I love going, in the afternoons, since there are no games, the children entertain themselves with other activities, they can ride their bike, walk on the bridge, they become creative.

Great walking park. Parking can fit about 30 cars or so. (Just a guess) Good size lake with a bridge that crosses it on the northern part. Lights come on at dusk. Bridge lights up too. It would be cool if there were distance markers along the path. All around great park & great views

This is a great place to walk, I do all the time with my dog. It s so clean and comfortable to sit in the grass and just relax. Dog-friendliness: Great place to take your four legged babies. They have waste stations and lots of area for them to get some great exercise

A great place to get your walk on! Beautiful scenery- the lake, the wildlife, and the people. It s not far from the shops so you can come before or after running your errands. I look forward to my next walk here. Dog-friendliness: A lot of people had dogs. Lots of room for them to run. Plastic doggy bags available throughout trail. Picnic area: A lot of grassy area so just find a spot you love and setup your picnic.

4 stars mostly because I wish the park was away from the roads, didn t have that annoying gravel in the parking lot, had more lighting, and more trees for shade. Other than that, compared to the rest of the area, this is one of the better parks for sure. It s scenic, has wildlife, and is overall a very peaceful family park. I ve never had safety and security concerns at West Lake Park but I m not surprised to hear others say that they ve had issues (hence the lighting). No restrooms but biking and dog walking is easy here. In the end, this is one of our top choices for the Lake Houston area, we actually took our Save The Date photos here that turned out really good. Dog-friendliness: On-leash dog walking is good here. Picnic area: There s only grass sitting unless you bring your own folding table and chairs.

Worse park they broke into my car wednesday afternoon daylight very unsafe place to take a walk even to take family . people please be careful going here . Called cops and no one ever arrived. Theres need to be a security that can help in cases like this.I would recommend not going here .

Recommend this place to bring family, walking, and just enjoy the beauty of nature especially now that all the colors are changing in the trees.. The solid walking path with some birds over the walking bridge. We can see some ducks and other birds everything was good which relating to the nature.

West Lake Park offers charming walking trails alongside a small, picturesque lake. Its not too bad, i just moved around the area. I thought that it does have its nice scenery and views of sunsets. But i do advise, going before 6. All these gnats or flies flying around. Yeah i get it its nature, but theres so much of ants on the ground like its infested with ants like it isnt fertilized correctly. They do sitll need lights, what if i want to go for a night run. it is a small walk its less then a mile around the big loop. would be nice to have some benches or picnic tables around. and some water on both ends. I think overall it needs to be maintained better and fertilized on the daily. Also for the sprinklers to be coming on the water not on the pavements, due to safety precautions. Restrooms would be nice also.

Quiet. peaceful. serene. Away from busy streets. Near H.S. and neighborhood. 0.8 mi cement path. Ducks, turtles and fish in pond. Doggie bags and trash/recycle bins along route. Theres a water fountain for humans and fur babies. Couple of park benches to sit and relax. Shade trees and areas on grass for picnic. Fishing off bridge. Parking lot on premises and street parking available. Farmers market and live music nearby on weekends.

This park is fairly new and is currently in great condition as far as no trash laying around every where. Hopefully this park stays this way. More trash bins are needed along the walking trail. I feel they are too spread apart. I have seen people fish, walk dogs, jog and other some people have picnics here. There area several nice spots here see and take pictures. I loved this park, however, some ducks and a goose was located here. The ducks are fine but the goose is very aggressive. Myself and 4 other families were attacked. Including small children, it needs to be relocated, ASAP

I was here today with my mom enjoying a walk and we walked around the entire park and while we where walking someone came and smashed her windows out and took her Purse and other expensive stuff and there where 15 workers and they said they saw nothing when they where right next to the car and they said we saw nothing I will never ever go here again unless they install cameras or have a officer on duty there this place is getting worse

A very simple but beautiful park for jogging, picture taking and just relaxing with family. The walking track has a few short cuts depending on how intense you want your run to be. My favorite scenic spot has to be the foundation on the hill with a tree in the middle. There is no play area at this park but I honestly dont think it needs one. I highly recommend a visit to this park.

This park is very serene. My sister and I took an hour and 20 walk. I love the view and very motivational. You also see alot of people out and about walking, running, biking, exercising and pet walking. It has several bridges and options for having a longer or shorter route depending on you. We do not have a walking place like this in my hometown and would love if they did. I will save this place as a go to for my exercise when I am in this area. I also felt very safe to be in the area, and there were several people that chose to wear face mask during their workouts.

Great park, but beware that there was a baby alligator today in the lake. My wife was walking with our 3 young children when she overheard someone talking about it, and noticed it herself. Be alert if you have kids playing by the lake. Ive submitted a message to the Generation Park website as well.

This park is is good park to get a good walk and jog with a good view. You can also get a good shot of the sundown in the evenings. The only bad thing is the parking 6-8pm is busy and sometimes your have to go in circles to see if anybody is leaving.

I love the park. There are not enough trash cans on the far side of the lake from the parking lots, and I am starting to see lots of trash (plastic bottles and soda cans) laying around. I pick up what I can carry, but it is pretty nasty. If you are leaving your garbage, SHAME ON YOU. If you are the owner, more regular cleanup is needed.
