Its nice to have this bit of nature tossed in the city. If you go during the right time of year, you can see wild passion flowers. Its a great place jogging or even just a stroll. Ive been thinking of bringing my bike.

Nice trail with good mileage markers. The only downside is that it isnt a hike trail it is a hike/bike trail and as per usual cyclists tend to be rude, ride recklessly and consistently fail to announce they are coming up on you. If this was a dedicated hiking trail, it would be fantastic. As we are getting ready for a major backpacking trip where fortunately there will be no cyclists. If you dont mind dodging the cyclists and want a pretty place to hike, this is a nice park. Especially for the Houston area and has lots of shade without the hassles that come along with State Park crowds. Just be aware parking is surprisingly limited so plan ahead.

And the bluebonnets are starting to come in! The last couple of years its been very nice. With the latest warm up they seem to feel its time to blossom. Its fun to see families bringing the little ones to snap some photos with bluebonnets without having to drive far. Not quite a great spread yet, but Im sure in another week or two it will be great. Update: March11 bluebonnets are taking over! :) I even added a location on Google maps to identify where its happening. Update March 23: blooming still going on, some areas just starting so we should have bluebonnets around for a while. Added a photo from this morning

Great park! I come here every weekend with my dogs or bicycle. The trails are fun and challenging and it gives my dogs a free place to run. However, the restrooms arent so safe. Ive seen homeless and they arent very clean. Other than that everything is great!

Amazing scene, bike riding, dog walking, exercising, Pokémon Going, small playground for the kiddos, benches and places to lay a blanket in the grass. Ducks, turtles, squirrels, rabbits little lizards and birds. Plenty of wildlife to go around plenty of people take pictures and just have a open space where we would hope Covid could never reach . Did I mention a place to PoGo?!!! A couple of gyms and more stops you could handle as long as you keep you walking in rotation.

It s a nice place for hiking although the path is not always clean, it s good enough to enjoy a bit of nature in Houston!! A lot of shades and nice walking although the weather is hot. If you walk along the river you may smell the water You can do hiking or biking you can do good exercise right there! If you go a paved road, you can do longboarding as well! Come and enjoy Cheers

Great park with scenic hiking amd bike trails. The bayou runs the length of the park with lots of wildlife. Ive only seen rabbits, a number of cranes, and squirrels but its nice to see them out and about. If youre into cycling, the trail has a number of nice hills to give you a good workout. Im now realizing I need a better bike as all of the carbon fiber cliques fly right by me. I love it though. There arr even a few exercise stations scattered throughout in çase you want to vary your workout. Pullup bars and sit up benches, there are even book stations where you can grab a free book to read, if youre more into the serenity of it all. I have also seen a number of people fishing in the bayou. So theres really something for everyone... Very kid and pet friendly with nice open areas for dogs to run and kids to play. At the far end of thr trail near I-10, there is a very nice gazebo area with bathrooms. Im here at least several times a week riding as it seems gyms may be out of commission for a while. Highly recommended.
