I am from Cali, so I am used to good Mexican food. I had the best enchiladas I have ever ate here in Texas at El Fenix. I got the food to go, so I can t comment to much on atmosphere of the place, but everything looked clean, and the staff was real nice. Would definitely eat here with my family when in town again.

Well it turns out that the manager sat a couple that just arrived while it was my turn and was waiting for my table he totally dismissed me .. theres no reservations ahead just in case it crossed your mind Uptade .. the place is now discussing under the booth theres face masks on the flor food and trash tortilla soup was cold and my coffe to .... they need more maintenance on the place The place is super cold ned a jacket to eat and food get cool very quickly

America is absolutely the best! She is our go to server every single time we come in. She delivers incredible customer service with a smile and always makes us feel welcome. Tonight was no different and we appreciate her and everything she does. As for the food, tonight was delicious as usual. I highly recommend getting pretty much anything off the menu, but some of my favorites are their combo fajitas, fiesta taco salad, street tacos and of course their queso.

Love cheese tacos from here until about a year ago. They started tasting different and not appetizing to me. Thought it was just me, so I would wait a few months a go back. Same experience. I visited this restaurant on Sundays with my favorite American waitress and she told me that she was trying the new dishes and she recommended the mole enchiladas. She knows that Im from Puebla. Mole is #1 so she asked her waitress if they could prepare a dish for me. and wow delicious and recommended today I can say that El Fenix has a Mexican dish Thank you

The chips and sauce were good. I got the brisket enchiladas with queso. Very disappointed!!! It was mostly all queso and barely any meat. The waitress never checked on us after brought us our drinks. The food took forever.. about 45 to 50 minutes. It was only 4 of us. My sons tacos barely had any taco meat. Almost $13 plate.. I expected meat on there. It was just very disappointing, never again! Should have just gone to McDonalds!

I love the design of the place, the atmosphere and the Mexican food. I was extremely happy with this restaurant. I was in town for training and this was within walking distance. But if I had a vehicle, I believe I would just go back here because it is so damn good. It had been several years since we tried El Fenix, so we decided to give it a try the last time we were in Dallas. Just barely three stars. Overall, the food was bland. Very little spice or any other seasoning. The chips were good, but the salsa like everything else was pretty average. It was quite a long wait to get our food and then most of it was warm, but not hot. We never did receive our queso appetizer. Our particular waitress was not friendly and not attentive. She did not check on us between drinks and serving the food so we couldnt even remind her about the queso. It took a very long time to get our check. There are too many other options to get good food and service. We probably wont be back.

Great food, great waitress service but the lady who sat us and greeted us was rude, no smile, not welcoming at all and didnt ask if we wanted a table or booth practically walked fast and sat the menus down and walked away before we even reached the table so I picked up the menus and said we would like a booth, it was not crowded and many were available. Its not hard to be nice and a smile goes a long way. If she doesnt want to be hospitable she should go work somewhere that doesnt deal with people or give her a janitor job. Excuse me we pay money to go to your establishment and after a long day of work and just wanting to relax and enjoy my evening it is not something you want to deal with. Teach her to check her attitude. Unless you pay her to run customers off.

I grew up eating at this wonderful restaurant. Sadly it doesnt exist at this location. Service was painfully slow and the food was cold and had no flavor at all. Chips are light and corn...the salsa is fantastic. We enjoyed the house margaritas but I really loved the mango margarita (wasnt too sweet and made with puree, not syrup). We had the botano sampler for an appetizer which was so plentiful, it became the meal. I had the tortilla soupbwith chicken. Get the rice to make it more substantial. Its not spicy at all. Prices have gone up so mch and service has gone down. Had the worst server, fajita meat was beef jerky and when they replaced the order, everything else was cold. Drinks at ,3.50 each were not refilled. If you want El Fe.ix you had better plan to drive to Dallas. Managers here take people who are regulars like they dont count. I will return to this El Fenix. Forget the birthday song they do not have time for that. Dont know what is keeping them so busy itust be break time all day. I am so disappointed.

The atmosphere was fun and interesting. I had the Santa Fe salad. It was tasty and a huge serving. The service was good but challenging to communicate with the server. Kid-friendliness: There were a few people with babies. Family friendly.

Food was just ok and was very fast. Service on the other hand was not good. Attitude of the hostess was dismissive and distant. Just grabbed to menus and walked away toward the table she intended for us. No follow me or anything. Food was delivered but we waited another 10 minutes for silverware. Ordered a soft drink when seated and had to ask for it again once the food was delivered. All around . low budget, poor service, ok food.

Very good food for the value. Had the lunch special. Service was prompt and appropriately inattentive while my lunch companion and I were clearly in a deep conversation. Always responded to our requests. Food was hot and very good. Portion size was above average. Good value, good service and good food. Enchiladas were nice. Great example of Tex-Mex, the official (non-BBQ) food of Texas. Clean, a little loud (not their fault), and felt cozy. Recommend. Parking: Ample parking. Kid-friendliness: Saw some high chairs available. Appears very family friendly. Wheelchair accessibility: Accessibility appeared good. Lots of restricted parking and ramps to make it useful.

Its pretty good but not wonderful. We had loaded queso, and they gave us chip tiny pieces. Most about the size of a fingernail and didnt come to check on us for 15 mins. Waited on drinks and check. Just not worth it.

Weve been coming here for years, especially for the Wednesday special. But it really depends on your server. Some are attentive, and the food is hot, and we never have to ask for refills. But some are the opposite. Last night we got sat with a server from the latter. The last time he brought my moms food out completely wrong. She ordered a frozen marg, he brought it on the rocks. She ordered cheese enchiladas, he brought beef. Hed done this before with my father a few weeks prior, bringing him chicken instead of cheese. We keep going for the staff we do like, and the specials, but watch your server.

To be fair, Im not a big fan of Tex- Mex style food but went out with a group. I ordered the El Fenix dinner. The food wasnt bad. The major highlight was how good the guacamole was! If you like guacamole, I would suggest ordering some for the table
