While the intake process seemed hopeful it was disappointing when we didn t get the full hour consultation for the $250 and they wanted the full retainer up front. I guess it s a money game not sure if other people will have better outcome.

I spoke to a few different law firms and attorneys prior to Cordell & Cordell. All of them were men and quickly jumped to my finances and how much I could expect to pay for child support. When I visited Cordell & Cordell, I spoke with Kara Garcia. She heard me. She made me feel like I mattered as a father and actually listened to me. She didnt shoot out a bunch of numbers but asked about events, incidents, issues and relationships. Cordell & Cordell was great and Kara Garcia is a great reason why. They are father focused and communicate every single detail and answer every single question. Unfortunately, I was unable to afford their representation anymore. If I could have I would say that every single dollar would be worth it. As I near the end of my divorce Ive been told by opposing attorneys that my lawyer looks like she was very aggressive and trying to get you everything you asked for. Kara Garcia is very well versed in family law, polite, empathetic professional and strong. Great firm!

Over priced and not very helpful. During mediation, my attorney got visibly frustrated as I tried to get a better deal for myself. I should have done more research, too much money spent for the end result.

My attorney was a Ms. Kara Garcia. I cannot say enough about how great she was through the whole process. She was always quick to answer my correspondence and questions, she fought hard for me and my two children, and was very encouraging throughout the process. After I finally escaped from the prison my now ex had me in I went to find an attorney so that I could see my son again. My son was being kept from me. I literally had nothing and no hope. I was relying on what few friends and family I had left. Kara Garcia was assigned to my case and got things moving fast. Kara got a protection order thrown out over the phone. Within a couple of months I was seeing my son again and then the second mediation I had him 50/50. Final mediation continued 50/50 (what I had asked for) Joint Managing Conservators with no child support and my ex paying for health insurance. Kara Garcia was available 24/7 and jumped on any emergency. As a father who had to fight an uphill battle in a mothers state I would and have recommended Kara Garcia and Cordell & Cordell to other fathers seeking divorce.

Aaron Pickelner with Cordell & Cordell was hands down the best lawyer for my case. Wish i would have found Cordell & Cordell from the beginning. I had to fire my first lawyer and hire them to come in and fix everything my first lawyer missed up and save me from losing anything else and losing more money in my case. I would highly recommend them for any gentleman that is going thru a child custody case or even a divorce .

After shelling out thousands of dollars my case was dismissed before the judge even heard the merits of the case. My legal expert failed to include the basic language required on my perition and picked it apart in minutes and threw the whole case out. Save your money! *edit - after speaking with customer service they have made no effort to right their mistakes. They are just after your money

Cordell & Cordell DO provide sound legal advice. But, after paying their retainer and literally canceling my services less than an hour after enrolling, I was billed for the form letter of welcome that was emailed to me, a 20 minute conversation with my attorney in which I explained that I wanted my services put on hold completely and the exiting letter I was emailed (again, a form letter I believe...) culminating in almost $500.00 in legal fees. Again, they DO give sound advice, but these guys will nickel and dime you to death. If you have money to waste, go for it. If you are a single father with a limited income (most of which that goes to trying to make your kids lives the best you can) dont bother. It isnt worth it.

Reply: Thank you for your reply. As my case is complete, reviewing my case would only benefit you. Your firm should attempt to be proactive instead of retroactive when it comes to open communication and, actually, listen to the client. You are hired to advocate for your clients not just to profit off the situation. Hired them to represent me against false claims. Had proof against allegations, testimony from Amicus and therapist along with messages from the kids, recordings, etc... No proof was provided to substantiate claims. In the end, I lost time (went from Thursday through Sunday) to standard (extended). I was constantly told that my requests were not standard (like keeping my every weekend schedule). They want to fit every situation into a standard box. This is easier than actually fighting for what is right. The outcome could have been worse so I guess my attorney did something positive. Based on my experience, I would certainly NOT recommend this firm. My attorney came off strong but ended up presenting no evidence in my defense.

Ive never been to Houston. Phillip paid yall over the phone to correct his child support deduction knowing his 1st born is legally 24yrs old. He not only presented his case w/ out his daddy n daughter backing him up, he has never lied to any court of law n he never argued to the judge. His ex wife rebuked every thing n demanded Spousal support n denied having any daughters n told the judge off coz she thinks she owns the world since God took her daddy when she was 10yrs old. Shes simply a man hater; revenge on any1 who tells her shes wrong n she doesnt think she ows any1 any explanation coz she thinks shes higher than Queen Elizabeth 2nd. Thank yall for winning his child support case. He has 3 n a half yrs left to pay which I wanted it to go to the adult child or to TX but got told by 3 different ppl that 1) Im not the actual mother, 2) the 24yr old told ever1 that she doesnt want the remaining left which I think her being 10% down syndrome coz her mother had her late is a major key factor in her brain, n 3) TX apparently dont see that the adult kid(s) depending on what he/she tells TX it goes directly to the adult kid(s) or keep paying the mother til judge says finished. Each child support case is different coz of the many different circumstances that may or may not have taken place during the whole separation n divorce is they see is the daddy missed these payments, Im just glad that its less than 50yrs of payments left. I feel like Im in a financial polygamy marriage coz Im a mom, housewife; homemaker so I must share my income w/ an ex wife that enjoyed calling me romantic names n Im straight. Im just happy that Phillip has 3 n a half yrs left of child support left coz being in debt isnt good.

My experience with this law firm was horrible from the beginning. My first lawyer went on maternity leave and did not tell me. After I finally called about the lack on movement on my case I got a new lawyer that was more expensive than the first. He was very slow to work on my case. He only seemed to work on it after I called and bugged him. My uncontested divorce took 2 years and cost me $16000. Please do yourself a favor and look for a firm that will fight for you and not just roll over because it is EASIER!!!!!!

Some of the worst attorneys for fathers nation wide. I had a divorce using them and I did more work that the attorney. If you are looking for an attorney go elsewhere, this holds true to every person who I have takes to who had them as an attorney. The odds are stacked against you in the courts as it is but to have lawyers who dont fight for you and who you have to constantly try and get in touch with. Pay attention to the bad reviews they are not wrong.

Mysti Dennis is a blessing to my family. We are truly grateful. She answered every question I had with honesty and intelligence. She told me everything that would happen exactly as it happened, from begging to end. Even when I had doubts about the process of my case, I decided to put all of my trust in Mysti and I am glad I had the fortitude to overcome my fear and do exactly as she said. Gentlemen, if you are unlucky enough to need a divorce, Cordell & Cordell are THE attorneys to have on your side. Admittedly expensive but better to pay more for expert legal help than to give up your hard earned dollars to a greedy spouse. My wife had Alzheimers and her daughter talked her into divorcing me, so I was actually fighting against two people. Cordell & Cordells attorneys went to bat for me and hit a grand slam, and I am extremely grateful to them for their help.

They lawyers at Cordell (not all of them) but the managing attorneys will tell you one thing and do something completely different. High degree of lack of integrity. This firm is about running the numbers and is not focused on the quality of the case. Make sure the attorney you hire, not at Cordell, knows the county in which your case will be heard. Its unfortunate that a firm that represents mens rights has such a lack of integrity.

HORRIBLY INCOMPETENT with absolutely no compassion children suffering. Hired in November, 6 months later havent seen the judge once. Kids mom moves and takes my 13 & 11 year old away, Cordell takes my money, reviews my case, issues a TEMPORARY RESTRAINING ORDER, and the judge kicks it out, INVALID prior order in place. Attorney Ijeoma comes back and says apparently your wife already has custody from attorney generals child support order NO KIDDING? I know she has custody thats why Im hiring an attorney fo fight for kids custody and their rights. As the problems grew bigger more fights between the kids and mom and moms boyfriend, CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES opens an investigation to investigate bruises on my children. I tell Ijeoma to focus on getting my kids out forget about the divorce SHE DOES THE EXTREME OPPOSITE! She heavily and exclusively proceeds with the divorce and withdraws from child custody modification. Now the judge sent intent to dismiss letter because there has been absolutely NO movement on the child modification since we initially filed and the lawyer is officially off the case. I did stop payments until they actually did what I hired them for and focus on getting my children out of that toxic abusive environment, they ignored me just continued billing me for the divorce after I told them to stop working on the divorce. Wasted so much money and time. DO NOT BOTHER CALLING THEM unless you truly want no say in your kids life.

I spoke with this firm. They wanted me to get set up with a retainer before they even knew what that case was about. Very odd. Usually one would get the details and at least come up with a general plan of attack, or at the very least see the facts in the case before asking for a retainer. This is very suspect.

I am an expert witness and the owner of an expert firm who works with attorneys and judges on a weekly basis. I ended up with everything I wanted at the end of my divorce, including my kids and company, and the best decision I made to get there was firing this firm and hiring someone who listened.

They assigned me an attorney that was not even in the same league as the opposing counsel. Spent $7k on them just to get to temporary hearing. My attorney did nothing so, I got to pay $5k for my wifes lawyer and $3700/month(50%of my income) to my wife. Dont waste your time or money!
