I hate Italian restaurants. Or I do because I am keto. My wife brought me here despite the many many protestations against Italian and noodles, breads, risotta and mashed potatoes. But I tried the Hot stone steak. They bring out a beautiful piece of steak that you cut at and cook to your desired temp on a square stone. Add a small boat of mushrooms and marsala and it makes for a tasty combo. We also tried the calamari which was lightly fried with some marinara and an alleged Sriracha aioli, without being spicy. Stephen was the speedy waiter, bragging how awesome he was and working hard to live up to it. Turned out to be a great time and a delicious meal. Seems like well find a way back now that i have something to eat .

Family ate at La Bistro for the first time tonight and it was great. Stephen waited on us and was attentive without being obnoxious. He suggested the Sea Bass over risotto; was amazing. Only thing I would say was that I felt there should have been a bit more risotto for that particular dish, but it did taste very good. We will definitely return!

We enjoyed this place, think of it as the old school local Italian place that local people go to for date nights. Based on what we had I would say this is leaning more towards American Italian and was quite good. The Chilean sea bass was great. Oasis cake was also a nice dessert. Kind of an old dark classic Italian restaurant feel from a bygone era, live piano, service was great, very personable and helpful. Fairly priced for good food. Solid Italian American fare, fair portions. We did wish for a couple more white wine/rose options. Maybe a couple of French wine options? We ll be coming back!

My boys and I stopped by this evening. The place looked great and smelled great. The fresh scent the use was a little to strong for autistic asthmatic son and we had to leave as he started to have an asthma attack. They were quite gracious in understanding allowing us to leave. We appreciate the service and will be back to partake in their wonderful meals

5/3/24: All I can say is its overpriced and just not great, but ok. The atmosphere is dark, and the grand piano takes up a lot of room and is very loud. Service: good. They brought out our food on a bus cart. I thought that was odd. The owner and manager were there and not one time did they come to our table. They only talked to people they knew. We had two entrees and soup and a glass of wine each. I paid 99.00 + tip. There is better in town and less expensive places. We wont go back.

We ve dined here several times over the years. If it were closer we d be there more often. Always a great experience. Inside is nice - dark with dark table cloths to give a more upscale feel. The food is wonderful with a menu filled with Italian favorites including veal and some interesting items that you might not expect. They have a table-side flaming wheel carbonara - which I haven t tried but how could it not be good. I recall a steak that you could cook over rocks as well. I had a dry aged NY strip for the first time the other night and it was amazing. The chef makes great food and this steak was exceptional. Great place.

We were there for Valentine s Day last night. It started out pretty good but went pretty downhill. They had a special valentines menu, 79.99 per person which included shared appetizer, soup/salad each, entree each, and shared dessert. We ordered the fried cheese ravioli and it was good and come out quickly. We both ordered Caesar salad which were both good. For our entree we both elected to pay $29.99 extra each for the dry aged ribeye. It was to come with honey brussel sprouts, asparagus, and mashed potatoes. When we finally got our entrees (service significantly slowed down, it took an hour between salads and entrees, but it was Valentine s Day), we were brought steaks smothered in a mushroom Marsala sauce with Brussels, carrots and mashed potatoes. We suspected we received the wrong steaks as the dry aged ribeye description didn t mention any mushroom Marsala sauce. There was other steak menu items that mentioned having the steak Marsala sauce, so we assumed it was a mixup. We asked our waiter and he informed us that our steaks were indeed the dry aged ribeyes and that the sauce was supposed to come on the side. We found that odd since the menu description for the dry aged ribeye didn t mention that. However, we didn t want to wait another hour for entrees so we ate the steaks. We both ordered medium and these were probably well done. The steaks didn t taste like they had any seasoning and they were tough. I firmly believe we did not receive the dry aged ribeyes but the sirloin with mushroom Marsala. We had tiramisu for dessert and it was good but it took us 20 minutes to receive it after we ordered. I feel kinda bad for our server. I forget his name but I think he had too many tables. We didn t see him much and he wasn t able to be very attentive. Overall we re pretty disappointed with the service and the entree that we paid over $200 for on a special night out (we didn t even order drinks). This was our first time here and I was excited to try a local place with good reviews. We could have gone somewhere fancier like Perry s in Grapevine and paid the same amount for much better food and service.

My wife and I have eaten at La Bistro on several occasions. The food is truly and consistently good and the wait staff does a great job. The restaurant is run the old way that adds dignity to the ambiance. It is priced about to be expected in a high class restaurant. I must say that we have eaten it the High Class restaurants in Fort Worth and they no longer meet the standards we expect for a $300 meal. It would be very difficult to spend that kind of money at La Bistro Italian Grill. Having posted this, I think we are going over there tonight.

Our family has been dining at this restaurant for over 25 years. Tonight will be our absolute last. We called in an order to go and I questioned why the salad was extra when it s included in the dine in experience and wow did I have the most awful reply. The owners daughter explained that when you order to go it s actually less and I was like okay that makes sense but she abruptly became so rude and said well we don t want your business literally hung up on us! We dine there at least 2 times a month for an average bill of $200 so over a year that s almost $2500 and over the last 25 years we have spent over 60k. Well we will never dine here again and I know about 20-30 people who dine there and I will make sure they know how we were treated. Sid s daughter is a spoiled little brat with no biz or customer service. Shameful that she is allowed to converse with a clientele that Sid has worked years to build.

Summary: Pure mediocrity and a insult at current pricing. I wont be doing this twice and I dont recommend you do it once. Taking aside service by the owner to focus on the food. The crab stuffed mushrooms were bland, uninspired and tasteless. They promised they were fresh but came out of the kitchen reeking of microwaved putty, nuked to oblivion, burning your mouth the moment they touched your tongue. Main course. An americanized, heavy cheese inspired dish that Wisconsinites would have serve as an idol. The tomato sauce was vague relief. They needed a bit more flavour using better tomatoes with a natural, sweeter taste from a better source; overall, it slightly mollified the disappointment despite having only eaten a quarter of it. Dessert. The only decent part by far. The coffee based pie belied the terrible east-coast based watered down Folgers served on the side. Edible, but the owner could not tell you where or how anything was sourced aside from their supplier. Guess what supplier these treats are from. Contentious discussions with the owner only served to worsen the experience. Despite the food, I happily tipped the poor waitress for the experience giving it the benefit of the doubt. After a free espresso from my waitress, I asked for another and the owner ended up charging for both. Maybe the experience can be tied up to a French man trying to make good Italian cuisine. Maybe my Italian roots brought up centuries old arguments on food. Maybe not. Maybe the food was just bland and the owner could care less about my experience eating there or where his food came from. Either way, not coming back. Go to Dallas and eat well at anywhere else. Go to Zio Cecio. Experience warmth of actual Italian chefs. Look at the photos posted and tell me this deserves $50-100 per person. Wont be doing this twice. Dont recommend you do it once.

I don t know how this restaurant used to be. I only know that our experience was terrible. My husband and I went for a dinner date there, an the first thing I noticed walking in was the smell. It had that dirty restaurant smell. Then, the waiter poured us water out of a dingy plastic Tupperware pitcher, rather-than a nice glass or metal one. I got chicken fettuccini and my husband got lasagna and they were both completely flavorless! There was no flavor at all! My husband says the food tasted like prepackaged food from Cysco. The tabletops were sticky, and to add insult to injury, the food was so overpriced! The prices we paid are what I would expect to pay at a NICE restaurant. This is not a nice restaurant. Do yourself a favor, a go to another Italian restaurant in Hurst, the one that s next to the police station on Precinct Line.

I would give it 2.5 stars!! The service is probably the best we have had at a restaurant!! However, the food lacked seasoning and flavor. The calamari was rubbery and bland and we didnt even finish it. They say every meal comes with salad or soup but dont explain that if you choose caesar salad instead of house, its an $8.95 UP charge. Keep in mind the house salad is some lettuce with ONE of the smalleat cherry tomatoes I have ever seen and dressing. If you choose the soup and pick lobster bisque it is an $10.95 UP charge. There is no sweet tea, just tea and sugar. The food all was decent but lacked flavor. Every main entree comes with a bowl of spaghetti n tomato sauce. Its a decent meal but feel overpriced and stale environment. I am not sure if ever seen an Italian restaurant with a bowl of powdered parmesan cheese they spoon for you if you want some. Usually when not fresh, a shaker is used and given to the customer. Nice ambience for older crowds. For 4 of us, it was $158 before tip for 2 bar drinks, 2 sodas, calamari, 2 chicken dishes, 2 basic pasta dishes and a piece of cake. I wont be back and was disappointed after all the 5 star reviews I have seen.

I m not even out the door and I have to start reviewing how amazing this place is! Their was a wonderful pianist playing the most beautiful songs like some Disney classics and others that everyone knows!! It set a lovely ambiance for a nice evening weekend dinner out! The service was amazing, bread and water being refilled at the slightest emptiness! The whole staff was so friendly and attentive! Alyssa was so sweet and very helpful, we felt well paid attention to and the food was even better than it looked!! We got the chicken cordon blue and lobster ravioli, they were both impeccable (of course I made my husband let me try his)! Also they had a great wine selection. I like sweeter wines but don t like moscato very much and they had a Riesling I had never seen before that was very yummy (was a blue Riesling from Germany and I was very pleased)! Great service, great atmosphere, even better food! We will definitely be back!

Crabcake was wonderful, but then the lobster bisque came. It was tomato soup with just a tinge of lobster flavor. Very disappointing. What about the rest of the meal? After my wife finished her lobster bisque, about 15 minutes after it was brought to the table, my lobster ravioli finally showed up, with no apology for the delay. It had no lobster, or lobster favor that I could tell. When I asked the older gentleman who I assume to be the owner about this he said, It just has a small amount of lobster, it would be $59 or $69 if it was made with lots of lobster. No apology, or any kind of concern. We wont be going back.

Im never one to complain about the quality of food unless it was above and beyond bad. Started off with sweet tea that tasted old. Didnt drink it. Told the waitress. Still charged for it. I ordered filet marsala and wife ordered chicken marsala. Steak was supposed to be medium rare but it came to me medium well. Steak has zero flavor. There is no way it was seasoned with anything prior to being cooked. Marsala tasted like it was only Marsala wine with heavy cream and mushrooms. Marsala was not good. I had 2 bites of my steak, ate the mushrooms, that was it. My wifes chicken marsala was a think piece of chicken that looked like it came out of the frozen section of an Aldi. Hers was super bland as well. She told the waitress she didnt like it. I told my waitress I wasnt impressed with mine either. Still charged every dime. $90 for one of the worst meals I have ever had. We put the remainder of our $90 meal in a to go box in hopes our dogs will actually enjoy it. I cant be too upset at the waitress for the food quality but I can be upset with her for charging us for trash and dont get me talking about the flavorless garlic bread.

I made a reservation for Valentines day. You can imagine our surprise when we sat down and it was $80 per person! This didnt include drinks. They also had a specific menu not allowing to order from the full menue. Since food was just okay and not amazing we felt ripped off. Should have at least said something when the reservation is made that its a outrageous price. Few people came in and left after they sat down because of the price.

The live piano music, the ambience, the excellent customer services and the foods (ordered crab stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer and lobster ravioli and fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken) were beyond excellent. Perfect for a romantic or low key date night! Food was great, atmosphere was on point and our server Jaysen took us on a spectacular journey that made our taste buds dance! We ve lived in the area for 2.5 years now and shocked we haven t discovered this place sooner. My husband and I throughly enjoyed ourselves tonight and I must say, we came for the Italian food but we took an unexpected and delightful turn after hearing our servers recommendations. I m so happy we listened to Jaysen, as we were blown away with the dining experience and food! We ordered (the filet on the rocks , which is a large filet cooked on a 600 degree Lava rock there at your table. You have full control on how you want each piece to taste and it will NOT overcook. We love a well known steakhouse restaurant in Dallas and very particular with our cut of meat. This place DID NOT disappoint and the cut of meat truly melted in our mouths and was down right, wonderful! I was shocked, not what we expected but exceeded everything we hoped for in trying this new place. Great job, Jaysen! Needless to say, we will be back

This place not only has some great authentic Italian fare but if you are also looking for French Bistro cuisine it is featured in many of the dishes on the menu. My husband and I happened upon this place sort of by accident when we were looking to eat a lite dinner. He ended up getting Filet on the Rocks and I ate the lamb chops. My arm was in a cast so excuse my manners but I ate the cut lamb chops with my free hand and cleaned all the meat off the bones. The filet on the rocks fits my husband s personality because he likes kitschy types of meals but the steak doesn t need any sauce once cooked. That filet was very tender even though it came with a mushroom and red wine reduction sauce. Great overall

Was disappointed to find that the menu has changed significantly since we last visited. We used to come pretty frequently pre-COVID and were used to paying $12-15 for chicken or pasta. Went today for the first time in about a year and the prices have skyrocketed. The new menu features chicken for $22, pasta for $19, or fish for $40. We ended up leaving because we were a larger group and weren t prepared for such an expensive dinner. We attempted to pull up the menu online before our visit but that page on the website is broken. If prices are going to soar, customers should be able to access that information before they decide to visit, so they can avoid the awkwardness of having choose whether to leave or spend much more than they planned.
