This place is amazing! The service is exceptional and friendly, and they make sure you have whatever you need. The restaurant is clean, the seats are comfortable, and there is very aesthetic, color-changing lighting. There are plenty of tables equipped with a bottle of soy sauce. But what really matters about a restaurant is the food, and Akashi absolutely nails this aspect. I ordered sushi at a restaurant for the first time here, one California roll and one Philadelphia roll. Each roll consisted of 8 pieces. I really enjoyed the Philadelphia roll. The California roll was good as well, though I personally think that I would enjoy sushi with fish. Like I said, this was my first time having sushi at a restaurant, and the sushi here is delicious. The family dinner is also tasty and gives you a choice of soup, an egg roll, a crab wonton, and a choice of entree. It s a good way to get a lot of quality food for a lower price than most places: $16.95. I also familiarized myself with chopsticks, though my younger brother caught on faster than I did. Overall, this is a must go if you re looking for delicious food for a good price.

We have been going to Akashi for a little over a year now since we moved to the neighborhood. However, after today s visit, I don t think we will return. We arrived at 11 and placed our orders at 11:07. Our food did not come out until 11:43. We even asked the waitress what was taking so long and she just said that it takes the sushi chef a while to make all of our sushi. We were only a table of four, so I m not sure what took so long. The waitress didn t clear our table of our appetizers at all, so when the sushi finally did arrive, our table was very crowded. The sushi was all over the place. Some sushi was cut small, but other sushi was too big to eat. It wasn t uniform at all. And the fish didn t taste fresh. Overall, it was not a good experience. I don t think we will be back.

First time here. I will definitely be back, a little out of my way but beats Akimi on Nasa. Ginger dressing is awesome, vegetable tempura is awesome. Perfectly cooked and a wonderful variety of vegetables. Had Dragon which came with shrimp stirfry and a portion of General Tsaos chicken. So many vegetables in the shrimp stirfry and great flavor. Needless to say, I took home leftovers Service was great too and nice atmosphere!

I ve been here many times and the sushi is always just okay. The Specialty rolls/fusion rolls are definitely better than Nigiri or Hand Rolls. The fish used for the sushi is very mediocre and doesn t taste fresh. It s a very pretty restaurant though with kind staff. Great for a casual bite in the neighborhood :)

I visited this location on the 30th of December 2023 and I can say I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere though I was disappointed that I couldnt try one of their bento boxes. their general Tso chicken was cooked perfectly and the server was polite and prompt. 10/10 would visit again

2.4 out of 5 Warm japanese dishes are very disappointing- ordered the chicken teriyaki and it didnt taste like anything about the dish took time to think out. Sauce tastes like its from a package, and so does the miso soup- its a shame because miso soup is really easy to get right, so Im not sure why they dont make it in house. Sushi is alright, but was really hoping that this would be a place worth returning to. The inside bar has nice touches but it feels damp and dark.

My absolute favorite sushi spot in Clear Lake. The spicy edamame is to die for. Their menu is extensive and so delicious. My personal favorite is the Dancing Tuna Roll. Service is always prompt and friendly, and we never feel rushed there. Love this place! They also have Toro, which can be very hard to find sometimes.

The management/bar staff could be more friendly. Theyre not rude, theyre just not very welcoming. Every time Ive sat at a table the waitress has been very nice so maybe its just the bar. Despite the upscale atmosphere the food is pretty average americanized Chinese like youd get at panda express, however, they do have some traditional Japanese items that are very good. Definitely recommend the Takoyaki if youre wanting to try a real Japanese treat. The beef skewer appetizer and shrimp tempura are also very good.

My wife and I have our new go-to place. Ive probably been about 15 times now, and its always good. The fried rice is perfect. Noodles, forget about it! The drinks are poured right, and the sushi is on point. The only problem I have is that they are 4 blocks away and not 1 or Id walk. Im too fat for four blocks. I said what I said. Love this place, and Im probably going tonight for Valentines Day.

Update: lazy staff would not take my husbands order 30 mins before closing Lied by claiming closed and hung up Wow....this was a waste of my drive. I have never in my life been to a restaurant that lies on their menu!! Their appetizer claims snow crab and jalopeño wrapped in tuna w/special sauce...cost $12. First of all, it didnt have jalopeño, BUT the worst unbelievable part was that they used IMITATION CRAB!! I told them what was wrong and they said their snow crab is imitation. I told them they CANNOT advertise real snow crab and give fake....and charge for it as well. I sent it back and was refunded. The roll I ordered also wasnt correct or good. Fish not fresh and not what advertised on their description of ingredients. I ate a few piece trying to give it chance but I quit mid way through. Not very good nor worth the $15. Waiter was kind and respectful but extremely disappointed at this restaurant. NOT WORTH EATING THERE!!!!!! Update: Awful! They are serving old food that you can taste and see that is not fresh. Dry and burned fried food. The absolute only good thing was their fried rice which is flavorful. Rest of food is half inedible . Done with giving them chances.

Been here in the past with no problem but today we had the worst waiter. He forgot to put our order in, ignored us when we tried getting his attention for drink refills and when it came to pay I tried telling him to split the bill and he completely ignored me, so I got up to go and tell before he put all the bill on one card. He told me he can t split the bill and proceeded to put the card in the machine. I waited to talk to him separately to tell ask him what his problem was and why he was treating our table the way he was. He explained that a lot of people ask to have the check split and it becomes a hassle. He apologized and walked away. I hope they take notice of that server.

Likely the worst restaurant experience ever! Dined in with my family of 3, Valentines Day. We d been here before but it had been over a year. My wife s meal arrived and waitress told us the rest was on its way . So we waited .and waited and .she never came back, as we watched other (later arrivals) tables getting their meals. Literally 15-minutes later, I asked for a manager and asked him to assist with the situation. 8 minutes later, the rest of our order arrived .STILL incomplete, and one of the sushi rolls was incorrect. It was enough for us. I walked up to the manager and explained I could pay for my drink but that was all I was paying for. He was apologetic, and comp d my drink. Likely the last time we go back and I ll certainly be sharing the experience with colleagues.

What a fantastic experience in every way! Talk about feeling like royalty from the moment you step foot inside this beautiful restaurant. Kinh has been our waiter several times and never fails to disappoint. He suggested the Fuji Volcano Roll for me because I m not big on Spicy. He said he likes the spicy rolls and my husband ordered one and loved it too! A great place to entertain or go for a nice quiet dinner. So happy they are a part of Clear Lake! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! There isn t anything on the menu we wouldn t love! Wine selection is awesome! We are always too full to add dessert but we will just have to get something next time!

This was for sure a pretty good lunch stop for us from the highway. The server was friendly and the service took a little while but it was worth the wait. We sure had a great time here. Had two rolls, the tuna and avocado roll and the rock and roll roll (redundant). The rolls cone with a house salad that was a tad overdressed and with a regular miso soup that tasted OK. The rolls had a good amount of avocado but were on the thin side. Overall is a good experience but for the price I was left wanting more quality.

We came last night, food was great, restaurant was very nicely done, (feels and looks very trendy). If they can train the hostess on at least the basics of the business, (she told me she hasnt read the menu yet), so many customers left because the waiting time was extremely long, even though several tables were empty. And if they get a couple of professional waiters, this place will be very successful, I really really hope so. Will be coming back in a later day. 5/25/2021. We came back a few days ago. Food was fantastic! The service was incredible! The improvements are very noticeable, way to go guys!

Our waiter was amazing! When you visit be sure to try thier in house made ginger dressing ~ its fabulously delicious and not on the menu ~ (you are able to buy it for 3,6 & 9$)... Most people dont know. Love this place and proud they are in our community.

just moved to the neighborhood. We were looking for an Asian restaurant to get take out from. This placed checked all the boxes. The special won ton soup was delicious and enough for two. The spare rib appetizer was also fabulous. The lo mein was good and the prices reasonable. Well be back.
