This is not a high volume store but they sure like to act like it is. At night no one is ever at the host stand to welcome you in, so you re just left standing there until one of the many bartenders/waitresses notice you from behind the bar. There is a lot of staff yet no one to greet/seat you. Having to place to go orders at the bar is a terrible set up because if you re not sitting down to drink, the bartenders aren t going to acknowledge you. I stood at the bar register for over 10 minutes waiting to order while 3 servers walked around behind it. The guy who took my order then said what do you want which I m guessing is normal in his culture but came off as rude considering I d been waiting with not so much as a hi someone will be with you . The food is good and moderately priced. Customer service is subpar.

My wife ordered the veggie rolls and I ordered the broccoli and pork. Veggie roll was good. Well made. The side of ginger and wasabi made it very enjoyable. Definitely not recommending the broccoli and pork. It was a sweet dark sauce that tasted like gravy with sugar in it. I wish as much care went into my meal as the veggie rolls. Not sure if I ll be back. The lunch meals, not so much. I wouldn t go out of my way. I give it so there it is.

I waited 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged me to pick up a to go order. 10 minutes ! Not a waiter/waitress or even the hostess. I called in my order 30 minutes prior and it still wasn t ready when I get there. Very slow service and definitely not friendly. The food was ok. This was the first time in my life that I didn t tip for a to go order.

They have to work on their consistency but their Philly roll is a safey net for me when I want sushi. Lunch specials are amazing portions cause you almost get double the basic rolls plus soup and saled for less than $20 most the time (depending on role selections).

Overall this place is good. I went during lunch hours (12-2) and it wasn t packed at all. The tables were clean, the waitress was very welcoming and even had a great sense of humor. The music selection was very dated and appropriate for the hour. We were seated immediately and our drink orders taken promptly. I would have gave it five starts but the cups we received were not that clean. Other than that the food was good. I had the Watermelon margarita and the Mongolian beef with steamed rice which was fresh and had plenty of flavor. My daughter had the Cajun sushi roll and the Spicy Salmon which she enjoyed. Overall, I will definitely come back. Prices were reasonable for the amount of food we got.

We used to be regular customers who used to spend nearly 200 dollars every other week at this restaurant. My wife, two girls and myself regularly picked up a corner booth to avoid bother other customers since my little still gets a little cranky and it was always easy to keep her under control. Last time we showed up the person up front refused to accommodate our request, she then went and got the manager and stated that corner booths are for parties of 6/8. It had not been a problem in years. So we walked away and promised ourselves never to go back. They will be missing a my few thousands per year we used to spend there. Bathrooms do need to be a little cleaner. Food is awesome and some of the waitresses are amazing but they do have a high turnover so it s hit and miss

Freaking love this place. The food is top level. The sushi rice isnt as sticky as it should be, but other than that, all pistons are firing for Akashi. The bento lunch specials are phenomenal. Best egg drop soup in the area. Vegetarian options: Plenty of options but Im a carnivore Parking: Parking is brutal. There are multiple businesses and minimal parking. Not Akashis fault. It lies with the property management. Back in and save yourself the headache.

First time coming here with a party of eight. It was my friends birthday, so of course she invited her friends and family members. Service was pretty good. The restaurant was busy too. The food looked delicious. When the bill came, I was upset that 18% service charge was added to my credit card. I find this very rude! When I decide to drive 50 minutes out to my friends birthday celebration, we should not be charged a stupid service charge. I should have the right to decide, how much tip I want to give to the server. Its not my fault that my friend invited 8 people to her birthday, nor should the restaurant care.

Overall, we were pleased with our dining experience. Stephanies miso soup had a little too much going on. My egg drop soup was great. The crab puffs were spot on. I had the Sushi combo A, enjoying every bite. Stephanie was pleased with the Rock n roll. There was a slight miscommunication on Stephanies order as she thought she was ordering the combo, but apparently didnt get that across. Sorry that I forgot to take photos until we had already started.

My color was not wanted there(BROWN SKIN GIRL) When you first walk in the restaurant it s a sign that says please wait to be seated. I stood there for about a good eight minutes a lighter complected couple.(white) walked in later a young lady who worked at the restaurant, walked up to them and said a table for two the nice gentleman said oh no she was standing in front of us. She was here first the young lady gave me a look of filth A part of me wanted to act CRAZY. I simply smiled and walked out. I hope a colored person think before they spend money here.

It s very good, it s only 10 minutes drive from my home. I ate there thrice in last 2 months: Pros: 1. It s very consistent, an excellent chain, 2. Food was always hot & tasty, 3. Service is excellent, 4. Lunch is weekdays only, an excellent deal, excellent value. 5. Ambience is clean & contemporary, Cons: 1. Portions are not huge, but I was full not stuffed. 2. It s a Saturday not lunch pricing. I paid $27, more than 20% tips included. I thought inflation is moderating close to 2% annually. I certainly don t see it.

The food and service from this location has always been great. Shrimp fried rice, wonton soup, etc. I loved it all. I havent been here in awhile because a long time ago I decided that rising sun had better sushi options. I went in yesterday because the atmosphere is nice. However the menu was dirty, the fork the server gave our table was dirty and so was the wall next to the booth. It was 11:30am btw, so it would be understandable after a long day but that was too much. I feel like they have lots of selection for non sushi items and I really like the Mongolian Triple but after the sushi yesterday which was subpar and the dirty area I probably wont be back.

The food is good for the most part. I wasn t a fan of the wonton soup or the general chicken. The general chick taste like pre made nuggets fried and mixed in sauce. The combination rice, shrimp lo main, and magnolia beef was delish. When I walked in I was greeted with a smell that was indescribable. This is my third visit and I ve order a side car, Margarita, and apple martini . Let s just say don t waste your money. Also, you can tell who the owners are because they just look. Quick Note - I only ordered takeout. But in order to get your food you have to walk into the open concept styled restaurant. This place has a great atmosphere. Its fun and upbeat. Flexible for business, birthday meal, or date night. The menu is extensive, from simple Chinese to complex Japanese. The only downside is going to the restroom. Their choice of toilet paper takes you from uptown to the bus station. They use the cheapest, thinnest TP on the planet. Its a shame you can easily spend $70 - $100 for a family of 4 and have to pack baby wipes. To add insult to injury, the TP dispenser is dysfunctionally located. Im surprised they havent been cited by the ADA. You almost have to be an Olympian to grab what you need without the single-ply ripping apart while keeping from falling off of the throne. You get the picture. If not, lets hope your pipes are running smoothly that day so you can just hold it until you get home.

I had dinner here last night there was a wait which was expected once we sat down no one greeted us for 20 minutes. We received water and then 1 appetizer we ordered 2, and then a couple of our sushi rolls and then after the sushi rolls were served we received one of our drinks and then our second appetizer and then I finally received my drink. We never received one of our rolls and when we asked where it was they said they never rang it in, and they gave us 15% off with was like $6 which we did not want we wanted the roll we ordered but they didn t even offer to make one. And then never offered dessert just brought the check. Never had a bad experience at any Akashi so I will be coming back just not this location. They missed out on at least $50 more ordering more drinks and food, I can t imagine how much they loose every night with the awful service

Stopped here for lunch today. Ordered the sweet and sour pork. Worst sweet and sour pork in my life! Pieces were super small and they only gave a table spoon of the sauce. The price was high for what I got too. How do you screw up something so simple????

The food and staff here is amazing. When my family and I decide to come here we try different things. So far everything has been good. Tonight we tried a few Martini s as a starter . We had the lemon drop, lychee, and chocolate Martini. The Lychee Martini was a favorite but the chocolate martini was a runner up. Before we received our entrees we enjoyed the pan fried gyoza, beef stick, and the sumo rolls. Each of us ordered the family dinner which came with a soup(we had egg drop and wonton soup) the appetizer ( butterfly shrimp, crab puff, and egg roll) so good! Our entree was broccoli beef with fried rice, and pepper steak. There was so much food that we couldn t finish and had to take things to go. The price of everything was affordable, without mentioning the tip it was under $85 for three of us. Parking: Parking is tight you may have to park a little ways away from the restaurant but it s good to walk the calories off .

My 5-year-old daughters favorite place to eat, and I like it a lot, so it works out for us both. A giant boat is hanging from the roof, and friendly vibe, clean with excellent service. We often get our food Togo, and I can t think of any time my order was wrong.

The food was good. Had the duck, was a slight bit over cooked but still very tasty. The sushi was good, had a few off the chefs specialty portion of the menu. The dumplings were fantastic. Drinks were very good, stiff. The staff was very polite and not overwhelming. We went during peak hours and even then, service was great. Absolutely would recommend you have a visit.

I have mixed feelings about my review because some of our experiences here were good, and some were really bad. Im not sure what the issue was with our waitress, but she spilled some of the drinks onto the table and my 83 year old MIL as she approached the table.That was how our night started. We spent the first 10 minutes of our night trying to clean up the mess at our table. Not one staff member in the entire restaurant came over to help at all. A very kind lady at the next table brought over the napkins at her table to help us. We stayed and attempted to make the night better. Our food was good . When we got the bill... we were charged for everything, including the drinks she spilled all over us and the table. What a disgrace . I was tempted to call a manager over, but I didnt because I felt my concerns would go on deaf ears.

Waitress was extremely rude and confronted me about a tip after poor service. Manager gave an apology but did not seem moved by the waitresss attitude. My friend was offended and said she would never patronize this business again. So disappointed. Customer service is not what it used to be.
