Edited 8.14.24 The splash pad is trash. Only one section really works. We do not like to use splash pads overall when we can just go to the pool, but when your child wants to go to a park... when theres a splash pad - it CAN BE helpful. I have to say that the running/ walking/bike trail is well manicured, but this is the park itself. It needs some attention... especially that splash pad. Its sad. The playing area is okay, but it needs some attention. It really could be a much nicer place, but unfortunately it has gone downhill. FIX THE DANG SPASH PAD BEFORE THE NEXT SUMMER SEASON!! THERES NO EXCUSE FOR it being the way it is right now after such a hot summer. So many ppl couldve used that outlet to entertain their children after Hurricane Beryl knocked out so many peoples power & internet for a week plus! I no longer recommend this park to people. ****Previous Review 2020**** This is what is really great about this park - The area to walk or ride your bike or play sports in the field is spacious, well manicured, and it provides a lot of space where you dont feel crowded. The kids have an ample amount of playground equipment to play on, theres bench seating throughout, a large covered area with electrical outlets, picnic style seating, a grill and a restroom nearby. There is a volleyball court available as well as a splash pad. One downfall to that splash pad is that the benches surrounding the splash pad on not covered so you are exposed when the sun/heat is high, but the tables with benches that have covering are a little too far back for my liking because I like to be right there to watch my four-year-old the entire time. Unfortunately, it has been my experience several times that parents get a little too comfortable with leaving their children to play in these splash pad or playground area, and I have had to track some parents down because their little kids, 3-4 year olds are running off, but the parent is too busy in their phone to notice. You are going to get a mix of ethnicities here OVERALL. This is not in an overall pretentious area so you are going to get the 11-12yo/ teenager neighborhood kids hanging out here, & you might have to tell them to watch their language and/or be careful to watch out for the little ones playing, but overall it is not much of a problem. The area is kept pretty nice over all except for those inconsiderate, trashy people that like to litter...sorry, I cant stand people that litter, but it is a really nice park, & there are accessible trash receptacles everywhere. Dogs are allowed on a leash, but there are signs that tell you to pick up after your dog, as one should anyhow, but if it becomes a problem they will ban pets over all. This really isnt too much of a problem or has not been except during the 1st phase of Coronavirus quarantine when more people were getting out of the house and heading to the park. If you try to come around or after 5:00 p.m. any day of the week - parking is going to get hectic because thats when people come to get their exercise in, have games on the soccer field or football on the other side or play baseball so plan accordingly!!

This will always be one of the best parks in Houston and I m not just saying this because I grew up in it! They have an amazing playground for kids and amazing trails with different paths. Playground: One of the best playgrounds I ve seen! Dog-friendliness: Plenty of dogs leashed and unleashed!

The park needs maintenance. The grass is too tall and is housing snakes. I have seen a few on my walks, and it is beginning to discourage me from taking walks at said park due to fear of snakes and general safety. Someone, please do something . Thank you.

I visited the park on a Wednesday before the Memorial Day holiday. The grass was pretty high, but when I called McClendon Park to ask if the grass was going to be cut for the Memorial Day weekend to reduce mosquitoes & snakes. I was told no because of the storm, they are short-handed. We had the family come to the park on Saturday, and the splash pad was turned off around 3:15 pm. Which left the kids hot & unhappy

McClendon Park is one of our favorite parks in Houston, Texas. It s also where we had our wedding. We walked the park at least 3 times a week. Recently, we have noticed that the ground or maintenance crews are not cutting the grass or picking up the trash and dog poop s weekly. We need for McClendon Park to get back to its beauty.

Enjoyed our visit here. Splash pad was off. Love how it has benches to sit close to watch our kids play. It was a holiday and park was extremely busy. Luckily didnt wait long to get a table. The worst thing I had to say for holiday is that there is not enough parking on a holiday. So if you are planning to come on a holiday make sure you come extremely early to get a good parking spot. Playground: Kid friendly. Love how many swings it has! A splash pad that might not be always on. Two playground available. A small one and bigger one. Toilets: Love how is close to the playground. Picnic area: Love how it has one large pavillon with roof to set up parties. And it has other pavillons to choose from around the park.

Nice place to visit with kids. Some good play ground for baby and toddlers. Restrooms, places for BBQ. Some people like gypsy company can make a mess, but in general good place. Also have experience with a stilling from stroller my Amazon package. Playground: Two areas for toddlers and a bit bigger kids Toilets: Good restroom not cleanest but useful with water. Fountain for drinking also. Dog-friendliness: Trail for walking with dogs Picnic area: Covered area with grill area for many people.

Been going to this park since the day it opened! Theres a nice walking trail and even a trail leading up a hill. Playground and splashpad for kids to enjoy. Lots of space to have a BBQ or party celebration. The staff that work at the park are always very welcoming as well. Note: Its always busiest on Saturdays/Sundays!

Great beginner disc golf course! Also a nice area to play baseball or kickball with your friends when its not too crowded. Playing disc golf could be annoying when there is a large crowd here. They also have a splash pad and playground for the kids here.

Given the location, I would have to say that this is a pretty good park. Since people dont know how to clean up behind themselves, Harris County parks and rec sends cleaning crews out at least twice a week. That keeps the park relatively clean. There is a decent amount of shaded space. The walking trail is large. There is a full sized soccer field and a baseball area. The splash grounds are open from May to September, which is nice. There are a dozen swings, a climbing rock, large slide area in addition to a toddler play area. The bathrooms arent too gross. At least there is usually soap in the dispensers. Parking is ok, but on busier days you may have to park in the street. There is an area for ducks to hang out, so during the right seasons you can see the ducks. There is also a beach volleyball court. Overall I can recommend this park for the SW side. Playground: There is a full sized playground for both grade school kids and a separate one for toddlers. Climbing areas, a dozen swings, splash grounds (open from May to September) and a few shaded areas. Bring water because it gets hot here in Houston. Toilets: There are men and womens restrooms (imagine that). They keep them relatively clean, but you will need to bring your own toilet tissue (you have been warned). At least there is usually soap in the dispensers.

Always bring towels. Its good for the splash pad. I bring my own water bottles too. There is a water fountain but sometimes the water is warm. I prefer to bring an extra pair of shoes here too. There s so many parks but was looking for one with swings! It s very clean and busy around 5:00 pm! Their playground is pretty big. Tables: it was clean and very spacious. I m not sure if you need to rent to do a party here. But lots of tables! The water park: it s in the back and it s pretty cool! I wish all parks had this. Parking: lots of space, won t have problems

It is a spacious place to play with children, to run, to exercise. Have a great time with the family, there are public bathrooms. Games for children. Beautiful place to walk. the park has water for children to play, in these hot times it is perfect to go soak in the afternoon, and play soccer is very spacious and at the same time there is a small forest where you can walk and enjoy the atmosphere between the trees
