Met up with my brothers here after work, and to my surprise, it was awesome! I tried the Persephone beer, and the flavor was incredible, fruity, wheaty... perfectly balanced. I also tried an ale beer, but I can t remember the name. It was surprisingly tastey. The atmosphere was cool, even though my brothers were a bit loud (as usual, lol). I ll definitely be coming back for the great vibes and that amazing beer

We have hosted several Silent Book Club NW Houston meetings at Senate and we are so grateful to have partnered with such a great venue with excellent beer, food for every budget, and attentive staff. Senate staff always make our attendees feel welcome, but Allen is the easiest to coordinate events with and is so responsive. The space is ample and cozy and ordering is a breeze. If you havent had their chicken tacos, run and grab some, but their menu has something for everyone so you wont be disappointed.

First time here. Had a beer before a job interview to cut the edge off. Beer was good, my wife also had one and hers was good. We didn t order food but it looked like a lot of people in there had some great looking burgers. The brewery is pretty cool, always cool to see them working in the back making more. If you re looking for a beer and burger it seems like a popular spot during lunch time. If and when I make it back to the area we will be trying a burger this time.

We live close by, so we come to Senate Avenue often. Great beers, food, and very good service. We just hosted a birthday party on Friday there and we had a GREAT time. Service was so good...especially being that it was a Friday evening. Food was perfect and all our guests were very happy with the food/service and of course the beers. Thank you Senate Ave! Love this place. Lively and welcoming neighborhood brewery, beers are always delicious (and they ll add new brews constantly), food is the best of bar bites. The Mayor s burger is my favorite so far, the wings are the runner up, as they re huge and just the right amount of crispy. Oh and they do really well organized Trivia nights (Harry Potter and such) on a weekly basis. Owner is always around, is involved and friendly, and service is great. If you re in doubt about going, stop, just get in your car, and drive to Senate Ave and order a beer and fried cheese curds while you think about it some more.

A great little neighborhood place with super friendly service, great beer selection, and standard food/bites. I wish it had a bit more expansive menu food-wise, but for what it is, its awesome - definitely recommend for a casual lunch or happy hour! Went here for lunch on a Monday and they have the chicken fried steak as a special. Best chicken fried steak I have had at a restaurant. It was very tasty. The mashed potatoes and broccoli were also really great. Everything else I saw come out looked delicious. I hope to go back so I can try more dishes. Definitely worth checking out!

Came here today (2/25/24) with a friend. I live in the area so I pass by this place frequently and have always been interested in trying it therefore I was very excited to do so finally. However, the bartender there made us feel very uncomfortable and it seemed like we were bothering her with the few questions we had about the beer since it was our first time trying the beer there. I have a lot of patience and grace with people (as I am a teacher lol) so it takes a lot for me to tell someone nevermind and leave an establishment which is what we decided to do because of how unwelcoming her energy felt. I want to like this place and keep going back but everytime I ve gone it s so loud and chaotic in there as there are kids running around screaming etc it s like drinking in a school cafeteria. I m not sure if it s due to the smaller inside that makes it so noisy. No offense to people who bring their kids I have my own but sometimes you want to kick back and relax with a few drinks and just get away. The most eclectic brewery in Houston. You will find a very nice environment that will please of all ages, from young families with their kids , students, young adults and older people. For nearly the past year Senate Brewery has been our place of choice when wanting a cold beer and a tasty meal. What Senate offers is worthy of 5 stars. A selection of beer for all palates Meals, appetizers, and daily specials that have always been delicious delivered by prompt and friendly service and staff. Theres only two draw backs that Ill mention here but I dont find that they warrant an adjustment outside of my 5 star rating. First is that the selection of beer on tap may vary weekly. I primarily mentioned how long Ive been frequenting this place because it took me some time to find the groove of how they manage their selection of beer. The website helps to leverage your expectations but dont be surprised to arrive and see one of your beer choices now out. Once youve started going here a few weeks youll find their rotation is clearer and you can adjust accordingly. However, this is serves as a good indicator as to how good their beer is! Secondly, I personally have issues with hearing when there are a lot of ambient sounds in the area. If there is a crowd then the noise can make listening to others at your table somewhat difficult if you have difficulties listening in a loud environment. No real fault of Senate but something I have to consider personally. Vegetarian options: Black bean burger was extremely tasty.

Super disappointed, the company promotes the Dynamo and soccer in general. Came in on a Saturday hoping to grub and watch the Dynamo game but they said they prioritized having the Astros game on over anything, even though they have a lot of Dynamo merchandise hanging over the restaurant and go on podcast trying to get Dynamo fans to come to this spot. Food is okay, beer is pretty solid. Just a very disappointing experience after being excited to enjoy some soccer here.

Visual aesthetics of the place is right in line with a local brewery. Really cool vibes, open space and seating. Overall, good quality. As a brewery, we tried the drinks. I opted with the local City Orchard Cider-silver tap original. Definitely in my wheel house-not dry or too sweet. Just a perfect touch to your meal. We also order fish and chips with lemon pepper wings. I was not extremely satisfied with my wings. A bit overcooked-dried out. Seasoned well but something was off. The fish and chips were crispy and good. I would visit here again and would recommend as an option. Staff was super friendly, attentive, and well versed with menu which is always helpful.

Nice selection of tasty beers. The only thing that would make this place the best would be if you could actually sit at the bar. I love to come here with my family but when I dont have my kids I dont feel comfortable going there because you have to sit at a table, taking up a 4 or 6 top and youre sitting there all by your lonesome. I would much rather sit at the bar and talk to the folks behind the bar and other folks sitting at the bar. Not to mention that the bar is already setup as a bar, with foot rest and everything. All you need are stools.

Stopped for a late lunch after golf with a couple of buddies, one of which who had been there before and recommended. The beers we tried were all very good and true to their billing. Two of us had their bison berger, really good and well cooked (one medium and one medium rare). I had the spicy fries . Other had a wedge salad which looked great. Surprised not a bigger crowd, but it was mid afternoon.

Wings were some of the best breaded wings Ive ever had. They were super crunchy, had the right amount of breading. The Buffalo sauce was super tasty and had the right amount of heat. Normally I have to ask for extra sauce but they did not skimp on the sauce, they were perfectly covered. On to the beer... it looks like they only had two beers they brewed at the facility and I tried the amber. I was not expecting it to have a smoke flavor but it did which I appreciated because I like a bit of peat. The Helles was not brewed by them it was from Klaus Brewery, but I was not a huge fan. I love Helles but this was not traditional it had a nutty flavor almost like coconut. The light lager was almost like drinking water, this too was brewed by another brewery. The Pilsner by Holler Brewing company was by far my favorite it had really good flavor profiles. I thoroughly enjoyed it and wish we could get it in Austin. The venue is super cute lots of cutesy decor. They have a nice outdoor space for kiddos and doggies.

This brewary is a local gem that I visit weekly for the wonderful craft beer, delicious burger, and trivia night on Wednesdays. The staff is so friendly and the environment is laid back. Its a family friendly joint which is a blessing because I can bring my 7 year old daughter to hang out while I have fun. Its just good clean fun at Senate Avenue. Vegetarian options: They have black bean burgers, hummus and pitta bread, salads, pretzels, and more. Were big fans and visit weekly. We bring cards to play with our teens and let the little ones play in the gravel pit while we have beer or wine. Its relaxing and friendly, a place where you will see neighbors sharing a long table. Update: Just left after spending the evening with two sets of neighbors who joined tables with us. This is *our place*. Update 2: Just left after spending lunchtime with my husband. We celebrated my masters program graduation here and rented the place out. It was reasonably priced, super fun, and I felt like I was at home that also happened to be a comfy brewery. If you eat at Senate Ave, youre supporting a small business that really cares about their neighborhood and community. Come on by. Stay a while.

Love these new spots that open up adding value to nearby neighborhoods. It was my first time here and the food and beer was delicious. Im not a fan of IPA beers as they tend to be hoppy and they had quite a few BUT they did have a smooth vanilla porter and my mother enjoyed their octoberfest. I shared the corn dip and spicy shrimp tacos with sweet potato fries. The corn dip was creamy and the chips were warm and fresh. The tacos were good but couldve used more sauce and less cabbage as the shrimp were falling out but the taste was on point. The atmosphere seems real nice and open. You can see where they producetheir beers and even have a nice spacy patio. We went after the lunch rush so it wasnt busy and I wouldve given more stars except we werent greeted and when the food came we werent given plates nd had to ask. Had to get up and get my own napkins. Thats fine if I know its a self-service restaurant where I dont tip the staff. Overall, I will try it out once again and check out new items. Maybe I caught the staff at the wrong time. Parking: Plenty of space out front and around the building. Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu and even capri-suns. Wheelchair accessibility: There was a ramp in front of the doors.
