This guy is the best!!! He is really good at what he does, and the his price is the best you can find. He even fixed the products when we noticed that there were some imperfection on the plastic screen, if you are even in need of framing anything, look no further!

David was so nice and helpful! I brought in an irreplaceable photo from like 40+ years ago for Father s Day it was a photo of my dads dads plane, he was a pilot and is no longer with us. David made a recommendation on the frame we ended up going with, it totally brought out the tones but didn t overtake the photo itself. He also worked in a major time crunch to have it ready for Father s Day. Thanks again!

Beautiful custom frames at amazing prices, the owner is so helpful with recommending things you might not be sure about. There is a super large selection of all types of frames, it is so nice to be able to see and buy high quality frames locally!! I can t recommend them enough!

Great workmanship, great people! Over the past three years, we have taken over 20 woodblock prints to be framed. With each print, they worked with us to select the right framing. On occasions, we brought our young children. All the dad jokes were exchanged. We have never left there unhappy or disappointed. There is no other place to go for quality framing. This is a great place!

What can I say but WOW. David, was very helpful since day one. Took the time to listen and bring out lots of suggestions and ideas for this beautiful uncut foil card sheet I own. Never once felt rushed or unwelcomed in anyway. He not only listen but welcomed us in with such warmth the moment my wife, daughter and I walked in. It was feeling of being welcomed to someones home and not of a business. He cracked jokes, told us small stories and asked lots of questions to get to know us. Even on the day I came to pick up the frame, he helped me loaded it on to my car. Just incredible. But of course very knowledgeable in what he does. His work speaks for itself. Wish I could say more to give praise, but I could go on. The frame is incredible. Beautiful to look up and no picture and do it justice. Real handmade and real materials. Nothing was cut to save pennies. As with all custom projects, nothing is cheap, but youll definitely get what you pay for. I will definitely come back for more frames needed for projects in the near future. Thank you David for making the experience wonderful.

Im not from Houston, but I was there for a few days for a close friends wedding. I came on a plane, so I couldnt frame the watercolor print I had brought for a wedding present before I got to Houston. Because of not being from town, I had no reference for where I could get my print out of its tube and into something nice. After some searching, I found this place, and Im glad I did! The owner was extremely friendly and helpful in choosing something that looked great that he could also put together in time for my friends wedding the next day. I came back the next morning to find that not only had he framed the print beautifully, but he also added an additional protection to the glass for no charge, as he had some of the material in the right size in the shop already. And finally, I got all of this at an amazingly low price! (Having artists in my family, I appreciate how much these things can cost, and I was fully prepared to pay at least twice what he charged!) It was an absolute pleasure to do business at The Great Frame Up. I would recommend this location to anyone.

Best frame shop on the North side! I used to go to another frame shop but they closed down. I then went over Michaels because I wanted to sell my artwork so I had them frame it. Without going way over budget, their frame materials are super cheap, boring and very expensive, but I was thinking a specialty shop would be way out of my league. I could only find a cheap metal frame so I went with it. When I picked it up, it did look good so I purchased it but when I got home, the back was covered with art paper, which is fine, but they they threw a stupid sticker on it that says Micheals framed it. I dont sell it like that and I didnt tell them to put any stickers on it. The cheap frame ended up getting scratched up in my home anyways by some kids so I had to keep the framed artwork since it was scratched up now and it was so expensive I didnt want to redo it. I decided to try The Great Frame Up on Louetta. I walked in and spoke to David. I had two things to frame, one was another art piece and the other was a school photo with two metals. We spoke about different frames, what I wanted, what he had and could do etc. He has an excellent array of great quality products and the best part, to get all that framed, it cost less than what Micheals did for my 3 very small art pieces. Even better, when I got a call on the day David said it was ready, I picked them up and David had put special UV glass over my art piece and didnt ask me or charge me extra...and he found an even better frame that added a little more character to the frame for the photo, again no charge. The back of my artwork was papered and the only thing on the back was a sticker that the glass was UV protected. Both pictures looked absolutely amazing. David knows exactly what hes doing, hes a great frame artist with attention to detail. The other thing I liked about working with David is he wanted to know about me and my art. Very personable, caring and dedicated to what he does. I will never go anywhere else and I hope you give him a try, so worth it!

I used this location 12 years ago for an anniversary piece. Loved it so much that i am having custom work done for my daughters art work. Dave is friendly, knowledgeable and very creative when you struggle with ideas. Update 5/2/19 just picked up both custom pieces and was so very happy with the craftsmanship and quality. I cannot wait to bring my next piece in. Thanks again!!

The gentleman I interacted with was very knowledgeable about framing and helped me pick the perfect frame to compliment the artwork I brought in. It was a painting on canvas that needed to be mounted and framed. He was very nice and worked with my timeframe to ensure I got the piece back in time to surprise my husband for his birthday (approximately 5 work days).
