We found shoes but unfortunately there was only ONE employee to help us. A male employee working alone trying to take care of everyone himself (impossible) and the shoe department was in disarray because there was no way one person could have taken care of all those people that were in the shoe department at that time it was a mess. I felt bad that he was assisting everyone without help from MGMT.

I came in to look for some summer flip flops for women on clearance. Probably havent been to Academy to shop for myself in 10 years. They have the flip flops on a hanging rack, but it was just a nightmare trying to look thru there. Not sure if it was loss prevention, but I know it was an Academy employee. 3 diff. men kept passing me (he had his little earpiece on). Finally I said something to him because I didnt even have a purse. Not sure if they thought I was going to steal something. Which I dont do that. Nothing worse than trying to shop and having someone following you around and youve done nothing to make them think youre going to steal. I will not be back.

UPDATE: This place continues to be horrible even after being remodeled! 12 registers open for regular checkout and only 1 register for online pickup...MAN WHATS REALLY GOING ON HERE?!?!?! Great deals very clean and organized but the service is extremely horrible!!!! This is by far the worse Academy I have ever been to that has service like this. Only 2 registers open at a very busy time. Then the darn credit card machines arent working because some genius decided to put paper in the slot so that the cards could be read BETTER supposedly, so my wife had to remove the paper so it could work and guess what, IT DID WORK!!!! So embarrassing, when a card isnt being read for some mistake that an employee made...and to top it off theres like 20 ppl behind you cause they dont want to open more lines up. Wont ever return!!!!!

Ok selection of fire arms. On line selection much better. They were also out of the 12 gauge slugs. They sell gun sights but not a holster that will take a gun with attached sights. I found that strange. Would also be nice if they had a larger selection of large caliber side arms. 50 cal, 44 mag and 357 I would have like to see. They had plenty 22 and 9mm...

Went in to exchange items my wife bought me for Father s Day, unfortunately I had no receipt and the items were paid in cash. I just wanted to exchange two Magellan shirts that is academy s brand but the cashier and manager said because under new policy that started last month acadamy no longer honors exchanges without a receipt. I have shopped at this academy for many years and have never had an issue until today.

A plain short latina con cara de nopal pero no quería hablar español was the cashier she was not wearing her badge but was simply incompetent! Kept saying they didn t have klarna despite her literal co worker saying yes they do ! was no help and rude she basically just stared us down as we were struggling . left the store to fix the problem and came back to see her laughing it up and giggling with some men . just for her to proceed to treat the poor women ahead of us just as rudely .the other women cashier that helped us was very kind thank you !

Please do not order anything online here. I placed an order for mulipte things for Christmas. Everything on my account was showing online. After placing the order, the next day I received an email advising that 2 of my items ( Gormet Turkey fryer, and Crocs) were not available. I called the store and advised them that the I saw another Gormet Turkey fryer at another location ( Aldine). The Academy representative/ clerk advised it was nothing they can do. So I called customer service and stayed on hold for an hour. I hung up and they called me back 2hrs later just to advised me that the Crocs were delayed dude to the fact they dont have them at the Humble store and that they were getting them shipped from one store to the Humble store. I asked about the the cancellation of my Gormet Turkey fryer and she stated it was canceled. So basically I had to drive 30min to Humble to pick up half of my order. I had to place another order for a Gormet Tyrkey fryer at the Aldine location. So Im just driving all over TX because Academy online logistics are screwed up. How can you be a brand this big and dont have real time updates. PLEASE DO NOT PLACE AN ORDER ONLINE IF UNLESS YOU WANT TO DRIVE ALL OVER TOWN AND WASTE GAS AND TIME.........,,..

Went in today to exchange and item that we purchased a few days ago, the cashier (her name was Leila) was first off extremely rude, we asked if we could price match with a their website price and right off the bat said no. Her manager which was a short lady with blonde hair came and told her that yes we could. Then the cashier mumbled that s stupid . Second, another employee asked Leila to translate for a customer as the customer didn t speak any English, Leila did not want to help instead just insisted the customer just read the pin pad instead of just EASILY translating to him in Spanish. They need to hire or at least train their employees to have a positive and better attitude towards customers. Leila did not have a good attitude and was just straight up being rude to our experience our/the whole checkout process.

On November 4th my father who is 76 was in Academy in Humble Texas. He asked 3 different employees to please help him fill out the online application to purchase his hand gun. Not one single employee took the time to assist my father who told them multiple times and multiple occasions that he did not understand. Do better academy...teach your employees to have patience and compassion for people whom are making expensive purchases! Instead of passing him by and ignoring him like he was invisible! He is not rude or difficult to help! The employees frankly just could have cared less! Please reconsider utilizing this store! Find a small town shop that actually wants your business!

I love Academy! Its my go to place for gifts for the Outdoors Man. I had gone to Academy to get a birthday gift for my Dad, who is an avid fisherman. I found him a blue fishing shirt with fish on it and fishing shorts. While, they were a bit pricey, I did not mind spending the money due to the quality of the product.
