice and the tables were spaced out so you were not on top.of other folks. Definitely 5 stars.

My wifes food was late. We had to go ask for it twice after everyone else was served. The soup with the soup and salad order never came. We had to get the manager to get the fries with the kids meals, when fries are losted with kids meals. Skip this place for $110 before tip.

First night in Houston traveling with 3 kids. Super disappointed in the level of service and the meals. Kids meal includes French fries and drinks they wouldn t give us French fries as the kids ordered spaghetti. Manager finally approved after we pointed out the menu says fries are included. Our final bill we got charged $10 for 3 kids drinks also part of the kids meal. We ordered and soup and salad and never got the soup but we got charge for it! Don t waste your money. Our server was sweet and polite but we don t recommend.
