I am deeply disappointed with the service provided by Maverick and his team. After six months of no contact, it took me reaching out for an update, only to learn that the job was far from complete. Despite the promises made, we feel betrayed. Maverick had my loved one sign away his rights, and there has been a total lack of transparency regarding his case. My loved one is still sitting in TDCJ, unaware of the status of his own appeal until we learned, almost by accident, that we had lost. When Maverick handed the case to the appeal attorney Joseph Varela, I was told both briefs had been filed, and paperwork was sent to the client. But that paperwork never reached him. It wasn t until three days ago that I found out about the lost appeal and that we had only 30 days to appeal the appeal. Even then, the client didn t receive the news until today. Maverick had initially told us he would be out in two weeks, but that turned into 19 months. In those months, he has missed our child s first birthday, first holidays, and first steps. This experience has been a tragedy for our family, and I feel completely let down by this firm. Can someone explain when a lawyers job is really done? We paid for services that left us feeling abandoned and hopeless. What we received in return was unprofessionalism, a lack of communication, and a sense of betrayal that will last far beyond this case.

Wow! I m so amazed at how educated attorney Ray Maverick is when it comes to his practice. I kid you not! He really knows what he s doing. I was facing some really serious charges and thought my life without a doubt was out of my control. My charges were possession which could have packed on more charges, such as transporting and possession to sale and maybe more. I was so worried and stressed wasn t able to sleep at all. A friend of mine referred me to check out this attorney. He explained that this man is one of the best when it comes to charges like I was facing. So I checked him out and I tell you I was not in any way dissatisfied! He assured me that he is very experienced and would do what has to be done to try and make things better. My family and I are VERY DISAPPOINTED with the ineffective counsel rendered by Maverick himself. During the process he rarely showed up to the court dates and when he did he would get into it with the judge. This, in return, kept getting the hearing reset. After several missed court dates Maverick shows up to the one in particular got into a heated disagreement with the Judge and got the client sentenced to FIVE YEARS, when the cl was promised probation and jail time was never on the table. Maverick had the client sign their rights over unbeknownst to them as he promised the client everything would be okay. When in reality what Maverick had the client sign was an agreement to serve 5 years and waive all rights to an appeal and trial. Maverick then promised me that same day, the client in question, wouldnt serve no longer than two weeks. Fast forward, IT HAS BEEN A WHOLE YEAR and Maverick is unreachable. He supposedly put somebody else on the case after he took a 3 week vacation in Greece while his client sat in the county jail. Supposedly its an appeal lawyer but what good is an appeal lawyer when you already had the client sign over their rights to an appeal! It ridiculous and highly offense he is not actively trying to RIGHT HIS WRONGS. The client has NEVER been in trouble before and was going in for a simple hearing but since Maverick did not provide the services we paid a pretty penny for, the client was sent to jail that same day. Maverick didnt even fight for the client to get his affairs in order and settle on a turn in date. Since then the client has lost his business, his home, his vehicle and his family has had to suffer. To make matters worst the client had just welcomed their first child into the world at merely three months old. Maverick has not stood by his word or work. WE NEED ANSWERS!

My experience was anything but good. It took almost 3 years to handle a simple accident case. Ann is the worst! She lies way too much to the clients and is very lazy. The attorneys know and was shared how unprofessional she was but they didn t care. I will never refer anyone here not obtain their services ever. It took weeks for them to return a simple phone call. If you re thinking about this place RUN! I had to make phone calls to get medical records, and police reports on my own! She lied lots of times saying she was reaching out to doctors and the insurance companies and when I called myself, I was told she never reached out. It was such a headache. I dont know where to start but Ill get to the point. The DA pushed the issue of Agg-Assault w a Deadly weapon. Maverick was more than apt, diligent, and kindhearted throughout this whole process. I have had straight-forward and honest conversations with his staff and theyve been nothing less than honest and urgent throughout the whole ordeal. I had a few friends who have either heard of or used Maverick and calmed all of my concerns in the beginning. Oh Maverick? Youll be fine! -- I heard nothing but great things about him and they were right. I would like to warn everyone please dont make the mistake my late husband and I did by retaining the legal services of Atty Matthew Marzak with Maverick, Ray & Associates. He became a real nightmare in my life! I had a slip and fall accident in an apartment complex that he accepted. Unfortunately, after he accepted our case he laid it down in his office an refused to pick it back up. This was a complicated personal injury case for him because he wasnt competent enough as an attorney to even get the name of the insurance company liable for my injuries and Im still suffering from that fall whereby I will finally be forced to have surgery on my shoulder rotator. My husband was a war veteran and Atty Marzak was made aware that I lost my husband my husband to cancer on 9/11/2020 and for months he told me my case was about to be settled as I continued to tell him I was about to become homeless when ever I was able to catch him in the office. I was cleaning out an old email last month and discovered my personal injury case was being dismissed by the civil court in Texas. In that email there was a lie that I had been served at an address I didnt reside in that my case was about to be dismissed. Atty Matthew Marzak will retaliate if you make him aware of his incompetence or oppose him in any way and he will sabotage your law suit causing you to lose your civil action! He dont call you nor do he respond to your many, many messages! Hes so laid back, he have the nerve to tell you he hadnt even picked up your file! I was homeless for 2.9 years after the damages he personally put me through by stalling me and continuing to tell me my case is settling. I will be seeking legal actions against him as well as writing a grievance against him with the State Bar of Texas! I must say, next to my husbands death, Attorney Matthew Marzak torn my heart up because I made him aware that I was being abused in the places I was forced to live and he stalled me until I came to the realization that he was an indigent attorney and I finally accepted he just allow people to retain him and if he get lucky and get an easy case thats the ones he get paid on. If the civil case is complicated, you can hang it up! Please take this advice. Just pass him up and if you decide to retain him as your legal representative youll just another one added to this list! May God bless you Atty Matthew Marzak, I hope hes able to touch your heart and make you realize how youve hurt people and change your heart from greed to humanity, decency and mold you into a man in his image and make you a God fearing man and I pray that you never do anyone else like you did me!

I am throughly disappointed in how my case was handled by Mr. Ray, There were times where texts and phone calls were not responded to. There was a time where I thought I could join court via zoom only to be told my the court I had to be there. That is something that should have been told to me by Mr. Ray. Also when my case got moved to family court I wasn t notified by him at all. If he couldn t handle my case he definitely should ve said that and let me find someone else that was gonna take their time with my case and not reset my case until they couldn t reset it anymore. There were times where I didn t feel like I was taking care of property. As a person who paid 6,000.00 I would think I would get top tier treatment. Now don t get me wrong I understand I am not his only client and my case wasn t as much of a concern as others. I just felt my case could have been handled differently. There is no way that my case should have went on for 2 years when he told me it would be resolved between 6 months to a year. I am highly disappointed in how my case went. My case should have resulted in a dismissal not a plea not deferred adjudication just a plain dismissal. I am a first time offender. And NO!!!! I wouldn t recommend him at all!!!!! And going forward instead of trying to secure a retainer he should check to see if he is capable to work/ able to accept this type of case for his client. As a first time offender who has never been in trouble and a witness/plaintiff that did not want me to receive any punishment I m sorry too. definitely isn t off my record the employers I ve applied to can see it still. I wish you replied this fast when I told you the plaintiff kept harassing me, tapping into my cameras and coming to my home during the whole case but alrighty.

Maverick saved my life. I was young, just married, and a baby on the way. Harris County was offering 25 to Life as a habitual. I didnt have the best record, but I definitely wasnt trash to be disposed of fir 25+ years. He walked in and got me 2 years probation! Im forever in his debt. Hes definitely blessed by GOD.

It sucks when you get in a car accident, specially when it s not your fault, specially when you get injured and have to deal with insurance adjusters, medical claims and all that mess. First of all i wanna thank the entire team, because if you have ever been threw multiple resets for long periods of time, youd knw that its really impossible for one person to be in so many court rooms at one time! He s a great lawyer he beat a lot of cases for people I know in the past. I referred a friend to them and I told him good things about Maverick but they aren t doing good business with him they missed two of his court dates and something is on his record because of it they said they would take care of it and never did they also forgot to bring important paperwork for the DA in court which made them reset his court date. I m not sure if he has too many clients and he s just overwhelmed but I feel so bad for telling my friend to hire him.

DO NOT HIRE !!!!The guy is a complete crook !!! I didnt plan on getting an attorney for the simple fact that I could not afford one. But the court system needed me to at least look for one so I did. He talked me into putting down the retainer so he could get my license back. The day after my first court date he said he never said he could get my license back because it was too late and he didnt recall making me that promise which he definitely did! Thats the only reason I put down the 500$ I did not have. He did nothing for me . Bully and a liar

Worst Attorney ever! He ripped us off of so much money and didnt even complete the case, yet they refused to refund our money. They stole money order that were supposed to go to court and asked for more. So glad I fired them!! Would never recommend him to anyone not even my worst enemy. They have terrible customer service and do not know how to even put together a simple provisional waiver! MAVERICK RAY does not even talk to clients what kind of lawyer does not talk to his paying clients?! People like this should not be allowed to practice any law because they clearly are not in it to help out clients, they are there to take peoples money then give you the run around.
