Was good the first 2 times i went 2 females were very nice and loved it there. and last night I went and had the worst, rudest bartender who was a guy- heard his name was Steven. Kept throwing glass cups and breaking them in front of customers and yelling at customers for not tipping. He kicked out a group of Hispanic men right at 12:00 being completely racist and the manager Carey went along with this horrible racist behavior. Legally people should start getting forced out at 12:15. Men were just playing pool not bothering anybody.. staff ganged up on the group of Hispanic men. Will never come here again and fear to be around the bartender Steven. Made me really uncomfortable to ask for a drink. Dont come to lucky penny in jarrell texas.

Nice quiet place. Friendly bar tenders, service was good. Prices are about average. Will be returning. **** Well wont be going back to Lucky Pennys. They do not let cuts or colors in. They will refuse service. Sorry for their loss, I always tipped bigger and more than 20%.

I ve gone to this place a few times to play pool and every time the service is horrible. I ve had to wait at the bar several minutes when there is only 1 or 2 people at the bar the bartenders just stand around. It seems unless you re a regular you will be treated like an outcast. I will never return to this place again and they don t care about losing business.

Ive been living in Jarrell for a little over a year, and have driven by this place constantly. Today was the first time I came in. I liked it. I only had time for a couple of drinks, and they were poured fine. The bartender wasnt stingy, but also didnt make them too strong. I could see there was a really wide selection of draft beer on tap - something to dive into more the next time I visit (and, yes, there will totally be a next time.) I didnt have a chance to try the food, so I cant comment on that. Yet. The atmosphere was like your usual hole in the wall type joint. Interestingly, there were a couple of children hanging around. No, they werent drinking. This was at 1pm on Saturday, right around lunchtime. They make it very clear in signage all over that all kids must be out by a certain time. Theres also a handful of pool tables, dart boards, and other games. They also have live music, karaoke, and, I dunno, karate fights or something. That last part probably isnt true. Anyway, there arent too many options in town of you want to stop for a drink. Thankfully, Lucky Penny is a pretty good one. Kid-friendliness: You can bring your kids here during the day. If you want.

Smells like a dive bar, but you know what, thats good with me, I love a good dive bar. When you have about 8 people in the bar and 3 more walk in, you should say hey, how ya doin or something along those lines. Not ignore and wait until the customer is sick of waiting at a table and goes to the bar for an order. No wings like the online menu shows? Thats OK got anything else? Still waiting fir that answer. If you want to get a good following, look to new people, not the same old half dozen. I can forget about almost anything in a bar except poor service. I get the message, you dont need our business.

Stopped by here earlier this week. It was empty, maybe two other patrons at the bar. We walked up and sat at the bar and had zero acknowledgment. The bartenders were just talking amongst themselves. Then a man walked in and they greeted him immediately while we were still sitting there with no service. I can t think of any other reason they didn t even acknowledge us other than we re an interracial couple. We sat there for about ten minutes with no Welcome or so much as eye contact or can I help you etc. wish I could give zero stars. Try to support local places but we Will NEVER return here again.

Everytime I go in there, the cook isnt around or leaving. Friendly bar staff but thats nothing special. Owner replied says they think its special. A vague response to whatever they think they have. Not trying to fix the problem. Maybe they should be on Bar Rescue.

Nice Country place with good local Clientele . They have the Lottery machines and the food was pretty good for Bar food. Met Gail the owner and she was way nice to chat with. They do have smoking in the back room but I couldnt smell it in the main part of the bar. I stopped as they had Karaoke going on and needed a break from driving. Ate and sang had a great time ,Close enough to walk from to the truck stop

The bartenders here arent very attentive, nor do they always know how to make a drink; We asked for an old fashioned and a cosmopolitan were given a whiskey double on the rocks, and a margarita-ish drink. This isnt the first time this has happened, nor was it the same bartender.

When I moved to Jarrell, I accepted that I was moving out in the country and may not have top choices when it comes to grocery and food. When it came to bar choices, I really didnt think we would find anything worth repeat visits. I was so wrong. Ive been twice so far and this place is the hidden gem of Jarrell. The service at the bar is quick and the beer is great! Karaoke Saturdays are lively and fun as well. The staff and the regulars and owner (who was on site both times I visited) at Lucky Penny Lounge are some of the nicest people I have ever met. Tonight, my husband and I came to have a beer and I convinced him to let us order a burger to share. This burger was the best burger either of us have ever had. It was cooked to the perfect temperature and melted in my mouth. I chose to get the onion rings with it and the batter used was also sublime. Seriously, Carmen sprinkled some magic in the food she prepared. Looking forward to coming back and trying some more food from the kitchen, having great drinks, and enjoying time with the regulars and staff at Lucky Penny Lounge.
