At Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen and Bar, I indulged in an early dinner that left me thoroughly fulfilled. The honey-dusted fried chicken was a masterpiece, boasting a perfect balance of crispiness and tenderness, with a delightful infusion of sweetness from the honey. Alongside the delectable food, Kelseys impeccable hospitality represented the company well, adding an extra layer of delight to the dining experience. Her warmth and attentiveness, coupled with thoughtful recommendations, made me feel not just like a guest but a valued patron. Im already looking forward to returning to savor more of their carefully crafted Southern delights and enjoy the welcoming atmosphere once more.

I had been to the Frisco location and didnt know this one had opened. Though in a different location, of course it did not disappoint. We ordered Tupelos Shrimp & Grits and the Bourbon Peppercorn Glazed Meatloaf. Both were beyond flavorful. The grits made me happy because they had goat cheese instead of cheddar cheese, which made them incredibly creamy. The Meatloaf was so different; tender and juicy. Our server Reena, made sure well be back!

Fantastic spot, worth trying. The fried green tomatoes are excellent, and paired very well with the included goat cheese grits. The Asheville Hot Sandwich was good, but not very spicy. The shrimp and grits is NOT Cajun or Creole style, so it is hard to rate. It is bright and tangy, which was very different from the rich smoky flavor Im used to. The French fries are impeccable. (Update) This time I enjoyed the smothered chicken, which was excellent. The batter was crispy and just a little spicy. Brussel sprouts were similarly excellent. Gumbo was a little thin compared to my previous experiences with gumbo. Flavor was good, though

This is a self described southern food place. Menu to me was a bit limited but what we had was pretty good. We ordered the biscuit appetizer, shrimp n grits & the half shrimp poboy with crispy fries. Biscuit was a bit undercooked in the middle and the bottom was tough. These are served with butter and blueberry preserves, but they put the butter in the preserves which was just weird to me. The shrimp poboy with remoulade was good, nothing spectacular, fries that were served with were really nice and crispy. Now the shrimp and goat cheese grits were awesome. The grits were pretty rustic and seasoned very well. Overall it was a nice lunch and the waitstaff was very attentive.

This was my first visit to this restaurant, and I was thoroughly impressed! I ordered the chicken and waffles, while my friend opted for the half chicken with Sriracha hot sauce on the side. We also shared a side of crispy Brussels sprouts, which were absolutely amazing! Although the chicken needed a touch more salt, the sauce perfectly complemented it, and it was cooked to perfection. Jenn, our waitress, provided excellent service. The restaurant s interior was beautiful, spacious, and well-equipped with plenty of restrooms. I would definitely return!

Excellent experience. Went with a group of work colleagues so there was close to a dozen of us. Service was exceptionally prompt and incredibly friendly. We only ordered appetizers but everything was delicious, particularly their sauces (I think it was a spicy ranch that everyone loved). Atmosphere was very pleasant with nice warm lighting that wasnt too bright or too dim. They had nice music playing at a volume where you could still hear it without having to yell or exclaim to hear anyone. Excellent happy hour (4-6 I think?) deals as well!

Restaurant is beautifully decorated. Good Vibe. But the food is subpar . I always have a high expectation for southern cooking since that s the food my culture mostly makes and this wasn t really it. I got the smothered chicken, Mac and cheese, and broccolini the smothered chicken wasn t smothered at all. Idk why it is named that. It was literally just fried chicken thighs with gravy the macaroni had bread crumbs on the top , and the broccolini came with bread crumbs and some sauce. The food was edible, and did not taste bad, but if you re looking for authentic southern food, this isn t it! The place has potential, but they gotta find some chefs that know how to do southern food the right way!

Dismayed to see so much water wasted! They bring a glass without request. Texas, we are still in a long term drought. Biscuits were a little hard on the outside like theyd been sitting around for a while. And the butter was rock hard, cant spread that. Shrimp and grits were very good and they made it without chorizo per my request. Server was attentive but the host was fumbling. Very nice to see a dog friendly patio. Might bring mine next time.

I ve been here twice now and I m not impressed. On my most recent visit, I placed a Togo order before I left work. It is a 30 minute drive and my food still wasn t completed despite the restaurant being practically empty. It took another 15 minutes for a total of 45 minutes to complete. Once I get home, there is no cutlery or napkins in the bag and the food is ICE COLD! I only live 5 minutes from the restaurant. It also lacked any seasonings. It tasted like there was no basic salt and pepper in any dish. I really wanted to like this place but I will not be back.

First things first: They are generous with the bourbon in Boozy Turkey. Definitely worth the price and would get again! I would come here just for the drink; it s that good! Shrimp & Grits was a tad salty to me; mixed in a side of plain grits to balance it. The chorizo and goat cheese complemented the dish. Though the shrimp were kind of bland and didn t add much to the dish. Too bad they were not blackened or such. I hate pickles and ranch dressing but thought the House-made Fried Pickles were absolutely delicious. I was pleasantly surprised. Looking forward to trying fried green tomatoes next time. Lastly, lots of guests ordered the Sweet & Spicy Chicken. The few guests I asked all highly recommended it (even the first timers). Parking: More than enough

Tupelo Honey offers a vibrant dining experience with a friendly bartender who offers fantastic happy hour food suggestions. The modern decor and hip atmosphere set the stage for a memorable evening. The cast iron pork stole the show with its unbelievable tenderness and rich flavor, thanks to its overnight slow braising in duck fat. Accompanied by perfectly crispy brussel sprouts bursting with flavor, every bite was a delight. For dessert I had the banana pudding which had great flavor but included too many wafer cookies and not enough pudding. But overall, Tupelo Honey is a must-visit for anyone seeking top-notch food, a welcoming atmosphere, and impeccable service.

Let me start by saying my family owned one of the most popular Louisiana food trucks in San Antonio. We came to Dallas from San Antonio on a day trip and stumbled across Tupelo Honey. Since this is a chain I didn t expect much. However my mind was blown by the flavors. We had the shrimp and grits and the chicken and waffles. The Shrimp and grits were to die for. The chicken and waffles are made with dark meat sweet baby Jesus! But wait there s more the biscuits for a cause were something special. And to top it all off, the banana pudding was heaven sent. Ok ok ok one more thing. Alex the waiter was a rockstar and his service was top notch. I ll recommend Tupelo Honey to everyone.

Service was good but the food needs some work. I had the smothered chicken with a side of mac n cheese, and collard greens. The greens were good; the bacon gave it a nice mildly sweet/smokey flavor. The mac n cheese was not good. It was hard and the cheese they use did not add to the flavor or texture of the mac n cheese. I only had two bites and left the rest alone. Now, the smothered chicken was decent, but not what I would call southern smothered chicken. It was basically fried chicken with biscuit gravy poured over the top. The gravy was topped with a little bit of basil and that gave the chicken a satisfactory finish. However, the chicken did not taste like it was fried the same day; it was a bit tough and tasted like it was made the day before. The service was prompt, professional and hospitable. The price was also reasonable for my meal and the portion was good as well. Overall, I wasnt impressed enough with the food to want to return for another meal.

Overpriced food and no flavor. The service and atmosphere is good though. Maybe just plan a happy hour, they have good drink specials.

Food and drinks are wonderful but that means nothing if you have slow service. It took at least 5 minutes at the front counter before we were even acknowledged to be sat down. Then it took 35 minutes for us to get our food with all of 2 people in the restaurant eating. As we were on a lunch break, we ended up having to immediately take our food to go. So disappointing.

I ll start by saying they were short staff and it was Valentine s Day, but service was horribly slow! So slow we were ready to order by the time someone came to take our drink order. Water was incredibly good (only true water drinkers will understand). Both my husband and I ordered chicken and waffles and the chicken was over cooked and really dark like it was fried in old grease! Not flavorful at all, I had to use tons of salt and pepper for taste. Waffles were good and buttery, together a decent meal but not enough to go back. Prices were very good as well for what you get. Also ordered side of fries and they were basic but good if that makes sense.

The atmosphere was great and our server was good but it almost felt as if she knew the food was not that great because every time she walked by our table she asked do you like your food? Overall the food was not great and the blue lavender lemonade was supposed to have a hint of lavender but it tasted like I was drinking a lavender bath bomb. I ve been wanting to try this place for a while but I m very disappointed. I will not be visiting again but try it for yourself.

Food is not southern cuisine. You only know that if you are from the south.I paid 113.00 for service to the other end of the table.Everything I asked for was taken to my daughter and daughter n law,but I made the request.I guess the waiter was impressed with the young woman.I will never return.

I cant say enough good things about our experience at Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly and seated promptly. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, setting the stage for a fantastic dining experience. Now, lets talk about the food and drinks absolutely phenomenal! Every dish we ordered, was bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. We give everything we tried a solid 5 stars! The drinks were deliciously crafted, and the selection of Southern-inspired dishes left us wanting more. But what truly stood out was the exceptional service. Our waitress was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. We especially appreciated the managers proactive approach in checking for my food allergens, ensuring a safe and enjoyable dining experience. Its rare to find such attention to detail, and it was greatly appreciated. Although I couldnt indulge in the biscuits (which I truly wanted) due to allergies, we still purchased them for my hubby, knowing that the profits support a worthy cause. Kudos to Tupelo Honey for their commitment to community involvement. Overall, we wholeheartedly recommend Tupelo Honey Southern Kitchen & Bar and will definitely be back for more. Thank you for an unforgettable dining experience!

They were good and I ve only enjoyed grits from two other restaurants that are not in Tx, so I was really pleased with the grits here. I also was able to get a vegetarian sausage(don t mind the color). Vegetarian options: Soy sausage

Dietary restrictions: There was something for our vegans, the vegetarian, and the Southerners. The drinks were tasty but not very strong. I had two of the purple people eater, and I felt no buzz. The food lacked flavor, and the chicken and waffles were bland. Thr brussel sprouts lacked flavor. They were crispy, but thats it. I went during happy hour, the prices were great and the service was good. The bar and kitchen were slow, getting things out.

Delightful venue and food. Service and bartender Gus were great. Chicken fantastic. Rosemary potatoes were okay. wife enjoyed the shrimp and grits but felt the vegatables and chorizo were chopped way too fine and in low quantities. Drinks good. Some nice custom cocktails with unique flair. Very clean and well maintained.

Enjoyed a late lunch there, just into the start of happy hour. Food was delicious, specifically the fried green tomatoes we got to start. I also had a peach/pineapple sangria (peach dont kill my vibe) that tasted wonderful. Will definitely be coming back again to try some of the other great sounding dishes, as well as getting those tomatoes again! Dietary restrictions: Saw several gluten free options on the menu-awesome. All their bloody marys had bacon (I dont eat bacon)-sad.

Came in today with my dad and uncle. A guy came up to my uncle and said that after brining the chicken out of the deep fryer that they dropped it on the floor and that they would remake it and comp it, my uncle who is very patient said no problem and that he would wait they said it would be 13 more Minutes which it was longer than that . My dad and myself had already basically finished our food before he got his. We got the check and of course my dad did not say anything but the chicken was not comped after I saw the receipt .. also a little pricey as well. Maybe I ll visit again and give them another try maybe not, my dad and his brother definitely agreed this is not souther cooking and that they would not come again.

I have been to 3 other Tupelo Honey s and I love the food and we have never had any issues. This was my first visit to the Las Colinas location and we had several issues. My party ordered two drinks and the second one came about 10 minutes after the first. My wife ordered a grilled chicken sandwich and when they served my food they told us that they messed up on the order and that they would have to make it again. However, they also messed up on mine and gave me the honey chicken instead of the sweet and spicy. When I told them about the mistake, they did fix it. We then waited on my wife s food, but they ended up giving her the fried chicken instead of the grilled chicken that she ordered. At that point, we weren t going to wait for them to bring out a grilled chicken so she just ate the one that was brought. The restaurant was very empty, so it was not due to being busy. I recommend going to the Frisco location instead. Dietary restrictions: Has calorie counts on menu
